Bunny

You are here:

Estimated Date of Birth 7/10/17

Bunny and her Mom, Honey, were found at a farm west of Katy.  The farmer was not feeding them and Bunny was the only puppy to survive.  But now Bunny is living in a HOPE Foster Home and growing like a little weed.  She is as sweet as can be, full of energy and loves to go on walks to see what's going on in the world.  Bunny loves to get in her foster mom's lap for a tummy rub and she snuggles with her foster mom on the couch or bed.  Bunny is crate-trained, but like most puppies, is still working on potty training.  She is especially happy when hanging out with her canine Mom and older foster brother dog but she loves playing with any other puppies and dogs. This little pup had a very hard start to life, but has proven to have a strong heart.  Could you give her a warm and loving forever home?

Christian

You are here:

Estimated date of birth is 6/1/15, weight about 60 lbs.

Christian in a playful, happy, good-natured fella, as far as he's concerned, every day is a fun day!  He's also incredibly sweet, he loves people and wants to play with other dogs.  But he chases cats.

Christian was abandoned at a park in SW Houston prior to being rescued by a Good Samaritan.  Now he's being boarded in a kennel but he would so much like to have a true home of his own.

Christian has been through basic obedience class and he loves to chase the tennis ball.  He walks OK on leash and is well behaved in his crate at adoptions.

Cookie

You are here:

Estimated date of birth is 4/1/12, weight is about 20 lbs.

Cookie is as sweet as her name implies!  This playful girl likes to play with the other foster dogs in her foster home (chase in the backyard or living room is a favorite game), snuggle on the couch with her foster mom when they're watching TV, and cuddle with her doggy pals  in the big living room chair. She also gives her foster mom kisses.  Cookie is  crate trained, uses the doggy door and would be fine in a home with kids ages teenager +.  It is a requirement of adoption that Cookie be allowed on the furniture.

Faith

You are here:

Faith is a super sweet and cuddly girl! She was rescued off the streets of Houston as a stray and is estimated to be about 4 years old. She is potty trained and crate trained and is trusted to roam her foster parent's house all the time where she lounges on the sofa taking long naps. Her favorite activities include cuddling with her foster parents on the couch, playing in the backyard with her foster dog siblings, squeaky toys and going for walks around the neighborhood. She is very friendly with strangers and loves to meet new people. Faith would do best in a home where she has a canine companion to wrestle with and a family that will continue to shower this sweetheart with the kindness and love she never had as a street pup. She is wonderful with children but would do best in a home with older children due to her breed's physical strength and size. Faith is not good with cats but shares her foster home now with dogs of all sizes ranging from Rottweiler to a Mini Schnauzer. Honey

You are here:

Estimated Date of Birth 8/23/11

Honey was found with one surviving puppy, Bunny, at a farm west of Katy.  The farmer was not feeding them and she had little to eat.  But now Honey has been rescued by a HOPE foster family and is in good health.  Honey is a sweet, gentle, quite girl, very easy going and low maintenance. She is friendly with her foster brother dog (they like to lounge in and mosey around the backyard together in nice weather), rarely barks, and is house trained.  Honey is still easily frightened of thunderstorms and unusual events in the neighborhood, like trash trucks.  She enjoys going on walks in her neighborhood but pulls when she decides it is time to go home. Would you consider giving this middle-aged lady a new start and a forever home?

Johnny Cash

You are here:

Hi, I'm Johnny Cash and I want to sing my way into your heart!

I'm a lovable guy that likes to have fun! The dog park is one of my favorite places. I am a happy-go-lucky guy who gets along well with everyone and am very socialized.  When I'm not practicing my next country hit, I like to sleep in my doggie bed, or curl up in someone's lap.  I am intelligent and I learn quickly. In fact, I am a recent graduate of Basic Obedience Level 1 and I can sit, stay, and I’m working on learning to shake hands!  I'm an active pup, so be ready to rock-n-roll. Yes, country and rock-n-roll CAN go together.

Paloma

You are here:
I was rescued from a neighborhood puppy mill where I was the chief producer. I had two to three litters of pups every year for several years and after lots of pleading by my new foster mom, I was given to her.  I am very thankful to be rescued from that situation, but am now looking for my forever home. It is time for me to be pampered!  If you are looking for a loving, sweet, obedient, well-behaved, snuggle baby, who will fill your life with joy and lots of kisses, I'm your gal.  Snuggling with humans is my favorite thing to do, once I get to know them. And, I know lots of commands, like: sit, stay, come, leave it. I am working on "quiet", but sometimes I get scared and must sound the alarm.  I may bark at new dogs at first, but I can get along with just about any dog once I know that he/she is cool. I prefer to go to a home with a mature person who appreciates peace and quiet and lots of love.  I get irritated when male dogs persistently sniff me, but, given my history, I know you can understand that!

Peace and Love,
Paloma

Rosie

You are here:

Estimated date of birth is 9/1/2015.

Rosie is a young lady that had fallen on hard times until her foster mom stepped up to get her off the streets.  Despite her early life, Rosie's gentle, nurturing soul still shines through.

At just 10 lbs, Rosie is an ideal addition to any family.  She gets along with everyone be it children, adults, other dogs (big and small), even cats don't don't mind her, everyone is her friend.  She is sooo excited when her foster mom enters the room, she's just the happiest little dog!

Rosie is looking for a home with lots of love and attention and she will give it back to her new person 100 fold.  She has excellent house manners and loves to sleep on the couch under a blanket or pillow (so humans need to check under the pillow or blanket before sitting down).  Could Miss Rosie be your next snuggle bunny?!

Sugar

You are here:
Super sweet & super fun!

Estimated date of birth is 1/1/16, weight is 45 lbs.

Sugar was named Sugar because of her sweet disposition.  She loves people and loves to fetch the tennis ball! She's a spunky girl with a million dollar smile 🙂

Sugar is crate trained, house trained and leash trained.  She has been through basic obedience class and knows some commands.  Sugar has a lot of energy and would love to go to a home with a big backyard for exercise, some older kids (teenagers on up) to run around with, and a nice soft, comfy dog bed all of her own.

Turtle

You are here:

Turtle is ready to give up her career as a back yard junk dog!  It's time to start something new, and HOPE Rescue in Houston is ready to help her. Turtle has many skills that will make her new career as an adopted pooch a breeze!  For example, she has plenty of playgroup experience, and she excels at zooming around the yard.  However, she also enjoys just sitting in the yard bird watching or watching the squirrels playing in the trees.  She also has wonderful people skills.

Turtle's specialties are snuggling, smiling and making human hearts grow three sizes. Turtle's favorite past time is just lying on the couch with her human & watching TV.  Can you help Turtle start her new career as an adopted member of your loving family?

Venus

You are here:

In her own words:  I was saying to myself just this morning "Venus, you know what you need? You need a person all your own."  So I sat down to write this post for the nice people at HOPE, because apparently that's the kind of thing they do - find nice people for extremely intelligent and lovable furbabies.  I shudder to type this, but I'M LAPLESS! That's right, I have no lap to call my own. Could you be persuaded to volunteer yours?  I can't wait to see my forever home!"

Venus is an active and incredibly smart girl who likes nothing more than to stretch her legs at the beach or at the park.  She'd suit an active person who wants an outgoing and friendly companion - if you ca lob a tennis ball, Venus will be your friend for life!
