Abe

You are here:
Gentle, sweet kitten

My name is AbeI was put in a grocery bag and thrown into a ditch in an area where there are big dogs and scary speeding cars, but a nice lady saw what happened and came to my rescue. Despite all of the scary things that have happened to me already, I love people more than anything. My favorite spot is curled up in the arms of the small human or relaxing on a lap. I love to play with all kinds of toys, and I like chasing the big cats’ tails. I’m fearful of dogs and loud sounds. I know how to use the litter box. If you’re looking for a snuggle buddy with a loud motor, I’m your guy!

What more could you ask for? Well, how about: she's BILINGUAL! Yep, she's the complete package. Come meet her this weekend at HOPE's mobile cat adoptions, she would be a great cat addition to any lucky feline loving home.

Baby Bear

You are here:

Hi! I am Baby-Bear. My brother Starbuck and I were born March 7, 2017 and are the cutenesses of West U. But we're not looking to rob any honey bees or chase any white whales. We are on a quest for our furrever home with wonderful people. We like soft stuff and we love to race around. Right now it's hot, but we are oh so cool! When it gets cold we'll warm your nice soft bed, or snuggle your sleepy head! I'll sweeten your coffee for you! We love to be cute and precious and held like little babies. We're pretty sure you might need us to brighten your life with a little mischief & joy.

Come see us and apply to be our furry people. Don't forget we have an adoption fee! That's to keep the bees and whales safe! Okay, it might be for vetting, vaccines, flea treatment, etc. but we're pretending it's to keep our hunting abilities from developing.

Chloe

You are here:

Sweet Chloe was turned into the Houston City shelter by her owner along with her four baby kittens.  They were all underweight and so starving  - both for food and for attention!  Her kittens have all been adopted and now it's Chloe's turn.

Chloe loves to lay in the window sill in the sunshine.  She likes to have her ears rubbed and relax in her cat bed.  She's always up for some treats and to chase the laser pointer!  She is a very low maintenance cat and would like nothing more than to have a person all her own so that she can be the pampered cat she deserves to be!

Please consider me!

Born in October 2017, Chrissie and her sister Nicki were rescued from an apartment complex in SW Houston. She is a quiet kitty, but when picked up loves to cuddle against your neck. Her favorite parts of the day are treat time and when she gets her turn in the hammock.  (The sisters fuss at each other if they don't take turns, just like human sisters do!) Chrissie has been waiting over two years for a home to call her own. If you can offer this beautiful, tuxedo girl a forever family, please complete a HOPE application.

Cini

You are here:
This Russian Blue does everything but vacuum!
DOB Sept 2019 - The name Cini means blue in Russian! She loves to give and get kisses! She has a foster brother and sister that she plays with and grooms. She's talkative and will bring you the ball to throw and fetch when the other playmates are worn out! When the vacuum cleaner is pulled out, she thinks it's playtime and she will chase it and try to bat it! She would be lonely by herself so she needs to have a playmate. She gets along with cats and she would probably be good with cat-friendly dogs.

Cissy

You are here:

Born in May, 2017, Cissy and her sister Sassy were rescued from an apartment complex in SW Houston where children were torturing small animals and hawks were looking for their next meal. When the two small kittens were rescued, Cissy was ill and her sister was helping her. While recovering at the vet they put out their paws and made contact between their two crates - always staying in touch.

Cissy still has a few health issues, but they don't stop her from running and playing. She has so much energy and is usually the last one to bed and the first one up! Perhaps she is making up for the time when she was not able to play. Her older Foster Brother loves to pounce on his sisters, who squeal and run. Can you add Cissy to your family and give her a forever home?

Francine

You are here:

Hi, I'm Francine, and I am a spunky kitten who loves people and playing. I play hard with my foster people and other cats in the house, but I like to slow down and lounge on a lap or the couch when I get tired. I love exploring and enjoy climbing to high-up places. I am curious about the dogs in my foster home, especially the smaller one who wants to be my friend. I beg to be the center of attention most of the time, but on my own terms (for this reason, I probably shouldn't be around babies or small children). I would love to have a person or family of my very own, preferably one who will play with me A LOT and has another younger cat and I can play with.

Jeanie

You are here:

Hi, I'm Jeanie. They named me Jeanie because I popped up in a parking lot like a genie from a bottle. I am a magical cat who appears when you need me the most. Just kidding. But I've been seen at Petco popping up in weird places like on top of the toy bin or outside my kitty condo. I am a gorgeous kitty who loves to make biscuits and gaze out at the world through the window. Low energy and very sweet! Born 7/15/2019.

Kimmie

You are here:
Gentle and petite, young lady

Kimmie started coming to her foster mom's home for food. She only weighed 6 pounds so we thought she was a kitten.  It turned out Kimmie was three years old and just very thin.  Kimmie was so sweet and gentle, the foster was able to pick her up and place her in a carrier for the trip to the vet. Kimmie has a beautiful blue and white coat, is very affectionate, and is in good health.  Can you offer this girl a loving home?  DOB 4/08/2017

P. S.  Kimmie has gained a little weight during this "Stay-at-Home" period, just like her foster mom!   HOPE ID 20-0414-C027

Layny

You are here:
Born 3/27/2020

Voted most likely to purr with happiness and shake with fear at the same time.  Poor Layny came from a rural animal control facility where she had been born. She spent countless months without much human contact. This sweetie is just learning to accept being touched and held. Layny needs a patient home who will love her and teach her that playtime is fun.

Lena

You are here:

Lena is a very petite with unique tortoise - tabby color combination and outgoing personality. She is a kitten that loves attention and will purr non stop on her human mom's arms. She's very gentle and playful with her siblings, particularly with Lisa.

Lena, Liz, Lisa and Loui were found as babies 10 weeks old living in a drainage pipe emptying into a ditch. These little ones were terrified of humans and have to go trough the painful experience of being trapped to get them out of the drainage pipe. Once living in a comfortable home with delicious food and affection, they have realized being closed to humans is great. They are all happy to be handle and loved and pay back by cuddles and loud pouring

Lil Man

You are here:
Born 4/18/2020

I am Lil Man (well maybe not so little anymore). My foster mom thinks I may have some Orienal Shorthair genes because of my extremely affectionate nature (and maybe my sleek coat and big ears). On top of that, I am a curious guy who likes to explore empty boxes and hunt for treats or hidden balls. After a long period of play, I'm ready to curl up in a lap and sleep` (while being petted).

Louise

You are here:

Hello my name is Louise and I am a talkative, lovable 4 year old kitty. When I am home I have long “talks” with my Foster Mom. We discuss all the days events and, of course, the other kitties that live with me. (Sometimes they are naughty and I need to let Mom know.) I enjoy a good cat tree so I can keep an eye on things. When I am not there, I am sleeping in the big bed with Mom. If you have room in your heart and in your bed, please consider adding me to your family.

Luna

You are here:

Born around March 1, 2019, Luna was abandoned when she was found pregnant by her irresponsible owner. She ended up having her babies in an old milk can I a neighbor's yard. Fortunately, HOPE was able to get Luna and her babies into a foster home. Luna's babies are grown and now she needs a home where she can feel wanted.

Luna is very hesitant around strangers so doesn't show well at adoption events. She is also afraid of other aggressive cats. We believe Luna would do best in a quiet home where she can receive lots of snuggling and affection. Who can give this underdog some love?

Marshmallow

You are here:
Salvage Yard Daisies

I'm Marshmallow.  I'm the sweet curious boy with big eyes.  I have cute spots on my head and a bent tail.  (We don't know what happened)   I have big long legs so I'll probably be a tall boy.   I'm almost a professional soccer player.  I use "the legs" as my goal posts.  The fuzz ball must stay with the legs.  We play jumping and dancing on "the legs" to get the fuzzy. I've got the moves!  I like to be on someone.  Especially if it means I can play king of the mountain on the legs.  I love to guard the legs from my brother and sisters.  I jump at my siblings and spit at them protecting my prized spot on top of leg mountain.  I make it the best game!  I'm now out of the baby room causing excitement and joy all over the house!

I'm also a very helpful companion in the bathroom.  I love drawers! (tmi I know) Don't worry, cats are very clean. The There's nothing better than to play in the sweat pants/shorts.  They've got strings and pockets and hidey holes. I get my siblings from my secret lair in the shorts. They are a great place to play.  I've got the cutest personality to go along with all this fun.  I'm looking for an awesome human team.  We can be number one!

Background: Hello everybody!  We are five cutie pies FlanneryIsabella,  PansyCoffee & Cream and Marshmallow.  Well look at us, popping up like daisies in the junkyard!  Pretty babies don't belong here. A nice lady took one look at photos of us on the radiators and said: "That's not right."  So she rescued us and got our mommy fixed up too.  We had to have a bath to get all the oil and dirt off and then we had to have a good snuggle. We started eating like good little piggies. We got our vetting done. Now we are already for forever homes with lots of love and entertainment for our families/cat parents

Born April 1,2020, Maverick is as cute as a button and as sweet as candy! This little tabby boy was bottle fed and loves to be with people (even if he has to climb on them to get their attention). Big Sweet Snugglebug

Hi! I'm Max. - For Maximum!  I reach maximum speed racing and chasing my brother Tex.  I've maxed my kitten cuteness card over the limit.  I'm sporting maximum red tabby stripes direct from Haute Cature.  So you know I'm very stylish.  I have maximum fun wrestling and practicing my kitten skills.  I eat the maximum amout of good food so I can race Tex to the largest kitten on record.  When I get through being all "on" at maximum energy I like to unwind and charge my Kitthium batteries in a nice snuggly lap.  We could watch some tv or read an enriching book.  I'll bring maximum purrs to our unwind relaxation station.  My little vibrations will be like a rainbow of happiness.

My siblings Greta, Betty, Peggy and Tex are also high on the maximum sweetness scale. Check them out too!

We are very thankful for the nice ladies who rescued us and are helping us find our furrever homes.

A shy treasure

Do you believe in love at first sight? Mimi is an incurable romantic after all she was born on Valentine's day! This gentle girl is hesitent with strangers but is longing for love and stability.

Mimi would probably do best in a quiet home either as the queen of the castle or with other well behaved kitties. She like head rubs and being brushed. She is not demanding and will sleep quietly in a sunbeam or next to you as you watch TV. Give the sweet Valentine's Day kitty some love!

Murphy

You are here:

The only thing more beautiful than this Siamese/Snowshoe's looks is his heart. He is an old school romantic. His favorite movie is Casablanca; and he prefers cozy nights in with wine over being the life of the party out on the town. Due to his initially reserved demeanor, we recommend either an experienced cat owner or a committed adopter with a big heart and loving patience. Remember, this is the type of classic lover boy that wants to bond with you for life. He takes his time. He views this as a life long partnership, not some cheap speed dating event.  He want's to slowly get to know you and will thrive in a quiet home where he can have his individual space to decompress. Loud noises and sudden movements "ruin the mood" for him. Thus, busy homes with small rowdy children would not be best. Murphy is a hard cat to photograph properly due to his insatiable need to  hold you.  He is a cuddly, affectionate bundle of paws who craves attention and a stomach to sleep on.

Muse

You are here:

Estimated date of birth is 3/2/19.

Muse is a stunningly beautiful classic brown tabby.  She and her kittens were rescued by a Good Samaritan and through a couple of turns, they found their way to HOPE's cat adoption program.

Muse is an independent sort of girl, she likes attention and pets for a while but then she's happy to jump down and do something else.  She likes sitting in the window sill watching the birds and squirrels and she especially likes Temptations treats!  Muse is being fostered at a cattery but she'd be most happy to have a person all her own, one that she didn't have to share with other cats.

If you are interested in Muse and would like to fill out an application, go to: http://www.homelesspets.net/adoption-forms/cat-adoption.php . Nicki

Striking black beauty, ready for adoption!

Born in October 2017, Nicki and her sister Chrissie, were rescued from an apartment complex in SW Houston. She is a quiet kitty who enjoys sleeping in her hammock, being brushed and eating Temptation treats.  Like sisters everywhere, the two girls argue over taking turns in the hammock and getting an even share of the treats.  Nicki has a sleek black coat and piercing yellow-green eyes.  If you have a quiet home to offer Nicki, please contact HOPE.

Noodle

You are here:

Noodle is a big baby and dreams of growing up to be a lap cat. He has gray eyes, an elegantly slender face, black and gray stripes, and white legs and belly.  He was born on June 28th outside of a hair salon in Spring, TX.  He has been cuddled daily by the 3 kids in his foster family.  He would do great in a family with young kids, and would likely do fine in a home with other cats or dogs.

Noodle's favorite toy is a feather.  The only time he has hissed was to protect his feather from his littermates.  His signature kitten move is the Sidewinder, when he puffs up and hops sideways before a masterful pounce, which usually happens if someone has stolen his beloved feather.  His pounces are usually so enthusiastic that they result in a tangled kitten somersault.  He would love to be adopted with his littermate Pickle. (Don't forget to buy a feather toy to win his heart when you adopt him!)  HOPE ID 20-0814-D017

Pacino

You are here:
Spooning, Teddy Bear of a Cat

Looking for your own lovable, house MOUNTAIN LION?  Here he is!

Mistakenly notched at the ear as a feral, handsome Pacino is nothing but a green-eyed bundle of love who has never met a stranger.  He eagerly seeks to know visitors to the house and love on them, too, often standing on his back legs and putting his front paws on their thigh to really grab their attention.  He’s quite a character!  Pacino also gets along with all of his furry friends in his foster family’s house – cats and dogs alike (children, too, but, thankfully, they aren’t furry)   https://vm.tiktok.com/JjRAj7y/  If the TikTok links don’t work for you, please copy and paste them into your browser.

Pacino craves affection and loves to give it, too.  He is also very vocal.  He trills and talks to us a lot.  In this video, you can see how Pacino stole his foster family’s heart.  Look how desperately he wanted to be inside!  This was outside of a family’s home in Alief where he was discovered.  https://vm.tiktok.com/Jeh1XGQ/

Pacino has an eye infection that has to be treated 1x-2x per day with eye ointment.  It is steadily improving. Some cats with FVR (feline viral rhinopneumonitis) eventually become asymptomatic but they will always have the virus, even if it goes dormant. Pacino is not contagious around fully-vaccinated cats. (That’s what the “FVR” is for in standard FVRCP cat vaccines.)  If only someone would have gotten the poor guy his kitten shots!  DOB 6/01/2018  Pacino is not contagious to other species or humans.

Pacino is kind of resigned to the daily eye treatments and will hang his legs a la Winnie the Pooh (“okay, let’s just get it over with”): https://vm.tiktok.com/JNpq8VS/  His foster family is hopeful that in a household where Pacino is king of the castle (less pets around and therefore, less stress), his eye condition will become asymptomatic.  This is not just wishful thinking as studies indicate that in less stressful environments, symptoms of FVR tend to improve.  Currently, the eye condition is under control and really not a big deal to treat.  We are looking for someone who will love Pacino as much as we do because he really is a special cat.

Pacino is negative for feline leukemia and negative for feline AIDS.  He’s neutered, microchipped and current on all of his vaccines.  He also likes to fetch and SITS on command — when he feels like it.  He is a cat for goodness sake!   https://vm.tiktok.com/JeBJens/

Al Pacino once said, “You’re only as good as the chances you take.” Won’t you take a chance on Pacino and give him a place he can call home?  This lover boy will not let you down. He will be your LOYAL companion ❤️

Pickle

You are here:

Pickle is a handsome boy!   He has gray eyes, big cheeks, black and white stripes, and white legs and belly. He was born on June 28th outside of a hair salon in Spring, TX.

Pickle has been cuddled daily by the 3 kids in his foster family.  He would do great in a family with young kids, and would likely do fine in a home with other cats or dogs.  He has just the right mix of kitten qualities.  He is snuggly but not lazy.  He is curious but not a master mess-maker. He is a cautious investigator, but not a scaredy-cat.

Pickle is a great pouncer but prefers to hunt paper sacks over toes. He really is that happy medium of everything that makes a great little cat. He would love to be adopted with his littermate Noodle.   HOPE ID 20-0814-D016

Pike

You are here:

Born in June 2015, this beautiful boy is a complete sweetheart! He loves attention and would gladly sit on his foster mom's lap or next to her until the end of time.

He is a gentle guy who would do best in a home with adults-only home or in one with older, pet-friendly children. He does well with other cats who are gentle like him and enjoys playing with his current foster kitten sister, but would be just fine as an only cat. He currently lives with well trained, cat-friendly dogs, whom he ignores

Princess

You are here:
My name fits me perfectly!

Princess is one of five cats abandoned after her elderly owner, who had dementia,  had to go to the hospital and never came home. Despite her sad situation, there is no doubt that her owner adored her and took care of her as best she could.

Princess gets along well with most other cats and small dogs although she likes to be the Diva and eat first!   She purrs loudly when being petted or brushed and likes to carry on conversations with her foster mom.  She's great company - she will follow you around the house but she's not much of a lap cat.  This 'princess' would love to have a permanent home where she can spend time in the window sill watching the birds and squirrels and get head/ear scratches!

Now it’s Princess’s turn…she is looking for a quiet home with no dogs or cats. She’s a very independent, sweet cat. She has that sassy attitude because she knows she’s a princess. But don’t worry, she’s well behaved and loves to sleep by your feet. Princess loves modeling and knowing that she’s got your attention when she’s posing for a picture.

Raleigh

You are here:

Cuddly, playful, and incorrigibly curious, Raleigh is never boring. Far from it. His antics are quite entertaining.  For example, he is very interested in what’s inside the refrigerator. As soon as anyone opens the door to the fridge, this black and white tuxedo boy is standing on the (bottom half) freezer door on his hind legs peering inside, “whatcha got to eat?”  He’s a bit of a scamp!

Raleigh makes up for his mischief by being handsome, rabbit soft, and sweet.  Since his foster family has had him since he was one-week old, he’s very okay with being cradled upside down like a baby.  When one of his foster’s friends comes over, she holds Raleigh upside down and massages his little ears until he’s in a kitten trance (see picture in video).  https://vm.tiktok.com/JjhmFCX/  If the TikTok link doesn’t work for you, please copy and paste it into your browser.

Raleigh also has this habit of demanding attention ever so often.  It is actually a trait of all of his litter mates.  He will meow at you until you pick him up or he will crawl onto your shoulder or lap once you're seated.  If you put him down, he’ll follow you around and meow some more.  Sometimes his foster family members have to try to pawn him off on each other if whatever they’re doing will not align well with holding a kitten, i.e., typing on the computer or cooking. “Can you hold Raleigh?  He REALLY wants to be held!!!”

Raleigh is accustomed to the busy home of his foster family’s kids, dogs, and cats.  He has recently discovered YouTube videos for cats (seen in above TikTok video link)!  He plays hard but once he’s tired, he’s ready to cuddle up and purr on his favorite human’s lap, in the crook of their knees as they sleep, or maybe even in the top of the cat tree.  HOPE ID 20-0521-D007

Hi I'm Razor, but don't let me name scare you. I run fast. I like things I can pick up in my mouth and run around with. I also like cardboard boxes, jingle balls and playing hide'n'seek in blankets and sheets. I think I'm helping my foster Mom, but not sure she agrees. My favorite afternoon activity is naps in laps. Do you have a lap I can cuddle up in?

Sabrina

You are here:

Playful, inquisitive and loving.

Sebrina was born outside an apartment complex in a litter of four and rescued by a cat lover.  She loves to play with furry mice, balls, or just about any small object within her reach.  She is very social and hangs well with her littermates. Sebrina is quite inquisitive and works diligently at getting into closets, drawers and cabinets.  Sebrina likes to be held for short periods of time and is very affectionate with humans.  She greets you with enthusiasm and lets you know that she is there.  Her brothers do not dominate this girl, she can easily play at their level.  Sebrina would make a wonderful companion to humans, cat-friendly dogs, children who respect her boundaries and other cats. She would love to be adopted with one of her littermates Bruno, Tucker or Minnie.

Born in May  2017, Sassy and her sister Cissy were rescued from an apartment complex in SW Houston where children were torturing small animals and hawks were looking for their next meal. Now Sassy loves to run and play. Her older Foster Brother loves to pounce on his sisters, who squeal and run. Sassy is a sweetie who would love to have a forever home.
