You are here:
LOVES TO BE CARRIED AROUND

DOB 7/12/21

Are you looking for a uniquely marked tabby kitty who has small cheetah-like spots on his sides instead of the typical tabby stripes? Well I’m the man! Meow! Meow, everyone! I'm Noel, your perfect feline companion! I'm a very friendly, affectionate, loving, easygoing, and active cream-colored “spotted” tabby fella.

My foster mom calls me her favorite "lap cat" and her "bed buddy" because I love to snuggle. She rescued me as a baby who needed to be bottle-fed, so I love being carried around.  I live with cats and dogs, so I get along well with other cats and cat-friendly dogs.

Why am I a "special needs" kitty? I was recently diagnosed with diabetes insipidus, a rare, relatively harmless disorder that causes my body to make too much urine. It’s easily controlled with daily eye drops. However, I will need an experienced owner who can give me my drops every day and monitor my drinking as well as...um...my “output” in case the dosage needs to be adjusted by the vet. Easy peasy!

No reason for you to pass me by since I’m such a lovable and loving spotted guy. Arrange to meet me today! My heart has so much love to give that all I need is YOU!

HOPE ID 21-0814-A050

Submitting an application does not obligate you to adopt, but it initiates contact with us and gets the process started.  If you have questions prior to filling out the application, email us at hope@homelesspets.net, and a volunteer will get back to you.

While his personality doesn't show well initially, give this ninja cat time to adjust, and he will show you some slick moves. Achilles has been described as a bulldozer, a karate boy, a snuggler...you just need to take this guy home to decide for yourself. Achilles might just steal your heart

Albert #rambunctious-playmate

BONDS DEEPLY WITH HIS HOOMAN

DOB 5/5/23

Hey there, everyone! I’m Albert, a handsome blue-eyed prince of a flame-point Siamese mix fella. I get an A+ for being an affectionate cuddler because I love to jump in Foster Daddy’s lap and then fall asleep on his chest. We have a great time binging on Animal Planet and Netflix together. Of course I’m extremely vocal and outgoing like many Siamese mixes, so I’m a spectacular conversationalist when he needs to talk about his day.

But I’m no couch potato! No siree! I’m an athletic and rambunctious boy who likes to play rough! This works out great when Foster Daddy waves the wand toy over my head; however, I need another teenage kitty or hooman teenager who wants to play as rough as I do because I could overpower a small kitten, senior cat, or toddler with my roughhousing. The good thing is that I’m very responsive when Foster Daddy reprimands me or redirects my naughty behavior. (It helps that I’m very food-motivated.)

I was obviously someone’s misplaced or abandoned seven-month-old pet when I showed up several times wailing my head off at the front door of Foster Daddy’s apartment. He was able to resist bringing me inside until a violent winter thunderstorm dumped torrential rain. Boy howdy! I was grateful to kiss the hardscrabble outdoor life behind! That life -- for sure – is not for me!

Friendly and stunning as I am, my previous caretaker had not neutered or microchipped me, as Foster Daddy learned when he tried to locate my owner. So he promised to foster me until he could find me a forever home the next time around. Of course he “fixed” me so I’d never again be a ramblin’ man like when I previously heard the call of the wild. I fit in well with the two resident cats, although they don’t always appreciate my being a whippersnapper who wants to play all the time.

If you’re looking for a Siamese mix fella with Frank Sinatra eyes who has all the breed’s endearing traits -- very sociable, resonantly vocal, bonds deeply with my hooman – I’m the dude for you! Arrange to meet me today. My heart has so much love to give – all I need is YOU!

Alice #sister-of-Tris

You are here:
DREAMILY LOOKS UP INTO YOUR EYES

DOB 8/7/22

Mew! Mew, everyone! I’m Alice, a sweet, curious, playful Turkish Van mix gal who’s mostly white with gray tabby on my head and tail. Everyone falls in love with me when my beautiful face stares up into their eyes. I love food, love to play, and love to investigate my surroundings.

I was rescued by a kind woman who found me and my sisters Tris, Lucy, and Victoria as orphaned kittens when we were so young that we needed to be bottle-fed. Once we were eating on our own, our tenderhearted future Foster Meowmy responded to the plea on the HOPE FaceBook page that we needed someone to foster us until we were adopted. She brought us to our foster home, where we enjoy tumbling and pouncing, climbing and wrestling with each other until we collapse in a kitten puddle. I’m a happy girl whose life is a repeated cycle of play-sleep-eat.

Since we were bottle-fed and familiar with being handled by hoomans, we’ve always been very friendly and sociable – even with strangers. In fact, we come out to meet visitors! Although we haven’t been around kids in our foster home, I’m sure we’d be fine with well-mannered children because we’ve been very comfortable around the Great Pyrenees dog (I really bonded to him.) and the other resident cats. These kitties have acted like aunts and uncles who've taught us everything that our momma would've taught us if she'd been around.

I hope that I’ve piqued your interest and that you’ll arrange to meet me! Consider adopting me with my sister Tris. Two is better than one, and we could keep each other company while you’re at work or on vacation.

Angel #loving-uncle

You are here:
SHOULDER RIDER

DOB 10/31/22

Meow! Meow, everyone! I’m Angel, a.k.a. Uncle Angel to the younger foster kittens because I’m so nurturing and protective. I’m a sweet, quiet, and affectionate solid-gray Russian Blue/Chartreux mix fella with big round copper-penny eyes who adores my foster meowmy and shows my affection by cuddling with her or perching on her shoulder.

I’m a playful fella who enjoys romping with the other foster cats and kittens, and I’m an enthusiastic fan of wand toys like Da Bird. I also like to keep a watchful eye that the older kittens behave and don’t play too rough with the little ones. The top of the cat tree is my favorite vantage for me to rule as king of my domain!

My hooman surrendered me to the vet for euthanasia because I had really unsightly skin lesions on my chest and tummy. Fortunately the vet diagnosed that I did not have cancer but severe flea allergies. The vet turned to my future Foster Meowmy to ask if she could find me a new home, and she stepped up to the plate like a champ.

I’m pleased to report that after several months of being on Bravecto 3-month flea preventative and ZD prescription food, my skin is completely clear. I’m back to my stunningly handsome Russian Blue self again! True confessions: for the rest of my life I’ll likely have to eat prescription ZD food and promptly receive my flea preventative in order to prevent my skin allergy from raising its ugly head again.

Arrange to meet me today! I’m hoping that once you see my sweet face and experience my gentle demeanor, you’ll overlook my possible special-food needs and take me home with you. Your reward will be my sincere gratitude as well as a lifetime of love and cuddles.

Astro #lucky-star-litter

You are here:
HEARTY EATER OF THE BUNCH

DOB 3/9/24

Hey there, everyone! I’m Astro, an active and playful black DSH/Bombay mix fella. I’m one of five in the #lucky-star-litter, and I’m the big eater of the bunch. I’m always the first one to arrive at the food bowl, and Foster Meowmy says that I gobble so much food that I must have a hollow leg. I love my siblings and don’t mean to deprive them of their sustenance, but what can I say – I’m a hearty boy with a hearty appetite! And then it’s nap time . . .

Aurora, Orion, Eclipse, Nebula, and I were born to a stray community cat who was hanging out at an apartment complex. Momma brought us inside a nice lady’s apartment and just made herself at home. The nice lady fed Momma for while she was nursing us; only problem was that the nice lady wasn’t allowed to have pets in her apartment. Fortunately her good friend is a regular HOPE foster meowmy, and she stepped up to the plate and brought us home to foster when we were 6.5 weeks old and fully weaned.

We fit in great with the other resident cats as well as the dog, and all of them act as great surrogate aunts and uncles. And we all love it that Foster Meowmy’s home is fully equipped with toys for us to play soccer with and to chase as we flip in the air. Of course, my siblings and I tumble and pounce, wrestle and climb with each other, and then we collapse in a kitten puddle when we’re exhausted.

Now I’m ready for a forever home of my own. Arrange to meet me, and consider adopting me with one of the #lucky-star-litter so we can keep each other company while you’re at work or on vacation.

VELCRO LAP KITTEN

DOB 3/9/24

Hey there, everyone! I’m Aurora, a sweet, affectionate, and cuddly black DSH/Bombay mix gal who’s a Velcro kitty because I stick close to my hoomans. I’m the one of the five in the #lucky-star-litter who especially loves people and likes to spend quality time in Foster Meowmy’s lap. I luxuriate when she pets me and scratches my ears, chin, or cheeks, and that’s when I turn on my purr motor. Sometimes I have to be a bit vocal so Foster Meowmy gives me the attention I crave, but my persistence pays off.

Eclipse, Astro, Nebula, Orion, and I were born to a stray community cat who was hanging out at an apartment complex. Momma brought us inside a nice lady’s apartment and just made herself at home. Aurora #sister-of-Nyx

You are here:
UPSIDE-DOWN HEART BY HER NOSE

DOB 3/6/24

Hey there, everyone! I’m Aurora, and I’m a 100% sweet but initially shy tuxedo gal with a generously large white vest, tummy, and mittens. I look like my twin sister Nyx except I’m the one with the upside-down heart around my nose. No wonder I’m a sweetheart (wink)!

I’m a brave Marco Polo explorer who enjoys investigating all the nooks and crannies around the house. Foster Meowmy calls me Little Miss Independent because I can entertain myself so well. I enjoy playing soccer with the chirping cat toys, batting at wand toys waved by the resident teenagers, but most of all tumbling and pouncing, wrestling and climbing with Nyx or the other foster kittens. I don’t really mind the two large, cat-friendly resident dogs because they leave me alone.

Foster Meowmy brought my neighborhood stray momma inside her garage during the January freeze. Since Momma was eating two cans of food a day, Meowmy realized that she was probably pregnant. Sure enough -- Nyx and I were born in foster care.

Although we’re available separately, it’d be the cat’s meow if Nyx and I could be adopted together. That way we could keep each other company while you're at work or on vacation. Arrange to meet me today! I have so much joy to give – all I need is YOU!

Axl Rose #brother-of-Noto

You are here:
ALWAYS LOOKING FOR A LAP FOR CUDDLING

DOB 4/15/23

Meow! Meow, everyone! I’m Axl Rose, a sweet, affectionate, and outgoing black DSH/Bombay mix fella who was named after the hard-rock American lead singer of Guns N’ Roses. I have a sleek, shiny coat and am distinguished from my twin black brothers by my heart-shaped face and my gravelly voice. I’m gentle and will patiently wait for Foster Meowmy’s lap to be available for cuddling. When she’s busy, I snuggle with my twin brother Noto, with whom I’m especially bonded.

I’m an energetic young fellow who especially likes to display my athletic prowess as I lunge and leap when Foster Meowmy waves the wand toy over my head. Plus I’m actually very polite about sharing the wand toy with my siblings. And of course, I tumble and pounce, climb and wrestle with my four brothers. (Sister Cali doesn’t like to rough-house with the gang.) I prefer a quiet home because I often am skittish when I hear sudden noises.

I was born to a feral momma whom Foster Meowmy eventually trapped, spayed, and returned to her neighborhood. When we were ready to be weaned, Foster Meowmy snapped up my #dark-n-shady-six litter and brought us inside to safety and to socialize us for our future fantastic homes. Arrange to meet me today, and consider adopting me with my twin brother Noto. That way we can keep each other company while you’re at work or on vacation.

SHY ROMANTIC GUY

DOB 9/10/22

Looking for a bedfellow? One who won't take all the blankets or infringe on your personal space? Bagheera, which is Hindi for "panther," may be the guy for you. He's extremely shy and will take time to adjust to your home, but once he does, he'll be your constant companion. He won't ask for much but will want to be with you and occasionally sit in your lap. His second favorite place to rest is on an ottoman or in a cardboard box.

Are you a patient, caring person? Bagheera would love to meet you.

Bagheera & Mowgli #jungle-book-boys

You are here:
BONDED PAIR OF LITTLE BLACK PANTHERS

DOB 9/10/22

Did you watch Disney’s “The Jungle Book” and fall in love with Bagheera, the black panther, and Mowgli, the orphan boy whom Bagheera mentors? Well, we’re bonded brothers who are the feline versions of these storybook friends, and we’d just love to make our home with you! We’re sweet, affectionate, initially shy black DSH/Bombay mix fellas with sleek, shiny patent-leather coats and big copper-penny eyes. Bombay mixes are often called Velcro cats because we like to stick close to our hoomans, and we’re both no exception.

When we were orphaned kittens about six months old, our foster meowmy rescued us from dumpster-diving at the Jusgo/Sugar Land grocery store. We were so happy to kiss our hardscrabble life behind! Once we adjusted to brimming food bowls, clean water, soft beds, and other amenities of indoor life, Foster Meowmy became our hero and constant companion.

Bagheera says, “I was extremely shy at first, but she gave me time to adjust. Now I sleep with her, occasionally jump in her lap, and always want to be close to her. I love to rest on the adjacent ottoman or an empty cardboard box.”

Mowgli says, “I don’t necessarily like to be picked up, but I'll jump on Foster Meowmy’s lap so she can scratch my ears, chin, and cheeks. Foster Meowmy calls me her ‘shadow cat’ because I follow her from room to room since I just like to be with her. I’m a playful dude who loves any and all cat toys. In fact, I can turn anything into a toy -- a paper bag, a cardboard box, paper-wad, or a bottle cap. You get the idea."

Now we’re ready to find our forever home. We clam up at HOPE adoption days because of all the noise and chaos, so we might not show our ideal personalities until we came to your home on a sleepover/trial adoption. Foster Meowmy realizes that we are very bonded and therefore thinks that we'd do best if adopted together, and HOPE will reduce our adoption fee if we go as a bonded pair. That’s best anyway because we can keep each other company while you’re at work or on vacation.

If you can be as tender, patient, and caring as our foster meowmy has been in allowing us to settle in and warm up to our new surroundings, we’re the fellas for you! We’re low-maintenance, don’t demand a lot, but give so much in return. Let’s write a new chapter in our lives together!

Banksy #graffiti-boy

You are here:
STREET URCHIN TO PAMPERED PET

DOB 4/28/23

Have you ever seen a kitten whose body looks like a canvas that a graffiti artist has started splashing with tiny spots of black paint? Meow! Meow, everyone! I’m Banksy, a sweet and playful fella who’s pure white except for a black semi-colon between my ears. I’m one of the #graffiti-boys who were all named after graffiti street-artists because our momma Clara birthed us on the mean streets of Houston. The good news is that I’m a little street urchin no longer. No siree! I’ve been babied, cuddled, and kissed ever since I was rescued and started living in my foster home, where I eat yummy culinary delights and sleep on soft down pillows! Yep, I’m truly a pauper-turned-prince!

My brothers, Zephyr and Donti, and I are fascinated by everything in the bathroom. That’s because there’s all kinds of great things there -- toilet paper, paper towels, rugs, humans, toys, shampoo, water, and our favorite, the occasional roach. I can’t describe the fun of rolling ping pong balls and cat spring-toys – anything with curves – along the sides of the bathtub like it’s the perfect skateboard park.

And it’s fun to sit on the edge of the tub and play hide-and-seek behind the shower curtain. We’ve destroyed a few shower curtains by batting each other with our little claws, but Foster Meowmy thinks that’s a small price to pay for the hours of enjoyment we have playing peek-a-boo through the clear plastic.

If you’re looking for hours of entertainment with a handsome fella’s who’s a feast to the eyes, I’m your man! Arrange to meet me today, and consider adopting me with both of my brothers or momma Clara so we can keep each other company while you’re at work or on vacation. Just think – you can get all your cat-needs met with our little Instacat family.

SASSY AND BEAUTIFUL

DOB 1/1/17

Hi there! I’m Barbie, an affectionate, sweet-faced bicolor tabby gal who’s mostly white with silver tabby on my head, torso, and tail. I’m an outgoing, spunky, but opinionated little lady who absolutely loves to cuddle in my foster meowmy’s lap.

I’m a playful girl whose favorite things are kitty tunnels, boxes, and toy mice. When I need a "time out" after playing or from my housemates, I  prefer to bask in sunbeams on the windowsill or curl up on top of the refrigerator.

I get along pretty well with other foster kitties and would do well in a household with a laid-back cat or dog but probably not with small children. Arrange to meet me today!

Bas #loves-dogs-and cats

You are here:
GOLDEN BOY

DOB 4/11/22

Hey there, everyone! I’m Bas, a happy, sweet-natured, very playful tawny “tuxedo” tabby with white mittens and vest. I snuggle up beside Foster Meowmy so we can binge together on Animal Planet or Netflix. But I’m no couch potato! No siree! I love to play soccer with foam balls, sparkly puffs, and cat spring toys. I’m quite dog-like in that I actually play fetch with the toys Foster Meowmy throws, and sometimes I even bring them back.

I was found as an orphan stray, but thankfully HOPE stepped in to find me a forever home. I fit in immediately to the dynamics of my foster home, so I get along great with the resident dogs and lead the other cats during our playtimes. (Somebody’s got to coach them!) During my quieter moments, I like to bask in a patch of warm sunshine and observe everything that walks, scampers, or flies by.

Arrange to meet me today! My ideal family would have other cats and friendly dogs to keep me company while you’re at work or on vacation. And don’t forget to have a supply of my favorite treat, Churus squeezables. Plus I like to lick the lids of my canned food.

Birdie is in search of a quiet home where she can have time to adjust to a new home and her new family. Once settled in, she loves sitting in laps to purr quietly and contentedly.

The things Birdie loves are:

- cat trees in front of window sills or window seats where she can look out and talk to the birds.

- tunnels or Amazon boxes that she can rest or run through.

- other kitties to snuggle up with or even friendly dogs

- quiet nights in your lap watching Animal Planet or watching your cursor on the monitor.  Please help Birdie find her forever home before she becomes just another full-grown tabby cat.

Bloom #chatty-Cathy-doll

You are here:
CAN BE A BALL OF ZOOMING ENERGY

DOB 12/8/22

Hey there, everyone! I’m Bloom, a sweet, talkative, playful silver tabby gal with big, green eyes who likes to tell you how I feel about things! Foster Meowmy rescued me as a neighborhood stray. Boy howdy, I was glad when she brought me inside to safety! At first I was very shy and skittish as I allowed hands, loud noises, and new people to frighten me.

Thank heavens Foster Meowmy knew to be patient with me, and it wasn’t too long before I came out of my shell and starting displaying my rambunctious personality. I can transform into a ball of energy who zooms around the house and plays with anything because, in my eyes, everything is a toy – including fingers and toes.

I also have a cuddly side to my personality as I like to sleep in bed with Foster Meowmy. My favorite post-playtime activity is basking in a patch of sunshine at the top of the cat tree. My ideal home would be a quiet one with one other male cat, although I tolerate the resident dogs in my foster home.

Arrange to meet me today so I can play “tootsie” with you! True confessions: the noise at adoption day makes me cower in my cage, but I hope you'll still want to take me home to see my "zoomies" in action. Incidentally, there are advantages to adopting a kitty like me who's past the stage of kitten mayhem. I'm much less likely to cause chaos in your home and break your cherished accessories.

Button #cute-as-a-button

You are here:
PLAYS SO HARD WITH THE WAND TOY THAT SHE PANTS

DOB 9/1/20

Hey there, everyone! I earned my name Button because I’m “cute as a button.” I’m a petite, affectionate, playful tuxedo gal with an adorable stripe down my nose. I love it so much when Foster Meowmy scratches my chin, cheeks, and ears that I turn on my purr motor and “make biscuits” to show my ecstasy. Sometimes I give her “sandpaper kisses” with my tongue, and on very special occasions I’ll curl up next to her or in her lap for a nap.

I really enjoy all different kinds of cat toys, i.e. tower of balls, cat tunnel, catnip mice, and crinkle balls, but wand toys are my favorite because they let me show off my athletic prowess. I totally focus when I lunge and pounce as Foster Meowmy waves it over my head, and I can get so lost in the moment that I start panting to catch my breath.

In my quieter, low-key moments, I’ll find a patch of sunshine on the window ledge so I can watch all the wildlife scamper, climb, or fly by me. I’m perfectly content to spend the day napping while Foster Meowmy’s at work, and as soon as she returns, I run up to greet her by winding around her legs to plant my pheromones.

I was found as a “spicy” kitten in Foster Meowmy’s neighbor’s yard, and, because I was scared of people, I was released outside after I was spayed. I grew up among the neighborhood stray cats and was a faithful diner at the colony feeding station.  However, over the next few years, I grew to trust my feeders/caretakers. So when I was injured during a cat fight, I decided to come inside and allow Foster Meowmy to treat me in my recovery.

Once inside, I realized that the pampered indoor life has big advantages, i.e. brimming food and water bowls, temperature control, and safety from predators. I’d never enjoyed delicious treats, catnip, or wet food before! So I’m relieved to kiss the hardscrabble life good-bye and anticipate finding a loving forever home for this next phase of my life. Could that be with you? Arrange to meet me today! I promise to leave tiny paw prints all over your heart. Incidentally, there are advantages to adopting a kitty like me who's past the mayhem of kittenhood. I'm much less likely to cause chaos in your home or break any of your treasured accessories.

Clara #dainty-green-eyed-beauty

You are here:
JOINS IN THE ROUGHHOUSING WITH HER BOYS

DOB 4/14/21

Mew! Mew, everyone! I’m Clara, a super-sweet, quiet, demure charcoal grey and white tuxedo gal who’s actually the retired momma of the #graffiti-boys litter. I'm a real beauty because I have a sleek, shiny coat that's soft as a bunny's fur, and my big green eyes are mesmerizing!

I’m not a big fan of being picked up, but I love it when Foster Meowmy scratches my chin, cheeks, and chin as well as when she gently caresses my back. I was initially shy when I first arrived in my foster home, but once I got to know and trust Foster Meowmy (thanks to treats and yummy food!), I started relaxing.

Meowmy is very conscious that sudden movements make me nervous, so she makes sure that she moves around me very slowly. You see, I was rescued from an apartment complex as a stray momma cat with my three boys, so my radar always on the alert for danger to protect my babies from predators. Admittedly, it took a while for that mindset to be discarded and for me to wake up to the reality that I was suddenly living in a safe, secure environment of plenty.

Although my three boys, Dondi, Zephyr, and Banksy, were weaned long ago, I can’t resist being the “helicopter momma” who’s always in the background watching out for them. Even though I’m a dainty lass, I even join in their roughhousing from time to time. I become somewhat of a police officer when it comes to the other resident cats and my boys. The fact is – I’ll always love my sons!

Most of the time, I stay out of the way and am as quiet as a mouse. (Who wouldn't be when her sons are such flamboyant characters?) I’m happy to keep to myself and don’t demand a lot of attention from Foster Meowmy, although I luxuriate when she does pet me. Now it’s time for me and my family to find out forever homes. All I ask for is a quiet home with people who know the power of a gentle touch. And it would be the cat's meow if I could be adopted with Banksy.

Cleocatra #craves-attention

You are here:
VERY ACCEPTING OF LOVING TODDLERS

DOB 6/22/22

Hey there, everyone! I’m Cleocatra, and my sky-blue eyes make me a bewitching femme fatale, just like my hooman counterpart. I’m a sweet, friendly, playful bicolor lynx-point Siamese/Snowshoe mix gal who luxuriates in all the attention that my foster family lavishes on me. I serenely tolerate even the most heavy-handed petting, cuddling, and grabbing by my toddler foster sister. In fact, I can be very vocal if I feel that I’m being neglected. I’m really quite an amazingly social gal who enthusiastically cherishes head scratches, back rubs, and lap cuddles – even from tiny hoomans.

Other than snuggle-time, my favorite parts of the day are playtime and treat time. I’m a regular soccer striker because of the way I chase fuzzy balls and catnip mice around the house, and I love to shred feathers that are waved enticingly over my head. My tiny hooman has endeared herself to me by offering me squeezable Churus and crunchy Temptation treats.

It wasn’t long ago that I was fearlessly fending for myself, living paw-to-mouth on the mean streets of Houston. Thank heavens Foster Meowmy noticed me in her neighborhood and slowly coaxed me inside. Once indoors full-time, I adjusted easily to all the inside amenities like climate control, brimming food/water bowls, and warm beds. It’s as if I were always meant to be exclusively indoors. However, as a carryover of being an outdoor stray, I do not like or trust the resident dogs and cats, and I make it clear to them to stay out of my personal space. It’s a nuisance to have to set boundaries for these pesky creatures continuously, so I’d prefer a home without dogs or cats.

If you’re searching for a beautiful, well-adjusted feline to rule your family dynasty, I’m your girl! I’d especially welcome a home with a toddler or young child who will snuggle with me and feed me my favorite treats. Of course, I certainly wouldn’t turn down any attention that an older hooman wants to shower on me! Incidentally, there are advantages to adopting a kitty who’s beyond the craziness of kitten mayhem. I’m much less likely to cause chaos in your home or break any of your prized accessories.

LOOKS FOR MISCHIEF

DOB 8/15/23

Meow, Meow, everyone! I’m Darcy, a gentle, alert, and curious “bicolor” fella who’s mostly white with brown tabby on my head, back, and tail. I have a really cute brown patch on my white nose. My namesake is Mr. Darcy, as in Pride and Prejudice. That’s because I’m always looking for trouble and like to observe everything that's going on around me.

My three brothers and I were all rescued from a neighborhood feral cat colony by our future foster meowmy. Now I’m ready to find my forever home. Arrange to meet me so that you can kiss the brown spot on my nose. Consider adopting me with my bonded brother Dude. INITIALLY CAUTIOUS RED PLAYBOY

DOB 3/4/23

Meow! Meow, everyone! I’m Delta, a sweet, active, initially cautious red tabby fella whose slogan is “play very hard, and then snuggle in bed with Foster Meowmy.” I’m one of the #Tip-Top-Trio of kittens who was brought by our friendly stray momma Mia when we were three weeks old to a lady’s apartment back patio. Thank heavens our future foster meowmy stepped up to the plate and agreed to foster our whole family!

I love to explore inside the long kitty tunnel where sometimes I even rest for a bit of snuggling with other kitties I’m always looking for another critter to play with. That could be my siblings, Momma Mia, the resident dog, or the other cats and foster kittens. After I’m exhausted from chasing all the critters around the house, I collapse in a kitten puddle with my brothers and my toys.  Arrange to meet me today! And you might consider adopting me with my Mamma Mia.

Dondi #graffiti-boy

You are here:
STREET URCHIN TO PAMPERED PET

DOB 4/28/23

Have you ever seen a kitten whose body looks like a canvas that a graffiti artist has started splashing with tiny spots of black paint? Meow! Meow, everyone! I’m Dondi, a sweet and playful fella who’s pure white except for my black toupee and pale smudges of gray on my shoulders, back, and haunches.

My brothers, Banksy and Zephyr, and I are fascinated by everything in the bathroom.

I’m particularly bonded to Zephyr. We’re always up to some kind of kitten business – exploring, menacing each other, wrestling. When we’re exhausted, we collapse in a kitten puddle with Banksy and may even nuzzle with our sweet momma Clara.

If you’re looking for hours of entertainment with a handsome fella’s who’s a feast to the eyes, I’m your man! Arrange to meet me today, and consider adopting me with Zephyr (and don’t forget Banksy!) so we can keep each other company while you’re at work or on vacation. Just think – you can get all your cat-needs met with our little Instacat family.

Drake #loves-to-be-held

You are here:
ALL-STAR BISCUIT-MAKER

DOB 3/19/23

Looking for an affectionate, adventurous furry companion who loves people and thrives on attention?  Well, I think I fill the bill! I’m Drake, a sweet gentle-giant of a brown tabby who likes to be held and petted -- that is, as long as I don’t get allured into jumping down to play with my siblings.

I follow Foster Meowmy everywhere because I want to know everything that’s going on and “help” her with whatever she’s doing.  It’s amazing what I’ll do  when Foster Meowmy tantalizes me with Temptations! I’ll come from wherever I am in the house when I hear her rattle the bag.

I’m the largest of my litter, which also includes Nikki and Sylvester. Also known as the #3-mouseketeers, we were rescued with our momma Nina as apartment-complex strays in southwest Houston. Now in our foster home, we have so much fun tumbling and pouncing, climbing and wrestling with each other, and I relish every moment.

I’m friendly with the other kitties and tolerate the resident dogs in my foster home, and I’m never more aggressive than playing with a dog’s tail. Often my twin  sister Nikki and I lie in our cat bed and make biscuits together. Arrange to meet me today!

Duke #lion-king

You are here:
PURR MONSTER

DOB 9/20/22

Meow! Meow, everyone! I'm Duke, a.k.a. the Lion King, a friendly, happy, and playful brown tabby fella with white tuxedo markings. I’m very affectionate with my foster meowmy and like to lie next to her in bed at night. I have the loudest purr motor that you’ve ever heard!

During the day I enjoy chasing, wrestling, and hiding with the other foster kitties. Only thing is that I don’t like dogs at all – doesn’t their barking drive you nuts too?

My birth momma left my sister and me as orphans in a nice couple’s back yard when we were only four weeks old. The couple fed us for a few days, but they were afraid that we’d fall into the swimming pool and drown, so they turned to our HOPE foster meowmy to find us homes.

I’m simply the cutest, bravest, and happiest tabby fella whom you’ll ever meet, and I’d love to snuggle into your home and heart. If you’re looking for a very social, well-behaved fella with perfect scratching-post manners and who’s an absolute sweetheart, arrange to meet me today! While I’m cuddling in your lap, I may just get you to guess the decibels on my purr motor, which sounds like an outboard motor!

Dumpling & Dim Sum #bonded-brothers

THEY ALWAYS PURR AND MAKE BISCUITS CONTENTEDLY

DOB 3/15/23

Meow! Meow, everyone! We’re Dumpling and Dim Sum, a bonded pair of brown-tabby brothers who are ultra-sweet, friendly, and affectionate. We love to cuddle with our hoomans almost as much as with each other. We’re a happy pair who’s always purring and making biscuits, whether we’re snuggled with each other or having our chins scratched in Foster Meowmy’s lap.

A Good Samaritan found us and dropped us off at PetSmart/Pearland, and thankfully our foster meowmy agreed to welcome us into her home until we can find a fantastic forever home. She’s insisting that we be adopted together because we’re inseparable best friends who love each other very much.

We fit into our foster home beautifully. We enjoy playing with each other as well as when Foster Meowmy interacts with us using a wand toy with enticing hanging balls. We’re also curious and love to explore, so watch those open cabinet and closet doors! We may sneak inside for a peek.

I heard Foster Meowmy tell someone, “It’s been amazing watching Dumpling and Dim Sum grow up into such fine young gentlemen. They’d be a wonderful addition to any family. We hate to see them go, but they deserve a forever home to share their abundant love with their forever owners.” Hope you’re convinced that you should arrange to meet us right away! We plan to be at the PetSmart/Pearland Saturday adoption day every week.

Eclipse #lucky-star-litter

You are here:
TINY BUT MIGHTY AND VOCAL

DOB 3/9/24

Hey there, everyone! I’m Eclipse, a sweet, beautifully marked harlequin gal with a big black heart on my left side. “Harlequin” means that I’m mostly white with large patches of black. I’m one of five in the #lucky-star-litter, and I’m tiny but mighty. In fact, I’m the most vocal of the bunch. I make sure Foster Meowmy knows when she needs to give me some attention and when it’s mealtime. Small as I am, I don’t let my siblings mess with me!

Aurora, Astro, Nebula, Orion, and I were born to a stray community cat who was hanging out at an apartment complex.

Elsa #craves-treats

You are here:
INDEPENDENT & INQUISITIVE

DOB 8/25/21

Hello everyone! I’m Elsa, a sweet, stunningly beautiful black DSH/Bombay mix with a sleek, shiny patent-leather coat and big, copper-penny eyes. I’m independent and very inquisitive. I’m initially shy but am so food-driven that I always nudge closer to my foster meowmy for a good treat.

I love to tumble and pounce, climb and wrestle with my siblings. I can also entertain myself because I love balls with bells, catnip mice, and crinkle toys. Plus I’m very comfortable around the dogs and other cats in my foster home.

Hopefully you're not superstitious because, as Groucho Marx said, "A black cat's crossing your path signifies that he's going somewhere." I’m so grateful that I was rescued into a foster home because black cats are five times more likely to be euthanized at a shelter. Most people who adopt black cats once want to adopt one again because of their outstanding personalities and emotional stability.

I hope you’ll arrange to meet me! I’d like nothing better than for you to open your heart and home to me. I’ll need patience and time to come out of my shell in my new digs, but it will be worth the effort! I’m one little black panther who’ll leave tiny paw prints all over your heart

Fiona #bundle-of-love

You are here:
YOUR PERSONAL OFFICE ASSISTANT

DOB 1/1/20

Mew! Mew, everyone! I’m Princess Fiona. Okay, it’s really just Fiona, but I like to think of myself as a princess. I’m a sweet, loving calico gal who LOVES my hoomans, and I mean LOVES them. I make air biscuits a lot when Foster Meowmy rubs my back and belly, and I’m in kitty heaven when she scratches my chin or ears. Because I have a little bit of an overbite, I often purr with my mouth slightly open, which Foster Meowmy thinks is super cute.

She describes me as “full of love.” Although I don’t like to be picked up and held much, I love to climb up in Foster Meowmy’s lap, sit on her desk, or happily sleep on her bed. Unfortunately, I won’t be a great work-from-home buddy until I learn to stay off Foster Meowmy’s keyboard.

Interestingly, I have a “startle reflex” to scratch out when I don’t know who’s petting me while I sleep or while I’m just staring off into space. Foster Meowmy thinks I shouldn’t be adopted into a home with kids under eight years old because I would hate, in my surprise, to scratch someone by accident.

I merely tolerate the resident cats – as long as they are chill and don’t get in my face. On the other hand, I do not get along at all with the small friendly resident dog. It would be just fine with me if I were the only “pet” child because that means there’d be no competition for my hooman’s attention.

I’m a stunning plus-size model. I’ve got a large frame, but then again, I’m admittedly a little bit chubby. I love food. I see it, and I want to eat it! Since I’m not a picky eater, the best remedy is not to offer me free-choice food all day long.  What should do the trick is a feeding schedule and interactive exercise for me to pounce, chase, and lunge when my Foster Meowmy dangles a wand toy over my head.

I was found as a stray in southwest Houston, so I’m grateful for my foster home. However, I know that a home of my very own is what’s best for me. If you’re looking for a kitty who will think that you’re the sun and the moon, I’m the bundle-of-love gal for you! Arrange to meet me!  Incidentally, there are advantages to adopting a ki t ty who's past the stage of kitten mayhem. I'll create less chaos in your home and not be as likely to break your treasured accessories.

Freya #love-goddess

You are here:
CREME DE LA CREME OF SWEETIE-PIES

DOB 6/17/23

Hey there, everyone! I’m Freya, an ultra-sweet brown tabby girl who was named after the Norse goddess of love and fertility. Yes, I’m the goddess of love because to show my delight, I turn on my purr motor the minute Foster Meowmy picks me up and holds me. I'm very laid-back and tolerant, so I let her dress me up in flower hats.

Yes, I’m very fertile because at seven months old, barely more than a kitten myself, I had a crisis teenage pregnancy. It was quite a precarious feat when I delivered my litter of three kittens safely on a garden swing. A Good Samaritan found me in her yard and moved us all to safety in her garage. Fortunately this nice lady’s brother-in-law is a vet, and he knew whom to call to be our caretaker – my future foster meowmy, a preeminent cat rescuer.

I ended up being one of the sweetest mommas whom she’s ever fostered. I fit in beautifully with the other foster cat in my room, which is not always the case with a protective nursing momma. Since I’m still just a teenager, I love playing with crinkle balls and wand toys.

Now that my three kits have been weaned, I’m permanently retired from being a doting momma. So I’m seeking a forever home where I’ll be cherished for the love-goddess that I am. Could that be with you? Perhaps you have a little girl who wants an easygoing doll-cat whom she can dress up.

Arrange to meet me today! My heart has so much joy to give – all I need is you! Incidentally, there are advantages to adopting a young gal like me who’s past the stage of kitten mayhem. I’m much less likely to cause chaos in your home or break any of your treasured accessories.

George #brother-of-Harry

You are here:
CURIOSITY GETS THE BEST OF ME

DOB 3/6/23

Looking for a great furry companion who's really quite funny and silly? Then I'm you're man! I'm George, a sweet and adorable spotted red tabby fella who always has a surprised look on my face. Yes, like George Weasely of Harry Potter fame, I'm a George with flaming red hair.

My favorite activity is playtime, and I love interactive play with my foster meowmy when she waves the wand toy over my head. My curiosity gets the best of me, and I'll follow Foster Meowmy all over the house because I can't resist chasing string and feathers! I’m also a very inquisitive little guy, and I find folding laundry and other daily tasks fascinating to watch!

I'm one of the #crazy-8-gang who was born to a feral momma in Foster Meowmy's neighborhood. Thankfully she scooped us all up to bring us inside. I love to play tag with my many siblings! We tumble and pounce, climb and wrestle, and when we're exhausted, we collapse in a kitten puddle for a nap. I'm not a leader, so I usually follow around my brother Harry.

I'm looking for a home where hoomans will play with me and love me a lot! I hope you'll arrange to meet me so I can leave tiny paw prints all over your heart. Consider adopting me with Harry so we can keep each other company while you're at work or on vacation.

Godzilla #monster-duo-kitty

You are here:
GOOFY, SASSY FELLA

DOB 8/24/19

Howdy everyone! I’m Godzilla, a goofy, sassy, curious, and energetic brown tabby fella who’s proud of my monster-name. I may be a big boy like Godzilla, but I’m a sweet marshmallow at heart. I absolutely LOVE people and the cuddles that we share.

I get along great with the other gentle cats in my foster home as well as a service dog who drops by occasionally. I’m accustomed to the calm and quiet of my foster home, so I’d probably do best in a home without chaos and without kids.

My sisters Mothra and Woobee were found with me as orphan kittens during Tropical Storm Imelda. My foster mom heard my crying on a driveway, and she says that I’ve continued to let everyone know my opinions ever since. I was the runt of my litter and was bottle-fed by my foster family. Boy did I love my bottle!

Those “nursing” sessions ended up being a great time to bond with my humans and probably explain why I’m so sociable with people. The bottle has now been replaced with cat treats, which have probably contributed to my “plus-size.”

If you’re looking for a friendly feline companion who’s past the mayhem of kittenhood, I’m your man! Although I'm available separately, it would be the cat’s meow if I could be adopted with one of my sisters. That way we could keep each other company while you’re at work or on vacation. Arrange to meet me today! I promise to leave tiny paw prints all over your heart.

Gracie Mae #total-love-bug

You are here:
LOVES TO CUDDLE AND MAKE BISCUITS

DOB 6/27/23

Hey there, everyone! I’m Gracie Mae, a sweet, friendly, and cuddly “tuxedo torbie,” a.k.a. grey tabby with peach-tabby patches and white-tuxedo markings. Don’t you love my “Liz Taylor” beauty marks on either side of my nose? I love to be in Foster Meowmy’s lap or snuggled next to her, and I either roll over to ask for a belly rub or make biscuits to express my delight at being close to her.

I showed up as a friendly stray in the neglected community-cat colony at Foster Meowmy’s apartment complex. Like a little furry bodyguard, I followed residents around the courtyard and greeted them upon arrival by escorting them from their car to their front door. I was obviously someone’s misplaced or abandoned pet because I would lie in the lap of anyone who sat on their porch.

I was begging someone to take me inside and saying, “Please be my hooman!” I got no one’s attention until, barely more than a kitten myself, I started showing that I was pregnant. Thankfully Foster Meowmy brought me inside, and at eight months old, I delivered my litter of five in her bathtub.

How relieved I was to be off the streets and to live the good life indoors again. Although I get along great with the large resident dogs, I’ve remained in the “protect-my-newborns-from-predators” mode and can be aggressive with the resident cats. I’ve been a wonderful momma to my five little “beans,” and now that they’re weaned, I’ve permanently retired from being a doting momma. I've re-discovered how to be a playful teenage kitty, and I adore being "footloose and fancy-free" by kicking any toys that crinkle.

Now I'm ready to find a loving home of my very own, so I'm wondering if that could that be with you? We'd both be blessed because you'd get a love bug for a pet, and I'd get my very own hooman(s), whom I truly deserve. True confessions: I’ve proven to be a queen bee, so I’ll welcome any attention and spoiling that you want to lavish on me.

Harry #brother-of-George

You are here:
GIVES KITTY HANDSHAKES

DOB 3/6/23

Hello there! I'm Harry, and just like Prince Harry, I have the "ginger gene," which is responsible for my flaming red hair. I'm a winsome, entertaining tabby fella who’s easy to pick up and cuddle. I love to snuggle with Foster Meowmy as well as greet her with a "kitty handshake," i.e. touch my nose to her hand.  I also cleverly learned to give high-fives with my paw. I’m quite a chatty chap because I chirp and meow to my family when I'm feeling comfy and happy.

I can’t resist playtime whether it’s with kids, other kitties, or myself. I'm full of energy, and interactive play with my foster family is my favorite calorie-burner. I’ll chase strings all day long if someone will play with me! I love all sorts of toys, especially little stuffed animals and balls that I can bat around and chase. After I‘ve played soccer with them, I’ll carry the soft, fuzzy ones around in my mouth. When I’ve had a surfeit in the exercise department, I'll jump on and climb the cat tree to catch my breath or perhaps a quick cat nap.

I'm one of the #crazy-8-gang who was born to a feral momma in Foster Meowmy's neighborhood. Thankfully she scooped us all up to bring us inside. I love to play with my many siblings! We tumble and pounce, climb and wrestle, and when we're exhausted, we collapse in a kitten puddle for a nap.

I hope you'll arrange to meet me so you can find out that I’m more fun than a barrel of monkeys. Since I'm the leader of my pack, my siblings follow me around. Consider adopting me with my brother George so we can keep each other company while you're at work or on vacation.

You are here:
EASY-GOING LOVEBUG

DOB 9/1/21

Howdy everyone! I’m Indy, a handsome, easy-going black DSH/Bombay mix dude with a sleek, shiny patent-leather coat and big, copper-penny eyes. It took me a while to learn that being petted, chin scratches, and lap time with my foster dad might just be a good thing. My mom Luna led the way, so I started curling up on my foster dad’s warm chest for a quick power nap and discovered that it was pretty delightful.

My favorite pastimes include following my foster dad into the bathroom (Bombay mixes can be very dog-like), looking handsome, and watching the world go by as I bask in a patch of sunshine on a windowsill. My favorite likes are dry food, toys with tassels, and warm beds.

I hope you're not superstitious because, as Groucho Marx said, "A black cat's crossing your path signifies that he's going somewhere." I’m so glad that I came to my HOPE foster home because black cats are five times more likely to be euthanized at a shelter. Most people who adopt black cats once want to adopt one again because of their outstanding personalities and emotional stability.

Arrange to meet me today. Find out if YOUR chest could be my next napping station!

CHARISMATIC AND SPIRITED

DOB 5/7/23

Are you longing for a furry friend who's as full of energy as affection? Meet me, charismatic and spirited Jason Todd, who's ready to bring joy, laughter, and endless cuddles into your life. I’m a kitten who's always ready to embark on new and thrilling experiences. Beyond my adventurous demeanor, I have a softer side that adores cuddles and quality time with Foster Meowmy. What's a love of exploration if I have no one to share it with? I’m always there for her in an instant, ready to provide comfort after a long day.

Named after the third Robin in the comic-book series Batman, I’m known for my outgoing personality and heart of gold. My energy knows no bounds! I’m a whirlwind of fun and games that’s always ready to chase after toys, pounce on imaginary prey, and keep Foster Meowmy entertained with my boundless enthusiasm.

I’m a black DSH/Bombay mix fella with expressive gold eyes and sprinkles of salt mixed in my black fur. I’m an instant head-turner, if I do say so myself. My gorgeous appearance is matched only by my captivating personality, which adds up to my being a kitten few will be able to resist.

My stray momma birthed my four Batman siblings and me at an apartment complex in Cypress, and thankfully we came to Foster Meowmy’s home for her to give us a chance at an enriched indoor life. Now I’m ready to find my forever home where I can be Johnny-on-the-spot to comfort my hooman after a long day. Perhaps my next adventure is with you!

Jenna #cuddle-expert

You are here:
ENDEARING PERSONALITY, UNDYING DEVOTION

DOB 9/21/18

Looking for a sweet, affectionate kitty who will make you feel cherished by her gentle purrs and head nudges? Then I’m the perfect gal for you! Mew! Mew, everyone! I’m Jenna, a loyal and loving black DSH/Bombay gal who’s a real cuddle expert. At bedtime, I curl up next to Foster Meowmy to share her warmth and comfort throughout the night.

Although I’m initially timid when I meet someone, once they warm up to me and I get to know them, I luxuriate in being stroked down my back as well as scratched on my chin, cheeks, and ears. I’m more of a lap cat than a fan of being picked up and carried around. My eyes light up with excitement at the sight and smell of snacks because I’m always up for a tasty treat. One of my favorite pastimes is watching the birds outside the window because I’m captivated by their graceful flights and playful chirps.

My street-stray momma ran inside future Foster Meowmy’s home and immediately birthed my litter of four under her bed. Foster Meowmy turned to HOPE to help get us vetted as well as adopted, and, sure enough, I was adopted as the Pet of the Week at the PetSmart Pearland.

Unfortunately, I was found in a trap several years later. I can’t explain to Foster Meowmy exactly what happened, but she thinks either I was dumped outdoors, or else I dashed out the door and couldn’t find my way back home. As a previously indoor kitty, I wasn’t used to foraging for prey, so the yummy food attracted me inside the trap. Of course, the was traced back to HOPE through my trusty microchip, thank heavens.

When Meowmy took me to the vet to get updated vaccines, I tested positive for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus). Who knows how long I’d been outside, but probably I contracted FIV from a deep bite wound from an intact male cat. (Unlike Feline Leukemia, FIV is NOT passed on "casually" by sharing food bowls and litter boxes with other household cats.) Being FIV positive means that I should live an average life span as long as my dental health is routinely monitored and prompt attention is given to any urinary-tract or upper-respiratory infections.

Despite my loving nature, I’ve admittedly had some real setbacks in my life. However, my spirit has never been dampened! I certainly deserve a caring and understanding family the second time around. With my endearing personality and undying devotion, I promise to be a constant source of joy and love in my next family’s life.

Arrange to meet me today! And you know there are advantages to adopting a kitty like me who’s outgrown the stage of kitten mayhem. I’m much less likely to cause chaos in your home or break your treasured accessories.

Jerry #brother-of-Tom

You are here:
TWINKLE OF MISCHIEF IN HIS EYE

DOB 3/2/24

Hey there, everyone! I’m Jerry, a friendly, outgoing, and playful black DSH/Bombay mix fella who loves to get into mischief and be silly. My brother Tom and I were found as two-week-old orphans at an apartment complex, and all the handling for our bottle-feedings made us very used to being held and carried around by hoomans.

We seek out all the love and attention that we can wring out of our foster family! In fact you could call us Velcro kittens because we like to stick so close to our hoomans. Because we’ve lived happy, healthy, fun-loving lives in our foster home, we’re very well-adjusted and not afraid of strangers or the resident cats.

Now I'm ready for my forever home. If you think I'm cute now as a Bombay-mix kitten, only expect me to get more handsome as I mature into a black panther with a sleek, shiny patent-leather coat and copper-penny eyes. Arrange to meet me today! Incidentally, although Tom and I are available separately, we think it’d be the cat’s meow if we could be adopted together so we can keep each other company while you’re at work or on vacation.

LOVES TO SPREAD HER PHERONOMES

DOB 5/4/23

Hi there! I’m Juniper, a cute, crafty, and clever brown tabby “ninja” gal who got my name because I’m a little “Junior” who looks like my dad. I’m initially shy with people, but once I warm up, I love to cuddle and to rub my pheromones on everyone!

Foster Meowmy found Momma, my sisters Minnie, Spotty, and Angel, and me in her yard one stormy May day. Thank heavens she brought us inside and promised to find us fantastic forever homes through HOPE. My foster home is calm and quiet without dogs or kids, but I have quite a rambunctious streak in me, so I’m open to a home with kids. I fit in well with the friendly resident kitties.

Now I’m ready to find the forever home that I was promised, and if you’re looking for a shy but sweet “June bug,” I’m your girl! Arrange to meet me today! I promise to leave tiny paw prints all over your heart. Please consider adopting me with Juniper so we can keep each other company while you’re at work or on vacation.

LOVES SITTING BY YOUR SIDE

DOB 5/15/23

I'm a cat. Need I say more? I'm independent, so don't pick me up when I don't want to be. But if I choose to sit by your side, lavish me with pets or brushing. At least until I decide I've had enough.  I often choose to go off and play and explore by myself and I'm fine with that. Please don't interrupt my grand adventures.

I do get along with other friendly cats and love playing hide 'n seek or chase with them. Show me a staircase, and I'll get to the top before you can blink. After you settle down for the night, I will sometimes want to come and snuggle with you or keep your feet warm.

Hope you like more independent women because I am definitely that. Come meet me and see for yourself. Please no dogs, unless they are old and will allow me free run of the house.

Kiwi #soaks-up-attention

You are here:
LOVESSSSSS THE WAND TOY

DOB 2/9/24

Hey there, everyone! I’m Kiwi, a sweet, gentle brown tabby gal who runs up to greet Foster Meowmy when she enters my foster room because I want her to pick me up and cuddle me. When Foster Meowmy sits down, I snuggle up to her thigh or plop up on her lap. That’s when I turn on my loud purr motor or lick her hand when she pets me and scratches my cheeks, chin, and ears.

Foster Meowmy and I make great playmates! Sometimes I toy with her long hair or very gently bunny-kick when I wrestle with her hand, but it’s to show my delight at her gentle touch. We have a lot of fun playing interactively as I frantically chase strings and the feather wand toy when she waves it around me. To wrap up our play sessions, I may purr like a perking coffeepot when I slurp the Churu squeezable treats off her finger.

You see, I’m a solo kitten with no birth momma or littermates in my foster home -- and not because I’m an orphan. I was living in a backyard in Foster Meowmy’s neighborhood with a colony of community cats. I was the only kitten in my litter who was friendly, brave, and curious enough to approach hoomans. Because Foster Meowmy could offer me a much better life as a pampered indoor pet, she scooped me up and brought me home to prepare me for adoption.

I get along great with the momma cat and her five kittens who share the foster room with me, and they have replaced my birth family who's still living outdoors. When I’m exhausted from tumbling and pouncing with the kits, I enjoy sleeping in the cat tree and gazing out the window at the wildlife that scampers, crawls, and flies by.

What I’d really like is a forever home of my own! If you’re looking for a sweet girl with that playful "kitten curiosity" and who soaks up hooman attention, I’m the gal for you. Arrange to meet me today! I promise to leave tiny paw prints of love all over your heart.

Leah #fluffy-tail-bunch

DEMURE LOVEBUG WITH UNIQUELY CAPTIVATING EYES

DOB 1/19/24

Hey there, everyone! I’m Leah, a sweet, calm, reserved dilute tortoiseshell gal with a big fluff of a tail. I’m a demure lovebug with big, green eyes that will really captivate you because they’re so unique. My thick, luxurious fur is soft and plush like a bunny's. Although I’m initially shy, once I get to know you, my heart is all yours. Since I’m rather submissive in temperament, Foster Meowmy thinks that I’d be a good candidate for a little girl to dress me up.

Here’s my rescue story: While passing a dilapidated apartment complex, a Good Samaritan discovered an injured male cat whose leg was in bad shape. She took him to the vet, where his leg was amputated and he was neutered. When she returned to the apartment complex to release him, she discovered a friendly pregnant calico, whom she named Lucy. She put two and two together and figured out that the male’s injuries hadn’t stopped him from being a lothario. My future foster Meowmy scooped up Lucy and brought her home, and Leon, Sunny, Mia, and I were born in foster care.

I've gotten along great with the resident cats with whom I grew up, and I'd probably get along great with dogs and well-behaved children. Now I’m ready for my forever home. Arrange to meet me, and consider adopting me with Sunny so we can keep each other company while you’re at work or on vacation.

Little Bobbie #bestie-of-Tango

You are here:
RESCUED AS TINY ORPHAN, COVERED IN LEAVES & STICKS

DOB 4/7/22

Hello everyone! I’m Little Bobbie, and I’m an adorable, petite dilute gray tabby kitten with white mittens and locket. Don’t you love my sweet, angelic face?

I was a two-week-old orphan, covered in leaves and sticks, when I was rescued from a field. Neighbors had witnessed dogs chasing away my mother; alas, she never re-appeared. Several cat lovers took me inside and bottle-fed me along with several other bottle-babies, Butch, Sundance, and Violet, who are my same age.

I have so much fun playing with my surrogate siblings. We tumble and pounce, climb and wrestle with each other, and when we’re exhausted from all the fun, we collapse in a kitten puddle. I’d love to be adopted with my fostermate Tango. That way we can play all day while you work or go on vacation.

I get along great with the 3 resident adult cats and 2 big dogs in my foster home, so there are a lot of households where I would fit like a glove. Arrange to meet me today!

FOUND AS A JOBSITE STRAY KITTEN

DOB 8/26/22

Mew! Mew, everyone! I’m Lollis, a delightful torbie gal who has quite a heartwarming rescue story. (“Torbie” means that I’m a brown tabby with patches of peach that makes me look like I was splashed with caramel in a candy factory.) I was a stray orphan kitten fending for myself when future foster meowmy spotted me at her jobsite. It didn’t take me long to decide that she was meant to be my savior. I ran to her, and she scooped me up. I cuddled in her lap to make the unforgettable journey to my foster home, and we’ve been bonded ever since.

Once in my foster home, I was overjoyed to kiss the hardscrabble life good-bye! Boy howdy! Brimming food and water bowls, climate control, and safety from predators all spelled security and happiness to me. I get along great with the other cats and resident dogs. I have a playful and independent spirit, which makes me a perfect companion for kids. Although I usually maintain my freedom, there are those rare, cherished moments when I need a little snuggle and will seek cuddles from my hoomans.

Yes, I chose Foster Meowmy, and now it’s time for you to choose me to be your next feline companion. I want to become an integral part of your life and make every day an adventure worth sharing. Arrange to meet me today, and let’s form a bond that's unbreakable!

LOVING WALLFLOWER

DOB 4/9/21

Have you met Mama Lu, aka Miss Lu, aka LuluLove? She's somewhat independent and prefers to stay out of your way, but doesn't mind the ocasional demonstration of love.  She allows you to pet her, kiss her and hold her for a few minutes at the time. But once she's had enough you'll know.

Lu likes to play with her foster siblings but not for long periods of time. This independent spirit would do well in a quiet home and even one where people are gone for hours at a time. She is 100% capable of entertaining herself.  This sweet tortie is waiting to meet you.

CHILLED-OUT LAP CAT WHO LIKES TO NAP AND CUDDLE

DOB 4/1/20

Hey there, everyone! I’m Lucy, a sweet, cuddly, easygoing calico/tortoiseshell with white gal with a big fluff of a tail. My thick, luxurious fur is soft and plush like a bunny's. I love to climb up in Foster Meowmy’s lap for her to scratch my cheeks, chin, and ears. Sometimes I nap, and sometimes we binge on Netflix or Animal Planet. I’m a real sucker for canned food and yummy treats.

Here’s my rescue story: While passing a dilapidated apartment complex, a Good Samaritan discovered an injured male cat whose leg was in bad shape. She took him to the vet, where his leg was amputated and he was neutered. When she returned to the apartment complex to release him, she discovered a friendly pregnant calico. You guessed it – yours truly. She put two and two together and figured out that the male’s injuries hadn’t stopped him from being a lothario. My future foster Meowmy scooped up me and brought me home, and Leon, Sunny, Mia, and Leah were born in foster care.

Now I’m ready for my forever home, so please arrange to meet me. If you’re looking for a chilled-out and reserved furry companion, I’m your gal! Incidentally the advantage of adopting a gal like me who’s past the stage of kitten mayhem is that I’m much less likely to cause chaos in your home or break your treasured accessories.

LOYAL COMPANION WITH AMAZING PERSONALITY

DOB 4/1/23

Hey there, everyone! I’m Luffy, a sweet, friendly, affectionate, and adoring brown tabby fella with white tuxedo markings who thoroughly enjoys the company of my entire foster family, including the preschool kids. Since my gentle, calm temperament tolerates the kids' man-handling me, I got my name because the preschoolers say, "This kitty 'luffs' us." I have fun playing interactively with all my hoomans, and I’m a curious guy who likes exploring.

My foster meowmy surmises that I was someone’s pet who was allowed to go outside, and the inevitable happened when I was hit by a car. My future foster meowmy fortunately was the Good Samaritan who didn’t pass me by but rescued me and took me to her vet. I’m a brave fighter who narrowly escaped my leg's amputation through sheer determination, and I’m happy to report that my leg has healed beautifully.

Although my foster family cherishes me, I can’t permanently stay inside because of Foster Meowmy’s allergies. Plus, although I’m fantastic with the kids, I’m not keen on the other resident pets. So here I am looking for my new forever home.

Incidentally, I’m a very social kitty who would sink in a sea of despondency if I were left home all day alone. So whether you’re a noisy, chaotic young family or some stay-at-home empty-nesters who’re looking for a loyal companion with an amazing personality, I’d be the perfect addition to your home! Arrange to meet me today! By the way – bring on the kids or grandkids as I’d love to be their bedfellow once we get home.

TURNS ON PURR MOTOR WHEN PETTED

DOB 6/23/23

Hi there, everyone! I’m Melanie, a very sweet, curious, and playful tortoiseshell gal who’s mostly dark with a swath of orange that splits my face in two.I have long legs and move like a panther. My momma Stella and I were rescued from Foster Meowmy’s driveway when I was about 3 months old. I was pretty skittish when I first arrived, but my foster family has nurtured my trust by offering me Temptation treats from their hands. I’m progressing on the socialization curve and turn on my purr motor when I’m petted. Frankly, I’m very interested in being with people as well as the resident dogs and other cats.

I’m a playful gal who loves to play soccer with balls and to lunge at wand toys which Foster Meowmy waves over my head. I can get into trouble because I like to explore. When I’m all tuckered out from my kitten antics, I like to catch a nap at the top of the cat tree.

I’m ready to find my forever home, and I’d welcome having friendly dogs or cats to keep me company while you’re at work or on vacation. You might even consider adopting me with my momma Stella. Most of all I’d like my hoomans to be lavish in petting me and dispensing Temptation treats! Arrange to meet me today!

EASY-GOING AND PLAYFUL BED BUDDY

DOB 4/15/22

Mew! Mew, everyone! I’m Mia, a gentle, friendly, easy-going, playful patched tabby with white tuxedo markings who loves to spend time in my foster meowmy’s lap or bed. Don't you love my prominent peach-colored blaze on my nose and forehead?

I was a friendly, abandoned young stray who was living paw-to-mouth in an apartment complex. One day I brought my three 3-week-old kittens to the lady who had been feeding me. One thing led to another, and I eventually arrived in my HOPE foster home, where I proved to be a loving and protective teenage momma.

Now that my kits are weaned and I’m “fixed,” I’m ready for my forever home. I’d do great in a home with other cats or dogs but probably not young children. I’m young and playful yet past the kitten craziness, so I’d be much less likely to cause chaos in your home or break your prized possessions. Arrange to meet me today! And you might even consider adopting me with my son Delta.

Mikey #he-eats-anything

You are here:
LOVES TO CUDDLE, PLAY, AND ENTERTAIN

DOB 5/18/22

Hey there, everyone! I’m Mikey, a sweet, friendly, curious, playful, and entertaining “bicolor,” which means that I'm mostly white with grey tabby on my head, back, and tail. I got my name from a 1972 Quaker Oaks “Mikey Likes It” commercial of a toddler who would “eat anything.” That’s me, and I’m not ashamed at all! There are cats starving in China, so no food should be tossed out!

You see, my family moved out of their apartment and left me behind to fend for myself outside. I’m a happy-go-lucky kind of guy, so I made the best of my situation. I enjoyed climbing trees, chasing squirrels, and following folks when they walked their dogs. I assumed that an open apartment door was an invitation for me to mosey on in, and everyone adored me. Only problem was, nobody wanted to adopt a stray cat, which is what I really wanted. So “I ate anything” until my future foster meowmy decided that she wanted to foster me until she could find me my forever home with a family who’d never abandon me again.

Here I am in my foster home, happy as a lark with the other kitties. I love to cuddle beside Foster Meowmy as we binge on Netflix and Animal Planet, and when she heads for bed, I curl up at her feet. And boy howdy! I love to entertain my hoomans when we interactively play with feather wand-toys and laser pointers as well as when I play soccer with my crinkle balls and catnip mice. I’d be a great kids’ playmate as long as they knew that I don’t like to be picked up.

Arrange to meet me today! Incidentally, there are advantages to adopting a kitty like me who’s past the stage of kitten mayhem. I’m much less likely to cause chaos in your home or break any of your treasured accessories.

Mimi Lou #sweetie-pie

You are here:
PURRING LAP-KITTY

DOB 12/30/22

Mew! Mew, everyone! I’m Mimi Lou, a friendly, loving, and affectionate brown tabby gal. I may be wearing “plain brown clothes” on the outside, but I’m distinguished on the inside by the nobility of my heart -- I recently heard Foster Meowmy tell someone that I’m THE sweetest rescue whom she’s ever had. By the way, she’s rescued LOTS of kitties! I love to cuddle in her lap, and that’s when I turn on my purr machine to show my contentment. My coat is very soft, and my ears are tufted like a bobcat’s, but I don’t have a stubby tail

I turned up as a stray in Foster Meowmy’s neighborhood. When my caretaker went into the hospital, Foster Meowmy stepped up to bring me inside and get me fully vetted. I must’ve been someone’s young, misplaced pet because I immediately adjusted to indoor life and started spending quality time on Foster Meowmy’s lap. I’ve re-discovered a kitten’s joy of playing soccer with my toys as well as lunging and pouncing at the wand toy when Foster Meowmy waves it over my head.

I don’t respond when Foster Meowmy’s resident cats hiss at me. Although I'm fine with other cats, if the kitties in my forever home aren’t friendly with me, it’d be okay with me to be an only cat-child. I’d never protest to getting 100% of my hooman’s love and attention! I can always entertain myself with my toys and by watching the wildlife outside my window.

Arrange to meet me today! I’m all ready to climb up in your lap, turn on my purr motor, and let you guess its decibels! My heart has so much love to give – all I need is YOU!

Mimosa #marble-swirls

You are here:
PRETTY AS A MIMOSA BLOSSOM

DOB 5/16/23

If you like the “high” you get from a Sunday-brunch mimosa, I’m the kitty for you! Mew! Mew, everyone! I’m Mimosa, and I got my name because I’m such a sweet, amazing, friendly, and affectionate “feel-good” Classic-tabby bicolor kitten. "Classic tabby" means that I have marble swirls on my sides instead of the usual mackerel stripes. "Bicolor" means that I’m mostly white with brown tabby on my head, back, and tail. I also was named Mimosa because I'm as pretty as the tree's cotton-candy-like blooms. I'm really a stunning sight for sore eyes, if I do say so myself!

I love attention, and I’m one of the few kitties who actually likes to be picked up by Foster Meowmy. At bedtime, I love scampering under the covers and then settling down to snuggle next to Foster Meowmy for the rest of the night.

I was crying for food when Foster Meowmy opened her front door one morning. She has a reputation for being a tenderhearted “cat lady,” so most likely I was dumped by a neighbor who had found me. Of course she brought me inside, where I fit in seamlessly with her other cats and small dogs.

The adult cats have ended up being my surrogate mommas who’ve taught me everything that my momma would’ve taught me if she were here. I also enjoy tumbling and pouncing, climbing and wrestling with the older foster kittens. I’m very nimble at scurrying after the red-laser dot when Foster Meowmy bounces it around the room.

Now I’m ready for my forever home, which can have other friendly pets. Arrange to meet me today! If you take me home, next Sunday brunch you can have a Mimosa on me to celebrate!

Missy #bathtub-five

You are here:
LITTLE MISS MISCHIEF

DOB 3/11/24

Hey there, everyone! I’m Missy, a sweet, mischievous, playful dilute brown-and-peach “patched” tabby gal who loves to snuggle and soak up Foster Meowmy’s attention.  My markings are really quite striking and one-of-a-kind! Cyndi Lauper would just say that I’m one of those “girls who just wanna have fun.” Yes, I’ll play with anything – crinkle balls, chirping toys, feathers, springs, wand toys. You name it – I’m ready to become entranced with anything that rocks, rolls, or flies.

My momma Gracie Mae showed up as a young, friendly stray at Foster Meowmy’s apartment complex. Like a little furry bodyguard, she greeted residents by escorting them from their car to their front door. Obviously someone’s misplaced or abandoned pet, Gracie Mae would lie in the lap of anyone who sat on their porch. Suddenly, she faced the crisis of a teenage pregnancy. Thankfully Foster Meowmy brought her inside, and at eight months old, she delivered my litter of five in the bathtub. Roo, Rocket, Tigger, Sasha, and I have had a happy, safe, and secure kitten hood where we’ve been nurtured by Momma as well as freely mingled with the resident dogs and cats.

Now that I’m weaned and fixed, I’m ready to find my forever home. Could that be with you? Arrange to meet me today, and consider adopting me with one of my equally well-adjusted #bathtub-five siblings so that we can keep each other company while you’re at work or on vacation.

HOPE ID 24-0427-G101

Missy Longstocking #docile-lapcat

You are here:
THE MARVELOUS MISS STOCKING

DOB 4/15/22

Meow! Meow, everyone! I’m very, very sweet, friendly, and curious Missy Longstocking, a sleek, elegant harlequin gal with big jade-globe eyes and who’s mostly white with large patches of dark gray. Foster Meowmy named me “Longstocking” because I’m tall with graceful legs that look to be wearing gray stockings. Meowmy is amazed that I don’t have one ounce of “catitiude,” and I heard her exclaiming that I’m the most docile cat she’s ever met.

Although I’m not a big fan of being picked up, I happily curl up in Foster Meowmy’s lap and turn on my purr motor, which sounds like a perking coffeepot. We then enjoy prime-time together as she gently brushes me or offers me squeezable treats. But I’m no couch potato! No siree! I adore interactive play as Foster Meowmy waves the fishing-wand toy over my head because I can show off my acrobatic prowess as I lunge and pounce on my “prey.”

I have quite a dangerous backstory. A Good Samaritan was driving down Beltway 8 when she spotted me, partially inside a bag, as I huddled in the median. Thank heavens that she’s not scared of much, so she pulled over and quickly grabbed me as cars whizzed by. When we got home, she saw that I was a little bruised, nicked, and scraped as well as very traumatized but overall healthy and uninjured.

I tolerate the other cats in my foster home, but I definitely don’t love them. I haven’t been around kids, but I was fine around a small, polite dog. Since I’m friendly and well-adjusted, I might be very compatible with well-behaved children and cat-friendly dogs.

If you’re searching for a beautifully marked lady-long-legs who looks like a thoroughbred racehorse, I’m your gal! Arrange to meet me so we can exchange warm cuddles and you can guess the decibels on my purr motor. Incidentally, there are advantages to adopting a young kitty like me who's past the mayhem of kitten craziness. I'll cause less chaos in your home and not be as likely to break your treasured accessories.

Mittens #polydactyl-cutie

You are here:
THUMBS UP!

DOB 3/22/22

Hey there, everyone! I’m Mittens, a sweet, gentle, very submissive dilute-calico gal who’s friendly and sociable with hoomans of all ages. I'm a "bicolor," which means that I'm mostly white with blue and cream patches on my head, back, and tail. I’m what’s called a “polydactyl” because I have more toes on my front paws than most kitties. I’m very petite, and although I’m full grown, I’m the size of a seven-month old kitten.

My future foster meowmy was on a TNR mission when she found me, friendly but pregnant and living paw-to-mouth in a feral-cat colony at a very low-income immigrant apartment complex in southwest Houston. Thank heavens Foster Meowmy scooped me up and brought me home with her to foster me. I’m adjusting well to my safe, secure indoor life with brimming food and water bowls, climate control, and toys to play with.

However, trying to survive at that feeding station had been a very bad experience because I’d had to fight for food amongst the intact toms. So I’m understandably fearful of other cats and need to be an only-cat child in my forever home. If you’re looking for an affectionate baby-doll kitty who’ll always be the size of a kitten, I’m the polydactyl girl for you! Arrange to meet me today! I promise to leave many-toed paw prints all over your heart – not just because I’m eye candy but also because I’m so affectionate and loving.

OLYMPIC HIGH JUMPER

DOB 9/1/23

Hey there, everyone! I’m Moji, a sweet yet very playful pastel brown tabby gal with big round eyes set in my angelic face. My name is short for Emoji because I have very distinctive Happy Faces on both of my wrists. I clearly favor my Foster Daddy, and I absolutely love it when he scratches my ears, cheeks, and chin. Even though I’m the smallest of my litter and low to the ground, boy howdy, can I jump high when Foster Daddy waves the feather wand toy over my head!

The offspring of a feral momma, my litter of five was rescued from the mean streets of Houston by some Good Samaritans. I adore my foster home with all the indoor amenities like brimming food and water bowls, safety from predators, and climate control. The resident cats are fun to play with, and the big gentle Golden Retriever is a good nanny.

Now I’m ready to find my forever home, so I can’t wait to meet you! You’ll be a lucky family to have a sweetheart friend like me to pet and play with. Just give me a chance to relax and adjust to my new “digs.”

Moony #lucky-charm

You are here:
SWEET AND SASSY

DOB 5/27/23

Did you know that in Japan calico cats are thought to bring good luck? If your life needs a good-luck charm, I may be the furry talisman that you’ve been hankering for. Mew! Mew, everyone! I’m Moony, and I’m a very curious, cuddly, beautifully-marked calico gal who loves belly rubs, kisses, and snuggling close to my hoomans of all ages, including the young children in my foster home. I got my name because my coloring matches a Moon Pie.

We calico girls are renowned for our spunky, assertive personalities while simultaneously we’re sweet, loving, and loyal, and I’m no exception. I’m generally independent and don’t require constant attention, but I readily respond to the loving companionship of my entire foster family. Although I’m initially shy, I’m affectionate, friendly, and playful.

When my brother Moo Moo and I were about three weeks old, a Good Samaritan found us as orphans because a dog had killed our mom. As soon as future Foster Meowmy saw our sweet little faces, she agreed to take us into her home and bottle-feed us. We responded to her nurturing and fought to get back our health. It seemed like no time before we went from our fragile, malnourished condition to eating and playing all day long!

It helped that the family dog acted as a surrogate mom to us, even though admittedly she overly groomed us. We never complained! And we fit right in with the other older foster kittens to tumble and pounce, climb and wrestle until we collapsed exhausted in a kitten puddle. We eventually accepted the "baton" that was passed to us so we could teach and play gently with a four-week-old orphan tuxedo kitten when she arrived.

If you’re looking for a sassy, spunky yet loving, kid-friendly, pet-friendly kitten to fit into your home, I’d be a great choice. Arrange to meet me today!

Mothra #monster-duo-kitty

You are here:
SWEET TALKER

DOB 8/24/19

Well hello everyone! I’m Mothra, a smart, gregarious, curious brown tabby "princess" with white tuxedo markings. I was named after a giant flying moth that was a popular "heroic" monster in horror films. I absolutely LOVE people and the cuddles that we share. I’m a “talker” who chirps and trills for everyone when I greet them, and then I plop down to receive a good belly rub.

I get along great with the other gentle cats in my foster home as well as a service dog who drops by occasionally. I’m accustomed to the calm and quiet of my foster home, so I’d probably do best in a home without chaos and without kids.

My siblings Godzilla and Woobee were found with me as orphan kittens during Tropical Storm Imelda. Although I'm available separately, i would be the cat’s meow if I could be adopted with one of my siblings so we could keep each other company while you’re at work or on vacation.

If you’re looking for a beautiful, chatty princess who’s past the mayhem of kittenhood, I’m your girl! Arrange to meet me today! I promise to leave tiny paw prints all over your heart.

SHY, AFFECTIONATE GUY

DOB 9/10/22

Looking for a low-maintenance kitty? One who doesn't ask for much, but gives so much in return? Then Mowgli's your guy. This sweetheart loves any and all cat toys. In fact he can turn anything into a toy...a paper bag, a cardboard box, a balled up piece of paper, or a bottle cap. You get the idea.

Mowgli also is a shadow cat who will follow you from room to room, not necessarily needing attention, but just loves to be with his person. Mowgli doesn't necessarily like to be picked up, but he will come over and sit in your lap. Come meet Mowgli soon.

Nebula #lucky-star-litter

You are here:
MELLOW BUT MISCHIEVOUS

DOB 3/9/24

Hey there, everyone! I’m Nebula, a sweet, quiet, mellow “bicolor” gal who’s mostly white with gray on my head, back, and tail. I’m one of five in the #lucky-star-litter, and don’t let my serene disposition fool you into thinking that I can’t be just as mischievous as the rest of my siblings.

Aurora, Astro, Eclipse, Orion, and I were born to a stray community cat who was hanging out at an apartment complex.

Noodles #the-baker

You are here:
LOVES TO PLAY HIDE-AND-SEEK WITH HIS HOOMAN

DOB 3/22/22

Hey there, everyone! I’m Noodles, a super-sweet, friendly, and easygoing big red tabby fella with white tuxedo markings. My favorite pastime is purring and kneading biscuits on Foster Daddy’s thigh when he scratches my chin and chest. I love people and am one of those rare cats who doesn’t mind being picked up and held. I’m not clingy, but no matter what Foster Daddy is doing – sleeping, binging on Netflix, working at his desk -- I like to stay in the same room where is.

We have fun playing hide-and-seek together. I like to conceal myself in a corner and then jump out to ambush him when he walks by. Then he’s supposed to chase me around the house. I also love it when he dangles ribbons and ropes for me to chase or points the red laser dot for me to scramble after.

I’m extremely smart and understand when Foster Daddy tells me not to do something. For example, when I started to scratch the sofa, I picked it up immediately that I was supposed to redirect my behavior to the scratching post.

When my former owners abandoned me, I survived the mean streets of Houston for a few months by going to houses where I saw cats at the windows. Then I’d meow on their patios and even try to play with the indoor kitties through the sliding-glass door. Because I was so persistent and cute, my future foster daddy decided to bring me in.

In this crazy Houston weather, boy howdy, am I ever glad to be indoors forever and to kiss the hardscrabble outdoor life good-bye! I also appreciate the brimming food and water bowls, soft beds to sleep, and most of all, available hoomans to shower me with love and attention. Although I haven’t been around dogs or little kids, I get along great with other cats.

I like it here in my foster home, but I know what’s best for me is to have a forever home of my own the second time around. Arrange to meet me today! If you’re looking for a sociable yet chilled-out dude who’s the best biscuit-baker in Houston, I’m your man. As a bonus, you’ll get a lifetime supply of purrs and biscuits.

Noto #brother-of-Axl-Rose

You are here:
LOVES TO BUNNY-KICK HIS CATNIP TOY

DOB 4/15/23

Meow! Meow, everyone! I’m Noto, a sweet, shy, and undemanding black DSH/Bombay mix fella who has a sleek, shiny coat and is distinguished from my twin black brothers by my square jaw. Foster Meowmy chose my name because it means “known” in Japanese: she “knows” that I’m there, but I maintain a silent presence and don’t clamor for attention. I’m somewhat of an aloof loner who likes to sleep under the bed or in the smallest box that I can find -- except when I snuggle with my twin brother Axl Rose, with whom I’m especially bonded.

My favorite toy is one that I can embrace with my front paws and kick with my back legs. Boy howdy! It's quite something to see as I diligently work on punching it to kingdom come! Although I get along with the resident cats, Foster Meowmy thinks I’d do best in a quiet home without noisy small children or barking dogs.

Arrange to meet me today, and consider adopting me with my twin brother Axl Rose. That way we can keep each other company while you’re at work or on vacation.

Nyx #sister-of-Aurora

You are here:
MILK MOUSTACHE LIKE A BIG, WIDE GRIN

DOB 3/6/24

Hey there, everyone! I’m Nyx, and I’m a sweet and sassy tuxedo gal with a generously large white vest, tummy, and mittens. I was named after the Greek goddess of the night, who drives through the sky in a chariot pulled by horses. I look like my twin sister Aurora except I’m the one with the adorable milk moustache in the shape of a big, wide grin. Foster Meowmy thinks it makes me the cutest-looking baby ever!

I enjoy cuddling with Foster Meowmy but not for long because playtime is all the time for me. I enjoy playing soccer with the cat toys, batting at wand toys waved by the resident teenagers, but most of all tumbling and pouncing, wrestling and climbing with Aurora or the other foster kittens. I’m still figuring out how I feel about the two large, cat-friendly resident dogs, but at least they leave me alone while I’m deciding.

Foster Meowmy brought my neighborhood stray momma inside her garage during the January freeze. Since Momma was eating two cans of food a day, Meowmy realized that she was probably pregnant. Sure enough -- Aurora and I were born in foster care.

Although we’re available separately, it’d be the cat’s meow if Aurora and I could be adopted together. That way we could keep each other company while you're at work or on vacation. Arrange to meet me today! I promise to leave tiny paw prints all over your heart.

PLAYFUL KITTY

DOB 8/9/23

Meet Olivia, a lovely, playful kitty with a calm disposition. While she is very curious and seems to want to learn everything about her environment, she's beyond the destructive kitten stage. Give her an interactive toy, and she will play contentedly by herself or with other kitties.

Olivia was rescued from a backyard with her three siblings and enjoys the company of cats and dogs. Even though Olivia is independent, she seeks out human attention and cuddles. And when she's in your lap, her motor starts up, and she purrs non-stop. Olivia is looking for her next adventure and wants to share it with you.

Oreo #cuddle-bug

You are here:
LOVES TO SIT ON YOUR LAP OR FEET

DOB 3/6/24

Hey there, everyone! I’m Oreo the cuddle bug, a sweet, gentle, adoring tuxedo fella who loves to sit in Foster Meowmy’s lap (or on her feet if she stands in the same place for too long). I've got the most amazing long, black beard on my chin! You’ve heard of Sleepy Joe Biden? Well, he’s got nothing on me because I love to sleep for hours on end.

But I’m not entirely a couch potato. No siree! I love to tumble and pounce, climb and wrestle with my sister Cookie and brother Boo. Even though I’m the biggest, I allow them to win when we play-fight. When we’re all thoroughly exhausted, we collapse in a kitten puddle, which is fine by me!

Cookie, Boo, and I were found as 4-week-old orphans in a shed at a church. The church had been trying to get a big feral-cat colony under control, and they determined that our momma had disappeared. Thank heavens Foster Meowmy stepped up to the plate and took us in so that she could get us ready to be adopted.

That moment is here, and now I’m ready to find my forever home. If you’re looking for a loving and affectionate snuggle bunny, I’m the boy for you. Arrange to meet me today, and by the way, I get along great with the resident dogs and cats in my foster home.

Oreo & Hershey #bonded-sibs

VERY SPECIAL PAIR

DOB 10/11/23

These two lovely kitties would be thrilled to find a home together. What's better than a barrel of monkeys? A house full of kitties. These well-behaved kittens do have a lot of energy, but are generally very gentle and non-destructive. Oreo, the female, is more affectionate than her brother, Hershey, since he has a one-track mind when he starts playing with his toys. We believe Hershey may be somewhat special-needs as he was developmentally slower than his sister. Both know how to use the litterbox though and will delight you with their charming ways.

Otto #tuxedo-tabby

You are here:
SWEET BUT SHY

DOB 8/21/20

Meow! Meow, everyone! My name is Otto, and I’m a sweet though shy brown tabby fella with white tuxedo markings. Don’t you love my white locket and four white mittens? I’m very sweet with my foster meowmy as well as the other cats in my foster home. I love and trust my foster meowmy when she pets and holds me. I even allow her to clip my claws.

When I was about a month old, my foster meowmy found my three siblings and me in an old abandoned car. After she got us all vetted and vaccinated, I was supposed to be adopted with my sister Zelda. When I arrived at my new home, I was my typical shy self because I was scared, so I found a hidey hole. Unfortunately the family didn’t give me the chance to settle in and warm up to my new surroundings, so I immediately went back to my foster meowmy.

I’m looking for forever adopters who will be patient with me as I warm up and feel comfy in my new “digs.” Ideally they will want to adopt me with one of my foster playmates like Squeeken whom I know well. Nothing like the moral support of a buddy to build my confidence in new situations!

Arrange to meet me today! There are advantages in adopting a cat who's past the stage of kitten mayhem. I'd be much less likely to cause chaos in your home or break your treasured accessories.

Peppa #loves-to-be-held

You are here:
WONDERFUL LAP KITTY AND BED BUDDY

DOB 7/16/22

Mew! Mew, everyone! I’m Peppa, a sweet, loving, easy-going tuxedo gal who has an adorable black button nose. Foster Meowmy testifies that I am a wonderful lap kitty and bed buddy. When I want Meowmy to pick me up, I gently tap my paw on her leg as if to say, “Here I am! Take me into your arms and love me.”

Foster Meowmy found me as a 6-week-old orphan on the premises of a security company in northwest Houston and brought me home. I get along great with the other resident kitties as well as the cat-friendly dogs here. I’m a playful gal who loves to chase the red laser dot that Foster Meowmy bounces around the room.

However, scurrying after the frisky red dot has not always been a piece of cake for me. Out of the clear blue sky, I was challenged with mobility issues starting about a week after my spay surgery. Foster Meowmy was horrified to see me suddenly not be able to support the weight in my back legs, although that didn’t stop me from "walking on my elbows" the best I could, which was nevertheless at quite a fast clip. “My goodness,” heartbroken Foster Meowmy thought, “Peppa is just a 5-month-old kitten!”

For three months, Foster Meowmy did her due diligence and took me to several vets, but it wasn’t until she finally took me to a pain-management vet specialist in The Woodlands that she found someone who could treat me successfully and non-surgically. He diagnosed inflammation in both of my rear elbow joints from either a congenital or traumatic injury.

God bless him because he relieved my pain and inflammation with cortisone and joint lubricant injections in both my back legs and started me on a regimen of monthly Adequan injections. It wasn’t long before – voila - I was playing and running around as if nothing had ever been wrong! What a miracle, thanks to HOPE’s Emergency Medical fund, collected from sales of the annual HOPE cat calendar!

The good news is that with long-term arthritic management, I should be able to live a basically normal life. My only ongoing treatment is for Foster Meowmy to give me monthly Adequan injections. So, although I’m considered a “special-needs” kitty, my chronic mobility problems have responded splendidly to injections and are easily controlled. Aren’t you happy that I need no daily PILLS???

I hope that my technically being a special-needs kitty has not quashed your interest in having me plop myself in your lap or snuggle next to you in bed. I’d do fine as either a solo kitty or companion to your resident dog or cat. Also consider adopting me with one of my feline playmates with whom I’m already bonded. Two is better than one, and we can keep each other company while you’re at work or on vacation.

Princess #seeks-attention

You are here:
REGAL EYE-CANDY

DOB 8/25/22

Meow! Meow, everyone! I’m Princess, and I’m a sweet, shy, calm, and loving lynx-point Snowshoe/Siamese mix gal with gorgeous pale blue eyes that’ll melt your heart. I’m pretty stunning “eye candy,” if I do say so myself. I enjoy purring and being petted while I snuggle in Foster Meowmy’s lap.

Frankly, I could relax more with my hoomans – maybe even sleep with them -- if I didn’t get so distracted by the resident pets in my foster home. The male of the two cats is a real pest, and all the silly dog wants to do is play with me. So when Foster Meowmy is busy or not around, I entertain myself by playing alone with my toys.

I was a teenage momma who was living paw-to-mouth with my son Myles when future Foster Meowmy noticed us in her apartment complex. When she found out that he was in my second litter and that his siblings had died, she said, “Enough is enough!” Myles and I were so grateful that she brought us inside out of the rain and cold and that we could kiss the hardscrabble outdoor life goodbye.

Now I’m fixed so I’ll never be in the predicament of an unwanted teenage pregnancy again. So I’m ready for my forever home, and I hope it’s just as calm and quiet as I am. A family with well-behaved children who dote on me or empty-nesters who spend lots of time at home would be perfect because I’d love to be lavished with the hooman attention I crave.

Rocket #bathtub-five

You are here:
LOVES TO SOAK UP ATTENTION IN YOUR LAP

DOB 3/11/24

Hey there, everyone! I’m Rocket, a sweet, playful grey tabby fella who often looks like an elf with my large ears and impish expression. I love to climb up in Foster Meowmy’s lap so I can luxuriate in her attention. Actually, I’m such a well-adjusted dude that just about any lap will do if cuddling is my mission. I love to climb, and I got my name because I like to shoot up the cat tree like a rocket. I’m as playful as they come, and those little cat spring-toys are my favorite to bat around like a soccer ball.

Roo, Missy, Tigger, Sasha, and I have had a happy, safe, and secure kitten hood where we’ve been nurtured by Momma as well as freely mingled with the resident dogs and cats.

Now that I’m weaned and fixed, I’m ready to find my forever home. Could that be with you? Arrange to meet me today, and consider adopting me with one of my equally well-adjusted #bathtub-five siblings so that we can keep each other company while you’re at work or on vacation.

QUITE THE CUDDLER

DOB 3/11/24

Hey there, everyone! I’m Roo, a sweet, playful brown “ticked” tabby (rare coat pattern with few stripes or spots) fella who loves to cuddle with Foster Meowmy. That is, I snuggle when I’m not tearing around the house like a hurricane as I play soccer with spring-toys, chase strings, or leap at wand toys waved over my head. In fact, I was named after the baby kangaroo in Disney's Winnie the Pooh cartoon because I am so playful.

My momma Gracie Mae showed up as a young, friendly stray at Foster Meowmy’s apartment complex. Like a little furry bodyguard, she greeted residents by escorting them from their car to their front door. THIS GIRL HAS A BALL WITH BALLS

DOB 3/11/24

Hey there, everyone! I’m Sasha, a calm, curious, and playful black DSH/Bombay mix gal who craves attention and will meow until I’m noticed. Foster Meowmy thinks I’m “Little Miss Independent,” but I say that I’m just happy entertaining myself. I’m a very talented soccer player, and I seek out any ball I can find – crinkle, with a bell inside, foam – as long it rolls.

My momma Gracie Mae showed up as a young, friendly stray at Foster Meowmy’s apartment complex. Like a little furry bodyguard, she greeted residents by escorting them from their car to their front door. LOVES TO BE HELD

DOB 3/7/24

Hey there, everyone! I’m Sophie, a sweet, affectionate brown “ticked” tabby gal with white tuxedo markings. “Ticked” is a rare tabby coat pattern with few stripes or spots. I’m a happy lass who purrs constantly and loves it when Foster Meowmy picks me up and holds me.

My three siblings Radar, Hawkeye, and Margaret were found and rescued with me in north Houston. I’m the independent one of the bunch because, after we've roughhoused for a while, I like to go off on my own to take a “power catnap” to recharge my batteries. I’m slowly learning to be around the resident dogs and have already made friends with Foster Meowmy’s resident and foster cats. I'm especially bonded to another foster kitten named Tippy because we're almost the same age.

If you’re looking for a purr machine who loves to be held, I’m the girl for you. Arrange to meet me today! Consider adopting me with Tippy so we can keep each other company while you’re at work or on vacation.

Spotty #sister-of-Juniper

You are here:
BEAM ME UP, SPOTTY!

DOB 5/4/23

Hi there! I’m Spotty, a curious, cute, and crafty tortoiseshell “ninja” with a striking orange nose-blaze whose name was inspired by the Star Trek catchphrase “Beam me up, Spotty.” I’m not as shy as I was initially, and I’ve come to just love cuddling with Foster Meowmy. I’m like the Chatty Cathy doll because I have no trouble chirping and trilling for everyone.

Foster Meowmy found Momma, my sisters Minnie, Juniper, and Angel, and me in her yard one stormy May day. Thank heavens she brought us inside and promised to find us fantastic forever homes through HOPE. My foster home is calm and quiet without dogs or kids, but I have quite a rambunctious streak in me, so I’m open to a home with kids. I fit in well with the friendly resident kitties.

Now I’m ready to find the forever home that I was promised, and if you’re looking for a shy but chatty ninja, I’m your girl! Arrange to meet me today! I promise to leave tiny paw prints all over your heart. Please consider adopting me with Juniper so we can keep each other company while you’re at work or on vacation.

MORE TO HUG

DOB 8/30/22

Hi there, everyone! I’m Stella, a very sweet, quiet, easy-going, beautiful “bicolor” gal, which means that I’m mostly white with gray tabby on my head, back, and tail. My kitten Melanie and I were rescued from Foster Meowmy’s driveway when I was about one year old. I was pretty skittish when I first arrived, but my foster family has nurtured my trust because I’m very food motivated. I’m progressing on the socialization curve and becoming more and more affectionate because I love to be petted. Frankly, I’m very interested in being with people as well as the resident dogs.

I’m a mellow gal who loves to relax. My favorite place is hanging out in the family rocking chair. Since I was a stray who was living paw-to-mouth, I’d never had toys to play with. I’m quickly learning to have fun playing soccer with balls and catnip mice. I guess you’d say that I’m a “couch potato no more!”

I’m ready to find my forever home, and I’d welcome having friendly dogs or cats to be my fur buddies.  You might even consider adopting me with my daughter Melanie so we could keep each other company while you're at work or on vacation. Most of all I’d like my hoomans to be lavish in petting me and dispensing Temptation treats!

Arrange to meet me today! Incidentally, there are advantages to adopting a gal like me who's beyond the stage of kitten frenzy. I'm much less likely to cause chaos in your home or break your favorite accessories.

T'Challa #black-panther-prince

You are here:
LIKES TO SNUGGLE RIGHT NEXT TO YOU

DOB 10/1/22

Are you a fan of T’Challa, the fictional African prince who's called Black Panther in Marvel comics? Then you'll understand why Foster Meowmy gave me such an unusual moniker – I’m a sleek, strong, and handsome mini-black panther who looks to be a Bombay mix fella with my shiny patent-leather coat and big globe eyes.

I’m a sweet boy who loves the Eskimo kisses Foster Meowmy showers on me when she picks me up. Although I’m not a lap cat per se, I am a Velcro cat who likes to stick close to her. I prefer to position myself right next to her when she’s lying in bed or sitting on the sofa, and I'll follow her into the bathroom if she allows me.

I’m a smart fella who, like many Bombays, is very dog-like. I've learned to "sit" as well as to give “high fives.” Plus I’m a playful athlete who loves to play fetch. I scamper off to grab whatever toy Foster Meowmy tosses for me and even sometimes bring it back!

I showed up as a stray at Foster Meowmy’s house, and when her family showed me some love and attention, I decided to hang out permanently – rain or shine -- on their front porch. So they decided that I was someone’s misplaced pet who needed to be brought inside. I adjusted easily to the indoor life and play very well with the six resident cats. Foster Meowmy is amazed that when they surround me, I’m not aggressive at all, even when the grumpy ones try to provoke me. Yes, I always act like the African prince that I am!

Although I’m contented with my foster family, I realize that it’s time for me to find a loving forever home of my very own. I hope you’ll arrange to meet me today! I have so much love to give – all I need is YOU! Incidentally, there are advantages to adopting a kitty who's past the mayhem of kittenhood. I'm much less likely to cause chaos in your home or break your treasured accessories.

Tango #bestie-of-Little-Bobbie

You are here:
"MOST WONDERFUL OF KITTENS"

DOB 4/7/22

Howdy everyone! I’m Tango, a loving and mellow yet funny and lively red tabby fella with a warm personality and a great sense of humor. Foster Meowmy describes me as “the most wonderful of kittens who deserves an A+ home.”

I was found as an orphan in the street next to a pile of debris in the Lindale area. I fit right into my foster home where there were several other rescued kittens who were my same age, although we‘re not related.

I have so much fun playing with my surrogate siblings. We tumble and pounce, climb and wrestle with each other, and when we’re thoroughly exhausted from all the fun, we collapse in a kitten puddle.

It would be the cat’s meow if I could be adopted with one of my foster mate Little Bobbie. I’d be happy to give you an extra kiss because we could keep each other company while you’re at work or on vacation.

I get along great with the 3 resident adult cats and 2 big dogs in my foster home, so there are a lot of households where I would fit like a glove. Arrange to meet me today! You'll fall in love with me the second you meet me. I'm all ready to settle into my A+ new home!

Tigger #bathtub-five

You are here:
RUNS OFF WITH WHOLE FISHING TOY

DOB 3/11/24

Hey there, everyone! I’m Tigger, a boisterous and exuberant brown Classic tabby fella who likes to bounce around like my namesake in Disney’s Winnie the Pooh cartoons. “Classic” tabby means that I have handsome marble swirls on my side instead of the typical mackerel-fish stripes.

I’m the Marco Polo explorer of my litter, and Foster Meowmy has to watch to be sure that I don’t crawl into the refrigerator. What can I say – every open door beckons me to investigate. I’m also an ace on climbing the cat tree; I guess I fancy myself a feline mountaineer. I also like to play with wand toys in a unique way – I grab the string and run off with the whole toy.

Roo, Rocket, Missy, Sasha, and I have had a happy, safe, and secure kitten hood where we’ve been nurtured by Momma as well as freely mingled with the resident dogs and cats.

Now that I’m weaned and fixed, I’m ready to find my forever home. Could that be with you? Arrange to meet me today, and consider adopting me with one of my equally well-adjusted #bathtub-five siblings so that we can keep each other company while you’re at work or on vacation.

Tippy #bonded-to-Sophie

You are here:
HAS NEVER MET A STRANGER

DOB 3/18/24

Hey there, everyone! I’m Tippy, a sweet, friendly, and very affectionate red mackerel tabby with white tuxedo markings. I love to investigate every nook and cranny, and I’m not afraid of new places or the new people whom I encounter when I pretend to be a Marco Polo explorer.

I was rescued near the 610 Loop as a tiny, orphaned kitten with no trace of my momma or littermates. Nevertheless, I was already well socialized and fearless around people. This leads Foster Meowmy to speculate that I was someone’s pet who was dumped -- perhaps when my owner got evicted or had some kind of financial crisis.

I fit in seamlessly with the other foster kittens, resident cats, and friendly dogs in my foster home. In fact, the older cats have become my aunts and uncles to teach me all of the things momma would’ve taught me if she’d been around, and the other foster kittens are my fun-loving playmates. I’m especially bonded to Sophie because we’re almost the same age. We tumble and pounce, wrestle and climb, and when we’re exhausted we collapse in a kitten puddle.

Now I’m ready to find my forever home. Arrange to meet me, and consider adopting me with Sophie so we can keep each other company while you’re at work or on vacation.

Tofu #tiny-but-mighty

You are here:
SPUNKY LITTLE LAP CAT

DOB 4/1/24

Hey there, everyone! I’m Tofu, a very loving, friendly, affectionate, and spunky flame-point Siamese mix fella with Paul-Newman ice-blue eyes. I’m a very sociable chap who vocally demands a lot of quality cuddling, petting, or napping time in Foster Meowmy’s lap. Call me a busybody, but I also like to be her little shadow by following her around so I can monitor all that she’s doing as she goes about her day.

A Good Samaritan found me as a tiny, dirty, flea-bitten, sad-faced orphan who was plaintively meowing because my momma and littermates were nowhere in sight. Fortunately, Foster Meowmy was called to my rescue. She realized that I’d probably been someone’s pet previously because I eagerly allowed her pick me up. When we got home, I immediately roamed freely around the house and fearlessly introduced myself to the two resident cats and dog. I guess you’d say that I’m like a little Napoleon because, even though I’m small, I have the mind of a huge prowling cat when I sneak up on my hoomans and other cats.

I’m a playful boy who can entertain myself by playing soccer with my balls and catnip mice. Of course, I adore interactive play when Foster Meowmy or the kids wave the wand toy over my head. I enjoy playing hide-and-seek from inside the Tide box with the resident red tabby. When I’m thoroughly exhausted, I’ll curl up in a cozy lap or soft, comfy spot for a quick cat nap.

Now I’m ready for my forever home, so I hope you’ll arrange to meet me. I’d love to be adopted with another HOPE feline or to be the perfect new addition to a home with resident felines to keep me company while you’re at work or on vacation. If my new home also has kids and dogs, that’s right up my alley as well. Since I have such a spunky personality, the more activity, the better, as far as I’m concerned.

LOVES CUDDLING WITH HIS HOOMANS

DOB 3/2/24

Hey there, everyone! I’m Tom, a friendly, outgoing, sociable, and playful black DSH/Bombay mix fella who loves to cuddle with my foster family, which includes young girls. My brother Jerry and I were found as two-week-old orphans at an apartment complex, and all the handling for our bottle-feedings made us very used to being held and carried around by hoomans.

Incidentally, although Jerry and I are available separately, we think it’d be the cat’s meow if we could be adopted together so we can keep each other company while you’re at work or on vacation.

Tom Sandoval #plays-iPad-games

You are here:
SNUGGLY SIESTA KING

DOB 4/15/23

If you think the actor Tom Sandoval looks like a hunk dressed in black, you should see me! Meow! Meow, everyone! I’m Tom Sandoval’s namesake, an affectionate, saucy, friendly black DSH/Bombay mix kitten with a sleek, shiny coat. I can be quite the snuggly Siesta King who loves to curl up in bed with either Foster Meowmy or my sister Maddox, with whom I'm very bonded. I soak up any attention that Foster Meowmy gives me, especially when she’s dispensing Temptation treats.

I’m a playful guy who loves to play soccer with toy mice as well as engage with iPad games. And of course I love to tumble and pounce, climb and wrestle with my three sisters, Maddox, Lala, and Katie. I can also entertain myself by scaling the cat tower and playing with its dangling toys.

When my Foster Meowmy was walking on her driveway one day, she spotted my feral momma and my litter of four under the house of her next door neighbor. She trapped, spayed, and released Momma but brought us kittens inside to socialize us. We fit in beautifully with her other pets, and now that we're ready to be adopted, she promises to find us all fantastic homes.

If you’re looking for a handsome, gentle, easy-going fella who gets along with other cats and small dogs, arrange to meet me! Consider adopting me with one of my sisters so we can keep each other company while you’re at work or on vacation.

ONE CHILL DUDE

DOB 7/23/23

Meow! Meow, everyone! I’m Trevor, a sweet, very friendly brown tabby fella who’s always chill and laid-back. Not much ruffles me, and I’m never aggressive or agitated with the other foster kitties. A bonus is that I get along great with the resident dogs. Although I was initially shy when I met Foster Meowmy, now when she opens the door, I run up to greet her with my tail as straight as a flagpole.

My brother Ira and I were born in a garage in Katy, and when we were eight weeks old, we were brought to Foster Meowmy to get ready for adoption. She thinks I’m a handsome boy with my long legs, and she marvels that I’m slim and trim despite the fact that I’m a hearty eater.

Tris #sister-of-Alice

You are here:
TAKES THE PRIZE FOR SWEET

DOB 8/7/22

Mew! Mew, everyone! I’m Tris, a friendly, confident, and playful bicolor gal who loves to spend time with my Foster Meowmy. I’m called a bi-color because I’m mostly white with gray tabby on my head, back, and tail. My foster meowmy says she's never met a group of kitties as sweet we are, and she considers ME the “star of sweet!”

I was rescued by a kind woman who found me and my sisters Lucy, Alice, and Victoria as orphaned kittens when we were so young that we needed to be bottle-fed.

Although we haven’t been around kids in our foster home, I’m sure we’d be fine with well-mannered children because we’ve been very comfortable around the Great Pyrenees dog and the other resident cats. These kitties have acted like aunts and uncles who've taught us everything that our momma would've taught us if she'd been around.

I hope you’ll arrange to meet me! I promise that you’ll find that I’m perfect! Consider adopting me with my sister Alice. Two is better than one, and we could keep each other company while you’re at work or on vacation.

Truffle #easy-going-easy-care-easy-to-love

You are here:
DILIGENT BISCUIT-MAKER

DOB 9/1/22

Hey there, everyone! I’m Truffle, and I was awarded my moniker because I’m as indulgently sweet and easy to enjoy as a chocolate truffle. I’m a calm, laid-back Bombay mix gal with bright copper-penny eyes and a sleek, shiny black-patent-leather coat. Nothing much bothers me – people, other cats, loud sounds, or even general chaos. Being such a “chill” lass makes me easy-care and definitely easy to love.

And believe me, I’ve got plenty of love to reciprocate during my quality time hanging out with my hoomans. My favorite spot is in Foster Meowmy’s lap while she’s giving me a deep massage, a.k.a. petting me. That’s when I let my purr motor roar and get busy making biscuits on her thigh to show my delight. True confessions: I’ve been known to get a little “lost in the moment” when I’ve rolled off her lap in my ecstasy.

If she’s sitting on the floor with me, I’ll luxuriate in her petting me by plopping down on her hand and rolling around, constantly purring. Or maybe I’ll give her the old elevator-butt to ask her for a little more. However, make no mistake, I’m no couch potato! I’m a fierce panther when Foster Meowmy waves the wand toys over my head. And I think she likes it that I welcome her at the door to greet her when she comes home after a hard day. It’s fine with me if she picks me up to give me a big hug and kiss.

I was a friendly stray, a teenage momma with a litter of kittens, who was living paw-to-mouth when I found my way to the community-cat feeding station of a kind family. I was looking for a safe refuge, and thankfully they took us in and got us all “fixed.” Now that I’m retired from being a doting momma, I’m ready to find my forever home. If you’re looking for a loving, low-maintenance kitty with an easy demeanor, I’m you’re gal! Arrange to meet me today, and I promise to be as delightful to enjoy as kicking back with a good box of chocolate truffles.

Valentino #feline-heart-throb

MORE TO HUG

DOB 5/1/21

Hey there, everyone! I’m Valentino, a sweet, easygoing, extra-large harlequin cat. “Harlequin” means that I’m mostly white with a few large orange-tabby patches on my head and back. I got my name because, like the famous 1920’s actor, “the Latin Lover” Rudy Valentino, I’m a real sex symbol for the ladies – both 2-legged and 4-legged.

I’ve taken quite a shine to my Foster Meowmy, and vice versa, because she shares her lap with me. I love it when she scratches my chin, cheeks, and ears, and we enjoy hanging out together. This could include binging on Animal Planet and Netflix or cuddling in her arms. I may be extra large, but that just means that I’ve got more for her to hug.

I guess you’re wondering why a handsome gentle giant like me needs a new home. Well, my former caretaker loaded me up in my carrier and abandoned me at the Arthur Storey Park off the Beltway 8. I guess the idea was that someone would feel sorry for me without food and water and take me in. Fortunately -- you guessed it -- a Good Samaritan rescued me and contacted HOPE. Thank heavens my foster meowmy stepped up to the plate, and now I’ve got all the food, water, and TLC imaginable.

Although I’m happy in my foster home and get along great with the resident kitties, I know what’s best for me is to have a forever home of my very own. Could that be with you? Arrange to meet my sweet self, but be prepared for me to leave my big paw prints all over your heart. I have so much love to give -- all I need is YOU! Incidentally, there are advantages to adopting an adult cat like me who’s long past the mayhem of kittenhood. I’m much less likely to cause chaos in your home or break your treasured accessories.

Hey there, everyone! I’m Violet, and I’m a gentle, friendly, and affectionate “patched” brown tabby gal with white tuxedo markings. “Patched” means that I have a few patches of orange tabby on my legs, neck, and face, which makes it look like I was splashed with caramel in a candy factory. My favorite spot is cuddled next to Foster Meowmy’s thigh where I can soak up her undivided attention as she brushes me or scratches my ears, cheeks, and chin. During these euphoric petting sessions, I’m a talkative gal who expresses my delight by my purring and contentedly chirping.

Foster Meowmy’s yard man discovered my five 3-4 week-old kittens scampering around the back yard, which was news to Foster Meowmy. Sure enough, when she went out to investigate, there I was in a patch of dirt, calmly nursing my little family. I was so friendly that it was evident that I was someone’s misplaced or abandoned pet who’d had a crisis pregnancy and become a momma when I was only 10 months old. First Foster Meowmy made an outdoor shelter for my little family, but then she brought us all indoors when some torrential Houston thunderstorms blew through.

We’ve all adapted well to the amenities of indoor life, which includes love, attention, and plenty of handling by all ages of hoomans. Even though I think two-legged critters are wonderful, I’m not too keen on the four-legged residents in my foster home. So, unless you adopt me with one of my kits, I need to be an only pet-child.

I've been a nurturing momma to my five little ones, and now that they're weaned, I've permanently retired from being a doting momma and am ready for an adoring family to call my own. If you’re looking for a sweet, loving, mosaic-colored companion to cuddle next to you while we binge on Netflix or Animal Planet, I’m your gal! Arrange to meet me today! I just need a few minutes together with you, and I promise to capture your heart.

SPUNKY CUDDLEBUG

DOB 8/24/19

Hi everyone! I’m Woobee, a spunky, funny, entertaining Turkish Van mix gal who’s mostly white with black on my head and tail. Don’t you love my white blaze running up my nose? Because I’m such a snuggler, I was named after the child’s security blanket popularized in the movie “Mr. Mom.”

I’m a lap cat extraordinaire. I absolutely LOVE people and the cuddles that we share. I'm full of zany antics and have a plucky attitude. I’ll bunny-kick a stuffed animal and then come sit in your lap to get praise and to snuggle.

I get along great with the other gentle cats in my foster home as well as a service dog who drops by occasionally. I’m accustomed to the calm and quiet of my foster home, so I’d probably do best in a home without chaos and without kids.

My siblings Mothra and Godzilla were found with me as orphan kittens during Tropical Storm Imelda. Although I'm available separately, it would be the cat’s meow if I could be adopted with one of my siblings so we could keep each other company while you’re at work or on vacation. If you’re looking for a real lap cat who’s the life of the party and who’s past the mayhem of kittenhood, I’m your girl! Arrange to meet me today! I promise to leave tiny paw prints all over your heart.

Zephyr #graffiti-boy

STREET URCHIN TO PAMPERED PET

DOB 4/28/23

Have you ever seen a kitten whose body looks like a canvas that a graffiti artist has started splashing with tiny spots of black paint? Meow! Meow, everyone! I’m Zephyr, a sweet and playful fella who’s pure white except for my black toupee and just a few pale smudges of gray on my shoulders.

My brothers, Banksy and Donti, and I are fascinated by everything in the bathroom.

I’m particularly bonded to Donti. We’re always up to some kind of kitten business – exploring, menacing each other, wrestling with each other.
