Buddy #compact-burly-build

You are here:
THE BEST-EST BOY!

Estimated DOB 10/1/21, weight 62 lbs.

Woof! Woof, everyone! I’m Buddy, a happy, friendly, patient, trusting Black Lab mix fella who loves to hang out indoors with my people-pack. I've got the compact, burly build of a Sumo wrestler and folds of loose skin on my face and body like a Shar Pei or a Saint Bernard.

You’d be hard-pressed to find another dog who’s as gentle and well-socialized with people of all ages as I am – even when the vet pokes and prods me. Foster Mom says that I’m just the “best-est” boy all the way around!

I get along great with other dogs and love playing with them. Interactive play with my foster mom as she tosses toys, sticks, and balls for me thrills my heart. When I’m thoroughly exhausted from playing outside, I’m content to snooze on my doggie bed.

Let’s see – what else can I tell you about what a good boy I am? I’m smart, so I quickly learned “sit,” “down,” and “shake” as well as how to use the doggie door. I walk obediently on a leash, take treats gently, and am fine when I’m bathed.

A Good Samaritan found me on a back road where I’d been abandoned by my owner. I was covered in mange, but thank heavens my foster mom took me in. My coat has grown back nicely (after many medicated baths!), so I’m now ready for my forever home. Considering what I’ve been through, I’m very resilient because I’ve responded so enthusiastically to the love that my foster mom has showered upon me.

I’d love to spend the coming cold months in a warm, comfy home surrounded by people who love me and will never abandon me again. I’d fit like a glove into a lot of households – including with kids and other dogs. Ideally an active family will adopt me and give me plenty of daily exercise – either by walking, jogging, or playing fetch in the back yard or dog park. Could that be with you? Arrange to meet me today!

Jack

You are here:
WHAT AN ATHLETE!

DOB 9/1/21, Weight ~ 55 lbs

Howdy! I’m Jack, a VERY happy, wiggly black Labrador Retriever /Greyhound mix fella with one erect and one floppy ear. I love to interact with adults and kids as well as to play with other dogs. My favorite parts of the day are going on walks and playtime, whether it’s fetching the ball, splashing in water, or chewing on my squeaky toys.

I’m being fostered at a boarding kennel, where I’m attending puppy kindergarten. I’m learning my manners as well as to obey simple commands like “sit,” “down,” and “place.” I’m smart and an eager learner, so I’m a star student. I’m bubbling with leftover puppy energy, so I really enjoy going to Doggy Day Care occasionally where I get to run around with other pooches and have the zoomies to my heart’s content.

A Good Samaritan found me wandering around a park with no ID tags or microchip, and I’m so relieved I was accepted into the HOPE program. I’m anticipating my new home with a loving, caring family, a canine pal, and a yard where I can frolic to my heart’s content. Could that be with you?

Lola

You are here:

~ DOB 8/1/2022, weight: ~16 lbs.

Hi! My name is Lola. The bravest, smartest puppy you’ll ever meet.

My foster mom took me in as I had a bad case of puppy strangles. A couple of weeks of meds and I am ready for my next adventure! While with my foster family, I have made friends with my foster siblings and love being part of a pack. I am great with kids and have yet to meet a stranger I didn’t warm up to. I’ve also met some cats but I’m not too sure about them yet.

I know all about the dog door and figured out the potty situation pretty quickly. My foster parents put me in a kennel sometimes, it's not my favorite but I do settle in after a few minutes.

My ideal family would have at least one friend for me to play with. That can be another dog or maybe even kids. I am growing into my Australian Shepherd personality nicely. Please look those up to make sure we are a perfect match. I can’t wait to meet you!

PS: My tail is not docked, I was born this way, it is an Australian Shepherd trait.

Luna

You are here:
PERFECT DOG IN EVERY WAY

DOB  2/1/22, Weight ~ 48 lbs.

Hi, my name is Luna, which means "moon" in Spanish. I got my name because I will love you to the moon and back! I’m a young lady, soooo affectionate and gentle, and I love children as well as adults. I also adore playing with other dogs until we both get tired, and then I’m ready to chill. If you don't have another dog, I'd be just as happy to cuddle with you. If you happen to have a doggie door, that's right up my alley. I can go outside to chase squirrels all on my own.

I’m crate-trained and walk nicely on leash. I also take treats gently, and I’m fine going on car rides. I would make a great "little sister" for your existing dog or a great "first dog" for a new pet owner. Come meet me at HOPE dog adoptions, I guarantee you’ll fall in love with me.

Max

You are here:
THE SMOOCH POOCH

DOB 8/17/19, Weigh is 65 lb.

My name is Max! I think its because that’s how much I love everything (TO THE MAX)! That means chew toys, chasing balls, playing with other dogs, and people! I’m a big kisser and will probably try to snuggle you (if I’m not too wiggly with excitement). I’m also a vocal boy so if you’re not paying attention, I’ll probably give a few woofs or kisses to remind you I’m here.

Murphy #sweet-playboy

You are here:
EXCELLENT FAMILY DOG

DOB 4/30/22; EXPECTED WEIGHT 30-35 LB.

I'm Murphy, a friendly, active, people-loving, smooth-coated Portuguese Podengo “medio” mix fella with a white-tipped tail who was born in April 2022. At 6 months old, I weighed 25 pounds, but I should weigh about 30-35 pounds when I'm full grown.

I'm homeless because at my tender age, a Good Samaritan found me as a healthy but skinny stray, roaming the streets and hiding under cars. I adore my foster family for helping me put on some weight with the yummy food they serve me. I’m devoted to my foster mom and follow her everywhere around the house, and I get along great with the two small resident dogs.

I’m just a pup with the usual spurts of puppy energy. All I want to do is play, play, play! I’m even learning to fetch! So far I’ve learned to “sit,” and I’m house-broken to use the doggie door. I’m working on walking on a leash and crate training. True confessions: I’m in that “chew phase,” but fortunately I’ve learned that chewing on my toys is okay but chewing on furniture is not!

I’m just a stray hound dog, but my large, erect, triangular ears and chestnut coat with white blaze and tuxedo markings certainly make me look like a Portuguese Podengo mix. Since Podengos are relatively rare, I thought I’d tell you what you might expect as I grow up and mature.

“Medios” are in the medium-sized Portuguese Podengos. We’re lively, playful, alert, highly intelligent, and independent hounds who make excellent family companions. We’re tolerant, compliant, and eager to please our family. Loyal, easy-going, and loving, we make strong bonds with our family but can sometimes be suspicious of strangers. We learn new tricks very fast but at the same time cannot always be easy to train.

I hope there's someone in your family who wants to be my playmate! We’re funny dogs who love to play – especially a good game of chase – but can also easily entertain ourselves with toys. We’re always ready for action and excel in dog sports like agility and fly-ball. We need plenty of daily exercise to keep us both physically and mentally stimulated. If our exercise needs are not met and we're bored, we can be destructive.

We “medios” were bred to hunt rabbits, so watch out for other small household pets because the urge to chase little, furry critters has never left us. A home with older children (over 8) would likely work best since I might make smaller ones fall down with my exuberance.

I hope that my sweetly expressive face and handsome markings have caught your attention. My foster mom says that an ultra-sweet boy like me deserves a loving family who will take very good care of me. Arrange to meet me today! Warning: you may get a few mushy puppy kisses sloshed on your cheeks.

Nymeria

You are here:

Estimated DOB 11/1/2020, weight 40 lbs

Nymeria is a super sweet, energetic, love noodle! She loves to play with humans and dogs although she’s a bit too rough for toy-sized dogs.  She loves to go to the Dog Park and has perfect doggy manners at the Dog Park!

She’s crate trained (although she’s not destructive when left alone outside her crate), knows the command Sit, and takes treats gently.

This gorgeous head-turner is a medium size dog but she’s  tall and lanky. She needs a yard and /or a couple of long walks every day, and would love a medium to large size canine friend to wrestle with!

Nymeria was found roaming the streets of a neighborhood in Northwest Houston, but she’s very sociable and has obviously been in a home. Could her next, and permanent home, be with you??

Parker

You are here:
STELLAR STUDENT IN OBEDIENCE TRAINING

~ DOB 10/18/21, weight: ~50 lbs.

My name is Parker! I'm still a youngster, and the vet thinks I'm a Shepherd mixed with something else. My foster mom is a dog trainer and is teaching me all the basic commands! It's so exciting! I love to learn, so I’m picking up fast on all sorts of things.

I'm very good with other dogs, but I have a lot of puppy energy, so I’d love to have a canine playmate at my new home. I'm also good by myself because I learned how to play alone growing up outside. As long as I’ve got a few toys and a place to run, I can tire myself out.

I'm okay with cats, but I just wish they would play with me! I'm looking for a permanent home with lots of love and companionship -- something I haven’t had much of until recently. Can we be buddies?

Paulie

You are here:

Date of birth 8/1/2022, weight ~ 14 lbs

Hi, I’m Paulie! I am a sweet and cuddly puppy looking for play pals and treats! I was found along with my brothers and sisters at my foster Dad’s work. The vet thinks I am a German Shepherd/Lab Mix but my friends think I am 100% cute. I love meeting new people and pets as long as they let me give them kisses and nibbles!

I am mostly potty trained and like to learn new tricks as long as I get a treat! I like to sleep piled up in my crate with my brothers and sisters, but once I get up, I will show off my speed strength with tug and fetch.

I love to make new friends and I’ll quickly reward you with a kiss and nibble!  To see more pictures and videos of me, click on this link to my Google photo drive, https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1-Atvk54nAXFhsCeCT8uSmEQcF1Qvgrof

Penny

You are here:

Date of birth 8/1/2022, weight ~ 12 lbs

Hi, I am Penny! I’m very sweet and cuddly and would happily be a lap dog even though my foster Dad thinks I will get a little too big for that. ! I was found along with my brothers and sisters at my foster Dad’s work. The vet thinks I am a German Shepherd/Lab Mix but my friends think I am 100% cute. I love meeting new people and pets as long as they let me give them kisses and nibbles!

I am potty trained and strong willed, as the only girl in my litter I took the momma role for my brothers and still find myself playing referee to their play time. I love to sit for treats even when I’m not told to do so, and my oversized ears and darling eyes ensure I am always rewarded.

I like meeting new friends and play well with small children. I am not as mouthy as my brothers or most puppies and learn quickly. I will make a great companion to anyone who has love and belly rubs to give.  To see more pictures and videos of me, click on this link to my Google photo drive,   https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1-A6BgL6dq1530IMXR7c_8n7mhpZijL-t

Petey

You are here:

Date of birth 8/1/2022, weight ~ 14 lbs

Hi, I’m Petey! The sweetest, cutest, kiss-giving, squeaking puppy you’ll meet! I was found along with my 5 brothers and sisters at my foster Dad’s work. The vet thinks I am a German Shepherd/Lab Mix but my friends think I am 100% cute. I love meeting new people and pets as long as they let me give them kisses and nibbles!

I am still learning to potty outside, but Dad says I do a great job of letting him know when I got to go. He tells everyone how smart I am and likes to brag about how quickly I learn (especially when treats are involved)! I love sleeping in my crate in a pile with my brother Paulie and sister Penny in between our epic tug of war battles, but I am always ready to sit in a lap and get belly/ear rubs.

I can be as mischievous as any other puppy, but I prefer toys so as long as there are plenty around, I won’t steal a sock! I am very open to new dog friends and kids, I just need love, playtimes, and belly rubs!  To see more pictures and videos of me, click on this link to my Google photo drive, https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1-0JsDzDCM5aGBDvjjUMnT8rHbed2Rizi
