Apollo

You are here:
Cute as can be! I would love to be someone's little Love Bug! I am a perfect lap size, if you're interested, or just your very best buddy.

Hi I'm Apollo! I'm only 8 lbs but I am fearless, I love people and other dogs and cats too, whoever wants to play with me.  I also love to give kisses and cuddle.  I only bark to alert you if someone is coming and that's because I want to keep you safe, I'm very protective of my humans.  I'm a good boy who knows how to go outside to do my business.  I'm very young but a fast learner.  I love to play with my toys and sleep in a plush bed.  If you have room in your home for a very smart lovable little fur baby then I'm your guy.  Can't wait to meet you!

Bella

You are here:

Hello! My name is Bella because I am such a beautiful girl!  I was found in front of a school, hanging out, hoping someone would take me home.  I love playing games with my foster dad and getting fresh air outdoors. I also love anything peanut-butter flavored and will do tricks for treats; so far I know “sit”, “shake” and “down”.  I like other canine's and I'm crate trained.

I’m super affectionate towards people and would love to become the newest member of your family!

Ciao, Bella

Bob

You are here:

Date of birth is 11/9/17.

Bob is lovable and sweet.  His little bobbed tail will always tell you how happy he is to see you.  He walks well on leash and is almost house-trained.  Bob needs a canine playmate or two, and a household where someone is home a lot.  He doesn't like to be alone for too long.  He doesn't mind being in a crate when you're not home, but only for a few hours.  Bob really likes to go on walks and play with his canine brother.

Buster

You are here:
An Agility Dog in the Making!

Estimated date of birth is April 1, 2018.

Buster is brimming with love and FUN.  Buster weighs in at about 65 lbs and is a Australian Cattle Dog and Staffordshire Terrier mix.  He may even have some Mastiff in him, which would explain the size of his head and his sloshy ways at the water bowl!  Notice that his head is grey, while the big spots on his body are brown or "liver" colored.

Buster is obedient and very eager to please.  This boy waits to be invited into the house!  He also knows sit, stay, come, down, off, heel and no.  He also knows how to FETCH — and actually returns the object and drops it at your feet.  His favorite toy is a taco that squeaks.  A close second is ANY ball.  Buster just LOVES balls.  Someone obviously spent a lot of time training him before he was dumped in Bellaire.  Buster’s foster's 10-year old daughter is having a blast teaching him her dog agility course – seesaw, tunnel, jumps, etc. – because he is such a fast learner.

The ideal owner for Buster will be:

-an experienced dog owner who is very active and wants a companion for long walks or runs /has children at least 10-years old (Cattle Dogs aren't recommended for young children https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=koq1G5eDDEE);

-someone who likes to throw balls with his/her dog.  LOTS of them!

-someone who either does not have cats or is willing to continue training him that cats are not for chasing. He has made significant strides in this area because he’s such a pleaser.

-someone who wants to receive Buster’s undying love.  He’s ready to give it!

Come meet Buster on a Saturday at HOPE dog adoptions!

Meg

Meg is such a sweet girl, she adores hanging out with people, playing fetch, napping in the sun and treats!  She's a good car rider, has been through basic obedience training, is crate trained and is waiting so patiently for a home so that she doesn't have to live at a boarding kennel.

Rami

You are here:

"My name is Rami, the “Exalted One”, a name that was chosen because of my good looks and regal bearing.  Several months ago I was found trapped in a wooded construction site, emaciated and scared.  Now I am a playful, energetic young pup, pampered with squeaky toys and tennis balls.

I love playing with the resident dog, and my cat tolerates me but won’t play no matter how hard I try! I walk pretty well on a leash, but in new situations I get nervous.  I much prefer the “free” command when I can play chase with my pals, the neighborhood dogs.  Meeting new people and new dogs can be challenging for me but eventually I calm down and accept new friends.

I have the run of the house when I’m left alone and am trustworthy because I have the company of my housemates (the other dogs here).  I am crate trained but prefer napping inside it for short periods of time. I am housebroken and take treats nicely.

If you’re looking for the strong, silent type, I might not be your boy--I take my guarding duties seriously.  I am working on my excitable puppy antics like mouthiness.

I am a wonderful dog with lots of love to give, I just need some training, fun exercise, and a patient guardian who can help me get through puppyhood!"

Turtle

You are here:

Turtle is ready to give up her career as a back yard junk dog!  It's time to start something new, and HOPE Rescue in Houston is ready to help her. Turtle has many skills that will make her new career as an adopted pooch a breeze!  For example, she has plenty of playgroup experience, and she excels at zooming around the yard.  However, she also enjoys just sitting in the yard bird watching or watching the squirrels playing in the trees.  She also has wonderful people skills.

Turtle's specialties are snuggling, smiling and making human hearts grow three sizes. Turtle's favorite past time is just lying on the couch with her human & watching TV.  Can you help Turtle start her new career as an adopted member of your loving family?

Venus

You are here:

In her own words:  I was saying to myself just this morning "Venus, you know what you need? You need a person all your own."  So I sat down to write this post for the nice people at HOPE, because apparently that's the kind of thing they do - find nice people for extremely intelligent and lovable furbabies.  I shudder to type this, but I'M LAPLESS! That's right, I have no lap to call my own. Could you be persuaded to volunteer yours?  I can't wait to see my forever home!"

Venus is an active and incredibly smart girl who likes nothing more than to stretch her legs at the beach or at the park.  She'd suit an active person who wants an outgoing and friendly companion - if you ca lob a tennis ball, Venus will be your friend for life!
