(Mr.) Noel #lap-kitty-bed-buddy

You are here:
LOVES TO BE CARRIED AROUND

DOB 7/12/21

I'm (Mr.) Noel, just your perfect feline companion! I'm a very friendly, affectionate, loving, easygoing, and active spotted cream tabby. My foster mom calls me her favorite "lap kitten" and her "bed buddy" because I love to snuggle. I was rescued as a baby and bottle-fed by my human, so I love being carried around.  I live with cats and dogs, so I get along well with other cats and cat-friendly dogs.

Why am I a "special needs" kitty? I was recently diagnosed with diabetes insipidus. It is easily controlled with daily eyedrops, but I will need an experienced owner who can give me my drops every day, and monitor my drinking and...um...output in case dosage needs to be adjusted by the vet.

HOPE ID 21-0814-A050

If you are interested in (Mr.) Noel and would like to fill out an online Cat Adoption Application, please go to https://www.homelesspets.net/adoption-forms/cat-adoption.php. Submitting an application does not obligate you to adopt, but it initiates contact with us and gets the process started.  If you have questions prior to filling out the application, email us at hope@homelesspets.net, and a volunteer will get back to you.

Adora #catnip-addict

LOVES THE WAND TOY

DOB 4/7/22

Meow! Meow, everyone! I’m Adora, a very sweet, affectionate brown tabby young lady with green eyes as big as saucers. I love sleeping with Foster Meowmy in bed as well as just hanging out with her around the house. I enjoy being petted, tolerate being hugged as well as kissed, but LOVE catnip and playtime. Boy, howdy, I adore it when my foster meowmy waves the wand toy over my head!

I was a friendly neighborhood stray who was going up to everyone who walked by saying, “Hi, I’m confused. Can I come home with you, please?” Fortunately, a HOPE volunteer spotted me on her street, scooped me up, and brought me safely inside her home.

At my tender age, it looked like I’d already been a teenage mom because my teats were just drying up. Foster Meowmy thinks that most likely someone had kept my kittens but dumped me. No worries! I checked out very healthy at the vet, and now I’ll never have another litter.

True confessions: I’ve got some good news and some bad news. I get along fine with the resident little pooch in my foster home, but I’m not good with other cats. Foster Meowmy is not sure why, but it may hark back when I was fending for myself as a young stray momma and trying my best to protect my litter from other stray cats. Consequently, I should either share my forever home with a cat-friendly dog or be an only kitty-child.

I’m happy, contented, quiet, and undemanding. I’m not an overly needy cat because I’m fine just doing my own thing. Perhaps you like an emotionally secure cat who doesn’t have to cling to her hooman, constantly meow for attention, or be right in the middle of your computer keyboard. Then I’m the gal for you. All I ask is a few chin scratches, an occasional wave of the feather wand toy, and a large dose of catnip.

Alessandro (bonded to Zurya)

You are here:
SHY BUT WARMS UP QUICKLY

DOB 10/27/22

Meow! Meow, everyone! I’m Alessandro, a sweet, affectionate, and handsome tuxedo fella who was named after Alessandro Michele, an Italian fashion designer. I’m bonded to my snow princess sister Zurya. We like to think of ourselves as dressed in elegant formalwear and ready to attend a gala. I pride myself for my fur-ever black-tie formalwear. What could be more elegant attire than Zurya's simple designer gown of white marabou feathers from head to paw?

We’re symbiotic in our relationship: I tend to be shy when I first meet new people at these fancy galas, but as long as Zurya is on my arm, I warm up quickly. She’s the leader of our duo, even on these black-tie event’s dance floor. For this reason, Foster Meowmy will only allow us to be adopted together as a bonded pair.

We’ve been handled, cuddled, and “cooed-over” since we were born, so we’re extremely fond of our hooman foster family and delight in being held. But we’re no couch potatoes! No siree! Like typical kittens, we tumble and pounce, climb and wrestle until we’re exhausted and collapse in a kitten puddle. Our innate curiosity gives us a thrill for adventure, so we’ve been known to be non-stop explorers of what’s behind every door and inside every box.

Our litter of five was born to our feral momma just a few days after my foster family brought her into their loving home. So not only have we had Momma’s nurturing care but also we’ve been around the resident terrier dog and other resident cats. Consequently, we’d fit like a glove into the family dynamics of many households.

Since we’re beautiful on the inside as well as the outside, we’re the bonded pair who will deliver giggles and glamour to our future forever home. Arrange to meet us! I promise that we’ll leave tiny paw prints all over your heart.

Bagheera #black-panther

You are here:
BIG, HANDSOME, VELVETEEN!

DOB 5/26/19

Howdy everyone! I’m Bagheera, a sweet, social, people-oriented black DSH/Bombay mix fella with a sleek, shiny velveteen coat and brilliant green eyes. Because I love to stay close by my foster mom's side, you might call me a “Velcro” cat. I was named for the black panther in Kipling’s/Disney’s “The Jungle Book.”

Hopefully you're not superstitious because, as Groucho Marx said, "A black cat's crossing your path signifies that he's going somewhere." I was so glad to have been taken to my HOPE foster home because black cats are five times more likely to be euthanized at a shelter. Most people who adopt black cats once want to adopt one again because of their outstanding personalities and emotional stability.

Arrange to meet me today! My magnificence needs to be experienced in person!

Barbie #New-Years-Day-kitty

You are here:
SASSY AND BEAUTIFUL

DOB 1/1/17

Hi there! I’m Barbie, an affectionate, sweet-faced bicolor tabby gal who’s mostly white with silver tabby on my head, torso, and tail. I’m an outgoing, spunky, but opinionated little lady who absolutely loves to cuddle in my foster meowmy’s lap.

I’m a playful girl whose favorite things are kitty tunnels, boxes, and toy mice. When I need a "time out" after playing or from my housemates, I  prefer to bask in sunbeams on the windowsill or curl up on top of the refrigerator.

I get along pretty well with other foster kitties and would do well in a household with a laid-back cat or dog but probably not with small children. Arrange to meet me today!

Bas #golden-boy

You are here:
ROCK AND ROLLER

DOB 4/11/22

Howdy everyone! I’m Bas, the Golden Boy, a happy, very playful, curious tawny-gold “tuxedo” tabby with white mittens and vest. My foster meowmy describes me as “studiously” smart and independent as well as having a very sweet disposition. I’m a gentle boy who’s drawn to her and other animals for affectionate engagement, which is my mantra.

I was found as a stray off Cullen Boulevard, but thankfully HOPE stepped in to find me a forever home. Even though I'm an orphan kitten, I fit in immediately to the dynamics of my foster home, which includes felines of all ages as well as dogs of all shapes and sizes.

I adjusted beautifully and wasted no time before I was playing with the other foster kittens. Fortunately there is a litter that is just few weeks older than I am, and we have a blast tumbling and pouncing, climbing and wrestling.

I’m mesmerized when I track the sounds of balls with bells and other toys that roll or move. I love also to chase foam balls, catnip mice, and wand toys, and when I'm thoroughly exhausted from my kitten antics, I collapse in a kitten puddle.

Arrange to meet me today! I’d do best in a home with other felines with whom I could engage. It’d be the cat’s meow if I could be adopted with one of my foster-mates with whom I’ve already bonded so well. We could keep each other company while you’re at work or on vacation. I’d be deeply appreciative if you’d choose me to join you in your loving home.

Bear

You are here:
CUTE, CUDDLY GUY

DOB 10-26-22

This tiny bundle of cuteness was named  Bear because he reminded the rescuer of a black Bear. He's fluffy and cute and loves to be held. Bear was found all by himself at a month old under an abandoned car. He was taken in by a kind lady and is now ready for the next chapter of his life.

Bear loves exploring his environment and sleeping in soft fluffy beds. Whenever you can't find him, he's probably checking out the latest Amazon box.  Meet Bear and fall in love.

Bengy and Cookie (bonded twins)

You are here:
LOVE TO BE HELD

DOB 8/8/22

Meow! Meow, everyone! We’re Bengy and Cookie, a bonded set of sweet, playful red tabby identical-twin boys who love to be held by Foster Meowmy. When we’re not chasing each other all over our foster home, we like to sit in the cat tree or snuggle together in our cat bed, which sits on Foster Meowmy’s bed.

We’re look so much alike that Foster Meowmy had to give us color-coded collars to tell us apart visually. However, just like most human twins, she can distinguish us by our distinct personalities.

Bengy says, “I want to be a new person’s friend, but I lack confidence and am rather timid. However, if I see that Cookie is friendly with you, then I’ll come up for you to pet me.” Cookie says, “I’m more comfortable with new situations and new people. That’s why I purr as soon as Foster Meowmy picks me up.”

When we were three months old, we were rescued from a Pearland elementary school. At first we were a little skeptical of our new “digs” because we hadn’t been around people. After only a few months of being in our foster home, however, we quickly made a lot of progress on the socialization scale.

We get along great with the other cats as well as dogs in our foster home. In fact, the dogs’ barking doesn’t faze us a bit. We’re very “attached at the hip” with each other, and unlike human brothers, we never fight. Because I (Bengy) hang back tentatively until I (Cookie) make a move, Foster Meowmy would really like us to be adopted together.

Arrange to meet us today! We promise to leave tiny paw prints all over your heart.

Bud #fantastic-7-kitty

COOL, CALM, & COLLECTED

DOB 3/27/22

Hi! I'm Bud, an affectionate, curious, and playful brown tabby fella with white tuxedo markings who’s been perfecting true Eskimo kisses. I love it when Foster Meowmy scratches behind my ears all the way down to my tail, which makes me waggle my --- ah hem — you know what!  I’m a true buddy who cherishes any attention that Foster Meowmy can send my way.

I love playing with crinkled paper as well as balls with bells and catnip mice -- as long as I can first check out any lurking feline characters. I tend to remain cool and calm as I set myself apart from the shenanigans of the rest of my litter, but then I jump in when I decide I want to participate in their rough-housing and chasing. And I can’t resist when my foster meowmy dangles toys over my head or darts the laser around the room.

I'm one of the Fantastic 7 litter along with Bang, Bing, Mitz, Blu, Maci, Maxi, and Dash. We were born outside, but when our foster meowmy rescued us at one month old, she brought us indoors. It'd be the cat's meow if I could be adopted with one of my siblings. That way we could keep each other company while you're at work or on vacation.

If you’re looking for an engaging, loving fella with a sweet, handsome face, I’m your boy!

"TALKS" TO YOU

DOB 3/10/22

Meow! Meow, everyone! I'm Carly, and I'm a sweet, gentle, playful gray and white tuxedo gal who likes to curl up with Foster Meowmy while she reads or watches TV and to snuggle with her in bed.  I can carry on quite a “conversation” with Foster Meowmy. I listen carefully when she talks to me, look intently into her eyes, and then meow back to her. I’m like her shadow because I follow her around and am especially curious when she’s doing her chores.

I was rescued with my sister Boots from under the deck in a nice lady's back yard. We were hiding from the neighbor's dog, who managed to kill our sibling. I’m so grateful that we ended up in the safety of our HOPE foster home.

Boots and I have a blast tumbling and pouncing, climbing and wrestling with each other. I get along great with the resident orange tabby, who tolerates my jumping on him as well as playing with his tail. Boy howdy! Do I love it when Foster Meowmy dangles the wand toy over my head or flashes the laser light for me to chase!

I can be initially shy when meeting new people, and I clam up in new surroundings. I don’t show well at adoption events because I freeze up in my cage with all the noise and chaos. However, the good news is that once I get to know someone and get acclimated to my new “digs,” it’s not long before I open up and come out of my shell. If you can get past my discomfort in the unknown and see my loving heart and gentle temperament that quickly blossom in the right environment, I think I could be your purrfect companion.

If you're looking for a total sweetheart with fur as soft as velvet, I'm your gal! Arrange to meet me today!

Chrissie (sister of Nicki)

You are here:
DRAPES NECKS LIKE A MINK BOA

DOB 10/1/17

Hello everyone! I’m Chrissie, a sweet, quiet, beautiful tuxedo gal with four white mittens and a glossy coat. When Foster Meowmy picks me up, I love to cuddle against her neck. My sister Nicki and I were rescued from dumpster-diving at an apartment complex in southwest Houston.

My favorite parts of the day are treat time and when I get my turn in the hammock. Like human sisters, Nicki and I argue over whose turn it is for lying in the hammock and getting an even share of the treats.

Although we’re available separately, it’d be the cat’s meow if we could be adopted together. That way we’d keep each other company while you’re at work or on vacation. If you’re looking for a calm, loving kitty who’s past the stage of kitten mayhem, I’m you girl! Arrange to meet me (and NIcki, for that matter!) today! I can’t wait to snuggle against YOUR neck in my new forever home.

Christie Brinkley #Uptown-Girl

You are here:
GREEN-GLOBE EYES SET IN SWEET, ROUND FACE

DOB 12/8/21

Mew! Mew, everyone! I’m Christie Brinkley, a sweet, dainty, playful, inquisitive young silver tabby “bicolor” who’s tabby on my head, back, and tail and white on the other half of my body. My foster meowmy spotted me one day in the Uptown Park parking lot, where the security guards had been feeding me after I’d birthed my first litter of kittens in the clock tower. Foster Meowmy knew that a parking lot next to the 610-Loop feeder was too dangerous for me to live, so she rescued me and, since I’d already been a teenage momma once, “fixed” me so that unwanted motherhood wouldn’t happen to me again.

She christened me Christie Brinkley, who was a super-model of the 70’s and 80’s. Baby boomers would know that Christie Brinkley was married to Billy Joel and actually starred in his music video for “Uptown Girl.” I’m a petite girl with a sweet, round face, huge green-globe eyes, and dainty, long legs – so you could say that I’m a super-model of the feline world.

Foster Meowmy loves the way I run around the house and approach her with my tail straight up in the air like a flagpole! Although I’m not a lap cat per se, I love to sit close to her when she’s reading in hopes that she’ll give me a few treats. I let her pick me up or put me in her lap while she scratches my ears, chin, and chest. That feels sooooo good, so I turn on my purr motor, but then I’m down again chasing my favorite kitty spring-toy or balls with bells. And I’ve discovered that sleeping in bed with Meowmy is a great place to spend the night. I’m very curious and love to investigate inside any open door, including the dishwasher’s.

Initailly I had a few trust issues after having to fend for myself as a young stray momma who tried her best to protect my wee ones from predators. The good news is that these fight-or-flight reactions are slowly evaporating as I get acclimated to Foster Meowmy as my new caretaker and the resident cats as my safe new friends. I'm very food-motivated, so I adore and trust Foster Meowmy because she’s the provider of yummy wet food, treats, and fun toys, and the neutered male has become my playmate and sniffin’ buddy. I’m interested in making friends with the female kitties, but they are not warming up to me very fast, so we still hiss and meeeooow when we get too close.

Since my foster environment is an otherwise quiet home, I’m not used to a lot of noise or other people because, to me, they signal danger, so I run and hide when Meowmy’s friends come over to visit. But as I relax and become more comfortable in my new surroundings, I’m peeling away the timidity – just like you would peel an onionskin. I’m living proof how much Foster Meowmy's “love” and “time” are transforming me into a wonderful companion in a relatively short period of time.

I hope you’ll arrange to meet me. True confessions, I clam up in new surroundings, so I don’t show well at HOPE adoption events because of all the noise and chaos. Ideally at our meet-and-greet, you can look past my temporary anxiety about the unfamiliar. If you can visualize my loving nature and sweet temperament that quickly blossom once I warm up, I think we could be best forever friends.

Cupcake #sweet-treat

SNUGGLES ON YOUR NECK

DOB 4/4/22

Hello everyone! I’m Cupcake, a friendly, gentle, fun-loving, playful, energetic dilute gray torbie girl with peach patches who can be cuddly one minute and then full of zoomies the next. I snuggle in bed with my foster meowmy every night, and that’s when I turn on my purr motor, which makes the perfect white noise for us to drift off to sleep.

Right now I’m not a full-fledged lap cat because I’m too busy being a kitten. I love it when my foster meowmy scratches my head, but then I wiggle out of her lap to go run and play with my foster mates Diamond Girl and Molly. Nevertheless, Foster Meowmy’s patience is being rewarded, and I’m making progress learning to be more affectionate. When she embraces me, I snuggle against her neck and whisper sweet nothings in her ear.

I was rescued on a busy road as a five-week-old orphan kitten whom a family found while they were vacationing in Port Lavaca. I got my moniker Cupcake because of my small, dainty appearance and because I'm sweet as a Sprinkles Cupcake. To make my polite requests, I meow so quietly and sweetly that I barely make a noise.

Upon arriving at my foster home, I bonded easily with Diamond Girl and Molly. We have so much fun together romping and chasing each other throughout the house, and when we’re thoroughly exhausted, we collapse in a kitten puddle. Sometimes I assume the motherly role and lick one's head until she falls asleep. Although we're available separately, it would be the cat's meow if I could be adopted with either Diamond Girl or Molly.

When I need a “time out,” I’ll curl up for a nap in my fluffy bed or bask in a sunbeam on the windowsill to watch the world go by. I have no problem entertaining myself with balls with bells, crinkle toys, and catnip mice, and boy, howdy, I love it when my foster meowmy dangles the feather wand toy over my head!

I’m a cute little kitten with a huge personality, and I’d love to go home with you. I promise to leave tiny paw prints all over your heart. I really AM a good Cupcake! Arrange to meet me today!

Daisy #queen-bee

You are here:
SHY BUT INDEPENDENT

DOB 5/10/22

Hi everyone! I’m Daisy, a shy, sensitive soul with gigantic round green eyes. I’m a beautiful fawn-colored patched tabby/torbie, which means that I have patches of peach tabby splashed on my otherwise tawny-brown tabby coat. It looks like someone spilled caramel on me in a candy factory.

Because I’m easily stimulated by touch, I’m not a big fan of being picked up. I enjoy being petted gently and lightly on my ears, chin, and side of my face, but I let Foster Meowmy know when she's piled it on too thick and I’ve had enough. Think about it - - you’re the same way when you’ve had enough tickling or deep massaging.

I’m a very happy kitty when Foster Meowmy just lets me do my own thing, like the Queen Bee that I am. I’m an independent gal who’s perfectly happy going off and playing by myself, and I'll come around and initiate some physical interaction when it fancies me. I guess you’d say that I’ve got a mind of my own and don’t hesitate to assert myself over my subjects. Who knows if you're the person who wants a kitty like me who's on the opposite end of the "neediness" spectrum.

Theophile Gautier described me beautifully when he wrote, [A cat] will be your friend, if she finds you worthy of friendship, but NOT your slave.” If you’re up to the challenge of MY owning you instead of vice versa, I’d be delighted to move to your quiet home (without noisy kids) where I can rule my kingdom. No worries if you've got other cats as I'd more than likely be compatible with them.

DASHES ABOUT BEFORE DIVING IN

DOB 3/27/22

Hi! I'm Dash, an initially shy black and white tuxdeo gal who's gaining in my confidence. Since I'm a little tentative, I got my name because I tend to dash about before I dive in.

Once my foster meowmy gets down on the floor to play with me, I'm ready to swat those wand toys or chase that laser light. I love rough-and-tumbling with my brothers and sisters too.

I'm one of the Fantastic 7 litter, along with Bang, Bing, Mitz, Blu, Bud, Maci, and Maxi. We were born outside, but when our foster meowmy rescued us at one month old, we were brought indoors. It would be the cat's meow if I could be adopted with one of my siblings. That way we could keep each other company while you're at work or on vacation.

Diamond Girl #back-porch-girl

You are here:
QUIET, PLAYFUL OBSERVER

DOB 3/14/22

Hi! I’m Diamond Girl, a sweet, gentle, friendly brown "patched" tabby with white tuxedo markings. Tiny random patches of peach are scattered on my coat, and this makes me look like caramel was spilled on me in a candy factory. I got my name from a perfect diamond-shaped spot on my forehead.

My mommy birthed me and my sisters Jumpin’ Jill and Ruby on a nice lady’s back porch, and when we were six weeks old, she brought us inside her house to keep us safe and to socialize us really well.

I’m the docile one of the trio of “back-porch” sisters. Since  I'm a little shy on my own, I follow my sisters and stay in the background.  I actively seek to be near my foster meowmy, sometimes just so I can sit and watch her quietly. I love to be next to her on the sofa or the bed, to be petted, and to rub against her arms and legs. But I'm one of those kitties who doesn't like being held, so I'll wriggle out of her arms or lap if she tries to contain me.

I’m no couch potato! No siree! When I’m in a playful mood, I’m very active and spirited! I love to rough-and-tumble, chase, and climb, especially with my foster mates Cupcake and Molly. When we’re thoroughly exhausted, we collapse into a kitten puddle.

Although we're available separately, it’d be the cat’s meow if I could be adopted with either Diamond Girl or Molly. That way we’d keep each other company while you’re at work or on vacation.

If you’re looking for a little girl to bring joy, happiness, and laughter into your life, I’m your gal! Since I’m so mild, gentle, and docile, I’d be perfect in a home with well-behaved small children.

Duke #lion-king

You are here:
PURR MONSTER

DOB 7/20/22

Meow! Meow, everyone! I'm Duke, an adorable, friendly, happy, and playful brown tabby fella with white tuxedo markings. I don’t let my diminutive size change my believing that I’m a big, brave lion. No siree! I’m a sassy little dude who will walk right up to greet you.

I have the loudest purr motor that you’ve ever heard! In fact, all the vet techs fell in love with me for my bold purring. I’m an absolute sweetheart who loves to cuddle with my foster meowmy.  I'm great friends with the hoomans of all ages and other cats in my foster home. Although I haven’t been around dogs, I'm young enough that Foster Meowmy thinks I should get along great with cat-friendly dogs.

My birth momma left my sister and me as orphans in a nice couple’s back yard when we were only four weeks old. The couple fed us for a few days, but they were afraid that we’d fall into the swimming pool and drown, so they turned to our HOPE foster meowmy to find us homes.

I was very bonded to my sister, and we “spoon-slept” together, which means that we slept like nesting spoons. We loved each other and did everything together, but – alas! -- she’s been adopted. I miss her so much that I want Foster Meowmy to hold me all the time now. So, unless you’re an octopus, I need to have a new fur buddy – preferably a kitten – with whom to play and “spoon sleep” in my forever home.

I’m simply the cutest, bravest, and happiest little tabby fella whom you’ll ever meet, and I’d love to snuggle into your home and heart. Arrange to meet me today! I may just get you to guess the decibels on my purr motor, which sounds like an outboard motor!

INDEPENDENT & INQUISITIVE

DOB 8/25/21

Hello everyone! I’m Elsa, a sweet, stunningly beautiful black DSH/Bombay mix with a sleek, shiny patent-leather coat and big, copper-penny eyes. I’m independent and very inquisitive. I’m initially shy but am so food-driven that I always nudge closer to my foster meowmy for a good treat.

I love to tumble and pounce, climb and wrestle with my siblings. I can also entertain myself because I love balls with bells, catnip mice, and crinkle toys. Plus I’m very comfortable around the dogs and other cats in my foster home.

Hopefully you're not superstitious because, as Groucho Marx said, "A black cat's crossing your path signifies that he's going somewhere." I’m so grateful that I was rescued into a foster home because black cats are five times more likely to be euthanized at a shelter. Most people who adopt black cats once want to adopt one again because of their outstanding personalities and emotional stability.

I hope you’ll arrange to meet me! I’d like nothing better than for you to open your heart and home to me. I’ll need patience and time to come out of my shell in my new digs, but it will be worth the effort! I’m one little black panther who’ll leave tiny paw prints all over your heart

CALM, AFFECTIONATE, & DELIGHTFUL

DOB 8/1/21

Hi everyone! I’m Fender, a very calm, very affectionate, and overall delightful tortoiseshell gal. Although I’m initially shy, I luxuriate in my foster meowmy’s caressing and holding me closely, and I snuggle right up next to her in order to show her my pleasure.

I consider it a real turning point in my life when my foster meowmy rescued me out of an abusive home where a disabled boy was mistreating me. I’m grateful that I’m safe and happy now that I’m securely situated in my loving HOPE foster home. Tensions are gone, and now I can relax.

I get along great with the kids in my foster home, but I’m scared if the dogs.

I eagerly anticipate finding my forever family who will cherish me like my foster meowmy does. Arrange to meet me so we can write new chapters in our lives together.

Freedom & Sparkler (brother & sister)

You are here:
LET'S CELEBRATE JULY 4TH WITH THIS DUO

DOB 7/4/21

Hi everyone! We’re Freedom and Sparkler, and we’re siblings who got our names because we were born on the Fourth of July.

Freedom says, “I’m a handsome brown tabby fella with big, innocent gold eyes and strong mackerel (‘stars and) stripes’ on my forearms and chest. I’m quite the lap cat! I love attention, and nothing beats snuggling with my foster meowmy. That’s when I turn on my purr machine, which sounds like a perking coffeepot, and whisper sweet nothings in her ear. When there’s no lap available, I can be found snuggling with a big smelly sneaker.”

Sparkler says, “I’m a quirky, funny, and very loving dilute tortoiseshell with plenty of 'tortie-tude' who reigns on my 'subjects,' i.e. the humans and other resident and foster animals, usually from a high perch like the cat tree. I’m a regular Marco Polo in that I’m a fearless explorer -- there is no box, no open drawer, no perch, no tub that I won't explore. I’m also a bit mischievous as I like to ambush people and animals by jumping out at them when they are most distracted. I guess you'd say that I have a slightly crooked halo, but my crazy antics are usually good for at least one laugh a day for my foster human family.

Our feral mama birthed us on foster meowmy’s front porch. Foster Meowmy brought us all inside, and after we were weaned, she spayed and released Mama, although in the meantime she’s found a home with a neighbor. Although available separately, we think it would be the cat's meow if we could be adopted together. That way we can keep each other company while you're at work or on vacation. Freedom says, "I want to snuggle in your lap," and Sparkler says, "I want to start a new rap sheet of crimes at YOUR house. Let's have a few laughs at my crazy antics."

PURRING SNUGGLE BUDDY

DOB 7/4/21

Hi everyone! I’m Freedom, and I’m a handsome brown tabby fella who got my name because I was born on the Fourth of July. I have big, innocent gold eyes and strong mackerel ("stars and) stripes" on my forearms and chest.

I’m quite the lap cat! I love attention,   and nothing beats snuggling with my foster meowmy. That’s when I turn on   my purr machine, which sounds like a perking coffeepot, and whisper sweet nothings in her ear. When there’s no lap available, I can be found snuggling with a big smelly sneaker.

I actually trained Foster Meowmy on how to play fetch with my favorite squiggly toy. When she’s tired of playing fetch, I "hide" my toy, and the bathtub is the usual repository. While everyone is fast asleep, I’ll entertain myself by batting my toy(s) around in the bathtub. I say toys because some mornings my other 4 or 5 toys, which I’d previously hidden elsewhere, all of a sudden appear in the tub. Foster Meowmy is always puzzled that my “lost” toys have resurfaced, but hiding my favorite toys is just my way of ensuring that I’m their sole possessor.

My feral mama birthed my sister Sparkler and me on foster meowmy’s front porch. Foster Meowmy brought us all inside, and after Sparkler and I were weaned, she spayed and released Mama, although in the meantime she’s found a home with a neighbor. Although available separately, Sparkler and I think it would be the cat's meow if we could be adopted together. That way we can keep each other company while you're at work or on vacation.

As you can see by my photo, all the cuddles and playtime have created a "furever" smile on my face! Arrange to meet me today! I’d love for YOU to be my next snuggle buddy.

BEAUTIFUL TUXEDO TORTIE

DOB 5/1/22

Mew! Mew, everyone! I’m Ginger Rogers, a sweet, gentle, unusually beautiful tortoiseshell gal with white tuxedo markings who loves head rubs. I was curious about new surroundings in my foster home but now explore them because I feel comfortably situated.

I’m a lively playmate with my "movie-star" siblings, Fred Astaire, Marlene Dietrich, and Rita Hayworth. I’d prefer a quiet home, and it’d be the cat’s meow if I could be adopted with another "movie-star" kitten. That way we could keep each other company while you’re at work or on vacation. Godzilla #monster-duo-kitty

You are here:
GOOFY, SASSY FELLA

DOB 8/24/19

Howdy everyone! I’m Godzilla, a goofy, sassy, curious, and energetic brown tabby fella who’s proud of my monster-name. I may be a big boy like Godzilla, but I’m a sweet marshmallow at heart. I absolutely LOVE people and the cuddles that we share.

I get along great with the other gentle cats in my foster home as well as a service dog who drops by occasionally. I’m accustomed to the calm and quiet of my foster home, so I’d probably do best in a home without chaos and without kids.

My sisters Mothra and Woobie were found with me as orphan kittens during Tropical Storm Imelda. My foster mom heard my crying on a driveway, and she says that I’ve continued to let everyone know my opinions ever since. I was the runt of my litter and was bottle-fed by my foster family. Boy did I love my bottle!

Those “nursing” sessions ended up being a great time to bond with my humans and probably explain why I’m so sociable with people. The bottle has now been replaced with cat treats, which have probably contributed to my “plus-size.”

If you’re looking for a friendly feline companion who’s past the mayhem of kittenhood, I’m your man! Although I'm available separately, it would be the cat’s meow if I could be adopted with one of my sisters. That way we could keep each other company while you’re at work or on vacation. Arrange to meet me today! I promise to leave tiny paw prints all over your heart.

Hyatt #Mr-Creamsicle

You are here:
A REAL STRING-PLAYER

DOB 10/27/21

Howdy everyone! I’m Hyatt, a sweet, loving, even-tempered, playful cream tabby fella who loves my foster meowmy for rescuing my from a Hyatt Place parking lot. When she picks me up, I affectionately purr sweet nothings in her ear. When she walks in the room, I roll on my side to greet her and to invite a little attention. Occasionally I'll sit in her lap, but true confessions, I usually jump down because, like most teenagers, I’m restless to have a good time.

I absolutely adore playing, whether it’s with string that Foster Meowmy dangles over my head or with my toys that I actively chase and bat and roll around the room. I like the other resident cats and want to play with them, but they hiss at me. Their response leaves me perplexed because, the way I look at it, we could have so much fun together!

Foster Meowmy says that I have that great Marmalade-Cat temperament, so I’d probably be great with well-mannered kids and cat-friendly dogs, even though neither are in my foster home. Arrange to meet me today. My personality is as soft as my Creamsicle color. My heart has a lot of love to give, and all I need is you!

Indy (son of Luna)

You are here:
EASY-GOING LOVEBUG

DOB 9/1/21

Howdy everyone! I’m Indy, a handsome, easy-going black DSH/Bombay mix dude with a sleek, shiny patent-leather coat and big, copper-penny eyes. It took me a while to learn that being petted, chin scratches, and lap time with my foster dad might just be a good thing. My mom Luna led the way, so I started curling up on my foster dad’s warm chest for a quick power nap and discovered that it was pretty delightful.

My favorite pastimes include following my foster dad into the bathroom (Bombay mixes can be very dog-like), looking handsome, and watching the world go by as I bask in a patch of sunshine on a windowsill. My favorite likes are dry food, toys with tassels, and warm beds.

I hope you're not superstitious because, as Groucho Marx said, "A black cat's crossing your path signifies that he's going somewhere." I’m so glad that I came to my HOPE foster home because black cats are five times more likely to be euthanized at a shelter. Most people who adopt black cats once want to adopt one again because of their outstanding personalities and emotional stability.

Arrange to meet me today. Find out if YOUR chest could be my next napping station!

Ivy #zebra-striped-beauty

LOVES TO STEAL THE FEATHER WAND-TOY

DOB 7/11/22

Meow! Meow, everyone! I’m Ivy, a sweet, playful, black-zebra-striped silver tabby gal with big gold eyes. Although I’m not a snuggly lap cat per se, I love it when Foster Meowmy scratches my ears and chin as well as showers me with kisses. I get along great with all hoomans except over-eager children who test my patience, although I’m never mean to them. I also love to play and interact with the other resident and foster cats, and it’d be the cat’s meow to have a kitty companion in my forever home.

I’m courageous because I’m not afraid of the vacuum and because I stand my ground with the resident dogs when they deserve a hiss and a smack. I love to chase crinkle balls, but my penultimate favorite plaything is the feathered wand toy, which I steal and drag off with my tail held high!

Foster Meowmy’s pet sitter found me all alone as a two-month-old kitten in an RV park, where it’s assumed I was dumped or left behind since I was already so sweet, playful, and people-friendly. I hope you’ll arrange to meet me. I just might display my athletic prowess if you dangle that wand toy over my head!

Jeremiah #purr-king

You are here:
LIKES TO PERCH ON SHOULDERS

7/25/22

Meow! Meow, everyone! I’m Jeremiah, a very sweet Turkish Van/DSH mix fella with bunny-soft fur. The “van” color-pattern means that I’m mostly white with orange tabby on my head and tail along with two large tabby spots on my back that the Turks call the thumbprints of God.  I like for Foster Meowmy to put me up on her shoulder so that she can pet me. When I’m very contented and turn on my purr motor, it roars like an outboard motor.

Here’s my rescue story: On Thanksgiving Day, future foster meowmy was visiting a friend at an assisted-living community when she spotted me in the parking lot. I was a four-month old orphan who was approaching each and every person I could and meowing as if to say, “Will you take me home with you and feed me?” Everyone was callously ignoring me as just another kitty dumped in a parking lot.  But Foster Meowmy was different because my plaintiff meows plucked her heartstrings. As I recently heard her describe it, “He was crying! I couldn’t leave him. I gave him a can of food to eat, picked him up, and off we went.”

Well, I think I celebrated Thanksgiving Day 2022 as much as the Pilgrims did in 1621! Once home, I started off being slightly shy because I was used to fending for myself as a homeless orphan at my tender young age. However, all Foster Meowmy’s TLC has paid big dividends, and I’ve continued to warm up more and more since arriving. I like it the way she gets down on my level, puts her friendly hand out, and thereby draws me in with her warm love.

I assimilated easily into the tribe of foster felines. In fact, I really enjoy the fun of playing with the other foster kittens. And the older adults can teach me all the things my feline momma needed to teach me.  I’m actually very happy in my foster home but know it’s best for me to find a home of my own where there’s less competition for Foster Meowmy’s attention. Arrange to meet me so you can guess the decibels on my purr motor!

Joanie #harlequin-lass

SCRATCH MY NECK! OH BOY!

DOB 9/01/21

Mew! Mew, everyone! I'm sweet and loving Joanie, a beautifully-marked "harlequin" gal who's very sociable, easygoing, and undemanding. In case you're not familiar with a "harlequin" cat because we're pretty rare, I'm mostly white with several large patches of black outlined in silver tabby on my head, back, and tail - kind of like a pinto or piebald horse. I'm a sight for sore eyes, if I do say so myself!

Let's see - what are a few of my favorite things?

     *Neck scratches, for one!

*Finding a patch of sunshine on the windowsill so I can sunbathe while I nap.

*Getting myself all comfy in a hidey hole like an enclosed bed or even a box.

You see, I was heavily pregnant when I was found scrounging around for food outside a country Dollar Store in the middle of nowhere. I birthed my three kittens, Maggie, Max, and Oreo, shortly after a HOPE volunteer rescued me and brought me inside her home.

Sometimes I can be a little quiet and shy because I’ve been a bit disrupted by being shifted among several foster homes through no fault of my own. I'd love to luxuriate in the peace and quiet of your home, so come to meet me and become my forever family!

DOB 3/1/21

Well hello everyone! I’m Kiki, a sweet, gentle tuxedo gal who has a very lopsided milk moustache. Although I’m initially shy, once I feel comfortable, I transform into the world’s best snuggler, as my loving foster meowmy can attest.

I don’t like to be alone, so I enjoy the fellowship of the other gentle cats and dogs in my foster home when Foster Meowmy is out. Since I’m a reserved gal, I’d do best in a quiet home. Gentle cats, feline-friendly dogs, and well-behaved older children would all meet with my approval as long as the house remained quiet.

Well hello! I’m KitKat, a sweet-tempered, playful dilute tortoiseshell gal who loves to lounge around with my foster meowmy. If she’s not available, I’ll bask in a patch of sunshine on the windowsill and watch the squirrels and birds and the rest of the world go by.

But I’m no couch potato! No sirree! I can play with the best of them! I love to tumble and pounce, climb and wrestle with the other foster kittens, and when we’re all tuckered out, we’ll collapse in a kitten puddle.

I can entertain myself too with balls with bells, catnip mice, and crinkle toys. I live to hunt and fetch lost toys.

Foster Meowmy says that I’m beautiful AND a real sweetie, so you best waste no time arranging to meet me today. I promise to leave tiny paw prints all over your heart.

BLOSSOMING PERSONALITY

DOB 5/01/22

Mew! Mew, everyone! I’m Lilo, a sweet, cuddly tortoiseshell gal who has really blossomed since I’ve been under my foster meowmy’s care. My brother Luca and I were rescued from a garage parking lot around Labor Day, and I was very quiet and shy at first. I wanted to be petted, but all I could do was look at Foster Meowmy as if to say, “Will you please pet me?”

Now that I feel comfortable in my new surroundings, I meow to ask for her love and attention, although I’m not as vocal and demanding as Luca. By the way, I love to cuddle with Foster Meowmy when I’m not exploring the aquarium.

Luca and I are very fond of each other. We love to cuddle and are often found napping together in a quiet part of the house. We both get along great with the family dog and other resident cats.

Arrange to meet me today.

Little Bobbie #snuggle-girl

RESCUED AS TINY ORPHAN, COVERED IN LEAVES & STICKS

DOB 4/7/22

Hello everyone! I’m Little Bobbie, and I’m an adorable, petite dilute gray tabby kitten with white mittens and locket. Don’t you love my sweet, angelic face?

I was a two-week-old orphan, covered in leaves and sticks, when I was rescued from a field. Neighbors had witnessed dogs chasing away my mother; alas, she never re-appeared. Several cat lovers took me inside and bottle-fed me along with several other bottle-babies, Butch, Sundance, and Violet, who are my same age.

I have so much fun playing with my surrogate siblings. We tumble and pounce, climb and wrestle with each other, and when we’re exhausted from all the fun, we collapse in a kitten puddle. I’d love to be adopted with one of my favorite playmates. That way we can play all day while you work or go on vacation.

I get along great with the 3 resident adult cats and 2 big dogs in my foster home, so there are a lot of households where I would fit like a glove. Arrange to meet me today!

CONFIDENT AND GOOD-NATURED

DOB 8/1/21

Hello everyone! I’m Lizza, a sweet, friendly brown tabby gal with white tuxedo markings and an angelic face. I don’t waste much time getting to know you. I have a great personality as I'm confident and good-natured.

I’m very smart and love exploring my world to find all the good places to play and nap.   I’m beyond the destructive kitten stage and have perfect litterbox and cat-scratcher manners. I’m a pretty green-eyed girl who can't wait to meet you.

Lovie the Lap Cat #perfect-doll

You are here:
DELIGHTFULLY CHARMING & AFFECTIONATE

DOB 1/12/21

Meow! Meow, everyone! I’m Lovie the Lap Cat who wants nothing more than to sit in your lap, gaze up at you with my big, green eyes, and nudge your hand if you stop petting me for even a second! I’m a sweet and petite tortoiseshell gal who doesn’t have an ounce of the typical quirky “tortie-tude” in me! No siree, I’m an affectionate girl who just wants to snuggle in my Foster Meowmy’s lap. And who wouldn’t want to pet me because my fur is as soft as a bunny’s?

I was hanging out in a neighborhood where everyone thought that I was a feral kitty. However, once I was trapped by HOPE volunteers, they quickly realized from my charming, amiable temperament that I was someone’s pet who had gotten misplaced or had been abandoned because of the current financial crisis.

So here I am, needing a new home. You know, there are advantages to adopting a young adult kitty like me who’s past the crazy kitten stage because I won’t cause chaos in your home or break your favorite possessions. Foster Meowmy testifies that I am a very good, affectionate,  and well-behaved gal. The only blip in my perfection is that I enjoy my solitary time and get overwhelmed at being amongst the herd of other foster cats.

So I’m calling all tortie lovers! If you're looking for a delightfully charming and affectionate kitty whose coat is the color of autumn leaves, I’m your girl! This is an easy decision because I have no issues and no quirks. According to my Foster Meowmy, I’m just a perfect doll whose heart has so much love to give that all I need is YOU!

CALICO LAP CUDDLER

DOB 6/27/21

I'm a very sweet. I'm sort of particular I like a quiet home and I prefer women. I like to snuggle right up against my favorite human to sleep. I have to meow about any movement you make once I get snuggled in. I'm not a "hold me squeeze me" kind of snuggle. You just be still and let me love all over you. I have a burgeoning biscuit business and I'll need a couple of nice plump abdomens to kneed out my biscuits on.  I come with my "boppy" because it's my favorite place to nap in the afternoon and I can't live without it.   I'm a super girl who would like to be the only kitty.  I will tolerate and sometimes play with that little overly-happy nuisance Trudy.  She jumps on me and I we wrestle.

BLOSSOMING OUT OF HER SHYNESS

DOB 3/27/22

Hi! I'm Maci, a shy black and white tuxdeo gal who's slowly acclimating to her new environment inside my foster home. As I emerge into my new surroundings, I'm blossoming into a very sweet kitten.

I'm Dash's identical-twin sister, but I have more white on my face. We're part of the Fantastic 7, along with Bang, Bing, Mitz, Blu, Bud, and Maxi. We were born outside, but when our foster meowmy rescued us at one month old, we were brought indoors. It would be the cat's meow if I could be adopted with one of my siblings. That way we could keep each other company while you're at work or on vacation.

Maggie #smoke-tuxedo

LOVES TO LICK HANDS AND FEET

DOB 8/16/22

Mew! Mew, everyone! I’m Maggie, a very quiet, gentle, and sweet gal who’s very uniquely colored because I’m what’s called a “smoke tuxedo.” This means that I’ve got the usual tuxedo markings of a white bib, chin, mittens, and belly, but my black fur has white roots, which can only be seen when my hair follicles are parted. I’m a princess who’s ravishingly beautiful, if I do say so myself.

I’ve got an adorable penchant for licking people’s hands and feet. Of course, I’m always up for pouncing and tumbling, climbing and wrestling with my brothers, Max and Oreo. When I need some alone time away from my rambunctious brothers, I love to nap in the sun.

My momma Joanie was heavily pregnant outside a country Dollar Store in the middle of nowhere when she was rescued by a HOPE volunteer. Just in the nick of time because my litter was born a few days after momma arrived in our foster home!

Sometimes I can be a little quiet and shy because I’ve been a bit disrupted by being shifted among several foster homes through no fault of my own. I’d do best if I were adopted into a quiet home without dogs, other cats, or young children. Arrange to meet me today! Although we're available separately, it'd be the cat's meow if I could be adopted with Max so we could keep each other company while you're at work or on vacation.

"SUCH A CHARACTER"

DOB 8/16/22

Howdy, everyone! I’m Max, and I’m an extremely affectionate, easy-going, friendly “bicolor” fella, which means that I’m black on my head, back, and tail but white on my undercarriage and legs. I also have adorable white cheeks and a white blaze up my nose! Foster Meowmy says that I’m “such a character.” Shucks, just because I’m fearless and get into everything?

Illove to sleep with my foster meowmy as well as spend time in her lap. I’m a cuddly gent, which makes me a wonderful family cat. Dogs? Other cats? Kids? Yeah, bring ‘em on! I’m an alert, curious dude who loves to tumble and pounce, climb and wrestle with my siblings Maggie and Oreo.

My momma Joanie was heavily pregnant outside a country Dollar Store in the middle of nowhere when she was rescued by a HOPE volunteer. Just in the nick of time because my litter was born a few days after momma arrived in our foster home!

DOB 5/1/18

Well hello everyone! I’m Melody, a sweet, gentle black and white bicolor gal who loves to cuddle with my foster meowmy. I’m mostly white with black on my head, torso, and tail. I'm a bit on the plump side, but I pride myself at being a gorgeous plus-size model.

Initially I was shy when I arrived at my foster home, but Foster Meowmy coaxed me out of my shell because I adore head rubs. Now I’m very cuddly and love people! I get along with the other gentle cats and dogs in my foster home. I enjoy climbing in boxes and napping in the kitty hammock.

Miss Kitty #friendly-greeter

You are here:
PENULTIMATE BAG LADY

DOB 4/4/17

Well hello everyone! I’m beautiful Miss Kitty, a loving, curious, playful, and intelligent calico girl who, unlike my “Gunsmoke” namesake, is not a saloon proprietress. I adore my foster meowmy and run to the door to greet her when she comes home. I follow her around the house like a dog. I'm very attached to her because she rescued me from a high-kill shelter, for which I’m very grateful.

I often act more like a kitten than my age. I love to play interactively with string that Foster Meowmy dangles for me, and I have a penchant for jumping in boxes and bags when Foster Meowmy unpacks from a shopping trip. Most of the time I get along great with the other cats in my home, but occasionally they aggravate me. I haven't been around dogs in my foster home, and I'd best stay away from homes with small children who aren't well-behaved.

If you’re looking for a stunning beauty who’s past the stage of kitten mayhem, I’m your girl. Adopting a kitty who’s out of the crazy kitten stage has its advantages. I’d be less likely to cause chaos in your home or break your favorite possessions. My kitty-cat heart has so much love to give, but all I need is you! Arrange to meet me today!

Molly #good-golly-miss

You are here:
SWEET, AFFECTIONATE, & LOVABLE

DOB 5/6/22

Hi, I’m Molly, an incredibly sweet, affectionate, laid-back dilute brown “ticked” tabby girl with large, golden eyes. I’m extremely lovable and adore cuddling in Foster Meowmy’s arms. I was a little unsure about being picked up at first, but once I got comfortable with the procedure, I now turn on my purr motor and totally relax when Foster Meowmy embraces me.

My feral mother birthed my sister Neeno and me in my future Foster Meowmy’s back yard. Once Neeno and I were 5 weeks old and could be weaned, Foster Meowmy brought us inside, where we’ve become little social butterflies.

We fit in great with our foster mates Diamond Girl and Cupcake who are about our age. We have so much fun tumbling and pouncing, climbing and wrestling with each other. When we’re thoroughly exhausted from chasing each other, we collapse in a kitten puddle. Then when we wake up, it’s time for another round of fun!

When I need a “time out” from my fur buddies, I’ll bask in a patch of sunlight on the windowsill and watch the squirrels and birds outside. Foster Meowmy thinks it’s so cute that I make little chirping noises at them!

I am quite capable of entertaining myself too. I love balls with bells, crinkle toys, and wand toys that my foster meowmy dangles over my head. I can play with the ball that goes round and round on the multi-level track for hours.

I hope you’ll arrange to meet me. I want you to test the decibels on my purr motor as I whisper sweet nothings in your ear! But watch out! I just might leave tiny paw prints scattered all over your heart. Although we're available separately, it'd be the cat's meow if I could be adopted with either Cupcake or Diamond Girl.

Molly #retired-kitten-factory

HAS A THUMBPRINT OF GOD ON HER THIGH

DOB 8/31/20

Mew! Mew, everyone! I’m Molly, a lovely and initially shy Turkish Van mix gal who now asks for cuddles and lots of kisses from Foster Meowmy. “Van” means that I’m mostly white with gray tabby on my head and tail. The Turks consider the tabby spot on my right thigh as the thumbprint of God.

I’m so grateful that my foster meowmy brought me home after she found me and my sister Polly roaming the mean Houston streets in search of food and a warm, dry place bed to sleep. She had counted that I’d had five, yes five, litters of kittens, but now she’s “fixed” me so that won’t ever happen again!

Once inside my foster home, I learned that I could lower my guard and not always be poised for danger or predators. As I started feeling safe and secure in my new surroundings, my timidity slowly melted away, especially since Foster Meowmy is the purveyor of yummy food. I like to spend my day smugly gazing out the window at the birds and squirrels, not to mention people walking their dogs; I’m smug because I know that my hardscrabble outdoor life is a thing of the past!

Arrange to meet me! By the way, you know that there are advantages of adopting a kitty like me who’s past the crazy kitten stage. There’s always a lot less chaos and breakage of favorite possessions!

Mothra #monster-duo-kitty

You are here:
SWEET TALKER

DOB 8/24/19

Well hello everyone! I’m Mothra, a smart, gregarious, curious brown tabby "princess" with white tuxedo markings. I was named after a giant flying moth that was a popular "heroic" monster in horror films. I absolutely LOVE people and the cuddles that we share. I’m a “talker” who chirps and trills for everyone when I greet them, and then I plop down to receive a good belly rub.

I get along great with the other gentle cats in my foster home as well as a service dog who drops by occasionally. I’m accustomed to the calm and quiet of my foster home, so I’d probably do best in a home without chaos and without kids.

My siblings Godzilla and Woobie were found with me as orphan kittens during Tropical Storm Imelda. Although I'm available separately, i would be the cat’s meow if I could be adopted with one of my siblings so we could keep each other company while you’re at work or on vacation.

If you’re looking for a beautiful, chatty princess who’s past the mayhem of kittenhood, I’m your girl! Arrange to meet me today! I promise to leave tiny paw prints all over your heart.

Nicki (sister of Chrissie)

You are here:
REGAL BLACK BEAUTY

DOB 10/1/17

Hi everyone! I’m Nicki, a sweet, quiet, affectionate, beautiful, black DSH/Bombay mix gal with a sleek, shiny patent-leather coat and copper-penny eyes. I'm a "Velcro" cat because I like to sit quietly beside my foster meowmy while she works from home. That's just in case she stops for a break and gives me a scratch on the ear or a pet on top of my head. I luxuriate when she brushes my glossy coat.

I'm a bit plump because I tip the scales at about 13 pounds, but I pride myself at being an elegant plus-size model. I have a lot of extra skin that's soft and squishy, and I adore when Foster Meowmy scratches it. I've never been around kids or dogs, but I get along great with the other cats and kittens in my foster home.

My sister Chrissie and I were rescued from dumpster-diving at an apartment complex in southwest Houston. My favorite parts of the day are treat time and when I get my turn in the hammock. Like human sisters, Chrissie and I argue over whose turn it is for lying in the hammock and getting an even share of the treats.

Hopefully you're not superstitious because, as Groucho Marx said, "A black cat's crossing your path signifies that he's going somewhere." I’m so glad that I was brought to my HOPE foster home instead of a shelter because black cats are five times more likely to be euthanized at a shelter. Most people who adopt black cats once want to adopt one again because of our outstanding personalities and emotional stability.

Although Chrissie and I are available separately, it’d be the cat’s meow if we could be adopted together. That way we’d keep each other company while you’re at work or on vacation. If you're looking for a regal black panther who's past the stage of kitten mayhem, I'm your girl! Arrange to meet me (and Chrissie, for that matter!) today!

ATTENTION HOG!

DOB 4/9/22

Howdy! I’m Parker, a dapper tuxedo fella who’s bold and playful. Don’t I have the most adorable bright pink (flesh) and white (fur) nose that you’ve ever seen? I love to be the center of attention and get jealous when everyone’s not focused on me! I have a habit of wrapping myself around my foster meowmy’s ankles.

My favorite part of the day is when she engages me with the wand toy! Boy howdy, can I jump and chase those feathers! I love to cuddle with both the foster kittens and the resident cats. Sometimes I’m Mr. Mischief because I hog all the toys!

My four siblings and I were born to our mama in foster care just a week after she was rescued off the streets of southwest Houston.  My favorite brother Phineas and I tumble and pounce, climb and wrestle, and when we’re thoroughly exhausted, we collapse in a kitten puddle. It would be the cat's meow if I could be adopted with Parker. That way we could keep each other company while you're at work or on vacation.

CUDDLY FLUFF BALL

DOB 12/1/18

Hi everyone! I'm Penguin, a sweet, gentle, albeit prissy medium-haired tuxedo gal who’s a big fluff ball with a splendid plume of a tail. Don't you love my beautifully marked face that resembles the half-masked face of Drama?

I LOVE people and the cuddles that we share. When I’m situated near my foster meowmy, I usually make biscuits as well as snuggle with her. But I’m no couch potato! No sirree! I love to play with my foster-kitty-mates Godzilla, Mothra, and Woobie as well as when my foster meowmy dangles the wand toy over my head. I can also entertain myself with balls with bells, catnip mice, and crinkle balls.

I get along great with the other gentle resident cats in my foster home as well as a service dog who drops by occasionally. I'm accustomed to the calm and quiet of my foster home, so I'd probably do best in a home without chaos and without kids.

I was rescued from a cat colony where I was struggling for my next meal. Foster Meowmy realized that I was too social to be feral, so she welcomed me into her home, where I’ve adjusted very well to its indoor comforts. I’m so grateful that my hardscrabble days as a stray cat are over!

Although I'm available separately, it would be the cat's meow if I could be adopted with Godzilla, Mothra, or Woobie so we could keep each other company while you're at work or on vacation. If you're looking for a prissy ball of fluff who's past the mayhem of kittenhood, I'm your girl! Arrange to meet me today! I promise to leave tiny paw prints all over your heart.

PLAYFUL CUDDLER

DOB 4/9/22

Howdy! Phineas is my name, and I'm a sweet, playful brown ticked tabby with green-yellow eyes and beautiful spots on my tummy. I just love to be held and cuddled by my foster meowmy. I have an unusual meow, and I can be quite vocal at meal time. Sometimes I meow to my foster meowmy from another room, and when she checks on me, there’s nothing wrong. I have her wrapped around my little paw.

My four siblings and I were born to our mama in foster care just a week after she was rescued off the streets of southwest Houston. At first I was the runt of the litter, but now I've caught up with the rest of them. What I lack in size, I make up in personality.

I get along great with both the foster kittens and the resident adult cats. My favorite brother Parker and I tumble and pounce, climb and wrestle, and when we’re thoroughly exhausted, we collapse in a kitten puddle. It would be the cat's meow if I could be adopted with Parker. That way we could keep each other company while you're at work or on vacation.

LOVES CUDDLES AND KISSES

DOB 8/31/20

Mew! Mew, everyone! I’m Polly, a very sweet and slightly shy gray gal with white tuxedo markings who loves cuddles, chin or ear scratches, and lots of kisses from Foster Meowmy. I’m so grateful that she brought me home after she found me and my sister Molly roaming the mean Houston streets in search of food and a warm, dry place bed to sleep.

Once inside my foster home, I learned that I could lower my guard and not always be poised for danger or predators. As I started feeling safe and secure in my new surroundings, my timidity slowly melted away. Once I got to know Foster Meowmy as the purveyor of yummy food, I even started letting her pick me up occasionally, which not all kitties will allow.

Consequently, I’m spreading my love all around me! I’ve got an adorable quirk of drinking water from the sink at every opportunity! My kitty-cat heart has so much love to give, but all I need is you! Arrange to meet me today!

By the way, you know that there are advantages of adopting a kitty like me who’s past the crazy kitten stage. There’s always a lot less chaos and breakage of favorite possessions.

Prince Harry #easy-going-and-adaptable

NOTHING RUFFLES HIS FEATHERS

DOB 5/13/22

Meow! Meow, everyone! I’m Prince Harry, an extremely affectionate, quiet, well-behaved, and handsome Turkish Van mix fella whose favorite places are to be are cuddled in my foster meowmy’s lap or snuggled next to her in bed. “Van” means that I’m mostly white with orange tabby on my head, tail, and back. The Turks would say that the spots on my back are the thumbprints of God.

I’m such a laid-back boy that I would get along with any age of hoomans, including small children as well as seniors. Not much ruffles my feathers. Plus my submissive temperament helps me get long great with the other cats in my foster home, and I'd probably be fine with cat-friendly dogs.

I came into foster care because a HOPE volunteer heard “through the grapevine” that someone was going to move out of his apartment but leave behind his two kittens to run loose in the complex. This abandonment of furry family members is happening a lot because of the current inflationary financial crisis, through no fault of the animals. Thank heavens a foster home was available for me to join!

If you like red-headed felines, I’m your red man! I’d fit like a glove into many households because I’m so amiable, adaptable, and easygoing. Please arrange to meet me. I promise to leave paw prints all over your heart. I have so much love to give – all I need is you!

LOVES CUDDLES AND PETS

DOB 5/24/21

Mew! Mew, everyone! I’m Princess, a sweet  torbie or “patched tabby,” which means that I’m a brown tabby gal who looks like caramel has been splashed on me in a candy factory. I love it when Foster Meowmy cuddles me and scratches my chin or ears. Like many kitties, I don’t like to be picked up.

I had belonged to someone who dumped me at my foster meowmy’s house right after I was spayed. It hurt my feelings to be rejected, but Foster Meowmy’s TLC and yummy wet food have helped heal my heart. I like my new home better anyway, and I’m grateful to be an indoor-only kitty now.

When I get on my cat tree to take a nap, I like to look out the window at the squirrel and birds as well as the people walking their dogs, and I’m delighted that the hardscrabble life is in my rear-view mirror! Arrange to meet me today! I may be a little shy at our meet and greet, but once I get to know you too, I’ll love for you to cuddle and pet me!

HAS THUMBPRINT OF GOD ON HER NOSE

DOB 8/1/21

Hi there! I’m Pusa, a sweet, affectionate, people-friendly Turkish Van mix gal who’s mostly white with black on my head and tail. Don’t you just love the adorable smudge on my nose as well as my beautiful amber eyes? When there's a spot on a van like I have on my nose, Turks consider this to be the thumbprint of God.

I absolutely love to be around my foster meowmy. In fact, I’d prefer to spend time with her instead of my fellow felines because I was raised as a solo kitty. I’m perfectly happy to entertain myself by playing with my toys or exploring my environment. I’d get along with other friendly kitties in my new home as long as it’s a quiet home.

Since I’m such a people-cat, I can’t imagine anyone who wouldn’t want a sweet, whimsically marked beauty like me to be their companion. Arrange to meet me today and give me a chance to share the good life with YOU!

LAID-BACK TEDDY BEAR

DOB 12-25-19

R2D2 couldn't be more handsome or laid-back. This teddy-bear-like kitty has a compact body and the softest fur. R2D2 was picked up by animal control as a stray with a clipped ear. He was just too sweet to continue to spend his life outside trying to fend for himself.

This black guy loves to just chill out on the back of the couch watching the world go by. He's not a fan of dogs but tolerates other cats. Even though he tested positive for FIV, R2D2 has been extremely healthy and hasn't shown any problems using the litter box. R2D2 would love to find his forever home. Will you open your heart to him?

Rakki #lucky-boy

LIKES TO RIDE ON MEOWMY'S SHOULDER

DOB 4/9/22

Meow, meow everyone! I’m Rakki, an affectionate, friendly, easygoing, playful brown tabby fella who likes to ride on my foster meowmy’s shoulder. My name means “luck” in Japanese, and I was very fortunate to be rescued as a tiny orphan kitten from a Jack-in-the-Box drive-through. I don’t even like to think how I could’ve gotten . . . well, I won’t say it, but you know what cars do to outdoor kitties.

Boy howdy! I was relieved to be brought inside my foster home. The adult kitties stepped up like champs and taught me all the things my mama hadn’t had a chance to teach me. Because I got so much attention and cuddling as a bottle-baby, I’m very fond of and affectionate with people as a result. My happy foster home life just proves that “every cloud has a silver lining.”

I’m quite the talker. Foster Meowmy says that I’m an outspoken supervisor of humans. I do like to chat with her about my day as well as remind her when it’s supper time. I tend to follow the resident adult cats around, and I have so much fun playing with the other foster kittens. We tumble and pounce, climb and wrestle, and when we’re thoroughly exhausted, we collapse in a kitten puddle.

I hope you’ll arrange to meet me because I’m just plain fun to be around. You need to experience me for yourself. It would be great if I could be adopted with another fur buddy so somebody could keep me company while you’re at work or on vacation. Arrange to meet me today! I just might give you a hug while I ride on your shoulder!

Raven #park-five-kitten

You are here:
LOVING, ELEGANT BEAUTY

DOB 8/16/22

Mew, Mew, everyone! I’m Raven, and I am a ravin’ black-furred beauty, if I may say so myself. I'm a Bombay mix with fur as sleek and shiny as black patent leather. I’m a gentle, affectionate gal who loves to give nose kisses, cuddle in my foster meowmy’s lap, and sit on her shoulder.

But I’m not just eye candy! No sirree! Although I’m tiny, I’m an excellent jumper. I love to show off my athletic prowess by soaring through the air to capture my “prey” when Foster Meowmy waves the feather wand toy in the air. I love to tumble and pounce, climb and wrestle with my four siblings, Lolli, Lemi, Mocha, and Pooki. When we’re exhausted, we collapse in a kitten puddle. I’m particularly bonded to my sister Mocha, and we groom each other in our quiet times.

When we were about a month old, the five of us in my litter were rescued “just in time” from a park by our foster parents. Actually Lemi and Pooki had ventured outside of the park and were dangerously close to a very busy road near-by. At our tender “kitten” age, we’re grateful not to have to navigate the cruel Houston streets any more. We acclimated beautifully to the amenities of indoor living and have all made friends with the resident cat and dog.

I’m now ready for my forever home. If you’re looking for an elegant, friendly, and loving kitten, I’m your girl! Arrange to meet me, and I just may sit on your shoulder to get better acquainted with you. Although we’re available separately, it would be the cat’s meow if I could be adopted with one of my siblings.

Hopefully you're not superstitious because, as Groucho Marx said, "A black cat's crossing your path signifies that he's going somewhere." Black cats are five times more likely to be euthanized at a shelter. Most people who adopt black cats once want to adopt one again because of our outstanding personalities and emotional stability.

AFFECTIONATE BLACK BEAUTY

DOB 5/1/22

Hello, cheri. I’m Rita Hayworth, a very affectionate, loving, and gorgeous black DSH/Bombay mix gal with a soft, sleek black fur coat and copper-penny eyes. Bombay mixes are often called Velcro kitties because they like to stick so close to their hooman, and that describes me to a “T.” I love sitting with Foster Meowmy while she watches Netflix and snuggling next to her in her bed. Because I'm so people-friendly, I'd be great in a home with kids.

Along with Fred Astaire, Ginger Rogers, and Marlene Dietrich, I’m one of the “movie-star” litter of kittens. After a proper introductory period, I started getting along great with the other foster kitties too. When I need some solitary time, I love to climb up the cat tree and either watch the birds or meticulously groom my beautiful fur.

Arrange to meet me soon. Although I’d be fine as an only kitty-child, if you want a pair of kittens, consider also adopting another "movie-star" kitten so we could keep each other company while you're at work or on vacation.

Rosalita #purr-queen

You are here:
PET ME! PET ME!

DOB 5/21/22

Mew! Mew, everyone! I’m Rosalita, a sweet, gentle dilute calico gal who luxuriates when Foster Meowmy pets me! That’s when I turn on my purr machine, which usually sounds like a perking coffeepot and sometimes like a roaring outboard motor. I’m affectionate with Foster Meowmy but a little shy with strangers until I get to know them.

I have an exciting rescue story. When I was about 3 month old, I was hiding under a car in the ghetto because a big dog was circling and looking for an opportunity to get me. Fortunately, this attracted the attention of my future foster meowmy; her friend distracted the dog while Foster Meowmy grabbed me and brought me home to safety.

It’s been heavenly ever since – safe from predators, safe from temperature extremes, safe from weather inclemencies, safe from cars. I fit in quite naturally with the other foster cats. In fact, we get along great, and since I’m an orphan, they have taught me the manners that my feline momma wasn’t around to teach me.

I couldn’t be happier than in my foster home, although I know it’s best for me to be in a forever home where there’s less feline competition for Foster Meowmy’s attention. Arrange to meet me today so you can guess the decibels on my purr motor! My heart has so much love to give, all I need is YOU!

Scratchypants #very-affectionate

You are here:
PICK ME UP AND HOLD ME!

DOB 3/1/22

Mew! Mew, everyone! I’m Scratchypants, a super-sweet, easy-going, affectionate soft-gray tabby girl who loves to snuggle with my foster meowmy. When she scratches behind my ears or under my chin, I turn on my purr machine, which roars like an outboard motor. I’m one of those rare kitties who even likes to be picked up and held!

I have some favorite stuffed animal friends, and I go crazy over catnip-infused toys. When I’m in a solitary mood, I enjoy sitting in a patch of sunlight on the window sill so I can watch the birds outside. I get along with the older, cat-friendly resident dog but haven't socialized with the resident cats because I usually run off when they confront me; however Foster Meowmy thinks I'd do fine with other cats if the proper-introduction protocols were observed.

I guess you’re wondering why I have such an unusual name. It’s mostly because I do a little “dance” while I tear into the scratching post. No, I don’t scratch people, but I just enthusiastically like a good scratching post. Actually, I was first christened Weirdo McScratchypants by a homeless man who had rescued me from being stuck between some large barrels behind a shopping center. I was a six-week-old orphan kitten who’d never been taught by my momma how to be a cat. He started feeding me and noticed that I had a few weird quirks, i.e. meowing while I ate and growling like I was revving my engine when I got the zoomies.

My future foster meowmy eventually entered the picture and realized that I needed to be fixed so I wouldn’t have kittens, and the homeless man helped her catch me. When I was recovering from spay surgery in Foster Meowmy’s home, she realized that I was very affectionate and would purr any time she entered the room. She decided that I was much too well socialized to be put back outside, so she decided to foster me so that HOPE could find me a wonderful forever home.

If you’re in the market for a white-noise machine to conquer your insomnia, I’m your girl! Arrange to meet me, and I promise to leave paw prints all over your heart. I have so much love to give – all I need is you!

Shya & Tigger Jr. (bonded pair)

You are here:
LOVE HUMANS AND EACH OTHER

DOB 4/20/22

Meow! Meow, everyone! We’re Tigger Junior and Shya, a bonded brother-and-sister pair of red tabbies. When we say bonded, we mean really bonded: we eat, play, and sleep together. I (Tiger) like to protect me (Shya), and we’re inseparable. We even use the litter box together at the same time, even though two are provided.

We chase each other around the room until we're exhausted, and that's when we settle down for some petting from our foster meowmy or some snuggly catnapping together. And boy howdy! We love it when Foster Meowmy waves the wand toy over our heads so we can show off our jumping prowess as we stab at our "prey."

When we were about 10 weeks old, our feline momma brought us into our future foster meowmy's back yard in search of a steady food supply. Thankfully, Foster Meowmy took in our family, including our momma, to help us find a better life. It didn't take much to convince us that an indoor climate was very much preferred to Houston's scorching summer heat.

Tiger Jr. says, “I’m a sweet, friendly, outgoing, and playful cream tabby fella who just loves attention from my hoomans. Although I'm not a lap cat per se, I love to snuggle up next to my foster meowmy's legs and sleep beside her while she's watching TV or napping. I'm almost dog-like in the way I greet my foster meowmy at the door with a little bounce, and then I stand on my hind legs to make sure she knows that I want to be petted. Call me her shadow, but I follow her all around the house just to see what she's up to."

Shya says, “I got my moniker because I'm shyer. I used to hide behind Tigger Jr. when I first met my foster family, but now I curl up next to Foster Meowmy and make biscuits when she pets me. Sweet, peaceful, and affectionate, I'm a petite little girl, and that makes me special because red tabby girls are rare."

If you're looking for a sweet, friendly bonded pair of red tabby kittens who love to cuddle with our hoomans as well as each other, pick us! Not only do we hate to be apart anyway, we could keep each other company while you're at work or on vacation.

Shya (bonded to Tigger Jr)

SNUGGLING BISCUIT-MAKER

DOB 4/20/22

Hi! My name is Shya, and I got my moniker because I am the shyest in my litter of three red tabbies. I used to hide behind my brothers when I first met my foster family, but now I curl up next to Foster Meowmy and make biscuits when she pets me. Sweet, peaceful, and affectionate, I’m the smallest and the only girl, and that makes me special because red tabby girls are rare.

I love to tumble and pounce, climb and wrestle with my twin brother, Tigger Junior, with whom I’m particularly bonded. We chase each other around the room until we’re exhausted, and that’s when we settle down for some petting from our foster meowmy or some snuggly catnapping together.

I can entertain myself too -- especially with soft balls and catnip mice. And boy howdy! I love it when Foster Meowmy waves the wand toy over my head so I can show off my jumping prowess as I stab at my “prey.” I also have perfect scratching-post manners, which is a little exercise in itself.

When my brothers and I were about 10 weeks old, my feline momma brought us into my future foster meowmy’s back yard in search of a steady food supply. Foster Meowmy first managed to take my momma and one brother inside, and later my other brother and I were finally convinced that an indoor climate was very much preferred to Houston’s scorching summer heat. What a good decision!!

If you're looking for a sweet, quiet kitty who loves cuddles, I’m your girl! Since Tigger Jr. and I are inseparable, Foster Meowmy is insisting that we only be adopted together. That works out great for you because we could keep each other company while you're at work or on vacation.

Simon #pick-me-up-and-hold-me

You are here:
AFFECTIONATE AND NOT SHY WITH STRANGERS

DOB 4/8/18

Hi everyone! My name is Simon, and I’m a sweet, friendly, affectionate, and playful brown tabby fella with gorgeous jade-green eyes. I have short legs, so I look adorable when I walk. (I may have a little Munchkin-cat blood coursing through my veins.)

I love spending time with my foster family, and I’m not shy at all about meeting new people. I’m so laid-back that I’m one of those rare kitties who doesn’t mind being handled or picked up.

I luxuriate when my foster meowmy puts her forehead onto mine and give me kisses. Getting my head petted and chin scratched are right up there as “tops” in my book. On the other hand, getting my tummy rubbed is not so pleasant (as many other kitties will agree), so I’ll gently soft-paw Foster Meowmy to tell her to stop.

Usually I’m a quiet kitty who minds my own business, but then again sometimes I can be very talkative. Foster Meowmy thinks I’ve got a cute, sweet voice that’s like a chirping meow.

I was rescued from a rough life on the streets, so I welcomed the brand-new indoor amenities of my “donut” bed as well as wand toys and balls with bells. I like to bask in a sunbeam on the windowsill as I watch the squirrels and birds outside.

I’m lucky in that I won’t ever have to fight to survive a hardscrabble life of a street-stray ever again. I’m not so lucky in that I contracted FIV (feline immunodeficiency virus), probably from a deep bite wound from an intact male cat. (Unlike Feline Leukemia, FIV is NOT passed on “casually” by sharing food bowls and litter boxes with other household cats.) Being FIV positive means that I should live an average life span as long as special attention is routinely given to my dental health and prompt attention is given to secondary infections of the urinary tract or upper respiratory system.

I get along pretty well with other cats as well as the small dogs in my foster home, but it would be just fine if I were the only cat. Incidentally, I have perfect litter box and scratching-post manners.

Foster Meowmy says that I’m very resilient from my stint as stray and that I’m “the sweetest cat in the whole world.” She thinks I would really make anyone happy. I’m just looking for a place to call my own and where I can soak up all the love and attention that can be showered on me. Could you be the forever family I’ve been waiting for?

GORGEOUS FELINE SUPER-MODEL

DOB 6/1/21

Mew! Mew, everyone! I’m Snow White and the 7 Dots, a very sweet, loving, affectionate, and well-behaved dilute calico/harlequin gal. In case you're not familiar with a "harlequin" cat because we're pretty rare, I'm mostly white with multiple patches of orange and gray tabby on my head, torso, and tail - kind of like a pinto or piebald horse. I'm exquisitely beautiful, if I do say so myself! Plus I look like a feline super-model with my slender, long legs.

My kittens, Jack and Jill, and I were turned into to a high-kill county shelter, but fortunately my foster meowmy rescued us from death row. It was obvious from the moment I was brought to my foster home that I’d been someone’s pet because I’m so sweet-natured and well- socialized. And I fit in beautifully with the other foster cats, which is another real bonus.

You know, there are advantages to adopting a kitty who’s past the destructive kitten stage because I won’t cause chaos or break your treasured possessions. Arrange to meet me today! My heart has so much love to give – all I need is you!

Sparkler (sister of Freedom)

You are here:
GAL WITH THE CROOKED HALO

DOB 7/4/21

Hi everyone! I’m Sparkler, and I’m a quirky, funny, and very loving dilute tortoiseshell gal who got my name because I was born on the Fourth of July. I’m a regular Marco Polo in that I’m a fearless explorer -- there is no box, no open drawer, no perch, no tub that I won't explore. I’m also a bit mischievous as I like to ambush people and animals by jumping out at them when they are most distracted. I may have a crooked halo, but my crazy antics are good for at least one laugh a day for my foster family of humans.

I’ve got the typical “tortie-tude” because I was the one who decided when and if I wanted my foster meowmy’s attention. After I concluded that foster meowmy is okay, she’s totally fallen in love with me. Nevertheless, I reign on my “subjects,” i.e. the humans and other resident and foster animals, usually from a high perch like the cat tree.

My feral mama birthed my brother Freedom and me on foster meowmy’s front porch. Foster Meowmy brought us all inside, and after Freedom and I were weaned, she spayed and released Mama, although in the meantime she’s found a home with a neighbor.

It’s been fun ever since I came inside my foster home, but I know that I need to find a forever home of my own. Although available separately, Sparkler and I think it would be the cat's meow if we could be adopted together. That way we can keep each other company while you're at work or on vacation.

Arrange to meet me and find out for yourself that I’m well named because of my sparkling personality. Let’s share some laughs together about my quirky antics! I'm ready to start my new rap sheet of crimes at YOUR house!

Susannah

You are here:
SWEET KITTY LOOKING FOR COMPANIONSHIP

DOB 5/1/22

Susannah was a street-cat wandering aimlessly because she was abandoned and left behind by her dead-beat owner when the family moved. The luckiest break Susannah ever had was when she was taken inside by a HOPE foster mom and received some much-needed vetting.

Susannah’s relieved that she has kissed the hardscrabble life away! She doesn't have to search for food every day, and she appreciates the regular meals and a safe place to sleep.

She loves playing with other cats and dogs or just chilling with her foster family on the couch. Susannah would love to have another animal friend in her new home or lots of love from her new family

Tallie #thumbprint-of-God

LOVES TO RECLINE ON A PILLOW LIKE CLEOPATRA

DOB 3/3/22

Hello! I’m sweet, beautiful Tallie, a medium-haired Turkish Van mix gal. I'm called a "van" because I'm mostly white with black markings on my head and tail. The Turks call it the thumbprint of God when a van has a spot on her back like I do. Who knows if Turkish Van blood is coursing through my veins without a DNA test, but if you're looking for a cat who "looks like" a Turkish Van, I'm your girl. For sure, I'm the best breed of all -- RESCUE!

My mother Trudy along with me and by three siblings were left in an apartment alone when our family moved out.  Luckily the maintenance man came a few days later and rescued us!

My sister Taffie and I like to play the "beautiful cats on the pillow" game – that is whenever we’re not wrestling each other over a feather toy.

I love my foster home and my nurturing foster meowmy, but I’m ready to write a new chapter in my life – starring you! I’m anxious to learn that my adopter can be kind. I hope you’ll arrange to meet me today.

Tango #warm-and-friendly

You are here:
"MOST WONDERFUL OF KITTENS"

DOB 4/7/22

Howdy everyone! I’m Tango, a loving and mellow yet funny and lively red tabby fella with a warm personality and a great sense of humor. Foster Meowmy describes me as “the most wonderful of kittens who deserves an A+ home.”

I was found as an orphan in the street next to a pile of debris in the Lindale area. I fit right into my foster home where there were several other rescued kittens who were my same age, although we‘re not related.

I have so much fun playing with my surrogate siblings. We tumble and pounce, climb and wrestle with each other, and when we’re thoroughly exhausted from all the fun, we collapse in a kitten puddle.

It would be the cat’s meow if I could be adopted with one of my foster mates Butch, Sundance, Little Bobbie, or Violet. I’d be happy to give you an extra kiss because we could keep each other company while you’re at work or on vacation.

I get along great with the 3 resident adult cats and 2 big dogs in my foster home, so there are a lot of households where I would fit like a glove. Arrange to meet me today! You'll fall in love with me the second you meet me. I'm all ready to settle into my A+ new home!

STUNNING CLASSIC TABBY

DOB 12/01/20

Meow! Meow, everyone! I’m Tara, a lovely, sweet, beautiful brown Classic tabby with marble swirls on my sides, and I’d love to become your new best friend. I crave human attention and follow my foster meowmy around just in case I can get a head rub from her. I can take a hint, though, if she’s busy with other activities, and I’ll go off on my own to sit quietly watching birds from the window or on the cat tree.

I was found with my kittens, Tatum and Tessa, at a very busy carwash in East Downtown. Thank heavens a Good Samaritan brought us all to our HOPE foster home. Now that I've weaned my kittens, I'm ready for a home of my own. Since I had to be protective of my babies, I’m very selective of allowing other kitties to be my buddy.

Arrange to meet me today because I’d adore to become your best forever friend and receive all your loving attention.

HOPE ID 22-0601-G120

Tigger Jr (bonded to Shya)

You are here:
LOVES ATTENTION AND PETTING

DOB 4/20/22

Meow! Meow, everyone!  I’m Tigger Junior, a sweet, friendly, outgoing, and playful "mocha" cream tabby fella who just loves attention from my hoomans. Although I’m not a lap cat per se, I love to snuggle up next to my foster meowmy’s legs and sleep beside her while she’s watching TV or napping.

I’m almost dog-like in the way I greet my foster meowmy at the door with a little bounce, and then I stand on my hind legs to make sure she knows that I want to be petted. Call me her shadow, but I follow her all around the house just to see what she’s up to.

Like my namesake, I can be bouncy and full of joy – especially when someone is waving the wand toy over my head. Boy howdy! I love to show off my prowess by jumping to catch the “prey.” I’m inquisitive and can make a toy of almost anything that I find. Even though I’m the color of a mocha frappuccino, I have orange-cat energy. Sometimes I get the zoomies and chase my sweet sister Shya around the room, and then we collapse in a kitten puddle when we’re exhausted.

When my brother, sister, and I were about 10 weeks old, my feline momma brought us into my future foster meowmy’s back yard in search of a steady food supply. Thankfully, Foster Meowmy took in my family of four to help us find a better life. It didn’t take much to convince me that an indoor climate was very much preferred to Houston’s scorching summer heat.

If you’re looking for an energetic kitten who also loves to cuddle, I’m your boy! I'm developed a very strong bond with my twin sister Shya, so Foster Meowmy is insisting that we only be adopted together. That works out great for you because we can keep each other company while you're at work or on vacation.

Arrange to meet me today as I’d love to be the one waiting at the door for you to get home and play wand toy with me! You know Margaret Mead once said, “One of the oldest human needs is having someone to wonder where you are when you don’t come home at night.” See? I could be a wonderful furry friend who could fulfill your needs too!

Tommy #awesome-dude

You are here:
MR. ULTIMATE CONGENIALITY

DOB 1/21/21

Howdy! I’m Tommy, and I’m a very affectionate, friendly, gentle, talkative black-and-white bicolor fella who absolutely loves everyone. You name it – adults, toddlers, dogs, puppies, cats, kittens, and even strangers. Nothing – even the smoke alarm – fazes me.

My foster meowmy just thinks I’m awesome because I’m the friendliest cat she’s ever had. My congenial personality even wins over people who don’t otherwise like cats. She thinks I’m so adorable because I welcome (human) guests as well as new foster animals. Because so many cats can be real curmudgeons, I guess it’s rather unique that I’m nice to everyone.

I love to get my share of attention as well as food. Mealtime is my favorite part of the day, and I greet Foster Meowmy every morning by chirping, “Is it breakfast time?” I may lead her to the pantry door where the canned food is kept.

I’ve been known to follow Foster Meowmy around like a dog. When I sit against the wall or sofa and stretch out my paws to her, she knows I’m trying to get her attention.

I’m also playful with balls with bells, catnip mice, and wand toys. I play big brother to a lot of the little kittens by teaching them how to enjoy the cat tree, scratching post, and soft beds. When I’m not serving as the Host with the Most, I’ll spend a few quiet moments by the window to watch the squirrels or people passing by.

Foster Meowmy has nothing but superlatives to say about me: “We love Tommy very much . . . He’s the perfect kitty out of all of them. . . He’d be the greatest addition to anyone’s home.”

Even though I love it in my foster home, I know it’s best that I have a forever home of my own. I’d fit like a glove in many households since I’d adjust so easily to a loving family and other friendly animals. Arrange to meet me today!

LIFE OF THE PARTY

DOB: 7/9/22

You there! You!  I'm Trudy!  I'm the life of the party! This house will be BORING without me. Explore my awesomeness. I LOVE to fetch! I NEED fetch play time. I'll bring you my toys to get you to play fetch. Right now I'm at a 100% launch rate to go get it. I'm currently at a 90% retrieval rate on the little yellow moon and 70% on the fruit mice. I have a toy budget of $8 a month, so you'll need to keep my toy money in the black in order to adopt me.

Sometimes I like to get crazy and try to take a shower with you. I like the clear vinyl shower curtain liners so I can see why in the world you're in the water! Then I might need to climb the outer cloth shower curtain just because I'm entertaining like that. Either way you need a sturdy shower curtain.

I'm absolutely delightful, and everything I do is cute. I love people, but I'm especially good at pestering the older cats. They hate it, but I don't care! I make them play with me. I can be a little talker when it comes to play time or food; other than that I'm pretty quiet.

PLAYFUL VALENTINE'S DAY KITTY

DOB 2/14/22

Well hello! I'm Valerie, a friendly, social, gentle, and curious black domestic short hair/Bombay mix gal who has a sleek, shiny black patent-leather coat. I got my name because I was born around Valentine’s Day.

I love people, and Bombay mix kittens are often called “Velcro” cats because we stick so closely to our humans. I'm not as mischievous as some kittens, but I'm certainly rank with the best explorers. Just call me Marco Polo.

Come meet me, the Valentine Day's kitty, today.

Willa #super-8-kitten

You are here:
GIRL WITH A FOOT FETISH

DOB 5/20/22

Well, hello! My name is Willa, and I’m a very sweet, cuddly black DSH/Bombay mix girl with a sleek, shiny patent-leather coat who likes to cuddle next to my foster meowmy. I have several unique idiosyncrasies. One: I like to groom people as well as my seven litter mates. Two: I like to play with people’s feet and shoes when they walk into a room or when they just stand there. During my quiet “time out” moments, I enjoy basking in a sunbeam on the window sill to watch the birds and lizards.

I was the runt of my litter, but I’m quickly catching up. Plus I’m not short on energy when it comes to playing with my siblings as I keep up with the best of them. We tumble and pounce, climb and wrestle with each other, and when we're exhausted from all the fun, we collapse in a kitten puddle.

My litter of eight was rescued from an abusive, neglectful situation, so we're grateful to have transitioned from hardscrabble beginnings to a loving, caring HOPE foster home. We live with three resident adult cats and two large resident dogs. I like the other cats just fine, but I only coexist with the dogs.

I definitely need to be in a home with other cats or kittens. I think it'd be the cat's meow if I could be adopted with one of my littermates (Dixie, LIzzie, or Carlie) or another one of my foster mates. That way we can keep each other company while you're at work or on vacation.

Hopefully you're not superstitious because, as Groucho Marx said, "A black cat's crossing your path signifies that he's going somewhere." Most people who adopt black cats once want to adopt one again because of their outstanding personalities and emotional stability.

Woobie #your-furry-security-blanket

SPUNKY CUDDLEBUG

DOB 8/24/19

Hi everyone! I’m Woobie, a spunky, funny, entertaining Turkish Van mix gal who’s mostly white with black on my head and tail. Don’t you love my white blaze running up my nose? Because I’m such a snuggler, I was named after the child’s security blanket popularized in the movie “Mr. Mom.”

I’m a lap cat extraordinaire. I absolutely LOVE people and the cuddles that we share. I'm full of zany antics and have a plucky attitude. I’ll bunny-kick a stuffed animal and then come sit in your lap to get praise and to snuggle.

I get along great with the other gentle cats in my foster home as well as a service dog who drops by occasionally. I’m accustomed to the calm and quiet of my foster home, so I’d probably do best in a home without chaos and without kids.

My siblings Mothra and Godzilla were found with me as orphan kittens during Tropical Storm Imelda. Although I'm available separately, it would be the cat’s meow if I could be adopted with one of my siblings so we could keep each other company while you’re at work or on vacation. If you’re looking for a real lap cat who’s the life of the party and who’s past the mayhem of kittenhood, I’m your girl! Arrange to meet me today! I promise to leave tiny paw prints all over your heart.

Yuli #personality-plus

You are here:
A REAL CHAMP

DOB 8/10/22

Howdy, everyone! I’m Yuli, named after the first baseman who helped lead the Astros to winning the World Series. My moniker is because Foster Meowmy thinks that I too am a real champ! I’m a very sweet, very friendly, very energetic black DSH/Bombay mix fella. I love to be picked up and petted – that is – until I’m ready to get back down to play, the perennial pastime of all kittens my age.

When Foster Meowmy comes to the foster room, I’m the first one to run up to her and greet her. That’s because she brings yummy food and treats! I’m also the first one to try to dash out the door! I heard her recently say, “That Yuli. He’s very goal-oriented and knows all the tricks. He just doesn’t take no for an answer.” Hey, don’t accuse me of being pushy. I just see what I want and go after it – because everything outside the foster room is an adventure!

I’m a fearless fella who’s not afraid of anything. I’ve befriended the resident dogs, and of course I love playing with all the other foster kittens. I haven’t been around small children, but Meowmy things I’d “tolerate” them.

You see, I’m grateful to have a pack of kittens who make me feel like I’m a part of their litter. I was a hungry orphaned kitten who showed up on the doorstep of a nice lady. She couldn’t keep me because she already had the limit of cats for her apartment, but she turned to HOPE to find me a fantastic forever home. I’ve assimilated quite well into the critter dynamics of my foster home, which is a real blessing for a fella who’d lost his momma and siblings.

I’ve really developed into a handsome dude with a sleek, shiny black patent-leather coat. I’m such a character that you really need to experience me in person to appreciate my personality-plus! Arrange to meet me today!

Hopefully you're not superstitious because, as Groucho Marx said, "A black cat's crossing your path signifies that he's going somewhere." Black cats are five times more likely to be euthanized at a shelter. Most people who adopt black cats once want to adopt one again because of our outstanding personalities and emotional stability

ONE BLUE EYE, ONE GREEN EYE

DOB 6/6/22

Well hello! I’m Ziva, a super-sweet, energetic, sassy Turkish Van/DSH mix lass who has one blue eye and one green eye. “Van” means that I’m mostly white with black on my ears, forehead, and tail. I adore cuddling with my foster meowmy, and yet I’m a typical frisky kitten who loves to zoom through the kitty tunnel and pounce on wand toys that Foster Meowmy dangles above my head.

I was found in southwest Houston as an orphan stray and fit in beautifully with the rest of the cats and kittens in my foster home. I was named after the daughter of the woman who paid for my rescue vetting. I boldly stand up for myself when my 13-pound foster-cat-brother Rusty tries to steal my treats!

If you’re looking for a little girl who’s “sugar and spice and everything nice,” I’m your gal! It would be great if I had another fur buddy to keep me company while you're at work or on vacation. I hope that you’ll arrange to meet me today!

Zurya (bonded to Alessandro)

You are here:
LEADER OF THE DUO

DOB 10/27/22

Mew! Mew, everyone! I’m Zurya, a sweet and affectionate fluffy snow princess whose name means “white” in the romantic Basque language. I’m bonded to my handsome tuxedo brother Alessandro. We like to think of ourselves as dressed in elegant formalwear and ready to attend a gala. What could be more elegant attire than my simple white designer gown of marabou feathers from head to paw? Alessandro prides himself for his fur-ever black-tie formalwear.

We’re symbiotic in our relationship: I’m the leader of our duo, even on the black-tie event’s dance floor. He’s shy when he first meets new people at these fancy galas, but as long as I’m on his arm, he warms up quickly.

Alessandro says, “I’m a handsome tuxedo fella who was named after Alessandro Michele, an Italian fashion designer, because I pride myself for my fur-ever formalwear. I’m shy when I first meet new people, but as long as sissy Zurya is with me, I warm up quickly.”

Zurya says, “I’m a fluffy snow princess who’s also fur-mally dressed for a gala. What could be more elegant than my simple white designer gown of marabou feathers from head to paw?
