(Mr.) Noel #lap-kitty-bed-buddy

You are here:
LOVES TO BE CARRIED AROUND

DOB 7/12/21

I'm (Mr.) Noel, just your perfect feline companion! I'm a very friendly, affectionate, loving, easygoing, and active spotted cream tabby. My foster mom calls me her favorite "lap kitten" and her "bed buddy" because I love to snuggle. I was rescued as a baby and bottle-fed by my human, so I love being carried around.  I live with cats and dogs, so I get along well with other cats and cat-friendly dogs.

Why am I a "special needs" kitty? I was recently diagnosed with diabetes insipidus. It is easily controlled with daily eyedrops, but I will need an experienced owner who can give me my drops every day, and monitor my drinking and...um...output in case dosage needs to be adjusted by the vet.

HOPE ID 21-0814-A050

If you are interested in (Mr.) Noel and would like to fill out an online Cat Adoption Application, please go to https://www.homelesspets.net/adoption-forms/cat-adoption.php. Submitting an application does not obligate you to adopt, but it initiates contact with us and gets the process started.  If you have questions prior to filling out the application, email us at hope@homelesspets.net, and a volunteer will get back to you.

Adora #catnip-addict

LOVES THE WAND TOY

DOB 4/7/22

Meow! Meow, everyone! I’m Adora, a very sweet, independent brown tabby young lady with green eyes as big as saucers. I enjoy being petted and tolerate kisses but LOVE catnip and playtime. Boy, howdy, I adore it when my foster meowmy waves the wand toy over my head!

I was a friendly neighborhood stray who was going up to everyone who walked by saying, “Hi, I’m confused. Can I come home with you, please?” Fortunately, a HOPE volunteer spotted me on her street, scooped me up, and brought me safely inside her home. At my tender age, it looked like I’d already been a teenage mom because my teats were just drying up. Foster Meowmy thinks that most likely someone had kept my kittens but dumped me.

No worries! I checked out very healthy at the vet, and now I’ll never have another litter. I’m happy, contented, quiet, and undemanding. I get along great with the resident little pooch in my foster home. Now all I need is YOU to give me a few chin scratches and a large dose of catnip.

Alex #laser-pointer-ready

You are here:
PLAYFUL TUXIE

DOB 9/1/21

Howdy everyone! I’m Alex, a sweet, playful, and handsome bi-color fella who’s mostly white with black on my head, back, and tail. Don’t you love the white blaze on my nose and my black collar around my neck? I’m a little unsure about being held at first, but once I get settled in Foster Meowmy’s lap, I quickly turn on my purr motor, which sounds like a perking coffeepot. It’s amazing what she can get me to do by offering a few Temptations catnip treats in her open palm.

I love to play with balls with bells, catnip mice, and crinkle toys. I’ll chase a laser pointer until Foster Meowmy calls “game over.” I also love to play with the other foster cats. We tumble and pounce, climb and wrestle until we collapse in a kitten puddle. I have not been around kids nor introduced to the resident dog, whom I can hear barking in the other part of the house.

I was a young kitten when Foster Meowmy trapped me from a feral colony and brought me inside for socialization. I've adjusted quite well, as you can read, to the amenities of indoor life.  Arrange to meet me today! I challenge you to guess the decibels of my purr motor!

Alexander (brother of Teddy)

You are here:
SINGS BIG, BREATHY, CHIRPY PURRS

DOB 8/26/21

Hello there! I’m Alexander, a super-fun-loving, inquisitive, and mischievous medium-haired gray tabby with white tuxedo markings. Don't you love my four white mittens? Who knows if I have some Maine Coon blood coursing through my veins? My foster meowmy tells me that I’m gorgeous, but you can make up your own mind about that!

I'm happy-go-lucky and sugar sweet. I love to drape myself across foster meowmy and sing BIG, breathy, chirpy purrs. Always the comedian, I love to show off! And I’m a ball of curiosity.

I was one of eight kittens in my mom Tinsley’s litter, and I’m a carbon copy or her. I’d love to find my forever home with people who’re as happy as I am, and it would be even better if I could be adopted with my brother Teddy or my mom Tinsley. Since I'm always ready to let the good times roll, if you’re looking for a sweet kitty who’s a barrel of fun, I’m your man!

Anubis #lawn-mower-kitten

You are here:
LITTLE BLACK "VELCRO" PANTHER

DOB 6/1/22

Hello everyone! I'm Anubis, a sweet, gentle, easygoing, smart, and curious black domestic short hair/Bombay mix fella who was named after the ancient Egyptian god who was characterized by his black jackal head. I'm quite a lap cat who turns on my purr motor when Foster Meowmy scratches my head. I just love to please her!

Although I’m definitely not a purebred Bombay, I’m similar to a Bombay in several ways. I have a sleek, shiny patent-leather coat and copper-penny eyes; I’m a Velcro cat who likes to cuddle with my foster meowmy; I follow her around the house like a dog.

I love to hang around the two adult resident cats, but I am more submissive to them than my feisty sister Cheeto. I just ignore the two small senior resident cat-friendly dogs.

I love to tumble and pounce, climb and wrestle with my siblings Cheeto and Mocha, and when we're thoroughly exhausted, we collapse in a kitten puddle. I can entertain myself too because I love to play with balls with bells, catnip mice, and crinkle toys.

Thank heavens my future foster meowmy had been feeding my pregnant mama, who suddenly got thinner. Like a sleuth, Meowmy followed Mama into a neighbor’s back yard, where she discovered my litter under a lawn mower when we were about eight weeks old. She hand-caught us by luring us with yummy food and brought inside -- otherwise, we might not have survived Houston's scorching summer heat.

We were initially “spicy” because we were accustomed to Mama’s protection, but we’ve done “a complete 180” and become socialized kittens who crave our foster family’s attention. I'm so glad I said good-bye to the hardscrabble life of a stray because I've adjusted beautifully to all the indoor amenities of my foster home.

Cheeto and I are particularly bonded. I often groom her, and when one of us cries, the other comes to find out why. I'd love to be adopted with Cheeto so we could keep each other company while you're at work or on vacation. Arrange to meet me (and Cheeto too, for that matter!) today!

Hopefully you're not superstitious because, as Groucho Marx said, "A black cat's crossing your path signifies that he's going somewhere." Black cats are five times more likely to be euthanized at a shelter. Most people who adopt black cats once want to adopt one again because of our outstanding personalities and emotional stability.

Bagheera #black-panther

You are here:
BIG, HANDSOME, VELVETEEN!

DOB 5/26/19

Howdy everyone! I’m Bagheera, a sweet, social, people-oriented black DSH/Bombay mix fella with a sleek, shiny velveteen coat and brilliant green eyes. Because I love to stay close by my foster mom's side, you might call me a “Velcro” cat. I was named for the black panther in Kipling’s/Disney’s “The Jungle Book.”

Hopefully you're not superstitious because, as Groucho Marx said, "A black cat's crossing your path signifies that he's going somewhere." I was so glad to have been taken to my HOPE foster home because black cats are five times more likely to be euthanized at a shelter. Most people who adopt black cats once want to adopt one again because of their outstanding personalities and emotional stability.

Bang #fantastic-7-kitty

You are here:
VELCRO BOBTAIL KITTY

DOB 3/27/22

Hi! I'm Bang, a creamy, dreamy-eyed blue mackerel tabby bobtail Manx mix girl with white tuxedo markings who loves spending time with my foster meowmy. Along with the resident dog, I enjoy cuddling in her lap while she reads or watches TV. When I’m alone watching nature on the cat tree and observe Foster Meowmy walk by, I make “soft muffins” to express my love and delight.

But I’m no couch potato! No sirree! I love playing fetch with whatever Foster Meowmy tosses for me. Of course I love playing with my six siblings. We were born outside, but foster meowmy brought us indoors when she rescued us at one month old. It would be the cat's meow if I could be adopted with one of my siblings. That way we could keep each other company while you're at work or on vacation.

If you’re looking for an easy-going, undemanding gal who’ll stick like Velcro to you when you need company, I’m for you. I have so much love to give, and all I need is YOU! Arrange to meet me today.

SASSY AND BEAUTIFUL

DOB 1/1/17

Hi there! I’m Barbie, an affectionate, sweet-faced bicolor tabby gal who’s mostly white with silver tabby on my head, torso, and tail. I’m an outgoing, spunky, but opinionated little lady who absolutely loves to cuddle in my foster meowmy’s lap.

I’m a playful girl whose favorite things are kitty tunnels, boxes, and toy mice. When I need a "time out" after playing or from my housemates, I  prefer to bask in sunbeams on the windowsill or curl up on top of the refrigerator.

I get along pretty well with other foster kitties and would do well in a household with a laid-back cat or dog but probably not with small children. Arrange to meet me today!

Bas #golden-boy

You are here:
ROCK AND ROLLER

DOB 4/11/22

Howdy everyone! I’m Bas, the Golden Boy, a happy, very playful, curious tawny-gold “tuxedo” tabby with white mittens and vest. My foster meowmy describes me as “studiously” smart and independent as well as having a very sweet disposition. I’m a gentle boy who’s drawn to her and other animals for affectionate engagement, which is my mantra.

I was found as a stray off Cullen Boulevard, but thankfully HOPE stepped in to find me a forever home. Even though I'm an orphan kitten, I fit in immediately to the dynamics of my foster home, which includes felines of all ages as well as dogs of all shapes and sizes.

I adjusted beautifully and wasted no time before I was playing with the other foster kittens. Fortunately there is a litter that is just few weeks older than I am, and we have a blast tumbling and pouncing, climbing and wrestling.

I’m mesmerized when I track the sounds of balls with bells and other toys that roll or move. I love also to chase foam balls, catnip mice, and wand toys, and when I'm thoroughly exhausted from my kitten antics, I collapse in a kitten puddle.

Arrange to meet me today! I’d do best in a home with other felines with whom I could engage. It’d be the cat’s meow if I could be adopted with one of my foster-mates with whom I’ve already bonded so well. We could keep each other company while you’re at work or on vacation. I’d be deeply appreciative if you’d choose me to join you in your loving home.

Biscuits (bonded to Gravy)

You are here:
UNFLAPPABLE -- NOTHING FAZES ME

DOB 9/4/21

Meow! Meow! I'm Biscuits a sweet, affectionate, easygoing "bicolor" brown tabby teenage fella. "Bicolor" means that I’m mostly white with tabby on my head, back, and tail. On my white face I have two little brown "biscuit" marks next to my nose. I'm very bonded to my brother Gravy, and we go together like peas and carrots.

We love spending time with our foster parents because they shower us with attention. I enjoy a good ear scratch. Foster Meowmy likes to pet me because my fur is so soft. Although we’re not lap cats per se, we are definitely a friendly, affectionate duo who enjoys people.

We showed up in Foster Meowmy's neighborhood when we were just four months old, and we were already neutered and microchipped. Unfortunately, our adopters hung up when they were contacted from the chip registration, which indicated that they had released us to fend for ourselves at our tender age. Our first foster meowmy was pregnant, and didn't do much about trying to re-home us. That's when her neighbor, our current foster meowmy, stepped in and agreed to enlist HOPE to help us find our forever home. We are so grateful to her since she is juggling a lot with new baby herself.

We’re so adaptable that it only took us a day or two to get adjusted to our new foster home, which has no less than one dog, two other cats, and a baby who crawls around on the floor. How many cats do you know who could be that even-tempered and unruffled?

We’re also very playful. Our favorite toy is the amazing Cat Dancer, which is a little bit of cardboard on a wire that springs around like a bungee cord. And we have perfect scratching manners on our cardboard scratcher.

Since we are so bonded, we need to stay together. We’re very low-maintenance and undemanding, so it would be perfect for you because we can keep each other company while you’re at work or on vacation. Arrange to meet us!  We would love to meet you and join your family.

UNFLAPPABLE -- NOTHING FAZES US

DOB 9/4/21

Meow! Meow! We’re Biscuits and Gravy, and we go together like peas and carrots. We are a sweet, affectionate, easygoing bonded pair of brown tabby teenage fellas with white tuxedo markings. It’s easy to tell us apart. Biscuits says, “I’m mostly white with tabby on my head, back, and tail. On my white face I have two little brown ‘biscuit’ marks next to my nose.” Gravy says, “I’m a little chunkier, but that just means that there’s more of me to love. I’m mostly tabby with a half of a white milk-moustache, white vest, and four white mittens.”

We love spending time with our foster parents because they shower us with attention. Biscuits says, “I enjoy a good ear scratch. Foster Meowmy likes to pet me because my fur is so soft.” Gravy says, “I will strike up a conversation by showing my tummy to invite a good belly rub.” Although we’re not lap cats per se, we are definitely a friendly, affectionate duo who enjoys people.

We showed up in Foster Meowmy's neighborhood when we were just four months old, and we were already neutered and microchipped. Unfortunately, our adopters hung up when they were contacted from the chip registration, which indicated that they had released us to fend for ourselves at our tender age. BOTTLE-FED SWEETIE

DOB 8/10/22

Howdy! I’m Blue, a friendly, outgoing, playful, and handsome Russian Blue mix fella who’s the total package. I love everyone, including adults, children, other cats, and cat-friendly dogs. I’m very active and full of life, so I really need a home with another cat or dog so I can play with them.

I was abandoned at a vet’s office when I was just a week old. Thank heavens I made my way to my HOPE foster meowmy, who bottle-fed me until I could eat on my own. I guess all that cuddling and nurturing helped me be such an affectionate fella.

Arrange to meet me today so I’ll waste no time in warming your heart and home.

Bluebell #your-constant-companion

You are here:
GIVES KISSES FOR CHIN SCRATCHES

DOB 3/06/22

Well hello! I’m Bluebell, an affectionate, cuddly, and beautiful solid gray gal with a peach-tabby bow tie as well as a few splashes of peach sprinkled on my coat. You might say that it looks like I got caramel spilled on me while I was in a candy factory. Or you might just call me a blue-cream tortoiseshell. I heard Foster Meowmy recently tell someone, “Bluebell is one of the sweetest, gentlest, most serene kitties I’ve ever encountered.”

I require plenty of lap time and enjoy cuddling in bed with Foster Meowmy at night. I'm a rare kitty who enjoys having my belly rubbed, and I give "eyelash" kisses as well as turn on my purr motor when Foster Meowmy scratches my ears and under my chinny-chin-chin. I follow her around like her shadow just because I love spending time with her.

I enjoy playing with catnip mice and the other foster kittens. I can get the zoomies after a bit of silly playtime. When I’m worn out from my kitten antics, I love napping on a cat tower or basking in a sunbeam on the windowsill.

I’m not without my issues. I startle occasionally, so I’d prefer a quiet home with no noisy dogs or small children. (I get along great with my 10-year-old, well-behaved foster human siblings.) I can be shy at first when guests come over, but after about five minutes, I emerge from my hidey-hole and even come to sit next to them. I clam up in new surroundings, so I don’t show well at adoption events because all the noise and chaos make me freeze in my cage.

I hope that you can get past my temporary uncertainty about the unknown and noise. If you can see my loving heart and gentle temperament that quickly blossom once I warm up, I think we could be forever constant companions.

Boots (sister of Carly)

You are here:
COMEDIAN WITH PERSONALITY PLUS

DOB 3/10/22

Hi! I’m Boots, and I’m a friendly, affectionate, outgoing, and smart black and white tuxedo gal who’s quite the comedian with my “personality-plus.” I’m one of those rare kitties who really enjoys it when my foster meowmy holds me. In fact, when she scratches my chin or rubs my tummy, I turn on my purr motor to the “high” setting.

I’m a lap cat who’ll curl up with Foster Meowmy while she reads or watches TV, and I like to snuggle with her in bed. I’m her shadow who follows her around just in case I can help her with her chores. Just call me Marco Polo because I'm an explorer of new places to hide and nap.

I was rescued with my sister Carly from under the deck in a nice lady’s back yard. We were hiding from the neighbor’s dog, who managed to kill our sibling. I’m so glad we ended up in the safety of our HOPE foster home. We have so much fun tumbling and pouncing, climbing and wrestling with each other. I like the resident orange tabby, who tolerates my jumping on him as well as playing with his tail. Boy howdy! I go crazy when Foster Meowmy dangles the wand toy over my head or flashes the laser light for me to chase.

Although we’re available separately, Carly and I think it’d be the cat’s meow if we could be adopted together. That way we could keep each other company when you’re at work or on vacation. If you’re looking for an outgoing, clever, and smart kitten, I’m your gal! Arrange to meet me today!

COOL, CALM, & COLLECTED

DOB 3/27/22

Hi! I'm Bud, an affectionate, curious, and playful brown tabby fella with white tuxedo markings who’s been perfecting true Eskimo kisses. I love it when Foster Meowmy scratches behind my ears all the way down to my tail, which makes me waggle my --- ah hem — you know what!  I’m a true buddy who cherishes any attention that Foster Meowmy can send my way.

I love playing with crinkled paper as well as balls with bells and catnip mice -- as long as I can first check out any lurking feline characters. I tend to remain cool and calm as I set myself apart from the shenanigans of the rest of my litter, but then I jump in when I decide I want to participate in their rough-housing and chasing. And I can’t resist when my foster meowmy dangles toys over my head or darts the laser around the room.

I'm one of the Fantastic 7 litter along with Bang, Bing, Mitz, Blu, Maci, Maxi, and Dash. We were born outside, but when our foster meowmy rescued us at one month old, she brought us indoors. It'd be the cat's meow if I could be adopted with one of my siblings. That way we could keep each other company while you're at work or on vacation.

AMAZINGLY FRIENDLY, OVERLY LOVABLE

DOB 4/7/22

Hi there! I’m Butch, an amazingly friendly, overly lovable, sweet brown tabby fella with mesmerizing green eyes. Foster Meowmy testifies that almost everyone in the universe loves me because my personality simply can't be beat. Compared to my two litter mates Sundance and Violet, I’m one darn big boy who’s almost an arm-full of cat when I’m held.

I was a tiny unweaned orphan kitten when we three were found in the wall of an old house.  A few cat lovers with a lot of determination used saws and hammers finally to free us.  I was clearly the largest of the trio and grew like a weed, thanks to a team of diligent bottle-feeders. As a result, I’m well socialized and harbor undying love for my siblings and foster parents.

I have so much fun playing with my siblings as well as my foster mates, Little Bobbie and Tango, who are my same age but unrelated. We tumble and pounce, climb and wrestle, and when we’re exhausted from all the fun, we collapse in a kitten puddle. It would be the cat’s meow if I could be adopted with another of my fur buddies so we can keep each other company while you’re at work or on vacation.

I get along great with the 3 resident adult cats and 2 big dogs in my foster home, so there are a lot of households where I would fit like a glove. Arrange to meet me today!

DOB 1/10/22

Hello! I’m Cami, a curious and very playful brown tabby gal with white tuxedo markings. I’m more outgoing than my shy sister Lady Bug. I love to climb and explore and then to sit quietly in my foster meowmy’s lap to take a quick cat nap.

I’ve been around kids, dogs, and other cats in my foster home, so I’m very adaptable. In fact, one of the resident dogs is like a big brother to me, and I love to snuggle up with him.

Playtime is my favorite activity. I love running through the cat tunnel, climbing the cat tree, chasing my siblings’ tails, and batting around “spring” toys. And when I’m thoroughly exhausted, I take a “time out” by basking in a sunbeam on the window sill.

My foster meowmy says I'm awesome, and I know it's true. I hope to find a loving forever home soon. Although we're available separately, hopefully I can be adopted with Lady Bug. That way we can keep each other company when you’re at work or on vacation.

Candy #cartoon-kitten

SOCIAL BUTTERFLY

DOB 9/5/22

Mew! Mew, everyone! I'm one of the cartoon kittens because I was named after the character Candy Candy. I’m a friendly, outgoing patched brown tabby gal with white boots and other tuxedo markings. “Patched” tabby means that I have peach patches scattered on my face, legs, and torso. It looks like I got sprinkled with caramel in a candy factory!

I’m a little social butterfly because I like to mingle with the other foster kittens in my home. I’m the most curious and playful of my siblings because I tumble and pounce, climb and wrestle with ALL the foster kittens, including my siblings Pluto, Pinky, and Snoopy. When I’m exhausted from my kitten antics, I love to cuddle with my brothers and sister in my cat bed or the hammock.

My siblings and I were born to my mama Filomina outside in an apartment complex. Since she was such a sweet, friendly stray who always wanted to be petted, Foster Meowmy thinks that she was once someone’s pet who was abandoned when her family moved out. Thank heavens Foster Meowmy rescued all of us and brought us into her loving foster home.

I hope you'll arrange to meet me! If you’re looking for a pair of kittens, consider adopting Snoopy as well. We could keep each other company while you’re at work or on vacation. Are you ready to have tiny paw prints all over your heart?

"TALKS" TO YOU

DOB 3/10/22

Meow! Meow, everyone! I'm Carly, and I'm a sweet, gentle, playful gray and white tuxedo gal who likes to curl up with Foster Meowmy while she reads or watches TV and to snuggle with her in bed.  I can carry on quite a “conversation” with Foster Meowmy. I listen carefully when she talks to me, look intently into her eyes, and then meow back to her. I’m like her shadow because I follow her around and am especially curious when she’s doing her chores.

I was rescued with my sister Boots from under the deck in a nice lady's back yard. We were hiding from the neighbor's dog, who managed to kill our sibling. I’m so grateful that we ended up in the safety of our HOPE foster home.

Boots and I have a blast tumbling and pouncing, climbing and wrestling with each other. I get along great with the resident orange tabby, who tolerates my jumping on him as well as playing with his tail. Boy howdy! Do I love it when Foster Meowmy dangles the wand toy over my head or flashes the laser light for me to chase!

I can be initially shy when meeting new people, and I clam up in new surroundings. I don’t show well at adoption events because I freeze up in my cage with all the noise and chaos. However, the good news is that once I get to know someone and get acclimated to my new “digs,” it’s not long before I open up and come out of my shell. If you can get past my discomfort in the unknown and see my loving heart and gentle temperament that quickly blossom in the right environment, I think I could be your purrfect companion.

Although we’re available separately, Boots and I think it'd be the cat's meow if we could be adopted together. That way we could keep each other company when you're at work or on vacation. If you're looking for a total sweetheart with fur as soft as velvet, I'm your gal! Arrange to meet me today!

FEISTY LITTLE LAP CAT

DOB 6/1/22

Hello everyone! I'm Cheeto, a sweet, gentle, easygoing, alert, and curious red Classic tabby girl with marble swirls on my sides. I'm quite a lap cat who loves to nap snuggled right next to my foster meowmy while she scratches my head. I adore giving and receiving affection, so Foster Meowmy and I have a great thing going.

Even though I'm tiny, I'm a fearless dynamo. I can be feisty and spirited enough to stand up for myself when the two adult resident cats try to push me around. I just ignore the two small senior resident cat-friendly dogs. When I'm hungry, I speak up and can be very vocal in expressing my wishes to Foster Meowmy.

I can play all day! I love to tumble and pounce, climb and wrestle with my brothers Anubis and Mocha, and when we're thoroughly exhausted, we collapse in a kitten puddle. I can entertain myself too because I love to play with balls with bells, catnip mice, and crinkle toys. And boy, howdy, I can exhibit my acrobatic talents when Foster Meowmy dangles the wand toy.

Thank heavens my future foster meowmy had been feeding my pregnant mama, who suddenly got thinner. Like a sleuth, Meowmy followed Mama into a neighbor’s back yard and discovered my litter under a lawn mower when we were about eight weeks old. She hand-caught us by luring us with yummy food and brought us inside -- otherwise, we might not have survived Houston's scorching summer heat.

Anubis and I are particularly bonded. He often grooms me, and when one of us cries, the other one comes to find out why. I'd love to be adopted with Anubis so we could keep each other company while you're at work or on vacation. Arrange to meet me (and Anubis too, for that matter!) today!

Chrissie (sister of Nicki)

DRAPES NECKS LIKE A MINK BOA

DOB 10/1/17

Hello everyone! I’m Chrissie, a sweet, quiet, beautiful tuxedo gal with four white mittens and a glossy coat. When Foster Meowmy picks me up, I love to cuddle against her neck. My sister Nicki and I were rescued from dumpster-diving at an apartment complex in southwest Houston.

My favorite parts of the day are treat time and when I get my turn in the hammock. Like human sisters, Nicki and I argue over whose turn it is for lying in the hammock and getting an even share of the treats.

Although we’re available separately, it’d be the cat’s meow if we could be adopted together. That way we’d keep each other company while you’re at work or on vacation. If you’re looking for a calm, loving kitty who’s past the stage of kitten mayhem, I’m you girl! Arrange to meet me (and NIcki, for that matter!) today! I can’t wait to snuggle against YOUR neck in my new forever home.

Cirque (brother of Soleil)

FUNNY LITTLE CIRCUS PERFORMER

DOB 4/1/22

Howdy everyone! I’m Cirque, a friendly, affectionate, easygoing, playful brown tabby fella with white tuxedo markings who loves cuddling in my foster meowmy's lap as much as with my sister Soleil. My foster meowmy loves to watch Soleil and me do high-flying somersaults as we try to catch the wand toy, and that’s how we got our circus-performer monikers. We also play together by tumbling and pouncing, climbing and wrestling until we’re thoroughly exhausted, and then we collapse in a kitten puddle.

I’ve been Soleil’s emotional support since she was a malnourished baby who just couldn’t seem to gain weight. Although she’s healthy and spunky now, albeit petite, we’ve become very bonded to each other through her process of achieving a normal weight. So we think it would be the cat’s meow if we could be adopted together. We can’t imagine living without cuddling each other, and we could keep each other company while you’re at work or on vacation. Arrange to meet us today.

CRAVES PETTING AND COMPANIONSHIP

DOB 7/1/20

Hello everyone! I'm Coconut, a beautiful, sweet, mellow dilute torbie gal (silver tabby with caramel splotches, sometimes called a patched tabby) with drop-dead gorgeous green-gold eyes. I absolutely luxuriate in my foster meowmy's attention and companionship. In case she doesn't pet me enough, I'll lean my whole body into her just to maximize her strokes. I love and trust her and even come when she calls me in hopes that she'll pet me. Of course, I’m quick to take treats politely out of her hand.

Foster Meowmy marvels how I cute I am when I hop uncoordinatedly when she dangles the wand toy in front of me. I’m fascinated when Foster Meowmy and I watch YouTube bird videos on her phone screen. You know, adopting a kitty who's out of the crazy kitten stage has its advantages. I'd be less likely to cause chaos in your home or break your favorite possessions.

I love to hang out near Foster Meowmy while she's in bed, but I've always got my eyes on my two kittens, Cheddar and Sushi. I'm so grateful that Foster Meowmy rescued the three of us from living inside a cardboard box on the porch of an empty house.

I get along pretty well with the large Chihuahua mix resident dog. If the pooch gets too close, I just swat a few air-punches, and she gets the picture. With time, patience, and proper introductions, I could probably learn to live with dogs and other cats in my future home.

I was shy at first, but once I felt like I was in a safe place, I warmed up quickly to my foster meowmy. I'm sure that the same will be true when I come to live in my new adoptive home. Once I'm totally relaxed and confident, I'll become my adoptive family's "forever companion." All I want is a loving home where my humans give me all the pets and attention that I desire.

SNUGGLES ON YOUR NECK

DOB 4/4/22

Hello everyone! I’m Cupcake, a friendly, gentle, fun-loving, playful, energetic dilute gray torbie girl with peach patches who can be cuddly one minute and then full of zoomies the next. I snuggle in bed with my foster meowmy every night, and that’s when I turn on my purr motor, which makes the perfect white noise for us to drift off to sleep.

Right now I’m not a full-fledged lap cat because I’m too busy being a kitten. I love it when my foster meowmy scratches my head, but then I wiggle out of her lap to go run and play with my foster mates. Nevertheless, Foster Meowmy’s patience is being rewarded, and I’m making progress learning to be more affectionate. When she embraces me, I snuggle against her neck and whisper sweet nothings in her ear.

I was rescued on a busy road as a five-week-old orphan kitten whom a family found while they were vacationing in Port Lavaca. I got my moniker Cupcake because of my small, dainty appearance and because I'm sweet as a Sprinkles Cupcake. To make my polite requests, I meow so quietly and sweetly that I barely make a noise.

Upon arriving at my foster home, I bonded easily with the other foster kittens. We have so much fun together romping and chasing each other throughout the house, and when we’re thoroughly exhausted, we collapse in a kitten puddle. Sometimes I assume the motherly role and lick my foster mates’ heads until they fall asleep.

When I need a “time out,” I’ll curl up for a nap in my fluffy bed or bask in a sunbeam on the windowsill to watch the world go by. I have no problem entertaining myself with balls with bells, crinkle toys, and catnip mice, and boy, howdy, I love it when my foster meowmy dangles the feather wand toy over my head!

I’m a cute little kitten with a huge personality, and I’d love to go home with you. I promise to leave tiny paw prints all over your heart. I really AM a good Cupcake! Arrange to meet me today!

Daisy #queen-bee

You are here:
SHY BUT INDEPENDENT

DOB 5/10/22

Hi everyone! I’m Daisy, a shy, sensitive soul with gigantic round green eyes. I’m a beautiful fawn-colored patched tabby/torbie, which means that I have patches of peach tabby splashed on my otherwise tawny-brown tabby coat. It looks like someone spilled caramel on me in a candy factory.

Because I’m easily stimulated by touch, I’m not a big fan of being picked up, and I only briefly tolerate petting before I let Foster Meowmy know that I’ve had enough. Think about it - - you’re the same way when you’ve had enough tickling or deep massaging.

I’m a very happy kitty when Foster Meowmy just lets me do my own thing, like the Queen Bee that I am. I’m an independent gal who’s perfectly happy going off and playing by myself. I guess you’d say that I’ve got a mind of my own and don’t hesitate to assert myself over my subjects.

Theophile Gautier described me beautifully when he wrote, [A cat] will be your friend, if she finds you worthy of friendship, but NOT your slave.” If you’re up to the challenge of MY owning you instead of vice versa, I’d be delighted to move to your quiet home (without noisy kids) where I can rule my kingdom. No worries if you've got other cats as I'd be compatible with them.

DASHES ABOUT BEFORE DIVING IN

DOB 3/27/22

Hi! I'm Dash, an initially shy black and white tuxdeo gal who's gaining in my confidence. Since I'm a little tentative, I got my name because I tend to dash about before I dive in.

Once my foster meowmy gets down on the floor to play with me, I'm ready to swat those wand toys or chase that laser light. I love rough-and-tumbling with my brothers and sisters too.

I'm one of the Fantastic 7 litter, along with Bang, Bing, Mitz, Blu, Bud, Maci, and Maxi. We were born outside, but when our foster meowmy rescued us at one month old, we were brought indoors. It would be the cat's meow if I could be adopted with one of my siblings. That way we could keep each other company while you're at work or on vacation.

Howdy folks! I’m Desi, a cool, laid-back harlequin cat, which means that I’m mostly white with patches of gray tabby. I enjoy my foster meowmy’s companionship and love for her to hold me. I’m very vocal and won’t hesitate to let her know when I want her attention. I relish catnip when she dispenses it to me.

I get along with the other foster cats, but I’m pretty independent. I’m a guy whose personality is as “strong as an acre of garlic.” Arrange to meet me so you can experience me for yourself!

Diamond Girl #back-porch-girl

You are here:
QUIET, PLAYFUL OBSERVER

DOB 3/14/22

Hi! I’m Diamond Girl, a sweet, gentle, friendly brown "patched" tabby with white tuxedo markings. Tiny random patches of peach are scattered on my coat, and this makes me look like caramel was spilled on me in a candy factory. I got my name from a perfect diamond-shaped spot on my forehead.

My mommy birthed me and my sisters Jumpin’ Jill and Ruby on a nice lady’s back porch, and when we were six weeks old, she brought us inside her house to keep us safe and to socialize us really well.

I’m the docile one of the trio of “back-porch” sisters. Since  I'm a little shy on my own, I follow my sisters and stay in the background.  I actively seek to be near my foster meowmy, sometimes just so I can sit and watch her quietly. I love to be next to her on the sofa or the bed, to be petted, and to rub against her arms and legs. But I'm one of those kitties who doesn't like being held, so I'll wriggle out of her arms or lap if she tries to contain me.

I’m no couch potato! No siree! When I’m in a playful mood, I’m very active and spirited! I love to rough-and-tumble, chase, and climb with my sisters. When we’re thoroughly exhausted, we collapse into a kitten puddle.

Although we're available separately, Jumpin’ Jill agrees with me that it’d be the cat’s meow if we could be adopted together. That way we’d keep each other company while you’re at work or on vacation.

If you’re looking for a little girl to bring joy, happiness, and laughter into your life, I’m your gal! Since I’m so mild, gentle, and docile, I’d be perfect in a home with well-behaved small children.

INDEPENDENT & INQUISITIVE

DOB 8/25/21

Hello everyone! I’m Elsa, a sweet, stunningly beautiful black DSH/Bombay mix with a sleek, shiny patent-leather coat and big, copper-penny eyes. I’m independent and very inquisitive. I’m initially shy but am so food-driven that I always nudge closer to my foster meowmy for a good treat.

I love to tumble and pounce, climb and wrestle with my siblings. I can also entertain myself because I love balls with bells, catnip mice, and crinkle toys. Plus I’m very comfortable around the dogs and other cats in my foster home.

Hopefully you're not superstitious because, as Groucho Marx said, "A black cat's crossing your path signifies that he's going somewhere." I’m so grateful that I was rescued into a foster home because black cats are five times more likely to be euthanized at a shelter. Most people who adopt black cats once want to adopt one again because of their outstanding personalities and emotional stability.

I hope you’ll arrange to meet me! I’d like nothing better than for you to open your heart and home to me. I’ll need patience and time to come out of my shell in my new digs, but it will be worth the effort! I’m one little black panther who’ll leave tiny paw prints all over your heart

I can be a bit intimidating toward other cats, but I'm good with cat-friendly dogs. I like to remind them, "You Ain't Nothin But A Hound Dog!"

CALM, AFFECTIONATE, & DELIGHTFUL

DOB 8/1/21

Hi everyone! I’m Fender, a very calm, very affectionate, and overall delightful tortoiseshell gal. Although I’m initially shy, I luxuriate in my foster meowmy’s caressing and holding me closely, and I snuggle right up next to her in order to show her my pleasure.

I consider it a real turning point in my life when my foster meowmy rescued me out of an abusive home where a disabled boy was mistreating me. I’m grateful that I’m safe and happy now that I’m securely situated in my loving HOPE foster home. Tensions are gone, and now I can relax.

I get along great with the kids in my foster home, but I’m scared of the dogs and don’t like to play with the resident cats. So I should be an “only pet-child.”

I eagerly anticipate finding my forever family who will cherish me like my foster meowmy does. Arrange to meet me so we can write new chapters in our lives together.

I was nicknamed “The Supervisor” because I’m always watching out for my three movie-star sisters, Ginger Rogers, Marlene Dietrich, and Rita Hayworth. Like many big brothers, I’m their self-appointed protector who’s always moving and exploring to make sure that they aren’t in any danger.

Arrange to meet me soon. I promise you that you’ll fall in love with what a big, handsome fella I am. And if you’re interested in a pair of kittens, consider also adopting Ginger, Marlene, or Rita. We could keep each other company while you’re at work or on vacation.

LET'S CELEBRATE JULY 4TH WITH THIS DUO

DOB 7/4/21

Hi everyone! We’re Freedom and Sparkler, and we’re siblings who got our names because we were born on the Fourth of July.

Freedom says, “I’m a handsome brown tabby fella with big, innocent gold eyes and strong mackerel (‘stars and) stripes’ on my forearms and chest. I’m quite the lap cat! I love attention, and nothing beats snuggling with my foster meowmy. That’s when I turn on my purr machine, which sounds like a perking coffeepot, and whisper sweet nothings in her ear. When there’s no lap available, I can be found snuggling with a big smelly sneaker.”

Sparkler says, “I’m a quirky, funny, and very loving dilute tortoiseshell with plenty of 'tortie-tude' who reigns on my 'subjects,' i.e. the humans and other resident and foster animals, usually from a high perch like the cat tree. I’m a regular Marco Polo in that I’m a fearless explorer -- there is no box, no open drawer, no perch, no tub that I won't explore. I’m also a bit mischievous as I like to ambush people and animals by jumping out at them when they are most distracted. I guess you'd say that I have a slightly crooked halo, but my crazy antics are usually good for at least one laugh a day for my foster human family.

Our feral mama birthed us on foster meowmy’s front porch. Foster Meowmy brought us all inside, and after we were weaned, she spayed and released Mama, although in the meantime she’s found a home with a neighbor. Although available separately, we think it would be the cat's meow if we could be adopted together. That way we can keep each other company while you're at work or on vacation. Freedom says, "I want to snuggle in your lap," and Sparkler says, "I want to start a new rap sheet of crimes at YOUR house. Let's have a few laughs at my crazy antics."

Freedom (brother of Sparkler)

PURRING SNUGGLE BUDDY

DOB 7/4/21

Hi everyone! I’m Freedom, and I’m a handsome brown tabby fella who got my name because I was born on the Fourth of July. I have big, innocent gold eyes and strong mackerel ("stars and) stripes" on my forearms and chest.

I’m quite the lap cat! I love attention,  and nothing beats snuggling with my foster meowmy. That’s when I turn on  my purr machine, which sounds like a perking coffeepot, and whisper sweet nothings in her ear. When there’s no lap available, I can be found snuggling with a big smelly sneaker.

I actually trained Foster Meowmy on how to play fetch with my favorite squiggly toy. When she’s tired of playing fetch, I "hide" my toy, and the bathtub is the usual repository. While everyone is fast asleep, I’ll entertain myself by batting my toy(s) around in the bathtub. I say toys because some mornings my other 4 or 5 toys, which I’d previously hidden elsewhere, all of a sudden appear in the tub. Foster Meowmy is always puzzled that my “lost” toys have resurfaced, but hiding my favorite toys is just my way of ensuring that I’m their sole possessor.

My feral mama birthed my sister Sparkler and me on foster meowmy’s front porch.
Foster Meowmy brought us all inside, and after Sparkler and I were weaned, she spayed and released Mama, although in the meantime she’s found a home with a neighbor. Although available separately, Sparkler and I think it would be the cat's meow if we could be adopted together. That way we can keep each other company while you're at work or on vacation.

As you can see by my photo, all the cuddles and playtime have created a "furever" smile on my face! Arrange to meet me today! I’d love for YOU to be my next snuggle buddy.

BEAUTIFUL TUXEDO TORTIE

DOB 5/1/2022

Mew! Mew, everyone! I’m Ginger Rogers, a sweet, gentle, unusually beautiful tortoiseshell gal with white tuxedo markings who loves head rubs. I was curious about new surroundings in my foster home but now explore them because I feel comfortably situated.

I’m a lively playmate with my movie-star siblings, Fred Astaire, Marlene Dietrich, and Rita Hayworth. I’d prefer a quiet home, and it’d be the cat’s meow if I could be adopted with my brother or one of my sisters. That way we could keep each other company while you’re at work or on vacation. Godzilla #monster-duo-kitty

You are here:
GOOFY, SASSY FELLA

DOB 8/24/19

Howdy everyone! I’m Godzilla, a goofy, sassy, curious, and energetic brown tabby fella who’s proud of my monster-name. I may be a big boy like Godzilla, but I’m a sweet marshmallow at heart. I absolutely LOVE people and the cuddles that we share.

I get along great with the other gentle cats in my foster home as well as a service dog who drops by occasionally. I’m accustomed to the calm and quiet of my foster home, so I’d probably do best in a home without chaos and without kids.

My sisters Mothra and Woobie were found with me as orphan kittens during Tropical Storm Imelda. My foster mom heard my crying on a driveway, and she says that I’ve continued to let everyone know my opinions ever since. I was the runt of my litter and was bottle-fed by my foster family. Boy did I love my bottle!

Those “nursing” sessions ended up being a great time to bond with my humans and probably explain why I’m so sociable with people. The bottle has now been replaced with cat treats, which have probably contributed to my “plus-size.”

If you’re looking for a friendly feline companion who’s past the mayhem of kittenhood, I’m your man! Although I'm available separately, it would be the cat’s meow if I could be adopted with one of my sisters. That way we could keep each other company while you’re at work or on vacation. Arrange to meet me today! I promise to leave tiny paw prints all over your heart.

Gravy (bonded to Biscuits)

You are here:
UNFLAPPABLE -- NOTHING FAZES ME

DOB 9/4/21

Meow! Meow! I'm Gravy a sweet, affectionate, easygoing brown tabby teenage fella with white tuxedo markings. I’m mostly tabby with a half of a white milk-moustache, white vest, and four white mittens. I'm very bonded to my brother Biscuits, and we go together like peas and carrots.

We love spending time with our foster parents because they shower us with attention. I’ll strike up a conversation with them by showing my tummy to invite a good belly rub. I’m a little chunkier than Biscuits, but that just means that there’s more of me to love.

Henry #garage-gang

You are here:
LET'S PLAY CHASE!

DOB 7/29/22

Mew! Mew, everyone! I’m Henry, an outgoing, friendly brown tabby fella who’s the initiator of my family because I’m always ready for a rollicking game of chase. I love to climb the cat tree in order for Foster Meowmy to reward me with Churu treats. I get along great with the other foster felines, whether they’re tiny kittens or big adults.

My sisters, Frankie and Abigail, and I were dumped in Foster Meowmy’s garage when she went out of town for the day. (Her friends and neighbors have her pegged as the cat-lady sweetheart that she is!) We’d obviously been socialized by someone because we were loving and friendly from the get-go. Foster Meowmy named us after the characers in the TV series Blue Blood.

We have so much fun tumbling and pouncing, climbing and wrestling. When we’re “all played out,” we collapse in a kitten puddle. I’d be the cat’s meow if I could be adopted with one of my siblings or foster-mates so we could keep each other company when you’re at work or on vacation.

If you’re looking for an outgoing, easygoing fella who’ll keep you entertained with my playful antics, I’m your boy. Please offer me a loving home with you! I promise to leave tiny paw prints all over your heart.

Holly #professional-snuggler

You are here:
SWEET & GENTLE BUT JOLLY & BOUNCY

DOB 6/13/22

Meow! Meow, everyone! My name is Holly, and I’m a gentle and sweet “snuggle professional” as well as a jolly, bouncy, and playful “fun-making hobbyist.” Since I really love exploring and learning, my favorite phrase is “Curiosity thrilled the cat!”

I’m a "patched" golden-brown tabby, a. k. a. torbie, with white tuxedo markings. Patched tabby means that I have peach tabby patches sprinkled over my tawny-brown tabby face and torso. I look like I was sprinkled with caramel in a candy factory.

My favorite toys are real-live kitty-cat tails (you never know what they’re going to do next!), followed closely by soft things that I can wrestle with and toss around. When it’s time to rest, sign me up, but clear me a cozy spot, preferably cuddled right next to you.

I was rescued as a kitten while I hung by my foot from the panels of a closed garage door. Although my foot healed perfectly, it’s strictly indoors-only for me now! (Garages are for cars; flats are for cats.)

My foster home has seven cats, a rabbit, and a dog, so I’m comfortable in a variety of group environments. On the other hand, I could be very happy as a solo cat – as long as you love me every day as well as encourage my happy disposition and positive self-esteem. In return, I’ll encourage your happy disposition. Arrange to meet me today so that every day will be a Happy Holly-Day!

Hyatt #Mr-Creamsicle

You are here:
A REAL STRING-PLAYER

DOB 10/27/21

Howdy everyone! I’m Hyatt, a sweet, loving, even-tempered, playful cream tabby fella who loves my foster meowmy for rescuing my from a Hyatt Place parking lot. When she picks me up, I affectionately purr sweet nothings in her ear. When she walks in the room, I roll on my side to greet her and to invite a little attention. Occasionally I'll sit in her lap, but true confessions, I usually jump down because, like most teenagers, I’m restless to have a good time.

I absolutely adore playing, whether it’s with string that Foster Meowmy dangles over my head or with my toys that I actively chase and bat and roll around the room. I like the other resident cats and want to play with them, but they hiss at me. Their response leaves me perplexed because, the way I look at it, we could have so much fun together!

Foster Meowmy says that I have that great Marmalade-Cat temperament, so I’d probably be great with well-mannered kids and cat-friendly dogs, even though neither are in my foster home. Arrange to meet me today. My personality is as soft as my Creamsicle color. My heart has a lot of love to give, and all I need is you!

Indy (son of Luna)

You are here:
EASY-GOING LOVEBUG

DOB 9/1/21

Howdy everyone! I’m Indy, a handsome, easy-going black DSH/Bombay mix dude with a sleek, shiny patent-leather coat and big, copper-penny eyes. It took me a while to learn that being petted, chin scratches, and lap time with my foster dad might just be a good thing. My mom Luna led the way, so I started curling up on my foster dad’s warm chest for a quick power nap and discovered that it was pretty delightful.

My favorite pastimes include following my foster dad into the bathroom (Bombay mixes can be very dog-like), looking handsome, and watching the world go by as I bask in a patch of sunshine on a windowsill. My favorite likes are dry food, toys with tassels, and warm beds.

I hope you're not superstitious because, as Groucho Marx said, "A black cat's crossing your path signifies that he's going somewhere." I’m so glad that I came to my HOPE foster home because black cats are five times more likely to be euthanized at a shelter. Most people who adopt black cats once want to adopt one again because of their outstanding personalities and emotional stability.

Arrange to meet me today. Find out if YOUR chest could be my next napping station!

Jack #big-friendly-giant

You are here:
SUPER SWEET LOVE MUFFIN

DOB 4/1/18

Howdy folks! I’m Jack, a super-sweet, big, long, lean 20-pound bicolor fella who’s mostly white with black on my head, body, and tail and who has large, round green eyes. I'm not flabby -- my body frame is just huge. I have the build of a professional athlete – like a tight end in football -- because there’s no fat on me! I do somersaults in the air to reach my favorite feather wand toy which Foster Meowmy dangles over my head, so there’s got to be plenty of "football field" for me to play.

I’m not just playful, though. No sirree! I’m a giant love muffin. My favorite spots are on my foster meowmy’s shoulder or snuggled beside her in her bed. I also like to cuddle with her on her lap, but let me warn you, it has be MY idea and on MY terms because I don’t like to be picked up and put in her lap. I greet foster meowmy at the door when she comes home and then flip over on my back to invite her to rub my belly.

I’m smart as a whip and very food-driven, so I’ve learned to “come,” give a “high five,” as well as “sit” for Foster Meowmy in order to be rewarded with extra treats. I can be taught just about anything as long as she’s got the time and the treats.

I’m a very gentle, patient big brother with the foster kittens in that I offer my tail as their toy as long as they don't scratch it with their little razor-sharp claws. I’m great with the resident cats, and I’ve even played with a quiet, cat-friendly dog who's come to visit. When I need a “time out” from the foster-kitten mayhem, I like to bask in a patch of sunshine on the windowsill and watch the birds and squirrels outside.

You know, Margaret Mead once said, “One of the oldest human needs is having someone to wonder where you are when you don’t come home at night.” Well, imagine the thrill you’d have if I happily greeted YOU when you came home. If you like big cats with marshmallow hearts, I just may be your match. Arrange to meet me today!

DOB 5/10/22

Hey there! I’m JJ, a cute, playful cream and white tabby guy who likes being around people and craves their attention. I snuggle with my foster meowmy, especially when I’m exhausted from my kitten antics. I absolutely love exploring and playing by myself, but I’ll also rough and tumble with the other foster kitties. I have a spark for adventure and often will dart from room to room to assure myself that I’m not missing what's happening in there. I can't wait to meet you.

Josie (buddy of Pumpkin)

You are here:
FUZZY PURR MONSTER

DOB 7/10/22

Mew! Mew, everyone! I’m Josie, a sweet, quiet fuzzy brown tabby girl who loves to be petted and to expertly “make biscuits.” Although I’m not a lap cat per se, I snuggle right next to my foster meowmy and relish her attention. I never meow, but I can make my purr motor roar – or at least sound like a perking coffeepot – when she scratches my chin or cheek.

I was found as an orphan kitten inside a truck engine, and I'm grateful that I was brought to my foster home to be the companion of another solo orphan calico kitten named Pumpkin. Although she’s a few months older than I am, we quickly bonded with each other and thoroughly enjoy spending time together. We tumble and pounce, climb and wrestle with each other. When we’re exhausted, we like to cuddle up together in our bed or in a soft armchair for a little siesta. When I need a “time out,” I bask in the sunlight on a window sill and watch the birds and squirrels outside.

Although we’re available separately, Pumpkin and I think it would be the cat’s meow if we could be adopted together. That way we could keep each other company while you’re at work or on vacation.

Arrange to meet me today! I promise to leave tiny paw prints all over your heart.

SHY CUDDLEBUG

DOB 3/1/21

Well hello everyone! I’m Kiki, a sweet, gentle tuxedo gal who has a very lopsided milk moustache. Although I’m initially shy, once I feel comfortable, I transform into the world’s best snuggler, as my loving foster meowmy can attest.

I don’t like to be alone, so I enjoy the fellowship of the other gentle cats and dogs in my foster home when Foster Meowmy is out. Since I’m a reserved gal, I’d do best in a quiet home. Gentle cats, feline-friendly dogs, and well-behaved older children would all meet with my approval as long as the house remained quiet.

DOB 3/16/21

Well hello! I’m KitKat, a sweet-tempered, playful dilute tortoiseshell gal who loves to lounge around with my foster meowmy. If she’s not available, I’ll bask in a patch of sunshine on the windowsill and watch the squirrels and birds and the rest of the world go by.

But I’m no couch potato! No sirree! I can play with the best of them! I love to tumble and pounce, climb and wrestle with the other foster kittens, and when we’re all tuckered out, we’ll collapse in a kitten puddle.

I can entertain myself too with balls with bells, catnip mice, and crinkle toys. I live to hunt and fetch lost toys.

WORKING ON HIS BRAVE-HEART

DOB 1/10/22

Hi there! My name is Lady Bug, and I’m a sweet, shy brown tabby girl who’s Cami’s sister. My foster meowmy says that I’ve taken great strides in overcoming my shyness and that I’ve got the potential to become a lap cat someday.

I’m even warming up to the two resident cats in my foster home -- whereas I used to be very skeptical of them. I’m still a little intimidated by the resident dog, and I’d probably thrive best in a quiet, peaceful home without small children.

My foster meowmy is amazed at my multiple napping spots – in a sunbeam on the windowsill, fluffy pillows, and soft blankets. She says that I’ve earned my master’s degree in Napping!

I’m looking forward to finding a forever lap at my new forever home. Although we're available separately, it’d be the cat’s meow if I could be adopted with Cami. That way we could keep each other company while you’re at work or on vacation.

Laura #cat-spring-toy-addict

You are here:
CUDDLY CONSTANT COMPANION

DOB 5/31/22

Howdy folks! I’m Laura, a sweet, playful, and beautifully marked calico kitten who will capture your attention and your heart! On the crown of my head, I have two patches of color, one orange and one black, and they fit together like pieces of a jigsaw puzzle. I have a long, lanky, yet delicate body that likens me to a thoroughbred race horse.

I'm not a lap cat per se, but I love to rest by Foster Meowmy's side when she works from home on her computer, and I sleep by her shoulder when we're in bed at night. Call me Foster Meowmy’s shadow, but I follow her all around the house. I’m very vocal and won’t hesitate to let her know when I want her attention.

My twin sister Fiona and I were rescued with a group of thirteen tiny kittens who had been born to several feral mama cats in a neighborhood. When I first arrived in my foster home, it took me a while to warm up to Foster Meowmy; however, once I got to know her and got acclimated to my new “digs,” I came out of my shell and now relish being her constant companion.

The resident adult cats adore me, and we have lots of fun playing with each other. I can also entertain myself by playing with various toys, but I find the cat spring-toys particularly irresistible and never get bored when I’m batting them around. I spend a lot of time grooming myself to ensure that my fur is clean and shiny. Call me vain, but I primp just so I can look as pretty as I can.

I can be shy at first and clam up in new surroundings, so I don’t show well at adoption events because I freeze up in my cage with all the noise and chaos. If you can get past my temporary discomfort in the unknown and see my loving heart and gentle temperament that quickly blossom in the right environment, I think we could be best forever friends.

Arrange to me meet today so I can leave tiny paw prints all over your heart.

BLOSSOMING PERSONALITY

DOB 5/01/22

Mew! Mew, everyone! I’m Lilo, a sweet, cuddly tortoiseshell gal who has really blossomed since I’ve been under my foster meowmy’s care. My brother Luca and I were rescued from a garage parking lot around Labor Day, and I was very quiet and shy at first. I wanted to be petted, but all I could do was look at Foster Meowmy as if to say, “Will you please pet me?”

Now that I feel comfortable in my new surroundings, I meow to ask for her love and attention, although I’m not as vocal and demanding as Luca. By the way, I love to cuddle with Foster Meowmy when I’m not exploring the aquarium.

Luca and I are very fond of each other. We love to cuddle and are often found napping together in a quiet part of the house. We both get along great with the family dog and other resident cats.

Arrange to meet me today.

Hello everyone! I’m Little Bobbie, and I’m an adorable, petite dilute gray tabby kitten with white mittens and locket. Don’t you love my sweet, angelic face?

I was a two-week-old orphan, covered in leaves and sticks, when I was rescued from a field. Neighbors had witnessed dogs chasing away my mother; alas, she never re-appeared. Several cat lovers took me inside and bottle-fed me along with several other bottle-babies, Butch, Sundance, and Violet, who are my same age.

I have so much fun playing with my surrogate siblings. We tumble and pounce, climb and wrestle with each other, and when we’re exhausted from all the fun, we collapse in a kitten puddle. I’d love to be adopted with one of my favorite playmates. That way we can play all day while you work or go on vacation.

I get along great with the 3 resident adult cats and 2 big dogs in my foster home, so there are a lot of households where I would fit like a glove. Arrange to meet me today!

OUTGOING, PLAYFUL, CUDDLY

DOB 9/1/21

I'm Lizzie, and I'm an outgoing, cuddly and playful dilute tortoiseshell DSH mix gal. I’m a fun, inquisitive kitty with a sweet purr and soft fur. Crowded into a small wire cage, I was found with my sisters, Lydia and Jane, in a parking lot by a Good Samaritan, who fortunately turned to HOPE to find us our forever homes.

My favorite part of the day is snuggling and wiggling in my foster mom's lap. Second favorite part of my day is zooming around the house to chase the other foster kittens. When we're thoroughly exhausted, we collapse into a kitten puddle for a long catnap. I can also entertain myself with furry catnip mice and balls with bells.

If you're looking to enjoy a young lass who will cuddle in your lap as well be more fun than a barrel of monkeys, I'm your girl. It'd be the cat's meow if I could be adopted with another fur buddy. That way we'd keep each other company while you're at work or on vacation. Arrange to meet me today!

Lucky #Velcro-cat

You are here:
FROM DUMPSTER-DIVER TO LAP CAT

DOB 5/15/22

Howdy folks! I’m Lucky, a friendly, sociable, very affectionate black domestic short hair/Bombay mix fella. I look like a mini-black panther with my sleek, shiny patent leather coat and jade-green eyes.

I’m the ultimate Velcro cat because I crave my foster meowmy’s attention and companionship. She has to put me in the bathroom so she can eat in peace without my wanting to sit on her shoulder or lay on her chest or lap. But the rest of the time she welcomes my being a lovey-dovey lap cat as I watch action movies and Animal Planet with her.

I got my name because I AM a very lucky kitten. My rescuer noticed me limping as I hung around the dumpster at Sprouts Farmer’s Market. She thought I was feral, trapped me, and took me to the vet, who diagnosed that my limping was because one of my paws had been burnt, most likely from a car engine.

I was neutered, and my ear was clipped because my rescuer intended to release me as a feral boy after my burnt paw healed. During this delay in my release, I surprised everyone and became a VERY social, people-loving fella who's very adoptable.

If you’re looking for an affectionate as well as drop-dead handsome little black panther, I want to sign up to be your buddy! My heart has so much love to give – all I need is you! It would be my pleasure to be your constant companion.

Luna #head-bunting-queen

You are here:
CALM, AFFECTIONATE "HARLEQUIN"

DOB 6/1/20

Greetings! I’m Luna, a sweet, peaceful, friendly, and loving black and white “harlequin” gal. This means that I’m mostly white with large patches of black splashed on my body. I’m very affectionate and absolutely love to receive my daily dose of cuddles and head scratches.

I make sure to head-bunt my foster meowmy’s ankles whenever she walks past me. I’m just marking her with my pheromones and signaling that she’s familiar, safe, and part of my “colony.”

I love to lay on soft surfaces, such as the couch or the foot of Meowmy’s bed. I also enjoy basking in a sunbeam to take a long nap in a cat tree positioned near a window. When I awake from my catnaps, I take a good yoga stretch and calmly stroll around the house.

Although there are no other pets or small children in my foster home, my foster meowmy predicts that I’d adapt well to most environments since I’m such a calm, relaxed girl.

My sister, my litter of kittens, and I were abandoned at the vet by my former family. It was awful – we were all stuck in a small cage for two months until my foster meowmy “sprang” me from my prison and brought me to her home.

Although I love it here, I’d be overjoyed to find my forever home! Could that be with you? If you’re looking for a calm yet friendly feline to grace your family, I’m your girl!

AFFECTIONATE, EASY-GOING GAL

DOB 1/1/19

Hi everyone, my name is Luna.  I'm an extremely affectionate, easy-going, gentle black DSH gal with a sleek, shiny patent-leather coat and big, green, almond-shaped eyes. If I had gold eyes instead of green, I'd look like a Bombay mix. Who knows exactly what blood courses through my veins without a DNA test, but if you're looking for a solid black cat who "looks like" a Bombay, I'm the gal for you! For sure I'm the best breed of all -- RESCUE!!

My perfect day involves some lap time, a couple of meals, a power nap, a little play, and then sleep time. In my past life, I birthed six kiddos who are now all grown up, and so that means my motherly duties are done. Now I'm  a low-maintenance kitty who's looking for some "me" time with my forever family.

I wormed my way into my foster's heart and home with a few minutes of meowing, purring, and leg-rubbing. If you give me a minute, I think I can do the same with you as well.

DOB 6/27/21

Well hello! I’m Lyra, a calm, quiet, yet freindly and affectionate calico gal who has the sweetest purr that could ever ring in your ears. When I get my purr-motor going, it sounds like a perking coffee pot. I love to lounge around in a comfy kitty bed or snuggle on my foster meowmy’s lap or next to her in her bed.

But I’m no couch potato! No sirree! I tumble and pounce, climb and wrestle with the other foster cats and kittens. I can also entertain myself with balls with bells, catnip mice, and crinkle toys. Plus I have perfect litter-box and scratching-post manners.

I’m dog-friendly as well as kid-friendly because I lived with two dogs as well as two 7-year-old boys in my previous foster homes. So I’m ready for just about any household – the perfect reason for you to arrange to meet me today!

I'm Dash's identical-twin sister, but I have more white on my face. We're part of the Fantastic 7, along with Bang, Bing, Mitz, Blu, Bud, and Maxi. We were born outside, but when our foster meowmy rescued us at one month old, we were brought indoors. Maria #hugging-lapcat

You are here:
INVITES BELLY RUBS

DOB 5/1/21

Meow! Meow, everyone! I’m Maria, a gentle, easy-going, affectionate, and playful patched tabby or “torbie” gal, which means that I’m a brown tabby with patches of orange tabby sprinkled on my face and torso. It looks like caramel got spilled on me in a candy factory.

I’m a lovebug who likes to snuggle in my foster meowmy’s lap or in bed next to her legs. Now that I trust my meowmy, I often plop on the floor to show my tummy and invite her belly rubs. I’m very even-tempered and compatible with the resident three cats and dog.

I had my litter of three red tabby kittens in the shed of my future foster meowmy's neighbor. When the neighbor abandoned me, Foster Meowmy brought my whole family of four inside her home. I’m quite content to escape the hardscrabble life of an outdoor stray who’s constantly running from predators, hiding from danger, protecting my babies, and fearful of having another litter. Occasionally I’m very talkative at night when I get that “call of the wild” to be outside, but then I quiet down when I remind myself that life as an indoor kitty is amazing.

I’m enjoying playing with balls with bells, catnip mice, and crinkle toys as well as lunging to catch the “prey” on the end of the wand toy that Foster Meowmy dangles over my head. Believe it or not, I'm so mellow that I even did beautifully when Meowmy gave me a bath when I first came indoors.

If you’re looking for a super-loving girl who’ll get in your lap and give you hugs, I’m the perfect kitty for you! By the way, adopting a young adult cat who’s out of the crazy kitten stage has its advantages. I’d be less likely to cause chaos in your home or break your favorite possessions. Arrange to meet me today! My heart has so much love to give, all I need is YOU!

Initially I was shy when I arrived at my foster home, but Foster Meowmy coaxed me out of my shell because I adore head rubs. Now I’m very cuddly and love people! I get along with the other gentle cats and dogs in my foster home. I enjoy climbing in boxes and napping in the kitty hammock.

Miss Kitty #friendly-greeter

You are here:
PENULTIMATE BAG LADY

DOB 4/4/17

Well hello everyone! I’m beautiful Miss Kitty, a loving, curious, playful, and intelligent calico girl who, unlike my “Gunsmoke” namesake, is not a saloon proprietress. I adore my foster meowmy and run to the door to greet her when she comes home. I follow her around the house like a dog. I'm very attached to her because she rescued me from a high-kill shelter, for which I’m very grateful.

I often act more like a kitten than my age. I love to play interactively with string that Foster Meowmy dangles for me, and I have a penchant for jumping in boxes and bags when Foster Meowmy unpacks from a shopping trip. Most of the time I get along great with the other cats in my home, but occasionally they aggravate me. I haven't been around dogs in my foster home, and I'd best stay away from homes with small children who aren't well-behaved.

If you’re looking for a stunning beauty who’s past the stage of kitten mayhem, I’m your girl. Adopting a kitty who’s out of the crazy kitten stage has its advantages. I’d be less likely to cause chaos in your home or break your favorite possessions. My kitty-cat heart has so much love to give, but all I need is you! Arrange to meet me today!

Molly #good-golly-miss

You are here:
SWEET, AFFECTIONATE, & LOVABLE

DOB 5/6/22

Hi, I’m Molly, an incredibly sweet, affectionate, laid-back dilute brown “ticked” tabby girl with large, golden eyes. I’m extremely lovable and adore cuddling in Foster Meowmy’s arms. I was a little unsure about being picked up at first, but once I got comfortable with the procedure, I now turn on my purr motor and totally relax when Foster Meowmy embraces me.

My feral mother birthed my sister Neeno and me in my future Foster Meowmy’s back yard. Once Neeno and I were 5 weeks old and could be weaned, Foster Meowmy brought us inside, where we’ve become little social butterflies.

We fit in great with another litter of foster kittens who are about our age. We have so much fun tumbling and pouncing, climbing and wrestling with each other. When we’re thoroughly exhausted from chasing each other, we collapse in a kitten puddle. Then when we wake up, it’s time for another round of fun!

When I need a “time out” from my fur buddies, I’ll bask in a patch of sunlight on the windowsill and watch the squirrels and birds outside. Foster Meowmy thinks it’s so cute that I make little chirping noises at them!

I am quite capable of entertaining myself too. I love balls with bells, crinkle toys, and wand toys that my foster meowmy dangles over my head. I can play with the ball that goes round and round on the multi-level track for hours.

I hope you’ll arrange to meet me. I want you to test the decibels on my purr motor as I whisper sweet nothings in your ear! But watch out! I just might leave tiny paw prints scattered all over your heart.

Mothra #monster-duo-kitty

You are here:
SWEET TALKER

DOB 8/24/19

Well hello everyone! I’m Mothra, a smart, gregarious, curious brown tabby "princess" with white tuxedo markings. I was named after a giant flying moth that was a popular "heroic" monster in horror films. I absolutely LOVE people and the cuddles that we share. I’m a “talker” who chirps and trills for everyone when I greet them, and then I plop down to receive a good belly rub.

I get along great with the other gentle cats in my foster home as well as a service dog who drops by occasionally. I’m accustomed to the calm and quiet of my foster home, so I’d probably do best in a home without chaos and without kids.

My siblings Godzilla and Woobie were found with me as orphan kittens during Tropical Storm Imelda. Although I'm available separately, i would be the cat’s meow if I could be adopted with one of my siblings so we could keep each other company while you’re at work or on vacation.

If you’re looking for a beautiful, chatty princess who’s past the mayhem of kittenhood, I’m your girl! Arrange to meet me today! I promise to leave tiny paw prints all over your heart.

Nicki (sister of Chrissie)

You are here:
REGAL BLACK BEAUTY

DOB 10/1/17

Hi everyone! I’m Nicki, a sweet, quiet, affectionate, beautiful, black DSH/Bombay mix gal with a sleek, shiny patent-leather coat and copper-penny eyes. I'm a "Velcro" cat because I like to sit quietly beside my foster meowmy while she works from home. That's just in case she stops for a break and gives me a scratch on the ear or a pet on top of my head. I luxuriate when she brushes my glossy coat.

I'm a bit plump because I tip the scales at about 13 pounds, but I pride myself at being an elegant plus-size model. I have a lot of extra skin that's soft and squishy, and I adore when Foster Meowmy scratches it. I've never been around kids or dogs, but I get along great with the other cats and kittens in my foster home.

My sister Chrissie and I were rescued from dumpster-diving at an apartment complex in southwest Houston. My favorite parts of the day are treat time and when I get my turn in the hammock. Like human sisters, Chrissie and I argue over whose turn it is for lying in the hammock and getting an even share of the treats.

Hopefully you're not superstitious because, as Groucho Marx said, "A black cat's crossing your path signifies that he's going somewhere." I’m so glad that I was brought to my HOPE foster home instead of a shelter because black cats are five times more likely to be euthanized at a shelter. Most people who adopt black cats once want to adopt one again because of our outstanding personalities and emotional stability.

Although Chrissie and I are available separately, it’d be the cat’s meow if we could be adopted together. That way we’d keep each other company while you’re at work or on vacation. If you're looking for a regal black panther who's past the stage of kitten mayhem, I'm your girl! Arrange to meet me (and Chrissie, for that matter!) today!

Nikki #copper-penny-eyes

You are here:
SPUNKY PLAYMATE

DOB 3/12/22

Mew! Mew, everyone! I’m Nikki, an outgoing, friendly, and incredibly spunky torbie kitten with a large personality. Don't you just love my huge, mesmerizing copper-penny eyes? "Torbie" means that I have peach-tabby patches scattered on my otherwise-tabby head and torso. It looks like I got sprinkled with caramel in a candy factory.

I’m very inquisitive and must know what my foster hooman family is doing at all times. I’m genuinely interested in all their activities and want to be right in the middle of the action so I can participate. I never tire of playing with my hoomans and their resident cats. Since I’m very intelligent, I need playtime to keep me both physically and mentally fit so I won’t get bored.

Since I LOVE to drink from running water, my foster meowmy will suggest that my adoptive family buy a pet water fountain for me. Boy, howdy! That would be the cat’s meow!

My birth momma Callie was a frightened, under-nourished teenager who, after she had my litter, birthed a second litter outside at an apartment complex. A Good Samaritan, who had been feeding Momma Callie, was able to persuade my future foster meowmy to take Momma and my tiny younger half-siblings inside her home to safety. No one knows what happened to the rest of my litter, but fortunately when my HOPE foster meowmy found out that I was the sole survivor and was now alone, she came back and brought me home with her too.

I’m the spitting image of Momma Callie, and although we’d been separated for several months, we recognized each other when we were re-united. Since Momma Callie is just a teenager, she’s got plenty of spunk herself, and so we love to run and play together. Although I'm available separately, it would be great if we could be adopted together, although Momma is very shy with strangers and wouldn’t show well at a HOPE adoption event.

Arrange to meet me today! I promise to be a wonderful addition to your family.

DOB 5/10/22

Howdy everyone! I’m Noche, a lovable and fun-loving black domestic short hair/Bombay mix fella with white toes. To meet me is to fall in love with me. Yes, I’m full of quirks:

  • guarding my food bowl in case some hungry person tries to steal my food
  • sleeping  in the shower stall
  • zooming around the house for no reason
  • throwing my toys in the water bowl

I’m definitely full of personality, but I also take time to come by and get head rubs or sit briefly in my foster meowmy’s lap.

If you’re looking for a fella who’ll keep you entertained and guessing what I might do next, I’m the young man for you! Arrange to meet me today!

Parker (brother of Phineas)

You are here:
ATTENTION HOG!

DOB 4/9/22

Howdy! I’m Parker, a dapper tuxedo fella who’s bold and playful. Don’t I have the most adorable bright pink (flesh) and white (fur) nose that you’ve ever seen? I love to be the center of attention and get jealous when everyone’s not focused on me! I have a habit of wrapping myself around my foster meowmy’s ankles.

My favorite part of the day is when she engages me with the wand toy! Boy howdy, can I jump and chase those feathers! I love to cuddle with both the foster kittens and the resident cats. Sometimes I’m Mr. Mischief because I hog all the toys!

My four siblings and I were born to our mama in foster care just a week after she was rescued off the streets of southwest Houston.  My favorite brother Phineas and I tumble and pounce, climb and wrestle, and when we’re thoroughly exhausted, we collapse in a kitten puddle. It would be the cat's meow if I could be adopted with Parker. That way we could keep each other company while you're at work or on vacation.

Arrange to meet me today! I promise to leave little paw prints all over your heart.

Penguin #half-masked-face-of-Drama

You are here:
CUDDLY FLUFF BALL

DOB 12/1/18

Hi everyone! I'm Penguin, a sweet, gentle, albeit prissy medium-haired tuxedo gal who’s a big fluff ball with a splendid plume of a tail. Don't you love my beautifully marked face that resembles the half-masked face of Drama?

I LOVE people and the cuddles that we share. When I’m situated near my foster meowmy, I usually make biscuits as well as snuggle with her. But I’m no couch potato! No sirree! I love to play with my foster-kitty-mates Godzilla, Mothra, and Woobie as well as when my foster meowmy dangles the wand toy over my head. I can also entertain myself with balls with bells, catnip mice, and crinkle balls.

I get along great with the other gentle resident cats in my foster home as well as a service dog who drops by occasionally. I'm accustomed to the calm and quiet of my foster home, so I'd probably do best in a home without chaos and without kids.

I was rescued from a cat colony where I was struggling for my next meal. Foster Meowmy realized that I was too social to be feral, so she welcomed me into her home, where I’ve adjusted very well to its indoor comforts. I’m so grateful that my hardscrabble days as a stray cat are over!

Although I'm available separately, it would be the cat's meow if I could be adopted with Godzilla, Mothra, or Woobie so we could keep each other company while you're at work or on vacation. If you're looking for a prissy ball of fluff who's past the mayhem of kittenhood, I'm your girl! Arrange to meet me today! I promise to leave tiny paw prints all over your heart.

Phineas (brother of Parker)

You are here:
PLAYFUL CUDDLER

DOB 4/9/22

Howdy! Phineas is my name, and I'm a sweet, playful brown ticked tabby with green-yellow eyes and beautiful spots on my tummy. I just love to be held and cuddled by my foster meowmy. I have an unusual meow, and I can be quite vocal at meal time. Sometimes I meow to my foster meowmy from another room, and when she checks on me, there’s nothing wrong. I have her wrapped around my little paw.

My four siblings and I were born to our mama in foster care just a week after she was rescued off the streets of southwest Houston. At first I was the runt of the litter, but now I've caught up with the rest of them. What I lack in size, I make up in personality.

I get along great with both the foster kittens and the resident adult cats. My favorite brother Parker and I tumble and pounce, climb and wrestle, and when we’re thoroughly exhausted, we collapse in a kitten puddle. It would be the cat's meow if I could be adopted with Parker. That way we could keep each other company while you're at work or on vacation.

Arrange to meet me today! I promise to leave little paw prints all over your heart.

MISCHIEVOUS RED BOY

DOB 4/29/22

Potato is a very affectionate but mischievous little guy. He loves to play with other kitties, but appreciates human attention too. He gets along great with the kids and resident dogs in his foster home.

This guy likes to let you know if his food bowl is empty or if he's lost his toys. If you want a kitty with lots of character, Potato is your guy.

Pumpkin (buddy of Josie)

You are here:
FRIENDLY, SOCIABLE LAP KITTEN

DOB 4/9/22

Mew! Mew, everyone! I’m Pumpkin, a super-social, cuddly dilute calico gal who loves to curl up in my foster meowmy’s lap and sit on her shoulder. My rescue story is quite dramatic! I was found as an orphaned kitten in the middle of Beltway 8, and Foster Meowmy assumes that I fell out or was thrown out of a car. I was a little banged up, and the end of my tail was broken. I never want to feel abandoned and alone like that again!

Once I was safely inside my foster home, I needed reassurance and cried whenever Foster Meowmy wasn’t with me. Thank heavens -- she started carrying me around in a sling, just like a baby, so that we could spend more time together. Boy howdy! Did that do the trick! Plus it sealed our relationship and helped make me the people-friendly, sociable Velcro kitty that I am today.

Then things got even better when my feline buddy Josie arrived in my foster home. Although she’s a few months younger than I am, we quickly bonded with each other. Because Josie and I love to spend time together, I’m not quite so needy of my foster meowmy’s time and attention any more.

Josie and I have so much fun playing together, and I enjoy entertaining myself with balls with bells, catnip mice, and crinkle toys. I love it when Foster Meowmy waves the wand toy over my head! When I need a little “me” time, I’m content to bask in a patch of sunlight on the window sill and watch the birds and squirrels outside.

Recognizing how much I hate to be alone, Foster Meowmy thinks I’d do best with a hooman or an empty nester who’s home most of the time. Otherwise, I’d do best in a home with another cat. Josie and I think it’d be the cat’s meow if we could be adopted together so we could keep each other company while you’re at work or on vacation.

Could that be with you? My heart has so much love to give, all I need is YOU! Arrange to meet me today!

Pusa #a-real-people-cat

You are here:
HAS THUMBPRINT OF GOD ON HER NOSE

DOB 8/1/21

Hi there! I’m Pusa, a sweet, affectionate, people-friendly Turkish Van mix gal who’s mostly white with black on my head and tail. Don’t you just love the adorable smudge on my nose as well as my beautiful amber eyes? When there's a spot on a van like I have on my nose, Turks consider this to be the thumbprint of God.

I absolutely love to be around my foster meowmy. In fact, I’d prefer to spend time with her instead of my fellow felines because I was raised as a solo kitty. I’m perfectly happy to entertain myself by playing with my toys or exploring my environment. I’d get along with other friendly kitties in my new home as long as it’s a quiet home.

Since I’m such a people-cat, I can’t imagine anyone who wouldn’t want a sweet, whimsically marked beauty like me to be their companion. Arrange to meet me today and give me a chance to share the good life with YOU!

Rainbow #multi-color-coat

You are here:
PICK ME UP AND LET ME SNUGGLE!

DOB 5/26/21

I’m Rainbow, an ultra-sweet dilute tortoiseshell with white tuxedo markings (a locket and mittens). I'm one girl who just loves to be picked up and cuddled. I got my name because my coat's a rainbow of beautiful, pleasing colors -- just like my pleasant, friendly personality.

I was a teenage mom who fortunately was rescued with my two kittens Sunny and Moonshine from the street curb of a southwest Houston neighborhood. Our rescuer thought we had been hit by a car and took us to a HOPE foster, but luckily we were fine --- just hot and hungry.

I was a great mom and took excellent care of my babies, although I’ve enjoyed a little "me" time alone as they got older. I'm sure that you know how demanding kiddos can be when they're tiny! I AM still a teenager with a lot of spunk! I love playing chase with the other cats in my foster home.

I’m a sweetie who will make a great addition to your home. You know, adopting a kitty who’s out of the crazy kitten stage has its advantages. I’d be less likely to cause chaos in your home or break your favorite possessions. If you’re looking for a kitty who gets along with humans as well as plays peacefully with other cats, I’m your girl!

Rakki #lucky-boy

You are here:
LIKES TO RIDE ON MEOWMY'S SHOULDER

DOB 4/9/22

Meow, meow everyone! I’m Rakki, an affectionate, friendly, easygoing, playful brown tabby fella who likes to ride on my foster meowmy’s shoulder. My name means “luck” in Japanese, and I was very fortunate to be rescued as a tiny orphan kitten from a Jack-in-the-Box drive-through. I don’t even like to think how I could’ve gotten . . . well, I won’t say it, but you know what cars do to outdoor kitties.

Boy howdy! I was relieved to be brought inside my foster home. The adult kitties stepped up like champs and taught me all the things my mama hadn’t had a chance to teach me. Because I got so much attention and cuddling as a bottle-baby, I’m very fond of and affectionate with people as a result. My happy foster home life just proves that “every cloud has a silver lining.”

I’m quite the talker. Foster Meowmy says that I’m an outspoken supervisor of humans. I do like to chat with her about my day as well as remind her when it’s supper time. I tend to follow the resident adult cats around, and I have so much fun playing with the other foster kittens. We tumble and pounce, climb and wrestle, and when we’re thoroughly exhausted, we collapse in a kitten puddle.

I hope you’ll arrange to meet me because I’m just plain fun to be around. You need to experience me for yourself. It would be great if I could be adopted with another fur buddy so somebody could keep me company while you’re at work or on vacation. Arrange to meet me today! I just might give you a hug while I ride on your shoulder!

Rusty #love-magnet

You are here:
FRIENDLY, CUDDLY TEDDY BEAR WITH A BIG HEART

DOB 2/11/19

Howdy! I’m Rusty, a cuddly teddy bear who loves to be petted and brushed. Everyone who meets me is amazed at how friendly I am despite all that I’ve been through in my short life.

I showed up one evening in the garage of a HOPE foster meowmy. I was underweight, and everyone thought that I was blind because my eyes looked so strange.

It ended up that my left eye was in such bad shape that it had to be removed. My right eye was missing its eyelid, and the vet did experimental surgery to rebuild my eyelid. The jury is still out if the surgery has been successful, but most importantly, I’m getting along quite nicely. Through all of my surgeries and medicines, I’ve maintained my sweet, friendly disposition that captures everyone’s hearts. I must admit that I’m a favorite among the vet staff.

I’ve loved chowing down to my heart’s content in my foster home, and I’ve gained more than 4 pounds since I showed up. In fact, now I’m a bit on the chubby side. By the way, my GI tract works best with wet food instead of dry.

The vet says that I’ll do best if I’m adopted into a quiet, low-stress environment. I hope you’ll consider adopting me despite my special needs. If you’ll look beyond the slight imperfections of my strange eyes, you’ll be rewarded with a truly loveable red boy.

Remember if you will the fairy tales about “Beauty and the Beast” as well as the “Frog Prince,” and you’ll be reminded that it’s what’s on the inside of my big heart that counts. If you’ll adopt me, I promise to leave little paw prints all over your heart.

Shrimp #friendly-greeter

You are here:
LOVES TO GET & GIVE ATTENTION

DOB 3/1/21

Hello everyone! I’m Shrimp, an affectionate, playful, curious tuxedo gal with white mittens, vest, and belly. I love my foster meowmy, especially when she scratches under my ears and pets me. When she comes home, I meow to greet her and rub against her legs to plant my pheromones. If she doesn’t pay me enough attention, I’ll paw at her foot so she’ll look down and tell me that she’s glad to see me.

I’m a playful young girl who chases balls with bells, catnip mice, and crinkle toys. However, I show my acrobatic prowess when I leap in the air to catch wand toys or chase the laser pointer. I'm good around other friendly cats but haven't been around kids or dogs and would need to be cautious until I knew they were friendly and safe.

My mother, brother, and I were first seen at the feeding station of a cat colony when I was just a kitten. I was always quick to warm up to my feeders and seemed more interested in their attention than food. Because of the scorching Houston summer lately and a bully cat at the colony, I voluntarily chose to come inside my foster home and have been happily indoors ever since. I quickly adjusted to the amenities of the indoor lifestyle and never regret saying goodbye to the hardscrabble outdoor life.

I’m a sweet girl, although I can be initially shy in new places. I may need a little patience in settling into my forever home, but I anticipate running to greet my new foster family when they come home. As Margaret Mead once said, "One of the oldest human needs is having someone to wonder where you are when you don't come home at night." I'm hoping to be that "someone" to meet that need for you!  Arrange to meet me today!

Shya (sister of Tigger Jr)

You are here:
SNUGGLING BISCUIT-MAKER

DOB 4/20/22

Hi! My name is Shya, and I got my moniker because I am the shyest in my litter of three red tabbies. I used to hide behind my brothers when I first met my foster family, but now I curl up next to Foster Meowmy and make biscuits when she pets me. Sweet, peaceful, and affectionate, I’m the smallest and the only girl, and that makes me special because red tabby girls are rare.

I love to tumble and pounce, climb and wrestle with my twin brother, Tigger Junior, with whom I’m particularly bonded. We chase each other around the room until we’re exhausted, and that’s when we settle down for some petting from our foster meowmy or some snuggly catnapping together.

I can entertain myself too -- especially with soft balls and catnip mice. And boy howdy! I love it when Foster Meowmy waves the wand toy over my head so I can show off my jumping prowess as I stab at my “prey.” I also have perfect scratching-post manners, which is a little exercise in itself.

When my brothers and I were about 10 weeks old, my feline momma brought us into my future foster meowmy’s back yard in search of a steady food supply. Foster Meowmy first managed to take my momma and one brother inside, and later my other brother and I were finally convinced that an indoor climate was very much preferred to Houston’s scorching summer heat. What a good decision!!

If you're looking for a sweet, quiet kitty who loves cuddles, I’m your girl! And if you're interested in a bonded pair, consider adopting my twin brother Tigger Junior as well. We could keep each other company while you're at work or on vacation.

Simon #pick-me-up-and-hold-me

You are here:
AFFECTIONATE AND NOT SHY WITH STRANGERS

DOB 4/8/18

Hi everyone! My name is Simon, and I’m a sweet, friendly, affectionate, and playful brown tabby fella with gorgeous jade-green eyes. I have short legs, so I look adorable when I walk. (I may have a little Munchkin-cat blood coursing through my veins.)

I love spending time with my foster family, and I’m not shy at all about meeting new people. I’m so laid-back that I’m one of those rare kitties who doesn’t mind being handled or picked up.

I luxuriate when my foster meowmy puts her forehead onto mine and give me kisses. Getting my head petted and chin scratched are right up there as “tops” in my book. On the other hand, getting my tummy rubbed is not so pleasant (as many other kitties will agree), so I’ll gently soft-paw Foster Meowmy to tell her to stop.

Usually I’m a quiet kitty who minds my own business, but then again sometimes I can be very talkative. Foster Meowmy thinks I’ve got a cute, sweet voice that’s like a chirping meow.

I was rescued from a rough life on the streets, so I welcomed the brand-new indoor amenities of my “donut” bed as well as wand toys and balls with bells. I like to bask in a sunbeam on the windowsill as I watch the squirrels and birds outside.

I’m lucky in that I won’t ever have to fight to survive a hardscrabble life of a street-stray ever again. I’m not so lucky in that I contracted FIV (feline immunodeficiency virus), probably from a deep bite wound from an intact male cat. (Unlike Feline Leukemia, FIV is NOT passed on “casually” by sharing food bowls and litter boxes with other household cats.) Being FIV positive means that I should live an average life span as long as special attention is routinely given to my dental health and prompt attention is given to secondary infections of the urinary tract or upper respiratory system.

I get along pretty well with other cats as well as the small dogs in my foster home, but it would be just fine if I were the only cat. Incidentally, I have perfect litter box and scratching-post manners.

Foster Meowmy says that I’m very resilient from my stint as stray and that I’m “the sweetest cat in the whole world.” She thinks I would really make anyone happy. I’m just looking for a place to call my own and where I can soak up all the love and attention that can be showered on me. Could you be the forever family I’ve been waiting for?

Snoopy #cartoon-kitten

You are here:
MR. CONGENIALITY

DOB 9/5/22

Mew! Mew, everyone! I’m one of the “cartoon kittens” because my name is Snoopy. I’m a friendly, outgoing, energetic, and particularly handsome cream-tabby bicolor fella. “Bicolor” means that I’m half white with cream tabby on my head, back, and tail. I love to chase moving objects, strings, feathers on a wand toy, and just about anything that catches my attention. When someone opens a door, I’m there in a jiffy to greet them. Just call me “Mr. Congeniality.”

I love to run around and play with my siblings. In fact, I tumble and pounce, climb and wrestle with all six of the foster kittens, including my three siblings. When I’m exhausted from my kitten antics, I love to cuddle with my sisters and brother in my cat bed or the hammock.

Pluto, Pinky, Candy, and I were born to my momma Filomina outside in an apartment complex. Since she was such a sweet, friendly stray who always wanted to be petted, Foster Meowmy thinks that she was once someone’s pet who was abandoned when her family moved out. Thank heavens Foster Meowmy rescued all of us and brought us into her loving foster home.

I hope my handsome adorableness has captured your eye and that you’re anxious to meet me. Arrange that today, and if you’re looking for a pair, consider adopting Candy too. That way we can keep each other company while you’re at work or on vacation.

Soleil (sister of Cirque)

You are here:
FUNNY LITTLE CIRCUS PERFORMER

DOB 4/1/22

Hello everyone! I’m Soleil, a friendly, easygoing, affectionate, playful dilute patched tabby (also called a torbie) with white tuxedo markings who loves cuddling in my foster meowmy's lap as much as with my brother Cirque. My foster meowmy loves to watch Cirque and me do high-flying somersaults as we try to catch the wand toy, and that’s how we got our circus-performer monikers. We also play together by tumbling and pouncing, climbing and wrestling until we’re thoroughly exhausted, and then we collapse in a kitten puddle.

Cirque has been my emotional support since I was a malnourished baby who just couldn’t seem to gain weight. Although I'm healthy and spunky now, albeit petite, we’ve become very bonded to each other through my process of achieving a normal weight. So we think it would be the cat’s meow if we could be adopted together. We can’t imagine living without cuddling each other, and we could keep each other company while you’re at work or on vacation. Arrange to meet us today.

Sparkler (sister of Freedom)

You are here:
GAL WITH THE CROOKED HALO

DOB 7/4/21

Hi everyone! I’m Sparkler, and I’m a quirky, funny, and very loving dilute tortoiseshell gal who got my name because I was born on the Fourth of July. I’m a regular Marco Polo in that I’m a fearless explorer -- there is no box, no open drawer, no perch, no tub that I won't explore. I’m also a bit mischievous as I like to ambush people and animals by jumping out at them when they are most distracted. I may have a crooked halo, but my crazy antics are good for at least one laugh a day for my foster family of humans.

I’ve got the typical “tortie-tude” because I was the one who decided when and if I wanted my foster meowmy’s attention. After I concluded that foster meowmy is okay, she’s totally fallen in love with me. Nevertheless, I reign on my “subjects,” i.e. the humans and other resident and foster animals, usually from a high perch like the cat tree.

My feral mama birthed my brother Freedom and me on foster meowmy’s front porch.
Foster Meowmy brought us all inside, and after Freedom and I were weaned, she spayed and released Mama, although in the meantime she’s found a home with a neighbor.

It’s been fun ever since I came inside my foster home, but I know that I need to find a forever home of my own. Although available separately, Sparkler and I think it would be the cat's meow if we could be adopted together. That way we can keep each other company while you're at work or on vacation.

Arrange to meet me and find out for yourself that I’m well named because of my sparkling personality. Let’s share some laughs together about my quirky antics! I'm ready to start my new rap sheet of crimes at YOUR house!

SUGAR 'N SPICE 'N EVERYTHING NICE

DOB 4/25/22

Well hello! I’m Spice, a social, gentle, playful calico gal who is “spicy” and wild but sweet. I love to give face kisses and hugs when I cuddle with my foster meowmy. You know how the rhyme goes, “Sugar and spice, and everything nice.” That’s me to a “T.”

My identical calico sisters Princess and Zoe were rescued with me, and I love to play with them as well as the other foster cats. We tumble and pounce, climb and wrestle, and when we’re exhausted, we collapse in a kitten puddle. Although we're available separately, it would be the cat's meow if I could be adopted with one of my sisters so we can keep each other company while you're at work or on vacation.

Arrange to meet me today! I just may nuzzle a kiss on your cheek if it I get the whim.

Sprinkles #cupcake-sweet

You are here:
CUDDLY PURR MACHINE

DOB 5/1/22

Meow! Meow, everyone! I’m Sprinkles, a very sweet, friendly, affectionate, energetic silver “tuxedo” tabby with white mittens and vest. My striking amber eyes are sure to mesmerize you. I’m very loving and constantly reward my foster meowmy with head butts, loud purrs, and cuddles. I’m outgoing, well-socialized, and well-behaved – pretty much the perfect kitten, if you ask me! What more could you ask for?

Don’t get the idea that I’m a couch potato, though! No sirree! I’m as active as any kitten who loves to play and run around. The other foster kittens and I have so much fun wrestling and chasing each other up and down the cat tree. I can also entertain myself by batting around balls with bells, but my favorite playtime is when Foster Meowmy dangles the wand toy over my head. Boy, howdy! Is that ever fun!

I was found in the back yard of a HOPE volunteer's neighbor. I f you're looking for a playful kitten who's as sweet as a Sprinkles cupcake, I'm your gal. Arrange to meet me today! I think it’d be fun for you to guess the decibels on my purr motor, which sounds like a perking coffee pot.

HUGS PEOPLE WHEN PICKED UP

DOB 4/7/22

Howdy everyone! My name is Sundance, but you can call me Sunny. I’m a friendly, affectionate, sociable, and handsome male "ticked" brown tabby fella with mesmerizing green eyes. I’ll literally hug you when you pick me up and then reward you by turning on my purr motor, which sounds like a perking coffeepot.

I was a tiny unweaned orphan kitten when my two littermates, Butch and Violet, and I were found in the wall of an old house. A few cat lovers with a lot of determination used saws and hammers finally to free us. Then I was bottle-fed by a team of people who loved me so much, which may explain why I’m so well socialized to people.

I have so much fun playing with my siblings as well as my foster mates, Little Bobbie and Tango, who are my same age. We tumble and pounce, climb and wrestle, and when we’re exhausted from all the fun, we collapse in a kitten puddle.

It would be the cat’s meow if I could be adopted with another of my fur buddies so we can keep each other company while you’re at work or on vacation. Plus then you’ll get an extra big bunch of love for a long, long time.

I get along great with the 3 resident adult cats and 2 big dogs in my foster home, so there are a lot of households where I would fit like a glove. Arrange to meet me today!

ALL PURRS AND CUDDLES

DOB 3/3/22

Hello! I’m sweet, curious Taffie, a fluffy gal with unusual "harlequin" markings. This means that I’m mostly white with several large patches of dark gray. I think I’m beautifully disguised with my mysterious Mardi Gras mask across my eyes on my adorable face.

My mother Trudy, my three siblings, and I were left alone in a hot apartment when our family moved out. Luckily the maintenance man came a few days later and rescued us!

I’m the smallest of my siblings, but that hasn’t stopped me one bit! I’m initially a bit shy and hesitant, but once I settle into your arms, I’m all purrs and cuddles. I love the way my foster meowmy interacts with me – she talks to me as well as shows me things that pique my curiosity.

I love my foster home and my nurturing foster meowmy, but I’m ready to write a new chapter in my life – starring you! I had a hard start in life, but I’m hoping for a loving home with air conditioning!

Tallie and I think that it would be the cat’s meow if we could be adopted together. We’re a beautifully matched pair who could keep each other company while you’re at work or on vacation. I hope you’ll arrange to meet me (and Tallie too, for that matter!) today.

LOVES TO RECLINE ON A PILLOW LIKE CLEOPATRA

DOB 3/3/22

Hello! I’m sweet, beautiful Tallie, a medium-haired Turkish Van mix gal. I'm called a "van" because I'm mostly white with black markings on my head and tail. The Turks call it the thumbprint of God when a van has a spot on her back like I do. Who knows if Turkish Van blood is coursing through my veins without a DNA test, but if you're looking for a cat who "looks like" a Turkish Van, I'm your girl. For sure, I'm the best breed of all -- RESCUE!

My mother Trudy along with me and by three siblings were left in an apartment alone when our family moved out.  Luckily the maintenance man came a few days later and rescued us!

My sister Taffie and I like to play the "beautiful cats on the pillow" game – that is whenever we’re not wrestling each other over a feather toy.

I love my foster home and my nurturing foster meowmy, but I’m ready to write a new chapter in my life – starring you! I’m anxious to learn that my adopter can be kind.

Taffie and I think that it would be the cat’s meow if we could be adopted together. We’re a beautifully matched pair (she’s white on gray) who could keep each other company while you’re at work or on vacation. I hope you’ll arrange to meet me (and Tillie too, for that matter!) today.

Tango #warm-and-friendly

You are here:
"MOST WONDERFUL OF KITTENS"

DOB 4/7/22

Howdy everyone! I’m Tango, a loving and mellow yet funny and lively red tabby fella with a warm personality and a great sense of humor. Foster Meowmy describes me as “the most wonderful of kittens who deserves an A+ home.”

I was found as an orphan in the street next to a pile of debris in the Lindale area. I fit right into my foster home where there were several other rescued kittens who were my same age, although we‘re not related.

I have so much fun playing with my surrogate siblings. We tumble and pounce, climb and wrestle with each other, and when we’re thoroughly exhausted from all the fun, we collapse in a kitten puddle.

It would be the cat’s meow if I could be adopted with one of my foster mates Butch, Sundance, Little Bobbie, or Violet. I’d be happy to give you an extra kiss because we could keep each other company while you’re at work or on vacation.

I get along great with the 3 resident adult cats and 2 big dogs in my foster home, so there are a lot of households where I would fit like a glove. Arrange to meet me today! You'll fall in love with me the second you meet me. I'm all ready to settle into my A+ new home!

STUNNING CLASSIC TABBY

DOB 12/01/20

Meow! Meow, everyone! I’m Tara, a lovely, sweet, beautiful brown Classic tabby with marble swirls on my sides, and I’d love to become your new best friend. I crave human attention and follow my foster meowmy around just in case I can get a head rub from her. I can take a hint, though, if she’s busy with other activities, and I’ll go off on my own to sit quietly watching birds from the window or on the cat tree.

I was found with my kittens, Tatum and Tessa, at a very busy carwash in East Downtown. Thank heavens a Good Samaritan brought us all to our HOPE foster home. Now that I've weaned my kittens, I'm ready for a home of my own. Since I had to be protective of my babies, I’m very selective of allowing other kitties to be my buddy.

Arrange to meet me today because I’d adore to become your best forever friend and receive all your loving attention.

Teddy (brother of Alexander)

You are here:
I WANT TO BE YOUR TEDDY BEAR!

DOB 8/26/21

Super Sweet, just like a teddy bear, I’m Mr. Teddy the little blue tabby.  My hooman likes to cuddle me like a baby, and well, I like it most of the time.  I got presents for Christmas, but I didn’t really care.  I would have been just fine with nothing. I like some kisses and cuddles but not too many.  I still have kitten business to do.

I have plenty of brothers and sisters to keep me entertained.  Even though I'm the independent one of the bunch, I still love snuggling close and sleeping on the bed.  I’m very confident and pretty pleased with how I’m growing up.

I’m the best little helper.  I can help you sweep, fold the laundry, make the bed, change the filter.  There’s no end to the chores we can accomplish!  My siblings are Penelope, Slade, and Alexander.  Please check them out and see if we need to have a playmate.

Tigger Jr #friendly-greeter

You are here:
LOVES ATTENTION AND PETTING

DOB 4/20/22

Meow! Meow, everyone!  I’m Tigger Junior, a sweet, friendly, outgoing, and playful "mocha" cream tabby fella who just loves attention from my hoomans. Although I’m not a lap cat per se, I love to snuggle up next to my foster meowmy’s legs and sleep beside her while she’s watching TV or napping.

I’m almost dog-like in the way I greet my foster meowmy at the door with a little bounce, and then I stand on my hind legs to make sure she knows that I want to be petted. Call me her shadow, but I follow her all around the house just to see what she’s up to.

Like my namesake, I can be bouncy and full of joy – especially when someone is waving the wand toy over my head. Boy howdy! I love to show off my prowess by jumping to catch the “prey.” I’m inquisitive and can make a toy of almost anything that I find. Even though I’m the color of a mocha frappuccino, I have orange-cat energy. Sometimes I get the zoomies and chase my sweet sister Shya around the room, and then we collapse in a kitten puddle when we’re exhausted.

When my brother, sister, and I were about 10 weeks old, my feline momma brought us into my future foster meowmy’s back yard in search of a steady food supply. Thankfully, Foster Meowmy took in my family of four to help us find a better life. It didn’t take much to convince me that an indoor climate was very much preferred to Houston’s scorching summer heat.

If you’re looking for an energetic kitten who also loves to cuddle, I’m your boy! And if you're interested in a bonded pair, consider adopting my twin sister Shya as well. We could keep each other company while you're at work or on vacation.

Arrange to meet me today as I’d love to be the one waiting at the door for you to get home and play wand toy with me! You know Margaret Mead once said, “One of the oldest human needs is having someone to wonder where you are when you don’t come home at night.” See? I could be a wonderful furry friend who could fulfill your needs too!

Tinsley

You are here:
SHE JUST HELPS HERSELF!

DOB 9/1/20

Hi! I’m Tinsley, a beautiful medium-haired gray tabby with white tuxedo markings. Don't you love my 4 white mittens?

I'm the mommy of 8 kittens! I took courtship to a whole new level! But I finished raising my little rug rats and am ready for a great life with a wonderful home. I'm the best momma and very protective of them even now.  My kids are Alexander, Blue, Chloe, Penelope, Phoebe, Slade, Slate and Teddy.  You can check out all of my cutie babies. (You can see our story and watch us grow on Tiktok @tenblackcats.)

I'm very resourceful from the time I spent on the streets of Houston.  This means that if I want something I will help myself … Unopened bag of dry food?  no problem; Bunny’s litter box? mine;  Closed doors? I can probably open them; Telling the hooman where to shove off? done; Keeping the hooman’s personal cats in line?  no question...

Basically I get my way, but for the most part, I'm a benevolent overlord. I love boxes, cat trees, sunny windows…and your fluffy bed.

Tommy #awesome-dude

You are here:
MR. ULTIMATE CONGENIALITY

DOB 1/21/21

Howdy! I’m Tommy, and I’m a very affectionate, friendly, gentle, talkative black-and-white bicolor fella who absolutely loves everyone. You name it – adults, toddlers, dogs, puppies, cats, kittens, and even strangers. Nothing – even the smoke alarm – fazes me.

My foster meowmy just thinks I’m awesome because I’m the friendliest cat she’s ever had. My congenial personality even wins over people who don’t otherwise like cats. She thinks I’m so adorable because I welcome (human) guests as well as new foster animals. Because so many cats can be real curmudgeons, I guess it’s rather unique that I’m nice to everyone.

I love to get my share of attention as well as food. Mealtime is my favorite part of the day, and I greet Foster Meowmy every morning by chirping, “Is it breakfast time?” I may lead her to the pantry door where the canned food is kept.

I’ve been known to follow Foster Meowmy around like a dog. When I sit against the wall or sofa and stretch out my paws to her, she knows I’m trying to get her attention.

I’m also playful with balls with bells, catnip mice, and wand toys. I play big brother to a lot of the little kittens by teaching them how to enjoy the cat tree, scratching post, and soft beds. When I’m not serving as the Host with the Most, I’ll spend a few quiet moments by the window to watch the squirrels or people passing by.

Foster Meowmy has nothing but superlatives to say about me: “We love Tommy very much . . . He’s the perfect kitty out of all of them. . . He’d be the greatest addition to anyone’s home.”

Even though I love it in my foster home, I know it’s best that I have a forever home of my own. I’d fit like a glove in many households since I’d adjust so easily to a loving family and other friendly animals. Arrange to meet me today!

LOVES PEOPLE

DOB 5/8/22

Howdy, everyone! I’m Tony, a sweet, friendly, handsome silver tabby American Shorthair fella with unusually round, golden eyes. I love people so much that I cry when I think I’m alone; therefore Foster Meowmy wants me to be adopted into a home where people are home most of the day or where there are other companion animals for me.

My brother Tristan and I were born on Mother's Day 2022 in a country shelter where we spent six months in a small cage. Fortunately a HOPE volunteer sprung us out and brought us to our foster home. Despite my rough beginning, I’ve adjusted well to all the comforts and amenities of my cozy home. For example, I love canned food, although I'm hesitant to share my portion with any other kitties. I also enjoy batting around toy mice that rattle.

Although we're available separately, Tristan and I think it would be the cat’s meow if we could be adopted together. That way we could keep each other company while you’re at work or on vacation. Arrange to meet me today! I have so much love to give -- all I need is YOU!

Trip #gentle-giant

EAST DOWNTOWN SURVIVOR

DOB 8/11/20

Trip survived on the rough streets of East Downtown Houston, where he got beaten up by some rough alley cats, dogs, and bad people. When he came into rescue, he had multiple injuries, which have been tended to, and now Trip is a very handsome dude.

Since this gentle guy is super-sized with a big heart and quiet demeanor, he'd be great around children. He loves living the good life and will sit quietly while his head is rubbed. Surprisingly enough, Trip isn't afraid of people but does prefer to watch you from a distance until he feels he can trust you.

And recently Trip has discovered how fun cat toys and kitty trees can be. This guy loves entertaining himself by batting around balls or furry mice.

Are you able to love this big guy forever and ever?

SWEET, AFFECTIONATE GUY

DOB 5/8/22

Hi there! I’m Tristan, a sweet, affectionate black DSH/Bombay mix fella with copper-penny eyes who loves head rubs and sitting in Foster Meowmy’s lap. I prefer getting to know new people before I trust them, but I do adjust fairly quickly to them.

I love chasing my toys under furniture and then diving underneath to retrieve them. My favorite toys are crinkle balls and rattle mice.

My brother Tony and I were born on Mother's Day 2022 in a country shelter where we spent six months in a small cage. Fortunately a HOPE volunteer sprung us out and brought us to our foster home. PLAYFUL VALENTINE'S DAY KITTY

DOB 2/14/22

Well hello! I'm Valerie, a friendly, social, gentle, and curious black domestic short hair/Bombay mix gal who has a sleek, shiny black patent-leather coat. I got my name because I was born around Valentine’s Day.

I love people, and Bombay mix kittens are often called “Velcro” cats because we stick so closely to our humans. I'm not as mischievous as some kittens, but I'm certainly rank with the best explorers. Just call me Marco Polo.

Come meet me, the Valentine Day's kitty, today.

GIRL WITH A FOOT FETISH

DOB 5/20/22

Well, hello! My name is Willa, and I’m a very sweet, cuddly black DSH/Bombay mix girl with a sleek, shiny patent-leather coat who likes to cuddle next to my foster meowmy. I have several unique idiosyncrasies. One: I like to groom people as well as my seven litter mates. Two: I like to play with people’s feet and shoes when they walk into a room or when they just stand there. During my quiet “time out” moments, I enjoy basking in a sunbeam on the window sill to watch the birds and lizards.

I was the runt of my litter, but I’m quickly catching up. Plus I’m not short on energy when it comes to playing with my siblings as I keep up with the best of them. We tumble and pounce, climb and wrestle with each other, and when we're exhausted from all the fun, we collapse in a kitten puddle.

My litter of eight was rescued from an abusive, neglectful situation, so we're grateful to have transitioned from hardscrabble beginnings to a loving, caring HOPE foster home. We live with three resident adult cats and two large resident dogs. I like the other cats just fine, but I only coexist with the dogs.

I definitely need to be in a home with other cats or kittens. I think it'd be the cat's meow if I could be adopted with one of my littermates (Dixie, LIzzie, or Carlie) or another one of my foster mates. That way we can keep each other company while you're at work or on vacation.

Hopefully you're not superstitious because, as Groucho Marx said, "A black cat's crossing your path signifies that he's going somewhere." Most people who adopt black cats once want to adopt one again because of their outstanding personalities and emotional stability.

SPUNKY CUDDLEBUG

DOB 8/24/19

Hi everyone! I’m Woobie, a spunky, funny, entertaining Turkish Van mix gal who’s mostly white with black on my head and tail. Don’t you love my white blaze running up my nose? Because I’m such a snuggler, I was named after the child’s security blanket popularized in the movie “Mr. Mom.”

I’m a lap cat extraordinaire. I absolutely LOVE people and the cuddles that we share. I'm full of zany antics and have a plucky attitude. I’ll bunny-kick a stuffed animal and then come sit in your lap to get praise and to snuggle.

I get along great with the other gentle cats in my foster home as well as a service dog who drops by occasionally. I’m accustomed to the calm and quiet of my foster home, so I’d probably do best in a home without chaos and without kids.

My siblings Mothra and Godzilla were found with me as orphan kittens during Tropical Storm Imelda. Although I'm available separately, it would be the cat’s meow if I could be adopted with one of my siblings so we could keep each other company while you’re at work or on vacation. If you’re looking for a real lap cat who’s the life of the party and who’s past the mayhem of kittenhood, I’m your girl! Arrange to meet me today! I promise to leave tiny paw prints all over your heart.

You are here:
ONE BLUE EYE, ONE GREEN EYE

DOB 6/6/22

Well hello! I’m Ziva, a super-sweet, energetic, sassy Turkish Van/DSH mix lass who has one blue eye and one green eye. “Van” means that I’m mostly white with black on my ears, forehead, and tail. I adore cuddling with my foster meowmy, and yet I’m a typical frisky kitten who loves to zoom through the kitty tunnel and pounce on wand toys that Foster Meowmy dangles above my head.

I was found in southwest Houston as an orphan stray and fit in beautifully with the rest of the cats and kittens in my foster home. I was named after the daughter of the woman who paid for my rescue vetting. I boldly stand up for myself when my 13-pound foster-cat-brother Rusty tries to steal my treats!

If you’re looking for a little girl who’s “sugar and spice and everything nice,” I’m your gal! It would be great if I had another fur buddy to keep me company while you're at work or on vacation. I hope that you’ll arrange to meet me today!

Submitting an application does not obligate you to adopt, but it initiates contact with us and gets the process started.  If you have questions prior to filling out the application or want to find out which adoption site this feline will be this week-end, email us at hope@homelesspets.net , and a volunteer will get back to you.
