Hey there, everyone! I’m Abigail, a.k.a. Lil’ Orphan Abby, who’s “the funniest and sweetest girl,” according to Foster Meowmy, who’s fostered LOTS of kittens in her lifetime. I’m a friendly, affectionate tuxedo gal with a white blaze up my nose, and I soak up all the attention that Foster Meowmy can give me. If she’s preoccupied with brushing her teeth, I’ve figured out that I can climb up on the bathroom counter and strategically place myself so it’ll be easy for Foster Meowmy to pet me with her other hand. That’s when I turn on my really loud purr motor.

When I was about 10 weeks old, someone dumped me on Foster Meowmy’s front porch, probably because she’s the neighborhood cat lady. Fortunately Meowmy decided to take out the trash at 2 am, and there I was -- like a little Amazon Prime delivery. I was friendly and had no fleas, but -- boy howdy – was I scared. She brought me inside, and an adult tuxedo kitty, who’d been added to the foster mix about three months previously, decided that I was her long-lost baby. Squeeken and I have been besties from the get-go. We play, and she grooms me as well as teaches me all the manners my momma would’ve taught me if she’d been around.

Although we’re available separately, Squeeken and I think it’d be the cat’s meow if we were adopted together. Two is more fun than one, especially when we look like a tuxedo mother/daughter duo. Mew! Mew, everyone! I’m Alice, a sweet, curious, playful Turkish Van mix gal who’s mostly white with gray tabby on my head and tail. Everyone falls in love with me when my beautiful face stares up into their eyes. I love food, love to play, and love to investigate my surroundings.

I was rescued by a kind woman who found me and my sisters Tris, Lucy, and Victoria as orphaned kittens when we were so young that we needed to be bottle-fed. Once we were eating on our own, our tenderhearted future Foster Meowmy responded to the plea on the HOPE FaceBook page that we needed someone to foster us until we were adopted. She brought us to our foster home, where we enjoy tumbling and pouncing, climbing and wrestling with each other until we collapse in a kitten puddle. I’m a happy girl whose life is a repeated cycle of play-sleep-eat.

Since we were bottle-fed and familiar with being handled by hoomans, we’ve always been very friendly and sociable – even with strangers. In fact, we come out to meet visitors! Although we haven’t been around kids in our foster home, I’m sure we’d be fine with well-mannered children because we’ve been very comfortable around the Great Pyrenees dog (I really bonded to him.) and the other resident cats. These kitties have acted like aunts and uncles who've taught us everything that our momma would've taught us if she'd been around.

Hey there, everyone! I’m Aurora, and I’m a 100% sweet but initially shy tuxedo gal with a generously large white vest, tummy, and mittens. I look like my twin sister Nyx except I’m the one with the upside-down heart around my nose. No wonder I’m a sweetheart (wink)!

I’m a brave Marco Polo explorer who enjoys investigating all the nooks and crannies around the house. Foster Meowmy calls me Little Miss Independent because I can entertain myself so well. I enjoy playing soccer with the chirping cat toys, batting at wand toys waved by the resident teenagers, but most of all tumbling and pouncing, wrestling and climbing with Nyx or the other foster kittens. I don’t really mind the two large, cat-friendly resident dogs because they leave me alone.

Foster Meowmy brought my neighborhood stray momma inside her garage during the January freeze. Since Momma was eating two cans of food a day, Meowmy realized that she was probably pregnant. Sure enough -- Nyx and I were born in foster care.

Did you watch Disney’s “The Jungle Book” and fall in love with Bagheera, the black panther, and Mowgli, the orphan boy whom Bagheera mentors? Well, we’re bonded brothers who are the feline versions of these storybook friends, and we’d just love to make our home with you! We’re sweet, affectionate, initially shy black DSH/Bombay mix fellas with sleek, shiny patent-leather coats and big copper-penny eyes. Bombay mixes are often called Velcro cats because we like to stick close to our hoomans, and we’re both no exception.

When we were orphaned kittens about six months old, our foster meowmy rescued us from dumpster-diving at the Jusgo/Sugar Land grocery store. We were so happy to kiss our hardscrabble life behind! Once we adjusted to brimming food bowls, clean water, soft beds, and other amenities of indoor life, Foster Meowmy became our hero and constant companion.

Bagheera says, “I was extremely shy at first, but she gave me time to adjust. Now I sleep with her, occasionally jump in her lap, and always want to be close to her. I love to rest on the adjacent ottoman or an empty cardboard box.”

Mowgli says, “I don’t necessarily like to be picked up, but I'll jump on Foster Meowmy’s lap so she can scratch my ears, chin, and cheeks. Foster Meowmy calls me her ‘shadow cat’ because I follow her from room to room since I just like to be with her. I’m a playful dude who loves any and all cat toys. In fact, I can turn anything into a toy -- a paper bag, a cardboard box, paper-wad, or a bottle cap. You get the idea."

Now we’re ready to find our forever home. We clam up at HOPE adoption days because of all the noise and chaos, so we might not show our ideal personalities until we came to your home on a sleepover/trial adoption. Foster Meowmy realizes that we are very bonded and therefore thinks that we'd do best if adopted together, and HOPE will reduce our adoption fee if we go as a bonded pair. That’s best anyway because we can keep each other company while you’re at work or on vacation.

If you can be as tender, patient, and caring as our foster meowmy has been in allowing us to settle in and warm up to our new surroundings, we’re the fellas for you! We’re low-maintenance, don’t demand a lot, but give so much in return. Let’s write a new chapter in our lives together!

Hey there, everyone! I’m Baguette, and I’m a big, burly Russian Blue mix fella who’s one of the #bread-batch-five. Our momma birthed us on Foster Meowmy’s backyard patio because she knew we’d be safe. Thank heavens Foster Meowmy brought Momma as well as Naan, Croissant, Panini, Pita, and me inside to join the resident cats and small dog.

We all love to tumble and pounce, climb and wrestle with each other. Since we’ve been handled since we were wee tykes, we’re all lap kittens who like to cuddle on Foster Meowmy’s lap -- either individually or in one big kitten puddle -- when we’re exhausted from our play sessions. I usually claim the center spot in her lap for the group cuddling. When I’m alone on her lap, Foster Meowmy puts me on my back, and if I try to wiggle away, she gets me to stay still by gently massaging my face. Boy howdy – that feels sooooo good.

I’m the biggest of my litter and have the loudest purr. Like a typical kitten, “play, eat, and cuddle” is the circadian rhythm of my day. I like to chase the feather wand toy, carry catnip mice in my mouth, climb the scratching post, and play on the cat tree. I’m the first to run to the food when it’s dinner time. My brother Panini and I compete to be the first to bum-rush the foster-room door as soon as Foster Meowmy opens it. I’m always ready to explore every nook and cranny in the house

Have you ever seen a kitten whose body looks like a canvas that a graffiti artist has started splashing with tiny spots of black paint? Meow! Meow, everyone! I’m Banksy, a sweet and playful fella who’s pure white except for a black semi-colon between my ears. I’m one of the #graffiti-boys who were all named after graffiti street-artists because our momma Clara birthed us on the mean streets of Houston. The good news is that I’m a little street urchin no longer. No siree! I’ve been babied, cuddled, and kissed ever since I was rescued and started living in my foster home, where I eat yummy culinary delights and sleep on soft down pillows! Yep, I’m truly a pauper-turned-prince!

My brothers, Zephyr and Donti, and I are fascinated by everything in the bathroom. That’s because there’s all kinds of great things there -- toilet paper, paper towels, rugs, humans, toys, shampoo, water, and our favorite, the occasional roach. I can’t describe the fun of rolling ping pong balls and cat spring-toys – anything with curves – along the sides of the bathtub like it’s the perfect skateboard park.

And it’s fun to sit on the edge of the tub and play hide-and-seek behind the shower curtain. We’ve destroyed a few shower curtains by batting each other with our little claws, but Foster Meowmy thinks that’s a small price to pay for the hours of enjoyment we have playing peek-a-boo through the clear plastic.

I’m a playful girl whose favorite things are kitty tunnels, boxes, and toy mice. When I need a "time out" after playing or from my housemates, I  prefer to bask in sunbeams on the windowsill or curl up on top of the refrigerator.

Hey there, everyone! I’m Bloom, a sweet, talkative, playful silver tabby gal with big, green eyes who likes to tell you how I feel about things! Foster Meowmy rescued me as a neighborhood stray. Boy howdy, I was glad when she brought me inside to safety! At first I was very shy and skittish as I allowed hands, loud noises, and new people to frighten me.

Thank heavens Foster Meowmy knew to be patient with me, and it wasn’t too long before I came out of my shell and starting displaying my rambunctious personality. I can transform into a ball of energy who zooms around the house and plays with anything because, in my eyes, everything is a toy – including fingers and toes.

I also have a cuddly side to my personality as I like to sleep in bed with Foster Meowmy. My favorite post-playtime activity is basking in a patch of sunshine at the top of the cat tree. My ideal home would be a quiet one with one other male cat, although I tolerate the resident dogs in my foster home.

Meet Brooklyn, a sweet, petite ticked tabby girl. Brooklyn is a uniquely marked tabby with ticking on her back. She loves being held but may make you work for her affection. Once she's in your arms, she reverberates with purrs.

Brooklyn and her brother, Tokyo, are a great pair and would keep you entertained for hours. They love exploring and finding hidden treasures. Brooklyn is more of a ground dweller, while Tokyo prefers to higher places like cat-treetops.

Hey there, everyone! I earned my name Button because I’m “cute as a button.” I’m a petite, affectionate, playful tuxedo gal with an adorable stripe down my nose. I love it so much when Foster Meowmy scratches my chin, cheeks, and ears that I turn on my purr motor and “make biscuits” to show my ecstasy. Sometimes I give her “sandpaper kisses” with my tongue, and on very special occasions I’ll curl up next to her or in her lap for a nap.

I really enjoy all different kinds of cat toys, i.e. tower of balls, cat tunnel, catnip mice, and crinkle balls, but wand toys are my favorite because they let me show off my athletic prowess. I totally focus when I lunge and pounce as Foster Meowmy waves it over my head, and I can get so lost in the moment that I start panting to catch my breath.

In my quieter, low-key moments, I’ll find a patch of sunshine on the window ledge so I can watch all the wildlife scamper, climb, or fly by me. I’m perfectly content to spend the day napping while Foster Meowmy’s at work, and as soon as she returns, I run up to greet her by winding around her legs to plant my pheromones.

I was found as a “spicy” kitten in Foster Meowmy’s neighbor’s yard, and, because I was scared of people, I was released outside after I was spayed. I grew up among the neighborhood stray cats and was a faithful diner at the colony feeding station.  However, over the next few years, I grew to trust my feeders/caretakers. So when I was injured during a cat fight, I decided to come inside and allow Foster Meowmy to treat me in my recovery.

Once inside, I realized that the pampered indoor life has big advantages, i.e. brimming food and water bowls, temperature control, and safety from predators. I’d never enjoyed delicious treats, catnip, or wet food before! So I’m relieved to kiss the hardscrabble life good-bye and anticipate finding a loving forever home for this next phase of my life. Mew! Mew, everyone! I’m Clara, a super-sweet, quiet, demure charcoal grey and white tuxedo gal who’s actually the retired momma of the #graffiti-boys litter. I'm a real beauty because I have a sleek, shiny coat that's soft as a bunny's fur, and my big green eyes are mesmerizing!

I’m not a big fan of being picked up, but I love it when Foster Meowmy scratches my chin, cheeks, and chin as well as when she gently caresses my back. I was initially shy when I first arrived in my foster home, but once I got to know and trust Foster Meowmy (thanks to treats and yummy food!), I started relaxing.

Meowmy is very conscious that sudden movements make me nervous, so she makes sure that she moves around me very slowly. You see, I was rescued from an apartment complex as a stray momma cat with my three boys, so my radar always on the alert for danger to protect my babies from predators. Admittedly, it took a while for that mindset to be discarded and for me to wake up to the reality that I was suddenly living in a safe, secure environment of plenty.

Although my three boys, Dondi, Zephyr, and Banksy, were weaned long ago, I can’t resist being the “helicopter momma” who’s always in the background watching out for them. Even though I’m a dainty lass, I even join in their roughhousing from time to time. I become somewhat of a police officer when it comes to the other resident cats and my boys. The fact is – I’ll always love my sons!

Most of the time, I stay out of the way and am as quiet as a mouse. (Who wouldn't be when her sons are such flamboyant characters?) I’m happy to keep to myself and don’t demand a lot of attention from Foster Meowmy, although I luxuriate when she does pet me. Now it’s time for me and my family to find out forever homes. All I ask for is a quiet home with people who know the power of a gentle touch. And it would be the cat's meow if I could be adopted with Banksy.

I’m initially a timid observer of the antics of my bolder and more outgoing siblings, but my kitten curiosity always gets the best of me. Have you ever seen a kitten whose body looks like a canvas that a graffiti artist has started splashing with tiny spots of black paint? Meow! Meow, everyone! I’m Dondi, a sweet and playful fella who’s pure white except for my black toupee and pale smudges of gray on my shoulders, back, and haunches. I’m one of the #graffiti-boys who were all named after graffiti street-artists because our momma Clara birthed us on the mean streets of Houston. The good news is that I’m a little street urchin no longer. No siree! I’ve been babied, cuddled, and kissed ever since I was rescued and started living in my foster home, where I eat yummy culinary delights and sleep on soft down pillows! Yep, I’m truly a pauper-turned-prince!

My brothers, Banksy and Zephyr, and I are fascinated by everything in the bathroom. That’s because there’s all kinds of great things there -- toilet paper, paper towels, rugs, humans, toys, shampoo, water, and our favorite, the occasional roach. I can’t describe the fun of rolling ping pong balls and cat spring-toys – anything with curves – along the sides of the bathtub like it’s the perfect skateboard park.

And it’s fun to sit on the edge of the tub and play hide-and-seek behind the shower curtain. We’ve destroyed a few shower curtains by batting each other with our little claws, but Foster Meowmy thinks that’s a small price to pay for the hours of enjoyment we have playing peek-a-boo through the clear plastic.

I’m particularly bonded to Zephyr. We’re always up to some kind of kitten business – exploring, menacing each other, wrestling. When we’re exhausted, we collapse in a kitten puddle with Banksy and may even nuzzle with our sweet momma Clara.

Meow! Meow, everyone! We’re Dumpling and Dim Sum, a bonded pair of brown-tabby brothers who are ultra-sweet, friendly, and affectionate. We love to cuddle with our hoomans almost as much as with each other. We’re a happy pair who’s always purring and making biscuits, whether we’re snuggled with each other or having our chins scratched in Foster Meowmy’s lap.

A Good Samaritan found us and dropped us off at PetSmart/Pearland, and thankfully our foster meowmy agreed to welcome us into her home until we can find a fantastic forever home. She’s insisting that we be adopted together because we’re inseparable best friends who love each other very much.

We fit into our foster home beautifully. We enjoy playing with each other as well as when Foster Meowmy interacts with us using a wand toy with enticing hanging balls. We’re also curious and love to explore, so watch those open cabinet and closet doors! We may sneak inside for a peek.

Hey there, everyone! I’m Eclipse, a sweet, beautifully marked harlequin gal with a big black heart on my left side. “Harlequin” means that I’m mostly white with large patches of black. I’m one of five in the #lucky-star-litter, and I’m tiny but mighty. In fact, I’m the most vocal of the bunch. I make sure Foster Meowmy knows when she needs to give me some attention and when it’s mealtime. Small as I am, I don’t let my siblings mess with me!

Aurora, Astro, Nebula, Orion, and I were born to a stray community cat who was hanging out at an apartment complex. Momma brought us inside a nice lady’s apartment and just made herself at home. The nice lady fed Momma for while she was nursing us; only problem was that the nice lady wasn’t allowed to have pets in her apartment. Fortunately her good friend is a regular HOPE foster meowmy, and she stepped up to the plate and brought us home to foster when we were 6.5 weeks old and fully weaned.

We fit in great with the other resident cats as well as the dog, and all of them act as great surrogate aunts and uncles. And we all love it that Foster Meowmy’s home is fully equipped with toys for us to play soccer with and to chase as we flip in the air. Of course, my siblings and I tumble and pounce, wrestle and climb with each other, and then we collapse in a kitten puddle when we’re exhausted.

Hello everyone! I’m Elsa, a sweet, stunningly beautiful black DSH/Bombay mix with a sleek, shiny patent-leather coat and big, copper-penny eyes. I’m independent and very inquisitive. I’m initially shy but am so food-driven that I always nudge closer to my foster meowmy for a good treat.

I have unique facial markings, big green eyes, and fur as soft as a bunny’s. I’m quite a lovely package, not to mention that it’s rare for female kitties to be red tabbies.

I like to snuggle next to Foster Meowmy’s thigh rather than on her lap, and I enjoy it when she picks me up for a quick cuddle. I luxuriate when she pets me – whether it’s scratching my cheeks, chin, and ears or rubbing my back and belly. I like to hang out in the same room as Foster Meowmy just to be near her as well as to monitor her activities Although I don’t interfere, if you need a supurr-viser, I'm the gal for you!

My birth momma scoped out the neighborhood and decided that the doormat of Foster Meowmy’s back patio was the perfect spot to bring her litter when we were almost newborns. I’m so grateful that Momma wanted a better life for us than the hardscrabble outdoor life and that Foster Meowmy invited us in. All I can remember is being indoors with Foster Meowmy and her other foster cats, although I haven’t been around dogs or kids. I’m a teenager at heart, so I can entertain myself by playing soccer with my crinkle balls and catnip mice, but I also enjoy roughhousing with the other kitties.

Howdy everyone! I’m Godzilla, a goofy, sassy, curious, and energetic brown tabby fella who’s proud of my monster-name. I may be a big boy like Godzilla, but I’m a sweet marshmallow at heart. I absolutely LOVE people and the cuddles that we share.

I get along great with the other gentle cats in my foster home as well as a service dog who drops by occasionally. I’m accustomed to the calm and quiet of my foster home, so I’d probably do best in a home without chaos and without kids.

My sisters Mothra and Woobee were found with me as orphan kittens during Tropical Storm Imelda. My foster mom heard my crying on a driveway, and she says that I’ve continued to let everyone know my opinions ever since. I was the runt of my litter and was bottle-fed by my foster family. Boy did I love my bottle!

Those “nursing” sessions ended up being a great time to bond with my humans and probably explain why I’m so sociable with people. The bottle has now been replaced with cat treats, which have probably contributed to my “plus-size.”

Hey there, everyone! I’m Gracie Mae, a sweet, friendly, and cuddly “tuxedo torbie,” a.k.a. grey tabby with peach-tabby patches and white-tuxedo markings. Don’t you love my “Liz Taylor” beauty marks on either side of my nose? I love to be in Foster Meowmy’s lap or snuggled next to her, and I either roll over to ask for a belly rub or make biscuits to express my delight at being close to her.

I showed up as a friendly stray in the neglected community-cat colony at Foster Meowmy’s apartment complex. Like a little furry bodyguard, I followed residents around the courtyard and greeted them upon arrival by escorting them from their car to their front door. I was obviously someone’s misplaced or abandoned pet because I would lie in the lap of anyone who sat on their porch.

I was begging someone to take me inside and saying, “Please be my hooman!” I got no one’s attention until, barely more than a kitten myself, I started showing that I was pregnant. Thankfully Foster Meowmy brought me inside, and at eight months old, I delivered my litter of five in her bathtub. 

How relieved I was to be off the streets and to live the good life indoors again. Although I get along great with the large resident dogs, I’ve remained in the “protect-my-newborns-from-predators” mode and can be aggressive with the resident cats. I’ve been a wonderful momma to my five little “beans,” and now that they’re weaned, I’ve permanently retired from being a doting momma. I've re-discovered how to be a playful teenage kitty, and I adore being "footloose and fancy-free" by kicking any toys that crinkle.

Now I'm ready to find a loving home of my very own, so I'm wondering if that could that be with you? Foster Meowmy rescued me from hanging around a dumpster in New Caney. An orphan with no momma or siblings in sight, I was only one month old and living the hardscrabble life at a much-too-young age. Once I arrived to my foster home, I was welcomed by the other cats and little dogs, who have served as my surrogate aunts and uncles and taught me everything my momma would’ve taught me if she’d been around. It wasn’t long before a new foster kitten arrived. Mason is a month younger than I am and has become my “bestie” playmate and surrogate sister. So now I have a whole surrogate family as well as a loving Foster Meowmy!

Although I like it here, I know I need a home of my very own where I’ll have fewer kitties to compete with my hooman’s attention. So now I’m all ready to “graduate” to my forever home. Hello there! I'm Harry, and just like Prince Harry, I have the "ginger gene," which is responsible for my flaming red hair. I'm a winsome, entertaining tabby fella who’s easy to pick up and cuddle. I love to snuggle with Foster Meowmy as well as greet her with a "kitty handshake," i.e. touch my nose to her hand.  I also cleverly learned to give high-fives with my paw. I’m quite a chatty chap because I chirp and meow to my family when I'm feeling comfy and happy.

I can’t resist playtime whether it’s with kids, other kitties, or myself. I'm full of energy, and interactive play with my foster family is my favorite calorie-burner. I’ll chase strings all day long if someone will play with me! I love all sorts of toys, especially little stuffed animals and balls that I can bat around and chase. After I‘ve played soccer with them, I’ll carry the soft, fuzzy ones around in my mouth. When I’ve had a surfeit in the exercise department, I'll jump on and climb the cat tree to catch my breath or perhaps a quick cat nap.

I'm one of the #crazy-8-gang who was born to a feral momma in Foster Meowmy's neighborhood. Thankfully she scooped us all up to bring us inside. I love to play with my many siblings! We tumble and pounce, climb and wrestle, and when we're exhausted, we collapse in a kitten puddle for a nap.

Howdy everyone! I’m Indy, a handsome, easy-going black DSH/Bombay mix dude with a sleek, shiny patent-leather coat and big, copper-penny eyes. It took me a while to learn that being petted, chin scratches, and lap time with my foster dad might just be a good thing. My mom Luna led the way, so I started curling up on my foster dad’s warm chest for a quick power nap and discovered that it was pretty delightful.

My favorite pastimes include following my foster dad into the bathroom (Bombay mixes can be very dog-like), looking handsome, and watching the world go by as I bask in a patch of sunshine on a windowsill. My favorite likes are dry food, toys with tassels, and warm beds.

I’m so glad that I came to my HOPE foster home because black cats are five times more likely to be euthanized at a shelter. Looking for a sweet, affectionate kitty who will make you feel cherished by her gentle purrs and head nudges? Then I’m the perfect gal for you! Mew! Mew, everyone! I’m Jenna, a loyal and loving black DSH/Bombay gal who’s a real cuddle expert. At bedtime, I curl up next to Foster Meowmy to share her warmth and comfort throughout the night.

Although I’m initially timid when I meet someone, once they warm up to me and I get to know them, I luxuriate in being stroked down my back as well as scratched on my chin, cheeks, and ears. I’m more of a lap cat than a fan of being picked up and carried around. My eyes light up with excitement at the sight and smell of snacks because I’m always up for a tasty treat. One of my favorite pastimes is watching the birds outside the window because I’m captivated by their graceful flights and playful chirps.

My street-stray momma ran inside future Foster Meowmy’s home and immediately birthed my litter of four under her bed. Foster Meowmy turned to HOPE to help get us vetted as well as adopted, and, sure enough, I was adopted as the Pet of the Week at the PetSmart Pearland.

Unfortunately, I was found in a trap several years later. I can’t explain to Foster Meowmy exactly what happened, but she thinks either I was dumped outdoors, or else I dashed out the door and couldn’t find my way back home. As a previously indoor kitty, I wasn’t used to foraging for prey, so the yummy food attracted me inside the trap. Of course, the was traced back to HOPE through my trusty microchip, thank heavens.

When Meowmy took me to the vet to get updated vaccines, I tested positive for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus). Who knows how long I’d been outside, but probably I contracted FIV from a deep bite wound from an intact male cat. (Unlike Feline Leukemia, FIV is NOT passed on "casually" by sharing food bowls and litter boxes with other household cats.) Being FIV positive means that I should live an average life span as long as my dental health is routinely monitored and prompt attention is given to any urinary-tract or upper-respiratory infections.

Despite my loving nature, I’ve admittedly had some real setbacks in my life. However, my spirit has never been dampened! I certainly deserve a caring and understanding family the second time around. With my endearing personality and undying devotion, I promise to be a constant source of joy and love in my next family’s life.

Hey there, everyone! I’m Kiwi, a sweet, gentle brown tabby gal who runs up to greet Foster Meowmy when she enters my foster room because I want her to pick me up and cuddle me. When Foster Meowmy sits down, I snuggle up to her thigh or plop up on her lap. That’s when I turn on my loud purr motor or lick her hand when she pets me and scratches my cheeks, chin, and ears.

I’m a smart kid who comes when Foster Meowmy calls my name. I’m one of the few kitties who likes it when she carries or holds me. I’m so relaxed that I melt and mold into her arms like a rag doll – or actually a slippery, limp noodle. I love it when we cuddle under the blankets.

Foster Meowmy and I make great playmates! Sometimes I toy with her long hair or very gently bunny-kick when I wrestle with her hand, but it’s to show my delight at her gentle touch. We have a lot of fun playing interactively as I frantically chase strings and the feather wand toy when she waves it around me. To wrap up our play sessions, I may purr like a perking coffeepot when I slurp the Churu squeezable treats off her finger.

You see, I’m a solo kitten with no birth momma or littermates in my foster home -- and not because I’m an orphan. I was living in a backyard in Foster Meowmy’s neighborhood with a colony of community cats. I was the only kitten in my litter who was friendly, brave, and curious enough to approach hoomans. Because Foster Meowmy could offer me a much better life as a pampered indoor pet, she scooped me up and brought me home to prepare me for adoption.

I get along great with the momma cat and her five kittens who share the foster room with me, and they have replaced my birth family who's still living outdoors. When I’m exhausted from tumbling and pouncing with the kits, I enjoy sleeping in the cat tree and gazing out the window at the wildlife that scampers, crawls, and flies by.

Hey there, everyone! I’m Lipstick, a beautiful, sweet, and cherub-faced brown tabby gal who was born with my left back leg’s not developing past my elbow. No worries! I don’t let being a tripod stop me one bit! I scamper around like any normal kitten.

I’m a little on the timid side, so you might think I was aloof when you first meet me; however, once I get to know you, I’m an absolute cuddle bug. I adapt to new hoomans and situations smoothly but definitely at my own pace.

I inherited my sweet demeanor from my feline momma Bonita, who was found in Alief as a pregnant teenager. Fortunately she was rescued in time to deliver my litter of three in the safety of foster care. I’ve been handled by Foster Meowmy since I was one day old, which explains why I’m so trusting of hoomans. My favorite thing to do is play the coquette by looking dainty and adorable as I lounge in the comfiest chair in the room and observe everything happening around me.

Hello everyone! I’m Little Bobbie, and I’m an adorable, petite dilute gray tabby kitten with white mittens and locket. Don’t you love my sweet, angelic face?

I was a two-week-old orphan, covered in leaves and sticks, when I was rescued from a field. Neighbors had witnessed dogs chasing away my mother; alas, she never re-appeared. Several cat lovers took me inside and bottle-fed me along with several other bottle-babies, Butch, Sundance, and Violet, who are my same age.

I have so much fun playing with my surrogate siblings. We tumble and pounce, climb and wrestle with each other, and when we’re exhausted from all the fun, we collapse in a kitten puddle. I’d love to be adopted with my fostermate Tango. That way we can play all day while you work or go on vacation.

Mew! Mew, everyone! I’m Lollis, a delightful torbie gal who has quite a heartwarming rescue story. (“Torbie” means that I’m a brown tabby with patches of peach that makes me look like I was splashed with caramel in a candy factory.) I was a stray orphan kitten fending for myself when future foster meowmy spotted me at her jobsite. It didn’t take me long to decide that she was meant to be my savior. I ran to her, and she scooped me up. I cuddled in her lap to make the unforgettable journey to my foster home, and we’ve been bonded ever since.

Once in my foster home, I was overjoyed to kiss the hardscrabble life good-bye! Boy howdy! Brimming food and water bowls, climate control, and safety from predators all spelled security and happiness to me. I get along great with the other cats and resident dogs. I have a playful and independent spirit, which makes me a perfect companion for kids. Although I usually maintain my freedom, there are those rare, cherished moments when I need a little snuggle and will seek cuddles from my hoomans.

Hey there, everyone! I’m Lucy, a sweet, cuddly, easygoing calico/tortoiseshell with white gal with a big fluff of a tail. My thick, luxurious fur is soft and plush like a bunny's. I love to climb up in Foster Meowmy’s lap for her to scratch my cheeks, chin, and ears. Sometimes I nap, and sometimes we binge on Netflix or Animal Planet. I’m a real sucker for canned food and yummy treats.

Here’s my rescue story: While passing a dilapidated apartment complex, a Good Samaritan discovered an injured male cat whose leg was in bad shape. She took him to the vet, where his leg was amputated and he was neutered. When she returned to the apartment complex to release him, she discovered a friendly pregnant calico. You guessed it – yours truly. She put two and two together and figured out that the male’s injuries hadn’t stopped him from being a lothario. My future foster Meowmy scooped up me and brought me home, and Leon, Sunny, Mia, and Leah were born in foster care.

Hey there, everyone! I’m Luffy, a sweet, friendly, affectionate, and adoring brown tabby fella with white tuxedo markings who thoroughly enjoys the company of my entire foster family, including the preschool kids. Since my gentle, calm temperament tolerates the kids' man-handling me, I got my name because the preschoolers say, "This kitty 'luffs' us." I have fun playing interactively with all my hoomans, and I’m a curious guy who likes exploring.

My foster meowmy surmises that I was someone’s pet who was allowed to go outside, and the inevitable happened when I was hit by a car. My future foster meowmy fortunately was the Good Samaritan who didn’t pass me by but rescued me and took me to her vet. I’m a brave fighter who narrowly escaped my leg's amputation through sheer determination, and I’m happy to report that my leg has healed beautifully.

Although my foster family cherishes me, I can’t permanently stay inside because of Foster Meowmy’s allergies. Plus, although I’m fantastic with the kids, I’m not keen on the other resident pets. So here I am looking for my new forever home.

Hey there, everyone! I’m Marley, a beautiful, docile, playful dilute tortie gal with mesmerizing big, gold eyes. I’ve got plenty of “tortitude,” which just means that I’m like hooman little girls: “sugar 'n spice and everything nice.” I can be very sweet when I want to be, and other times I can be feisty and independent. (What woman isn’t?)

For example, I’m very friendly with dogs as well as hoomans, but I do not like other cats. Fortunately, Foster Meowmy knows how to handle my ‘tude by providing plenty of indoor enrichment – like the feather wand toy, catnip kicker toys, and food puzzles.

Foster Meowmy understands that I’ve had a challenging life that no dainty lady with a gorgeous pastel fur coat should have had to endure. The only positive thing that my first owners did was spay me. I guess they thought that spaying me gave them license to expose me to the dangers of outdoor life. Consequently, I survived being shot in my neck with a BB gun. Yikes! Lastly, my owners just abandoned me!

Fortunately, Foster Meowmy became my advocate and stepped up to the plate to foster me until HOPE could find me a much better forever home. In her words, “Marley just needs a safe place to truly blossom.” Amen! And I’m thriving in my foster home. What girl doesn’t love indoor amenities like climate control, spa days, and plenty of entertainment?

Hey there, everyone! I’m Mason, a sweet, outgoing, and playful tortie gal who loves everyone – hoomans of all ages, dogs (at least the small ones whom I’ve met), and other kitties. My foster meowmy named me Mason because that very road was the venue for my hair-raising rescue.

You see, when I was a month old, I knew just the car to scurry underneath when it was stopped for a light at a busy intersection on Mason Road – the car of a seasoned HOPE cat-rescuer. When she realized that I was under her car, she refused to move and consequently blocked traffic. Fortunately patrolling deputies came to investigate the traffic jam, protected Foster Meowmy's car from passing traffic, and eventually got me safely into her hands. Talk about Claw and Order!! Boy howdy, I was immobilized with fear there for a while but breathed a sigh of relief when I realized that I was out of danger. The well-meaning employees at the near-by CVS even provided cat food and a transport box to get me home.

Once I arrived at my foster home, I met the little dogs, other cats, and Han, another foster kitten. He's a month older than I am and has become my “bestie” playmate and  surrogate brother. The older kitties have become my surrogate aunts and uncles, and they've taught me everything my momma would've if she'd been around.

Hey there, everyone! I’m Meatball, a sweet, friendly, affectionate Bombay mix fella who loves to snuggle with Foster Meowmy. That’s when I turn on my purr motor, which sounds like a perking coffeepot. I’m an ace at climbing the cat trees as well as swatting at the wand toys that Foster Meowmy waves over my head.

During a bad rainstorm, a Good Samaritan found me as an orphan kitten with no momma or siblings in sight. She reached out to a friend who’s a HOPE volunteer to find me my forever home, and I’m so grateful that Foster Meowmy agreed to foster me. I’m very people-oriented and lovey-dovey with hoomans because I’ve realized that I was rescued out of the hardscrabble life. I never want to live paw-to-mouth ever again!

I get along great with the older cats in my foster home because they have become my surrogate aunts and uncles who teach me everything Momma would’ve taught me if she’d been around. I have a ball playing tag in the tunnel with my foster mates, Tater Tot and Matcha, who are close enough in age to me to become my surrogate siblings.

I was pretty skittish when I first arrived, but my foster family has nurtured my trust by offering me Temptation treats from their hands. I’m progressing on the socialization curve and turn on my purr motor when I’m petted. Frankly, I’m very interested in being with people as well as the resident dogs and other cats.

Hey there, everyone! I’m Merle Haggard, and I’m a sweet, handsome brown tabby boy who got my name because my first owner never neutered me, and like Merle Haggard, I got Ramblin’ Fever. One day I appeared in Foster Meowmy’s apartment complex as a friendly stray who wanted everyone to pet me. Every day a little 10-year-old girl would sit on the sidewalk and play with me, but no one claimed me as theirs.

Suddenly it hit me that, just like Ramblin’ Fever’s lyrics say, “I’d like to bed down on a sofa and let some pretty lady rub my back.” So I howled at future Foster Meowmy’s door and asked to come inside with her other kitties. Thankfully, she obliged, and after all that time without sufficient hooman attention, I luxuriated when she picked me up and held me. Now I enjoy sleeping with her every night, and I’m very docile when she clips my claws.

I’ve had my challenges with my introductions to her three cats. I’m not aggressive, and with the female, I lie on my back with my paws folded; with the male kitty who’s a scaredy cat and keeps his distance, I tried playfully to chase him without much cooperation; however, with one male cat who’s territorial, fur can fly when we meet. This may just be because my testosterone level has not fully dissipated after my neutering as a mature kitty. As time passes, we could get along better and hopefully someday play together. I know for sure that I love children and would be a perfect bedmate for kids, and I’d probably get along great with easy-going, cat-friendly dogs.

Hey there, everyone! I’m Mikey, a sweet, friendly, curious, playful, and entertaining “bicolor,” which means that I'm mostly white with grey tabby on my head, back, and tail. I got my name from a 1972 Quaker Oaks “Mikey Likes It” commercial of a toddler who would “eat anything.” That’s me, and I’m not ashamed at all! There are cats starving in China, so no food should be tossed out!

You see, my family moved out of their apartment and left me behind to fend for myself outside. I’m a happy-go-lucky kind of guy, so I made the best of my situation. I enjoyed climbing trees, chasing squirrels, and following folks when they walked their dogs. I assumed that an open apartment door was an invitation for me to mosey on in, and everyone adored me. Only problem was, nobody wanted to adopt a stray cat, which is what I really wanted. So “I ate anything” until my future foster meowmy decided that she wanted to foster me until she could find me my forever home with a family who’d never abandon me again.

Here I am in my foster home, happy as a lark with the other kitties. I love to cuddle beside Foster Meowmy as we binge on Netflix and Animal Planet, and when she heads for bed, I curl up at her feet. And boy howdy! I love to entertain my hoomans when we interactively play with feather wand-toys and laser pointers as well as when I play soccer with my crinkle balls and catnip mice. If you like the “high” you get from a Sunday-brunch mimosa, I’m the kitty for you! Mew! Mew, everyone! I’m Mimosa, and I got my name because I’m such a sweet, amazing, friendly, and affectionate “feel-good” Classic-tabby bicolor kitten. "Classic tabby" means that I have marble swirls on my sides instead of the usual mackerel stripes. "Bicolor" means that I’m mostly white with brown tabby on my head, back, and tail. I also was named Mimosa because I'm as pretty as the tree's cotton-candy-like blooms. I'm really a stunning sight for sore eyes, if I do say so myself!

I love attention, and I’m one of the few kitties who actually likes to be picked up by Foster Meowmy. At bedtime, I love scampering under the covers and then settling down to snuggle next to Foster Meowmy for the rest of the night.

I was crying for food when Foster Meowmy opened her front door one morning. She has a reputation for being a tenderhearted “cat lady,” so most likely I was dumped by a neighbor who had found me. Of course she brought me inside, where I fit in seamlessly with her other cats and small dogs.

The adult cats have ended up being my surrogate mommas who’ve taught me everything that my momma would’ve taught me if she were here. I also enjoy tumbling and pouncing, climbing and wrestling with the older foster kittens. I’m very nimble at scurrying after the red-laser dot when Foster Meowmy bounces it around the room.

Meow! Meow, everyone! I’m very, very sweet, friendly, and curious Missy Longstocking, a sleek, elegant harlequin gal with big jade-globe eyes and who’s mostly white with large patches of dark gray. Foster Meowmy named me “Longstocking” because I’m tall with graceful legs that look to be wearing gray stockings. Meowmy is amazed that I don’t have one ounce of “catitiude,” and I heard her exclaiming that I’m the most docile cat she’s ever met.

Although I’m not a big fan of being picked up, I happily curl up in Foster Meowmy’s lap and turn on my purr motor, which sounds like a perking coffeepot. We then enjoy prime-time together as she gently brushes me or offers me squeezable treats. But I’m no couch potato! No siree! I adore interactive play as Foster Meowmy waves the fishing-wand toy over my head because I can show off my acrobatic prowess as I lunge and pounce on my “prey.”

I have quite a dangerous backstory. A Good Samaritan was driving down Beltway 8 when she spotted me, partially inside a bag, as I huddled in the median. Thank heavens that she’s not scared of much, so she pulled over and quickly grabbed me as cars whizzed by. When we got home, she saw that I was a little bruised, nicked, and scraped as well as very traumatized but overall healthy and uninjured.

I tolerate the other cats in my foster home, but I definitely don’t love them. I haven’t been around kids, but I was fine around a small, polite dog. Since I’m friendly and well-adjusted, I might be very compatible with well-behaved children and cat-friendly dogs.

Hey there, everyone! I’m Mittens, a sweet, gentle, very submissive dilute-calico gal who’s friendly and sociable with hoomans of all ages. I'm a "bicolor," which means that I'm mostly white with blue and cream patches on my head, back, and tail. I’m what’s called a “polydactyl” because I have more toes on my front paws than most kitties. I’m very petite, and although I’m full grown, I’m the size of a seven-month old kitten.

My future foster meowmy was on a TNR mission when she found me, friendly but pregnant and living paw-to-mouth in a feral-cat colony at a very low-income immigrant apartment complex in southwest Houston. Thank heavens Foster Meowmy scooped me up and brought me home with her to foster me. I’m adjusting well to my safe, secure indoor life with brimming food and water bowls, climate control, and toys to play with.

However, trying to survive at that feeding station had been a very bad experience because I’d had to fight for food amongst the intact toms. So I’m understandably fearful of other cats and need to be an only-cat child in my forever home. Hey there, everyone! I’m Moji, a sweet yet very playful pastel brown tabby gal with big round eyes set in my angelic face. My name is short for Emoji because I have very distinctive Happy Faces on both of my wrists. I clearly favor my Foster Daddy, and I absolutely love it when he scratches my ears, cheeks, and chin. Even though I’m the smallest of my litter and low to the ground, boy howdy, can I jump high when Foster Daddy waves the feather wand toy over my head!  

The offspring of a feral momma, my litter of five was rescued from the mean streets of Houston by some Good Samaritans. I adore my foster home with all the indoor amenities like brimming food and water bowls, safety from predators, and climate control. The resident cats are fun to play with, and the big gentle Golden Retriever is a good nanny.

Us: Hello Moon Pie. What a cute name. Was there a reason you were named that?

MP: No, not especially. Think my finder Googled exceptionally unusual and cute cat names.

Us: Alright, so you mentioned someone found you. Can you tell us more?

MP: I was born to a stray cat who got kicked out of her home due to a teenage pregnancy. Me and my 2 sisters lived on the streets and had to fight to survive. That's why I tend to hiss at strange things before knowing if they are friend or foe.

Us: Where do you see yourself in a year from now?

MP: I hope I'm in a home surrounded by love with a bottomless bowl of food and lots of cuddles. I do actually purr when I'm picked up. I really am a nice kitty, just scared of the unknown.

Well hello everyone! I’m Mothra, a smart, gregarious, curious brown tabby "princess" with white tuxedo markings. I was named after a giant flying moth that was a popular "heroic" monster in horror films. I absolutely LOVE people and the cuddles that we share. I’m a “talker” who chirps and trills for everyone when I greet them, and then I plop down to receive a good belly rub.

I get along great with the other gentle cats in my foster home as well as a service dog who drops by occasionally. I’m accustomed to the calm and quiet of my foster home, so I’d probably do best in a home without chaos and without kids.

My siblings Godzilla and Woobee were found with me as orphan kittens during Tropical Storm Imelda. Although I'm available separately, it would be the cat’s meow if I could be adopted with one of my siblings so we could keep each other company while you’re at work or on vacation.

Hey there, everyone! I’m Naan, and I’m a sweet, playful, energetic Russian Blue mix who’s the only gal of the #bread-batch-five. Our momma birthed us on Foster Meowmy’s backyard patio because she knew we’d be safe. Thank heavens Foster Meowmy brought Momma as well as Baguette, Croissant, Panini, Pita, and me inside to join the resident cats and small dog.

We all love to tumble and pounce, climb and wrestle with each other. I guess I had to become a tomboy to survive being the only girl with four brothers, and I run around and chase with the best of them. Since we’ve been handled since we were wee tykes, we’re all lap kittens who like to cuddle on Foster Meowmy’s lap -- either individually or in one big kitten puddle -- when we’re exhausted from our play sessions. While I’m on her lap, I like to bat at her long hair, which, I guess, is a girly thing.

I chase the feather wand toy, climb to the top of the scratching post, and play on the cat tree. When Foster Meowmy distributes Churu treats, I make sure that I get my share by using my paw to try to grab it.

Hey there, everyone! I’m Noodles, a super-sweet, friendly, and easygoing big red tabby fella with white tuxedo markings. My favorite pastime is purring and kneading biscuits on Foster Daddy’s thigh when he scratches my chin and chest. I love people and am one of those rare cats who doesn’t mind being picked up and held. I’m not clingy, but no matter what Foster Daddy is doing – sleeping, binging on Netflix, working at his desk -- I like to stay in the same room where is.

We have fun playing hide-and-seek together. I like to conceal myself in a corner and then jump out to ambush him when he walks by. Then he’s supposed to chase me around the house. I also love it when he dangles ribbons and ropes for me to chase or points the red laser dot for me to scramble after.

I’m extremely smart and understand when Foster Daddy tells me not to do something. For example, when I started to scratch the sofa, I picked it up immediately that I was supposed to redirect my behavior to the scratching post. 

When my former owners abandoned me, I survived the mean streets of Houston for a few months by going to houses where I saw cats at the windows. Then I’d meow on their patios and even try to play with the indoor kitties through the sliding-glass door. Because I was so persistent and cute, my future foster daddy decided to bring me in.

In this crazy Houston weather, boy howdy, am I ever glad to be indoors forever and to kiss the hardscrabble outdoor life good-bye! I also appreciate the brimming food and water bowls, soft beds to sleep, and most of all, available hoomans to shower me with love and attention. Although I haven’t been around dogs or little kids, I get along great with other cats.

I like it here in my foster home, but I know what’s best for me is to have a forever home of my own the second time around. Arrange to meet me today! Hey there, everyone! I’m Nyx, and I’m a sweet and sassy tuxedo gal with a generously large white vest, tummy, and mittens. I was named after the Greek goddess of the night, who drives through the sky in a chariot pulled by horses. I look like my twin sister Aurora except I’m the one with the adorable milk moustache in the shape of a big, wide grin. Foster Meowmy thinks it makes me the cutest-looking baby ever!

I enjoy cuddling with Foster Meowmy but not for long because playtime is all the time for me. I enjoy playing soccer with the cat toys, batting at wand toys waved by the resident teenagers, but most of all tumbling and pouncing, wrestling and climbing with Aurora or the other foster kittens. I’m still figuring out how I feel about the two large, cat-friendly resident dogs, but at least they leave me alone while I’m deciding.

Foster Meowmy brought my neighborhood stray momma inside her garage during the January freeze. Since Momma was eating two cans of food a day, Meowmy realized that she was probably pregnant. Sure enough -- Aurora and I were born in foster care.

These well-behaved kittens do have a lot of energy, but are generally very gentle and non-destructive. Oreo, the female, is more affectionate than her brother, Hershey, since he has a one-track mind when he starts playing with his toys. We believe Hershey may be somewhat special-needs as he was developmentally slower than his sister. Both know how to use the litterbox though and will delight you with their charming ways.

Meow! Meow, everyone! My name is Otto, and I’m a sweet though shy brown tabby fella with white tuxedo markings. Don’t you love my white locket and four white mittens? I’m very sweet with my foster meowmy as well as the other cats in my foster home. I love and trust my foster meowmy when she pets and holds me. I even allow her to clip my claws.

When I was about a month old, my foster meowmy found my three siblings and me in an old abandoned car. After she got us all vetted and vaccinated, I was supposed to be adopted with my sister Zelda. When I arrived at my new home, I was my typical shy self because I was scared, so I found a hidey hole. Unfortunately the family didn’t give me the chance to settle in and warm up to my new surroundings, so I immediately went back to my foster meowmy.

I’m looking for forever adopters who will be patient with me as I warm up and feel comfy in my new “digs.” Ideally they will want to adopt me with one of my foster playmates like Squeeken whom I know well. Nothing like the moral support of a buddy to build my confidence in new situations!

Hey there, everyone! I’m Parker, a sweet, easygoing tuxedo gal with pretty green eyes and high go-go boots who chirps to let Foster Meowmy know how contented I am. Although I’m not one to jump into her lap, once she puts me there, I luxuriate and purr blissfully until I fall asleep.

I was a homeless stray until I found the perfect home to bring my kittens. Foster Meowmy thought I was feral until I refused to leave her house! It turns out that I love the indoor life. Now that my kittens are weaned, I’m permanently retired from being a doting momma.

I truly enjoy relaxing in any comfy spot that I can find around the house, and I’m happy to share your favorite chair with you. I’m independent enough that I don’t demand too much attention, but I thrive anytime I get it. You see, I share my foster home with four resident cats, and although I get along okay with them, I’d love a forever home where there’s more space for me to relax and less competition for Foster Meowmy’s attention. One kitty would be perfect, but four is just too many for my taste.

I inherited my sweet demeanor from my feline momma Bonita, who was found in Alief as a pregnant teenager. Fortunately she was rescued in time to deliver my litter of three in the safety of foster care. I’ve been handled by Foster Meowmy since I was one day old, which explains why I’m so very sociable and trusting with every hooman I meet. I’m so easy-going that even nail clipping is a breeze with me.

Now I’m ready to find my forever home. I love to climb and explore, so my forever home needs to be a place where I have the freedom to adventure and romp around. Mew! Mew, everyone! I’m Peppa, a sweet, loving, easy-going tuxedo gal who has an adorable black button nose. Foster Meowmy testifies that I am a wonderful lap kitty and bed buddy. When I want Meowmy to pick me up, I gently tap my paw on her leg as if to say, “Here I am! Take me into your arms and love me.”

Foster Meowmy found me as a 6-week-old orphan on the premises of a security company in northwest Houston and brought me home. I get along great with the other resident kitties as well as the cat-friendly dogs here. I’m a playful gal who loves to chase the red laser dot that Foster Meowmy bounces around the room.

However, scurrying after the frisky red dot has not always been a piece of cake for me. Out of the clear blue sky, I was challenged with mobility issues starting about a week after my spay surgery. Foster Meowmy was horrified to see me suddenly not be able to support the weight in my back legs, although that didn’t stop me from "walking on my elbows" the best I could, which was nevertheless at quite a fast clip. “My goodness,” heartbroken Foster Meowmy thought, “Peppa is just a 5-month-old kitten!”

For three months, Foster Meowmy did her due diligence and took me to several vets, but it wasn’t until she finally took me to a pain-management vet specialist in The Woodlands that she found someone who could treat me successfully and non-surgically. He diagnosed inflammation in both of my rear elbow joints from either a congenital or traumatic injury.

God bless him because he relieved my pain and inflammation with cortisone and joint lubricant injections in both my back legs and started me on a regimen of monthly Adequan injections. It wasn’t long before – voila - I was playing and running around as if nothing had ever been wrong! What a miracle, thanks to HOPE’s Emergency Medical fund, collected from sales of the annual HOPE cat calendar!

The good news is that with long-term arthritic management, I should be able to live a basically normal life. My only ongoing treatment is for Foster Meowmy to give me monthly Adequan injections. So, although I’m considered a “special-needs” kitty, my chronic mobility problems have responded splendidly to injections and are easily controlled. Aren’t you happy that I need no daily PILLS???

I hope that my technically being a special-needs kitty has not quashed your interest in having me plop myself in your lap or snuggle next to you in bed. I’d do fine as either a solo kitty or companion to your resident dog or cat. Also consider adopting me with one of my feline playmates with whom I’m already bonded. Two is better than one, and we can keep each other company while you’re at work or on vacation.

Hey there, everyone! I’m Spark, an outgoing, friendly, and affectionate black and white tuxedo kitten who got my name because I’m a bundle of kitten high-energy. I thoroughly enjoy when Foster Meowmy picks me up to snuggle with me, and that’s when I turn on my purr machine, which sounds like an outboard motor. I enjoy belly rubs so much that I’ll roll over to invite them from Foster Meowmy.

Of course a kid named Spark would be very frisky and love to play soccer with balls and catnip mice, but I really get into playing interactively with Foster Meowmy when she waves the wand toy over my head. I entertain myself by jumping in and out of empty cardboard boxes, which I usually destroy in the process. Surprisingly I submit to nail trims, even though most cats run the other direction.

My love of wet food and treats is the key to my being a kitten who has his whole pampered life as an indoor kitty ahead of him. You see, future Foster Meowmy was trapping adult community cats to neuter and release when I smelled TUNA! At three months old, I was so hungry and so eager to be the first kitty to get closer to that wonderful fishy aroma that I ran right into the trap before she could even set it.

Assuming that I was feral, she didn’t even attempt to get to know my personality very well. She left me in the trap and dropped me off at the vet, who ear-tipped me when he neutered me. When she brought me home for my recovery from surgery, she discovered to her surprise that I was a friendly purr-monster who enjoyed being petted. Well, all I can say is purring and petting ended up being my tickets to permanently staying indoors and kissing the hardscrabble life of a community cat good-bye. My ear tip will always be my badge of courage and a gentle reminder of my love of yummy tuna.

Hey there everyone! I’m Squeeken, and I’m a sweet, beautiful tuxedo gal with tall white boots like a go-go dancer and a large white vest and black face like a penguin. I’m really quite uniquely marked. Foster Meowmy found me as a friendly adult stray kitty in her neighborhood and was sweet enough to rescue me and bring me home to foster.

I didn’t pay much attention to the other foster kitties here until a 10-week-old tuxedo kitten showed up on Foster Meowmy’s front porch. When she brought this little girl inside, I claimed Lil’ Orphan Abby as my baby because she needed my mothering. So now Abigail and I play together, and I groom and teach this little tyke all the manners that her momma would’ve taught her if she’d been around.

Although we’re available separately, Abigail and I think it’d be the cat’s meow if we were adopted together. Two is more fun than one, especially when we look like a tuxedo mother/daughter duo. My kitten Melanie and I were rescued from Foster Meowmy’s driveway when I was about one year old. I was pretty skittish when I first arrived, but my foster family has nurtured my trust because I’m very food motivated. I’m progressing on the socialization curve and becoming more and more affectionate because I love to be petted. Frankly, I’m very interested in being with people as well as the resident dogs.

I’m a mellow gal who loves to relax. My favorite place is hanging out in the family rocking chair. Since I was a stray who was living paw-to-mouth, I’d never had toys to play with. Then you'll understand why Foster Meowmy gave me such an unusual moniker – I’m a sleek, strong, and handsome mini-black panther who looks to be a Bombay mix fella with my shiny patent-leather coat and big globe eyes.

I’m a sweet boy who loves the Eskimo kisses Foster Meowmy showers on me when she picks me up. Although I’m not a lap cat per se, I am a Velcro cat who likes to stick close to her. I prefer to position myself right next to her when she’s lying in bed or sitting on the sofa, and I'll follow her into the bathroom if she allows me.

I’m a smart fella who, like many Bombays, is very dog-like. I've learned to "sit" as well as to give “high fives.” Plus I’m a playful athlete who loves to play fetch. I scamper off to grab whatever toy Foster Meowmy tosses for me and even sometimes bring it back!

I showed up as a stray at Foster Meowmy’s house, and when her family showed me some love and attention, I decided to hang out permanently – rain or shine -- on their front porch. So they decided that I was someone’s misplaced pet who needed to be brought inside. I adjusted easily to the indoor life and play very well with the six resident cats. Foster Meowmy is amazed that when they surround me, I’m not aggressive at all, even when the grumpy ones try to provoke me. Yes, I always act like the African prince that I am!

I was found as an orphan in the street next to a pile of debris in the Lindale area. I fit right into my foster home where there were several other rescued kittens who were my same age, although we‘re not related.

Hey there, everyone! I’m Tater Tot, and a sweet, handsome, playful bicolor fella. "Bicolor" means that I’m mostly white with gray tabby on my head, back, and tail. I adore running through cat tunnels as well as swatting at the wand toys that Foster Meowmy waves over my head.

When I was about seven weeks old, I followed my feral momma down a driveway to my future foster meowmy’s community-cat feeding station because we were both hungry. While Momma got TNR’d, I was scooped up and brought inside since I was young enough to be socialized to hoomans. Boy howdy! I’m glad that I don’t have to live paw-to-mouth anymore, and I really appreciate the brimming food and water bowls and indoor climate control.

I have a ball tumbling and pouncing, climbing and wrestling with my foster mates, Meatball and Matcha, who are close enough in age to me to be my surrogate siblings. I’m all boy and was jumping on them a few hours after my neuter surgery. I’m a little shy initially with hoomans, so it helps to have my foster mates to show me that hoomans can be trusted.

Tokyo is SO handsome and debonair! He will steal your heart with his sweet ways. This guy was found on the streets of Houston with his two siblings and has adjusted well to the life of an inside kitty.

Tokyo loves exploring and climbing tall cat trees. He gives confidence to his sister, Brooklyn, who is more  reserved. Tokyo purrs the minute you pick him up, and he enjoys the company of people. This guy is a real treasure.

Hey there, everyone! I'm Tom, a sweet, friendly, and affectionate green-eyed “bicolor” fella, which means that I’m mostly white with gray tabby on my face, back, and tail. I’m always ready to burst out purring as well as to cuddle with my foster meowmy. I’m loyal in that once I get to know you, I’m your friend for life. I’m gentle too for a boy in that I never misuse my claws when I’m playing. Sometimes I fancy myself to be Marco Polo as I like to explore all the nooks and crannies in my foster home.

Foster Meowmy rescued the #spunky-four (a.k.a.me and my three sisters Snow, Luna, and Kisa) as orphans in her neighborhood. We tumble and pounce, climb and wrestle, and when we’re exhausted, we collapse in a kitten puddle. I’m smart enough to know when it’s time to play and when it’s time to rest, and admittedly I’m a mellow kitten who’s always ready for a good nap!

If you think the actor Tom Sandoval looks like a hunk dressed in black, you should see me! Meow! Meow, everyone! I’m Tom Sandoval’s namesake, an affectionate, saucy, friendly black DSH/Bombay mix kitten with a sleek, shiny coat. I can be quite the snuggly Siesta King who loves to curl up in bed with either Foster Meowmy or my sister Maddox, with whom I'm very bonded. I soak up any attention that Foster Meowmy gives me, especially when she’s dispensing Temptation treats.

I’m a playful guy who loves to play soccer with toy mice as well as engage with iPad games. And of course I love to tumble and pounce, climb and wrestle with my three sisters, Maddox, Lala, and Katie. I can also entertain myself by scaling the cat tower and playing with its dangling toys.

When my Foster Meowmy was walking on her driveway one day, she spotted my feral momma and my litter of four under the house of her next door neighbor. She trapped, spayed, and released Momma but brought us kittens inside to socialize us. We fit in beautifully with her other pets, and now that we're ready to be adopted, she promises to find us all fantastic homes.

Hey there, everyone! I’m Truffle, and I was awarded my moniker because I’m as indulgently sweet and easy to enjoy as a chocolate truffle. I’m a calm, laid-back Bombay mix gal with bright copper-penny eyes and a sleek, shiny black-patent-leather coat. Nothing much bothers me – people, other cats, loud sounds, or even general chaos. Being such a “chill” lass makes me easy-care and definitely easy to love.

And believe me, I’ve got plenty of love to reciprocate during my quality time hanging out with my hoomans. My favorite spot is in Foster Meowmy’s lap while she’s giving me a deep massage, a.k.a. petting me. That’s when I let my purr motor roar and get busy making biscuits on her thigh to show my delight. True confessions: I’ve been known to get a little “lost in the moment” when I’ve rolled off her lap in my ecstasy.

If she’s sitting on the floor with me, I’ll luxuriate in her petting me by plopping down on her hand and rolling around, constantly purring. Or maybe I’ll give her the old elevator-butt to ask her for a little more. However, make no mistake, I’m no couch potato! I’m a fierce panther when Foster Meowmy waves the wand toys over my head. And I think she likes it that I welcome her at the door to greet her when she comes home after a hard day. It’s fine with me if she picks me up to give me a big hug and kiss.

I was a friendly stray, a teenage momma with a litter of kittens, who was living paw-to-mouth when I found my way to the community-cat feeding station of a kind family. I was looking for a safe refuge, and thankfully they took us in and got us all “fixed.” Now that I’m retired from being a doting momma, I’m ready to find my forever home. Hi, my name is Twinkie (maybe because I'm sweet but not overly sugary). I'm described as a cuddler and would make a great companion cat. Right now,  I live in a foster home with a black and white cat named Checkers, whom I tend to strong-arm into playing with me. After all, a girl has to let off steam once in a while. But I do it in the gentlest way possible.

I love playing with a ball in a maze and will amaze you with my skill. Sometimes, when Checkers wants to play too, I stick my whole arm in in order to block his moves. But he doesn't mind. He still manages to play around me.

Hey there, everyone! I’m Valentino, a sweet, easygoing, extra-large harlequin cat. “Harlequin” means that I’m mostly white with a few large orange-tabby patches on my head and back. I got my name because, like the famous 1920’s actor, “the Latin Lover” Rudy Valentino, I’m a real sex symbol for the ladies – both 2-legged and 4-legged.

I’ve taken quite a shine to my Foster Meowmy, and vice versa, because she shares her lap with me. I love it when she scratches my chin, cheeks, and ears, and we enjoy hanging out together. This could include binging on Animal Planet and Netflix or cuddling in her arms. I may be extra large, but that just means that I’ve got more for her to hug. Thanks to Foster Meowmy's discipline, I'm making progress as I've already trimmed down two pounds to weigh in at 17 1/2 pounds!

I guess you’re wondering why a handsome gentle giant like me needs a new home. Well, my former caretaker loaded me up in my carrier and abandoned me at the Arthur Storey Park off the Beltway 8. I guess the idea was that someone would feel sorry for me without food and water and take me in. Fortunately -- you guessed it -- a Good Samaritan rescued me and contacted HOPE. Thank heavens my foster meowmy stepped up to the plate, and now I’ve got all the food, water, and TLC imaginable.

Although I’m happy in my foster home and get along great with the resident kitties, I know what’s best for me is to have a forever home of my very own. Could that be with you? Have you ever seen a kitten whose body looks like a canvas that a graffiti artist has started splashing with tiny spots of black paint? Meow! Meow, everyone! I’m Zephyr, a sweet and playful fella who’s pure white except for my black toupee and just a few pale smudges of gray on my shoulders. I’m one of the #graffiti-boys who were all named after graffiti street-artists because our momma Clara birthed us on the mean streets of Houston. The good news is that I’m a little street urchin no longer. No siree! I’ve been babied, cuddled, and kissed ever since I was rescued and started living in my foster home, where I eat yummy culinary delights and sleep on soft down pillows! Yep, I’m truly a pauper-turned-prince!

My brothers, Banksy and Donti, and I are fascinated by everything in the bathroom. That’s because there’s all kinds of great things there -- toilet paper, paper towels, rugs, humans, toys, shampoo, water, and our favorite, the occasional roach. I can’t describe the fun of rolling ping pong balls and cat spring-toys – anything with curves – along the sides of the bathtub like it’s the perfect skateboard park.

And it’s fun to sit on the edge of the tub and play hide-and-seek behind the shower curtain. We’ve destroyed a few shower curtains by batting each other with our little claws, but Foster Meowmy thinks that’s a small price to pay for the hours of enjoyment we have playing peek-a-boo through the clear plastic.

I’m particularly bonded to Donti. We’re always up to some kind of kitten business – exploring, menacing each other, wrestling with each other. When we’re exhausted, we collapse in a kitten puddle with Banksy and may even nuzzle with our sweet momma Clara.

Hey there, everyone! I’m Zoe, a gentle, affectionate, easygoing, and friendly Russian Blue mix gal with big gold eyes. I’m sweet and playful, although I can be shy as it takes sensitive Russian Blue mixes longer than most cats to adjust to their new environment and new people. You see, I showed up as a friendly stray in my future foster meowmy’s yard, and after befriending me with yummy food, she eventually coaxed me inside. That’s when she realized that I was pregnant, and I delivered my litter of five kits a month later. Thank heavens my kits are now weaned, and I’m now permanently retired from being a doting momma.

I’m enjoying all the luxuries of indoor life – brimming food and water bowls as well as climate control and safety from predators. I pretend that I only tolerate Foster Meowmy’s hugs, kisses, and cuddles, but I actually appreciate her affection and attention after living paw-to-mouth for so long. I also enjoy playing soccer with catnip mice and pom-pom balls, and I’m so enthusiastic with my excellent scratching-post-manners that I make the cardboard scratcher into a toy! Scaling the cat tree for a bird’s-eye-view of activity below is my favorite pastime. You see, I can get a little hissy with the resident cats, and I like the psychic distance that the height of the cat tree affords.
