Adorable

You are here:

Estimated date of birth is Feb. 2014.

Adorable's name says it all, she's just adorable!  This friendly girl is so multi-talented: she's an adept soccer player with any of her cat toys that skitter across the floor, she loves classical music (Chopin is her favorite), she's a lap cat, and she gets along with the other cats in her foster home. What more could you ask for? Well, how about: she's BILINGUAL! Yep, she's the complete package. Come meet her this weekend at HOPE's mobile cat adoptions, she would be a great cat addition to any lucky feline loving home.

Archie

You are here:

Archie was spotted at a SW Houston apartment complex because his eyes appeared infected.  After seeing two vets, we learned Archie has a corneal perforation in one eye, that can never be repaired.  When he is older, this eye will need to be removed.  His "good" eye is also damaged, but with care we have saved his sight.  DOB 5/13/2020

While he has been recovering we placed Archie in a room with a large, male kitten named Tom.  While Archie moves at the speed of light, Tom uses a much lower speed.  In the video you can see Archie playing with a new toy while Tom keeps watch.  https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMJyhdJPS/   If the link doesn’t work for you, try copying and pasting it into your browser.

Archie is a wonderful kitten with a lot of life and love to share.  If you can open your heart to a special needs kitten, please consider Archie.   HOPE ID# 20-0901-C055

Baby Bear

You are here:

Hi! I am Baby-Bear. My brother Starbuck and I were born March 7, 2017 and are the cutenesses of West U. But we're not looking to rob any honey bees or chase any white whales. We are on a quest for our furrever home with wonderful people. We like soft stuff and we love to race around. Right now it's hot, but we are oh so cool! When it gets cold we'll warm your nice soft bed, or snuggle your sleepy head! I'll sweeten your coffee for you! We love to be cute and precious and held like little babies. We're pretty sure you might need us to brighten your life with a little mischief & joy.

Come see us and apply to be our furry people. Don't forget we have an adoption fee! That's to keep the bees and whales safe! Okay, it might be for vetting, vaccines, flea treatment, etc. but we're pretending it's to keep our hunting abilities from developing.

Born New Years Day 2017, Barbie is an outgoing, but opinionated little lady. She does pretty well with other kitties, but prefers to play with her humans! Her favorite things are tunnels, boxes, and toy mice.

Bliss

You are here:
From “bad Botox” to beautiful!!!
Bliss and her kittens (Calvin and Hobbes) were spotted on Facebook.  Everyone was worried about Bliss because her lips were enlarged - like a very bad Botox treatment on a movie star.  No one wanted to foster them because the Mom looked so odd.  It turned out her illness was easily treatable and her lips are back to normal size and will stay that way.   DOB 8/27/2018

Bliss was a great mom and took good care of her boys, but now she is ready to be on her own.  She is a sweet, friendly girl who craves attention and Temptation treats. She is grateful for her renewed health and is longing for a forever home.   HOPE ID # 20-0822-A059

Bootsy

You are here:

Estimated DOB 4/4/20.

Bootsy and his brother James, along with his step-siblings Cash and Pinky, were born in the backyard of a cat lover.  She didn't want them to take their chances on the street so she brought them inside and enrolled them in HOPE's cat adoption program.

Bootsy is an explorer!  He loves to check out the house and then come back to his foster mom for some lap time and lots of petting.  Bootsy enjoys being held and will purr and purr and purr his contentment.  He also enjoys playing with his siblings whether it's with cat toys or wresting and playing chase.  An empty box (did someone say Amazon?) is always a good place to hide and pounce on an unsuspecting sibling 🙂

Bootsy

You are here:
Mr. Mischief

 Hi There!

I'm Bootsy or Mr. Mischief or affectionately Sh***head or Stopthat! or BOOTSY!  or Cutthatout!  Basically I have many names!  I know I'm absoulely fabulous it's just I'm bored so I give the other cats unmitigated grief.  I'm loads of fun and always entertaining.  I"m just misunderstood.  I act more like a dog than a cat.  I need a lot of entertainment.  I probably need a dog but I don't know any.  I came from a family with kids who irritated me so if I think you're going to be ugly to me I get a little nippy.  But if know you're being nice, I'm nice.  I need to find the perfect home for me. Oh, and I love to  ESCAPE!  So a catio would be absolutely ideal for me.  I sound AWESOME don't I.  I AM!

Oooo! My backstore is a real doozy too.   One day I showed up in this "catlady's" backyard.  Acting all sweet and precious; wouldn't be any trouble if she would just feed me.  Well she was hoping I would go back to whereever I belonged. (She did feed me.)  Surprise, I didn't. I hung around for a couple of weeks.  So she decided that she would ready a room and if I was still there the next morning she would bring me in.  The next day came and I was no where to be found.  So catlady called for me the following day; and here I came limping out of the garage.  So the day before catlady was ready to bring me in I got busy and broke my back foot.  Yay!  Catlady was dismayed but she was out of $ for expensive vet bills for stray cats and it my foot wasn't out of place.  So catlady brought me in and I was put in my recovery room while catlady figured out what to do with me.

Once I recovered catlady had the bright idea to check to see if I was owned.  I was neutered and sweet and playful so at some point I probably had a home. Maybe my family was missing me!  Sure enough,  I did belong to a family....all the way across town!  Hmmmm........how did I get to catlady's house????  Well catlady was excited to be able to tell my family I was found safe.  So catlady called my family and asked if they were missing a cat;  and they hung up on her.  Huh oh!  So, catlady tried again.  This time my family told catlady "Yes, we were wondering what happened to him.  He just dissapeared."  "We want him back but we are out of town right now and won't be back for a month, but we definately want 'Marvin' back."  So catlady and my family agreed on a day to get me back home and all was settled.  Right?! .....Wrong!  The day came for my family to come pick me up and no word, so catlady called them and that's when they decided they didn't really want me back ....excuses.....excuses....excuses.

So - Here I am!  Looking for a home where misbehaving is fun and appreciated for character and individuality.  Hopefully my new home won't have any cats for me to pester the living daylights out of and maybe even a nice dog who will be my buddy.

Calvin

Calvin, his brother, Hobbes, and mother, Bliss, were posted on Facebook, so the Foster Mom took them into her clan.  The boys are quite a lively pair, playing ball, racing around and fighting each other for the last Temptation treat. They are growing boys and always hungry.  Calvin is the gentler of the two and usually lets his brother find out what is going on before he joins into the fun.  Can you offer one or both of these cuties a loving, forever home?  DOB 7/14/2020

Cassie

You are here:
Demure, petite, sweet girl that needs a patient pet parent

Estimated DOB 4/28/20.

Little Cassie was found at a Kroger store hiding underneath the shopping carts in the parking lot.  Her rescuer was very patient and finally managed to catch her in a box and took her home to get her healthy and on the road to adoption.

Cassie enjoys playing with her toys and climbing the cat furniture.  She is curious of places to squeeze into but it takes her a while to get comfortable with new things.  She likes to be held and snuggle in your arms.  She is a gentle girl that would like to go to a home with and adult cat  (or no other cats) and an experienced /patient pet parent so she can blossom into a confident young cat.

Chloe

You are here:

Sweet Chloe was turned into the Houston City shelter by her owner along with her four baby kittens.  They were all underweight and so starving  - both for food and for attention!  Her kittens have all been adopted and now it's Chloe's turn.

Chloe loves to lay in the window sill in the sunshine.  She also likes to follow her foster mom around and have her ears rubbed.  When she can't be looking out the window, she's fine relaxing in her cat bed.  She's always up for some treats and to chase the laser pointer!  She is a very low maintenance cat and would like nothing more than to have a person all her own so that she can be the pampered cat she deserves to be!

If you are interested in Chloe and would like to fill out a Cat Adoption Application, please go to: http://www.homelesspets.net/adoption-forms/cat-adoption.php . Submitting an application does not obligate you to adopt Chloe but it initiates contact with us and gets the process started. Chrissie

You are here:
Please consider me!

Born in October 2017, Chrissie and her sister Nicki were rescued from an apartment complex in SW Houston. She is a quiet kitty, but when picked up loves to cuddle against your neck. Her favorite parts of the day are treat time and when she gets her turn in the hammock.  (The sisters fuss at each other if they don't take turns, just like human sisters do!) Chrissie has been waiting over two years for a home to call her own. If you can offer this beautiful, tuxedo girl a forever family, please complete a HOPE application.

Cini

You are here:
This Russian Blue does everything but vacuum!
DOB Sept 2019 - The name Cini means blue in Russian! She loves to give and get kisses! She has a foster brother and sister that she plays with and grooms. She's talkative and will bring you the ball to throw and fetch when the other playmates are worn out! When the vacuum cleaner is pulled out, she thinks it's playtime and she will chase it and try to bat it! She would be lonely by herself so she needs to have a playmate. She gets along with cats and she would probably be good with cat-friendly dogs.

Cissy

You are here:

Born in May, 2017, Cissy and her sister Sassy were rescued from an apartment complex in SW Houston where children were torturing small animals and hawks were looking for their next meal. When the two small kittens were rescued, Cissy was ill and her sister was helping her. While recovering at the vet they put out their paws and made contact between their two crates - always staying in touch.

Cissy still has a few health issues, but they don't stop her from running and playing. She has so much energy and is usually the last one to bed and the first one up! Perhaps she is making up for the time when she was not able to play. Her older Foster Brother loves to pounce on his sisters, who squeal and run. Can you add Cissy to your family and give her a forever home?

Cookie is passionate about her toys! Crinkly ones, squeaky ones, feather toys, she loves them all.  While Cookie enjoys exploring and checking out empty cardboard boxes, she also like quiet time snuggled on your chest (next to your heart) ❤. This sweet girl is learning to adapt to new environments (like going to Petco for adoption events), but will need quiet time to adjust to a new household.

Cookie just wants what every kitty wants, a safe, comfortable home where she can be loved for who she is.

Donovan

You are here:
Born 8/8/2020

This year has been extremely rough for everyone and Donovan has had his share of hard knocks. Abandoned outside a rural animal control facility with his siblings, Donovan had to scavenge for food and shelter. It was weeks before a volunteer at the shelter noticed the tiny kittens holding under a shed. As a result, Donovan is just beginning to trust people.

This sweet boy is looking for a home with one of his siblings (Divinity or Daphne) or with other playful or nurturing kitties. He loves exploring, soft beds, snuggling and watching  TV. Donovan is very smart and highly motivated by canned food. Can you be Donovan's lifetime companion?

Houdini

You are here:
Very Sweet, gentle cuddly

Hocus Pocus Poof!  I’m Houdini!  I’m wearing my best Tuxedo to my magic show.  My favorite trick is capturing hearts.  I’m low key and chill.  I never make a fuss.  I’ve been calm and sweet since I was a little bity thing.  My brothers Heathcliffe and Mushroom can be particular and want everything according to their specifications.  As long as I’m loved I’m cool.  Cat mommy can snuzzle me and kiss me as much as she wants.  I do love a cat tree and nice fluffy blankets.  I’m a great nap  buddy and I purr real sweetly.  I’m very gentle and mild mannered.  I need a nice home with nice people who will dote on me and maybe read a few books with me.  I’m a quiet kitten and like a magician’s trick you might not even notice me I’m so good.  (At least in this house where half the cats are terrible, always squabbling, knocking stuff off, breaking things)  Not me, I’m a proper little cat and very easy going.  Lovely am I.  I want good humans to hang out with and leave catlady’s cat pandemonium behind.  But she did a good job rescuing me and my brothers and taming us into little sweeties.  I do have fun with my brothers  and the other kittens like Pumkin an Red Feathers  but I’ll be so happy for a furrever home.  Please come and meet me and let me sprinkle a little magic glitter on your heart strings.

James

You are here:
Very sweet boy that enjoys BATHS!

Estimated DOB 4/4/20.

James and his brother Bootsy, along with his step-siblings Cash and Pinky, were born in the backyard of a cat lover.  She didn't want them to take their chances on the street so she brought them inside and enrolled them in HOPE's cat adoption program.

James is a laid back kitten, as opposed to his brother Bootsy, the explorer. James is more of the quiet observer,  he's a follower, not a leader.  He enjoys BATHS and being combed and held.  He also enjoys grooming his sibling and step-siblings. James is such a sweet boy, he just purrs up a storm.

He also enjoys playing with his siblings whether it's with cat toys or wresting and playing chase.  An empty box (did someone say Amazon?) is always a good place to hide and pounce on an unsuspecting sibling 🙂

Marshmallow

You are here:
Salvage Yard Daisies

I'm Marshmallow.  I'm the sweet curious boy with big eyes.  I have cute spots on my head and a bent tail.  (We don't know what happened)   I have big long legs so I'll probably be a tall boy.   I'm almost a professional soccer player.  I use "the legs" as my goal posts.  The fuzz ball must stay with the legs.  We play jumping and dancing on "the legs" to get the fuzzy. I've got the moves!  I like to be on someone.  Especially if it means I can play king of the mountain on the legs.  I love to guard the legs from my brother and sisters.  I jump at my siblings and spit at them protecting my prized spot on top of leg mountain.  I make it the best game!  I'm now out of the baby room causing excitement and joy all over the house!

I'm also a very helpful companion in the bathroom.  I love drawers! (tmi I know) Don't worry, cats are very clean. The There's nothing better than to play in the sweat pants/shorts.  They've got strings and pockets and hidey holes. I get my siblings from my secret lair in the shorts. They are a great place to play.  I've got the cutest personality to go along with all this fun.  I'm looking for an awesome human team.  We can be number one!

VIDEO playable on adopt-a-pet!

Background: Hello everybody!  We are five cutie pies FlanneryIsabella,  PansyCoffee & Cream and Marshmallow.  Well look at us, popping up like daisies in the junkyard!  Pretty babies don't belong here. A nice lady took one look at photos of us on the radiators and said: "That's not right."  So she rescued us and got our mommy fixed up too.  We had to have a bath to get all the oil and dirt off and then we had to have a good snuggle. We started eating like good little piggies. We got our vetting done. Now we are already for forever homes with lots of love and entertainment for our families/cat parents

Pacino

You are here:
Spooning, Teddy Bear of a Cat

Looking for your own lovable, house MOUNTAIN LION?  Here he is!

Mistakenly notched at the ear as a feral, handsome Pacino is nothing but a green-eyed bundle of love who has never met a stranger.  He eagerly seeks to know visitors to the house and love on them, too, often standing on his back legs and putting his front paws on their thigh to really grab their attention.  He’s quite a character!  Pacino also gets along with all of his furry friends in his foster family’s house – cats and dogs alike (children, too, but, thankfully, they aren’t furry)   https://vm.tiktok.com/JjRAj7y/  If the TikTok links don’t work for you, please copy and paste them into your browser.

Pacino craves affection and loves to give it, too.  He is also very vocal.  He trills and talks to us a lot.  In this video, you can see how Pacino stole his foster family’s heart.  Look how desperately he wanted to be inside!  This was outside of a family’s home in Alief where he was discovered.  https://vm.tiktok.com/Jeh1XGQ/

Pacino has an eye infection that has to be treated 1x-2x per day with eye ointment.  It is steadily improving. Some cats with FVR (feline viral rhinopneumonitis) eventually become asymptomatic but they will always have the virus, even if it goes dormant. Pacino is not contagious around fully-vaccinated cats. (That’s what the “FVR” is for in standard FVRCP cat vaccines.)  If only someone would have gotten the poor guy his kitten shots!  DOB 6/01/2018  Pacino is not contagious to other species or humans.

Pacino is kind of resigned to the daily eye treatments and will hang his legs a la Winnie the Pooh (“okay, let’s just get it over with”): https://vm.tiktok.com/JNpq8VS/  His foster family is hopeful that in a household where Pacino is king of the castle (less pets around and therefore, less stress), his eye condition will become asymptomatic.  This is not just wishful thinking as studies indicate that in less stressful environments, symptoms of FVR tend to improve.  Currently, the eye condition is under control and really not a big deal to treat.  We are looking for someone who will love Pacino as much as we do because he really is a special cat.

Pacino is negative for feline leukemia and negative for feline AIDS.  He’s neutered, microchipped and current on all of his vaccines.  He also likes to fetch and SITS on command — when he feels like it.  He is a cat for goodness sake!   https://vm.tiktok.com/JeBJens/

Al Pacino once said, “You’re only as good as the chances you take.” Won’t you take a chance on Pacino and give him a place he can call home?  This lover boy will not let you down. He will be your LOYAL companion ❤️

Pike

You are here:

Born in June 2015, this beautiful boy is a complete sweetheart! He loves attention and would gladly sit on his foster mom's lap or next to her until the end of time.

He is a gentle guy who would do best in a home with adults-only home or in one with older, pet-friendly children. He does well with other cats who are gentle like him and enjoys playing with his current foster kitten sister, but would be just fine as an only cat. He currently lives with well trained, cat-friendly dogs, whom he ignores

Princess

You are here:
My name fits me perfectly!

Princess is one of five cats abandoned after her elderly owner, who had dementia,  had to go to the hospital and never came home. Despite her sad situation, there is no doubt that her owner adored her and took care of her as best she could.

Princess gets along well with most other cats and small dogs although she likes to be the Diva and eat first!   She purrs loudly when being petted or brushed and likes to carry on conversations with her foster mom.  She's great company - she will follow you around the house but she's not much of a lap cat.  This 'princess' would love to have a permanent home where she can spend time in the window sill watching the birds and squirrels and get head/ear scratches!

Now it’s Princess’s turn…she is looking for a quiet home with no dogs or cats. She’s a very independent, sweet cat. She has that sassy attitude because she knows she’s a princess. But don’t worry, she’s well behaved and loves to sleep by your feet. Princess loves modeling and knowing that she’s got your attention when she’s posing for a picture.

Sassy

You are here:

Born in May  2017, Sassy and her sister Cissy were rescued from an apartment complex in SW Houston where children were torturing small animals and hawks were looking for their next meal. When the two small kittens were rescued, her sister was ill, so Sassy was the little caregiver. While at the vet they put out their paws and made contact between their two crates. Now Sassy loves to run and play. Her older Foster Brother loves to pounce on his sisters, who squeal and run. Sassy is a sweetie who would love to have a forever home. Stardust

You are here:
very quiet and sweet

Hi I’m Stardust.  My little personality is all around sweetness.  I’m well behaved and of course I like to cuddle and be close to you.  I’m quiet, sweet and very delicate.  I love a light gentle touch and I’m a lap kitten.  I like to sleep on “beddy-bed” soft stuff and get in the pantry to check on my yum-yums.  I like to curl up on the warm places.  Got a Roku, computer, heating pad or a dryer?   I get along with everybody in catlady’s house because I want peaceful silent night  so I can shine bright.  You don’t have to use the Hubble telescope to admire me; I’m looking for my very own home in which to twinkle.  You see my beautiful silky black fur with splashes of M1-67 nebula cream and  orange it’s really special in my family.  I’m the only little Torti nebula.   My bunch of brothers, sister and mommy too are all either Orange or Saimese.  I love to play with my siblings: Moon Beam, Pumpkin, Red Feathers, and Daffodil.  But I don’t mind hanging out with just me; I’m great company and I know it!  But if you need a little friend to brighten your life and keep you warm at night I might be just the right twinkling star.
Our background:  Well we started out as a Facebook post. These people posted that our mommy had rolled up to their apartment and dropped a bunch of little kitten seeds.  They gave her a box to put her little seedlings in on the porch.  Then they sprung into action and lured a kind catlady to take us away before we took root.  So catlady fixed our mommy, Steffi II, as nice big kitten nursery  to raise us in.  And we flourished.  We grew like little weeds. Let’s see Pumpkin and Daffodil are the flora, Red Feathers is the fauna, and Moon Beam and I are the celestial beings.  Together we are quite a crew.  And we all turned out to be award winning kitten blooms in the “Awesome Sweetness” contest.

Steffi II

You are here:
Sweet to people hates cats

Here I am; the mommy of 5 little bundles of furry joy.  My kids are Moon Beam, Daffodil, Stardust,  Red Feathers and Pumpkin.  I’ve done my best mommy job and my kids are driving now so I’m ready to blow this this cat-tastrophy of mayhem and find my forever catatopia with some lovely people.  I’m also very rare being an all red female tabby.  We don’t happen every day.  I do have some particulars: 1.)  I hate cats! (and there are way too many here); and 2.) At some point I might have been owned by ugly people or unkind children, because I still take a second to make sure you aren’t going to mistreat me.  So once you start petting me I have to make sure I don’t need to give you a tiny tooth hug.  I am super sweet and as long as your petting meets my expectation of gentleness we’re golden.  You can pet me for hours.  My kids still pester me for nursing so I would really like to get away from them.  I love them but WOW,  they just won’t ween!  My favorite thing to do here is sit in the windows and enjoy some cat free time.   I like to sleep by your head and purr in your ear.  I have a lovely personality and I want to be someone’s only kitty (or at least with fewer than the pandemonium in this house).  I’m a lap kitty too.  I love to have a human all to myself.  “Imagine that! That would be amazing.” Can you make my kitty dreams come true.

Tigge

Shy but super sweet

Super nice Tiger here.  I'm Tigge.  I've trying to find my furever home for a long time.  I've been as good as gold and still no one notices me.  I'm very shy but I'm super sweet.  I probably need to have a home with fewer fosters to really be my best self.  I would love to sleep with some one "My very own human!"  Someone came to look at me when I was younger but she didn't like that I have white on my feet.

Toffee

You are here:
Born 8/12/2020

Toffe is like most girls and just wants to have fun! She can chase a feather wand or crinkle ball around a room endlessly. She gets excited and stands on her back paws for extended periods of time concentrating on the airborne toys. She runs circles around her siblings when it comes to hunting for lost toys under couches or inside closts.

Toffee enjoys being held and will purr softly. But food and toys are her two most favorite things. Comes meet Toffee and fall in love.

Tom

You are here:
Tom was dropped at a vet's office by a family that could no longer afford him.  He had a broken leg and needed other vet care.  He was a lucky kitten because it was a clean break and with the help of pins, the vet was able to completely repair the leg.  When his fur grows back he will be ask good as new. DOB 4/21/2020
While he was recovering, we placed Tom with a smaller kitten named Archie who is partially blind.  Tom is a big kitten and moves rather slowly, while Archie is small and moves like lightening, but the two became good buddies and now Tom watches over his little friend. When the door to their room opens, Archie, hides at the back and let's Tom figure out if everything is okay.   This is a sweet boy who deserves a loving home.  Can you give him a second start at life?
