Abe

You are here:
Gentle, sweet kitten

My name is AbeI was put in a grocery bag and thrown into a ditch in an area where there are big dogs and scary speeding cars, but a nice lady saw what happened and came to my rescue. Despite all of the scary things that have happened to me already, I love people more than anything. My favorite spot is curled up in the arms of the small human or relaxing on a lap. I love to play with all kinds of toys, and I like chasing the big cats’ tails. I’m fearful of dogs and loud sounds. I know how to use the litter box. If you’re looking for a snuggle buddy with a loud motor, I’m your guy!

What more could you ask for? Well, how about: she's BILINGUAL! Yep, she's the complete package. Austin

You are here:

Austin and his 3 siblings were found in April by an apartment complex. They were very small kittens at the time, around 3 weeks. A neighbor picked them up and placed them with a temporary foster family where the kittens had clean and safe place to stay, plush kitten bed, lots of kitten milk, toys and attention. Austin has always been a leader of the pack. He has a curious nature and adventurous spirit and wants to be the first by the food plate. Austin can be shy around strangers at first but warms up quickly.
If you give Austin a few pets he will become your friend in no time and will visit back to your lap with loud purrs.
All Austin’s siblings have found good loving homes. Austin wants to be a lucky kitten too and is looking for a loving home for himself. A place where he can be safe, loved and spoilt.
This kitten likes company of other cats but has not been around dogs.
Austin is friendly with children and is a very playful fun kitten who’s growing fast!

Baby Bear

You are here:

Hi! I am Baby-Bear. My brother Starbuck and I were born March 7, 2017 and are the cutenesses of West U. But we're not looking to rob any honey bees or chase any white whales. We are on a quest for our furrever home with wonderful people. We like soft stuff and we love to race around. Right now it's hot, but we are oh so cool! When it gets cold we'll warm your nice soft bed, or snuggle your sleepy head! I'll sweeten your coffee for you! We love to be cute and precious and held like little babies. We're pretty sure you might need us to brighten your life with a little mischief & joy.

Come see us and apply to be our furry people. Don't forget we have an adoption fee! That's to keep the bees and whales safe! Okay, it might be for vetting, vaccines, flea treatment, etc. but we're pretending it's to keep our hunting abilities from developing.

Betty

You are here:

Hi, I'm Betty. I'm a very sweet little girl.  I love to be cuddled by my people.  I love to play with my siblings Peggy, Max, Greta and Tex.  I can be a bit of a tomboy.  I like to mix it up with my brothers.  I can do anything they can do.   They need to know I have "girl power", they might forget it.   I'm working on my cat skills.  Those are very important for little kittens to master.  I may be a rough house with my brothers but I am very gentle with my peoples.  I'm the most beautiful blue dilute tortie with a cream streak on my nose. I'm very inquisitive and will love to help you with all your projects.  We would make a wonderful team.  So pretty and sweet I would love for us to meet.

We are very happy to have a nice lady save us and help us find our furrever homes.

Cheddar

You are here:
born March 2020

Cheddar was born around March of 2020 but his foster family isn’t sure since he was dropped off at the doorstep to mingle with other feral neighborhood cats. Cheddar’s fosters took him in since he was just a little older than his foster siblings Gru, Parm and Monty. Cheddar loves to play and wrestle especially with his brother since his sisters often squeal and run away. He has a loud ferocious meow when he’s ready for lunch or if you have a treat on hand and loves to sleep so close to you (sometimes on your face!). He’s very talented and will catch (and eat) any insect crawling around.

Chloe loves to lay in the window sill in the sunshine.  She likes to have her ears rubbed and relax in her cat bed.  She's always up for some treats and to chase the laser pointer!  She is a very low maintenance cat and would like nothing more than to have a person all her own so that she can be the pampered cat she deserves to be!

Chrissie has been waiting over two years for a home to call her own. If you can offer this beautiful, tuxedo girl a forever family, please complete a HOPE application.

Cini

You are here:
This Russian Blue does everything but vacuum!
DOB Sept 2019 - The name Cini means blue in Russian! She loves to give and get kisses! She has a foster brother and sister that she plays with and grooms. She's talkative and will bring you the ball to throw and fetch when the other playmates are worn out! When the vacuum cleaner is pulled out, she thinks it's playtime and she will chase it and try to bat it! She would be lonely by herself so she needs to have a playmate. She gets along with cats and she would probably be good with cat-friendly dogs.

Cissy

You are here:

Born in May, 2017, Cissy and her sister Sassy were rescued from an apartment complex in SW Houston where children were torturing small animals and hawks were looking for their next meal. When the two small kittens were rescued, Cissy was ill and her sister was helping her. While recovering at the vet they put out their paws and made contact between their two crates - always staying in touch.

Cissy still has a few health issues, but they don't stop her from running and playing. She has so much energy and is usually the last one to bed and the first one up! Perhaps she is making up for the time when she was not able to play. Her older Foster Brother loves to pounce on his sisters, who squeal and run. Can you add Cissy to your family and give her a forever home?

Dimitri was found hanging around with group of stray cats early June. A lady who came to feed the cats noticed a soft meow in the darkness of the night. Using a flashlight, she discovered disoriented Dmitri hiding inside junk pipes on the back yard of an abandoned house.

Dimitri was nervous and starving but smart to approach the lady for food. Sweet Dimitri was grabbed and taken to the lady's home and became her foster cat. He realized he was in a safe place with plenty of food and company and showed his sweet personality.
Dimitri is gentle and likes other cats with sweet and friendly disposition. He is looking forward to finding his forever home.

I play hard with my foster people and other cats in the house, but I like to slow down and lounge on a lap or the couch when I get tired. I love exploring and enjoy climbing to high-up places. I am curious about the dogs in my foster home, especially the smaller one who wants to be my friend. I beg to be the center of attention most of the time, but on my own terms (for this reason, I probably shouldn't be around babies or small children). I would love to have a person or family of my very own, preferably one who will play with me A LOT and has another younger cat and I can play with.

Golden-eyed beauty ready for own her pedestal!

Gemma is a gorgeous, long-haired blue and white female kitty.  She has been a fantastic, young mom to her kittens: Crockett, Frisco, Georgia, Memphis, and Raleigh. See video  https://youtu.be/sfKzdOl7FVk   One example, when it is canned food time, Gemma always lets her kittens eat first.  It is now time for her to be the pampered, little princess that she so deserves to be!   DOB 9/01/2019

Gemma's story starts out sad but has a happy ending: a tenant of an apartment complex by Almeda Mall moved out and abandoned Gemma.  Gemma quickly because fast friends with the maintenance men of the complex who fed her and called her "Gem" because they thought her eyes looked like beautiful jewels. Later, Gemma's 5 kittens were born on 4-11-2020 in the outdoor closet of one of the tenants.

Sweet and affectionate, Gemma is an extremely vocal young lady.  As she strolls through the house, she "talks" to let everyone know where she is.  Gemma is ready to have her own kittenhood — play with toys and have some of her own fun — now that her work with her kittens is done!  Could you offer this to sweet Gemma?  HOPE ID 20-0521-D002

Luna

You are here:

Born around March 1, 2019, Luna was abandoned when she was found pregnant by her irresponsible owner. She ended up having her babies in an old milk can I a neighbor's yard. Fortunately, HOPE was able to get Luna and her babies into a foster home. Luna's babies are grown and now she needs a home where she can feel wanted.

Luna is very hesitant around strangers so doesn't show well at adoption events. She is also afraid of other aggressive cats. We believe Luna would do best in a quiet home where she can receive lots of snuggling and affection. Who can give this underdog some love?

Madeline

You are here:
Born 7/4/2019

Born July 4, 2019, Madeline had a hard life on the streets. Due to poor nutrition and lack of vet care, she was a sad case. One night in taking refuge in an open garage, she surprised the home owner by having 6 babies. She was very lucky to have landed in an animal loving g home since the lady decided to foster them for HOPE.

Madeline is still recovering from her hard life and nursing 6 babies, but she is ready for a home of her own. She isn't the prettiest kitty at the moment as all of her long hair has not grown back.  But she is a calm, sweet kitty needing a home where she can be treated like a princess. FYI, first picture is Madeline now and the 2nd is what we believe she will look like when her hair grows back.  Who is willing to give Madline a chance?

Marshmallow

Salvage Yard Daisies

I'm Marshmallow.  I'm the sweet curious boy with big eyes.  I have cute spots on my head and a bent tail.  (We don't know what happened)   I have big long legs so I'll probably be a tall boy.   I'm almost a professional soccer player.  I use "the legs" as my goal posts.  The fuzz ball must stay with the legs.  We play jumping and dancing on "the legs" to get the fuzzy. I've got the moves!  I like to be on someone.  Especially if it means I can play king of the mountain on the legs.  I love to guard the legs from my brother and sisters.  I jump at my siblings and spit at them protecting my prized spot on top of leg mountain.  I make it the best game!  I'm now out of the baby room causing excitement and joy all over the house!

I'm also a very helpful companion in the bathroom.  I love drawers! (tmi I know) Don't worry, cats are very clean. The There's nothing better than to play in the sweat pants/shorts.  They've got strings and pockets and hidey holes. I get my siblings from my secret lair in the shorts. They are a great place to play.  I've got the cutest personality to go along with all this fun.  I'm looking for an awesome human team.  We can be number one!

Background: Hello everybody!  We are five cutie pies FlanneryIsabella,  PansyCoffee & Cream and Marshmallow.  Well look at us, popping up like daisies in the junkyard!  Pretty babies don't belong here. A nice lady took one look at photos of us on the radiators and said: "That's not right."  So she rescued us and got our mommy fixed up too.  We had to have a bath to get all the oil and dirt off and then we had to have a good snuggle. We started eating like good little piggies. We got our vetting done. Now we are already for forever homes with lots of love and entertainment for our families/cat parents

Hi! I'm Max. - For Maximum!  I reach maximum speed racing and chasing my brother Tex.  I've maxed my kitten cuteness card over the limit.  I'm sporting maximum red tabby stripes direct from Haute Cature.  So you know I'm very stylish.  I have maximum fun wrestling and practicing my kitten skills.  I eat the maximum amout of good food so I can race Tex to the largest kitten on record.  When I get through being all "on" at maximum energy I like to unwind and charge my Kitthium batteries in a nice snuggly lap.  We could watch some tv or read an enriching book.  I'll bring maximum purrs to our unwind relaxation station.  My little vibrations will be like a rainbow of happiness.

My siblings Greta, Betty, Peggy and Tex are also high on the maximum sweetness scale. Check them out too!

We are very thankful for the nice ladies who rescued us and are helping us find our furrever homes.

Murphy

You are here:

The only thing more beautiful than this Siamese/Snowshoe's looks is his heart. He is an old school romantic. His favorite movie is Casablanca; and he prefers cozy nights in with wine over being the life of the party out on the town. Due to his initially reserved demeanor, we recommend either an experienced cat owner or a committed adopter with a big heart and loving patience. Remember, this is the type of classic lover boy that wants to bond with you for life. He takes his time. He views this as a life long partnership, not some cheap speed dating event.  He want's to slowly get to know you and will thrive in a quiet home where he can have his individual space to decompress. Loud noises and sudden movements "ruin the mood" for him. Thus, busy homes with small rowdy children would not be best. Murphy is a hard cat to photograph properly due to his insatiable need to  hold you.  He is a cuddly, affectionate bundle of paws who craves attention and a stomach to sleep on.

Muse

You are here:

Estimated date of birth is 3/2/19.

Muse is a stunningly beautiful classic brown tabby.  She and her kittens were rescued by a Good Samaritan and through a couple of turns, they found their way to HOPE's cat adoption program.

Muse is an independent sort of girl, she likes attention and pets for a while but then she's happy to jump down and do something else.  She likes sitting in the window sill watching the birds and squirrels and she especially likes Temptations treats!  Muse is being fostered at a cattery but she'd be most happy to have a person all her own, one that she didn't have to share with other cats.

If you are interested in Muse and would like to fill out an application, go to: http://www.homelesspets.net/adoption-forms/cat-adoption.php . You may fax the completed application to 713-721-9560 or mail it to HOPE at PO Box 273331, Houston, TX 77277. Nicki

You are here:
Striking black beauty, ready for adoption!

Born in October 2017, Nicki and her sister Chrissie, were rescued from an apartment complex in SW Houston. She is a quiet kitty who enjoys sleeping in her hammock, being brushed and eating Temptation treats.  Like sisters everywhere, the two girls argue over taking turns in the hammock and getting an even share of the treats.  Nicki has a sleek black coat and piercing yellow-green eyes.  If you have a quiet home to offer Nicki, please contact HOPE.

Pacino

You are here:
Spooning, Teddy Bear of a Cat

Being loved, giving love, eating and playing with his toys – that’s what’s important to this Pacino!

Pacino had to be someone's pet at some point because he is so affectionate. He is also very vocal.  He trills and talks to us all day.  Pacino is also very aware of where his foster mom is in the house and often shadows her. At night, he snuggles up next to her for tv time. Then for lights out, he stretches out the length of his body up against his foster mom and sleeps next to her all night. DOB 6/01/2018

Mistakenly notched at the ear as a feral, handsome Pacino is nothing but a green-eyed bundle of love who has never met a stranger.  He eagerly seeks to know visitors to the house and love on them, too.  Pacino also gets along with all of his furry friends in his foster family’s house – cats and dogs alike (children, too, but, thankfully, they aren’t furry)   https://vm.tiktok.com/JjRAj7y/  If the TikTok links don’t work for you, please copy and paste them into your browser.

In this video, you can see how Pacino stole his foster family’s heart. Look how desperately he wanted to be inside!  This was outside of a family’s home in Alief where he was discovered.  https://vm.tiktok.com/Jeh1XGQ/

Pacino has an eye infection that has to be treated twice per day with eye ointment, but it is steadily improving. He is not contagious around fully-vaccinated cats. Pacino is kind of resigned to the eye treatments and will hang his legs a la Winnie the Pooh (“okay, let’s just get it over with”): https://vm.tiktok.com/JNpq8VS/. He also likes to fetch and SITS on command!  https://vm.tiktok.com/JeBJens/  What else could YOU teach him to do?

Al Pacino once said, “You’re only as good as the chances you take.”   Won’t you take a chance on Pacino and give him a place he can call home?   This lover boy will not let you down... he will be your LOYAL companion ❤️

**For MORE PICTURES of Pacino, please go to http:// www.petfinder.com  Click on “Find a Cat” and then SCROLL DOWN TO BOTTOM LEFT to search by Pet Name**  If you are interested in Pacino and would like to fill out a Cat Adoption Application, please go to: http://www.homelesspets.net/adoption-forms/cat-adoption.php. Parm

You are here:
born 4/1/2020

Parm - short for parmesan - was born on April fools this year and is the diva among her siblings Gru, Monty, and Cheddar. She loves to be chased so she can sneak away, but will come back purring to your side to scratch her chin. She loves paper balls and is a mama’s girl. Whenever her mom Auto enters the room, Parm runs squealing to rub against her mommy. Parm loves to play but also likes her alone time to get her beauty sleep.

Peggy

You are here:

Hi, I'm Peggy. I'm a very sweet little girl.  I'm the explorer.  The house is my oyster and I am taking it over.  I love to run, race and chase and climb.  The cat tree is my mountain and I have summitted Mount Meowverest many times.  I have kitten stuff to do.  High achiever is in my DNA.  I've won several gold medals for pounce and tag.  I'm currently earning my House Geographics Explorer award.  I think I will have it mastered very shortly.  I'll be looking for my new adventure  in my furrever home with great new quests of exploration to forge.  In between my great adventures I'll need to cuddle and snuggle with you as I love to do.

I love to play with my siblings Betty, Max, Greta and Tex.  They help me safari the den and brave the great peaks of the living room.

We are very happy to have a nice lady save us and help us find our furrever homes.

Pike

You are here:

Born in June 2015, this beautiful boy is a complete sweetheart! He loves attention and would gladly sit on his foster mom's lap or next to her until the end of time.

He is a gentle guy who would do best in a home with adults-only home or in one with older, pet-friendly children. He does well with other cats who are gentle like him and enjoys playing with his current foster kitten sister, but would be just fine as an only cat. He currently lives with well trained, cat-friendly dogs, whom he ignores

Princess

You are here:
My name fits me perfectly!

Princess is one of five cats abandoned after her elderly owner, who had dementia,  had to go to the hospital and never came home. Despite her sad situation, there is no doubt that her owner adored her and took care of her as best she could.

Princess gets along well with most other cats and small dogs although she likes to be the Diva and eat first!   She purrs loudly when being petted or brushed and likes to carry on conversations with her foster mom.  She's great company - she will follow you around the house but she's not much of a lap cat.  This 'princess' would love to have a permanent home where she can spend time in the window sill watching the birds and squirrels and get head/ear scratches!

Princess

You are here:

Born in July 2016, Princess was rescued after a tragic loss...she had lost her baby at a parking lot. Two of her babies, Lookie & Cookie, survived and were adopted by a loving family through HOPE. Now it’s Princess’s turn…she is looking for a quiet home with no dogs or cats. She’s a very independent, sweet cat. She has that sassy attitude because she knows she’s a princess. But don’t worry, she’s well behaved and loves to sleep by your feet. Princess loves modeling and knowing that she’s got your attention when she’s posing for a picture.

Raleigh

You are here:
I am purring before I am even in your lap!

Raleigh is the last one to be adopted in his litter and no one can figure out why!  This black and white tuxedo boy is so handsome, soft, and sweet.  He loves it when his aunt comes over to visit.  Raleigh hops into her lap where she holds him upside down like a baby and massages his little ears until he’s in a kitten trance (see picture in video).  https://vm.tiktok.com/JjhmFCX/  If the TikTok link doesn’t work for you, please copy and paste it into your browser.

Look at Raleigh's beautiful nose and those adorable white ear tufts! He also has these very symmetrical and regal-looking, black markings near the inside corners of his eyes that remind us of the make-up the ancient Egyptians wore.  DOB 4/11/2020

Raleigh is accustomed to the busy home of his foster family’s kids, dogs, cats, and his siblings (who have all been adopted): Crockett, Frisco, Georgia, Memphis, and their mother, Gemma (still available for adoption). Raleigh is all about playing and has recently discovered that he loves the YouTube videos for cats (seen in video)! He plays hard but once he’s tired, he’s ready to cuddle up and purr on his favorite human’s lap, in the crook of their knees as they sleep, or maybe in the top of the cat tree.   HOPE ID 20-0521-D007 NOP

Razor

Born 4/18/2020

Hi I'm Razor, but don't let me name scare you. I run fast. I like things I can pick up in my mouth and run around with. I also like cardboard boxes, jingle balls and playing hide'n'seek in blankets and sheets. I think I'm helping my foster Mom, but not sure she agrees. My favorite afternoon activity is naps in laps. Do you have a lap I can cuddle up in?

Roger

You are here:

My name is Roger and I showed up at a colony of feral cats in April 2020. Since I was smaller than all the other cats and was missing an eye due to a nasty accident a few weeks prior, I spent most of my time sleeping right around the food sources. I was taken in from the colony and I have never been back to life outside. It turns out that I love being around my foster sisters and my foster parents. I love to talk at everyone as I run around the house. I still love playing like a crazy kitten until I pass out in one of my favorite comfy spots around the house. I love to wrap myself around your ankle and rest my head on your foot and purr while I make biscuits. I love to play fetch with my favourite toys and I am quite the talker even though my parents laugh at my high pitched squeak. I love being held on my back like a baby while you rub my cheeks and belly. I am shy with new people but am not skittish. I started life as a feral cat and lived a few rough months on the streets of Houston, but I have become a huge love bug.

Now Sassy loves to run and play. Her older Foster Brother loves to pounce on his sisters, who squeal and run. Sassy is a sweetie who would love to have a forever home. Can you open your heart for her?

Hi! I'm Tex.  I'm a Texas size kitten.   I'm aiming to be real BIG!  As big as I am I have a Texas size personality to match.  Always the character to make people laugh.  My siblings Greta, Betty, Peggy and Max all look up to me.  I'm the leader in the family and I set a good example for my siblings.  I teach them how to wrestle real good.  Sometimes I let them win.  My Texas size personality comes with Texas size purrs.  I'm very happy with myself.  "Have you seen? I'm AWESOME!"  I'm confident in my abilities to charm and warm people's hearts.  I have a very cheerful disposition; I love being happy all the time.  Pick me up and I will purr you a song so sweet it's sure to soothe your soul.

Twilight

You are here:
Lap cat kitten

Twilight is an affectionate, beautiful little sweetheart who loves to be held or most of the time sleeps in her foster’s lap. When she is done playing and is tired, she wants to sleep in your lap instead of elsewhere.

Even though she is a dainty and sweet little miss, Twilight loves to play hard. And so, naturally, she will later sleep very hard — in your lap. If you don’t like a cat sleeping in your lap most of the time, she is not for you. If you are sitting, she is persistent in sleeping in your lap. Twilight is also used to being around her foster’s other foster kitten Lily. HOPE ID# 20-0623-E011
