Buddy

You are here:

I am a gorgeous, friendly, energetic and unique fella.  For a while, I was a solitary kind of guy with no family, just checking things out on my own and taking it easy.  Then one night I had a run in with a UPS truck. He won and that’s how I became unique:  I am now a tri-pod.  My foster mom took me in, got me all fixed up, I learned to get by with just three legs and I am doing awesome!  I LOVE to run, play and enjoy my new life completely.  The only thing that would make it better would be to have a forever home of my own, hopefully with a canine sibling or two that I can play with; no cats please.  I currently live with two older brothers but they don’t play very much and I get bored.  I love to cuddle up next to my person on the couch, I’ll take all the tummy rubs I can get, and I even give kisses.  I am crate trained and trained for a doggy door, walk on leash, but pull a bit.  I love to chew on bones, toys, and I will chase a ball, but might not bring it back.  I would love to be your awesome tri-pod ‘cause we don’t need no stinkin’ 4 legs !!!!

Approx. DOB:  Jan. 2014. Approx. Weight:  35 lbs.

CeCe

Approx DOB 03/16/2014, approx weight 13 lbs

Meet CeCe, a very sweet, loving and inquisitive little girl! She was found on the side of the road with her friend Molly and 8 pups. It just took a little TLC for this girl to fit right in to her new foster home. She is potty trained and crate trained. She loves to eat and is not picky, BilJac biscuits are her favorite treat. She is not the typical yappy chihuahua, she only barks when there is a reason.

CeCe loves to be held and and give kisses. She would make a great addition to any home.

Christian

Estimated date of birth is 6/1/15, weight about 50 lbs.

Christian in a playful, happy, good natured fella, as far as he's concerned, every day is a fun day!  He's also incredibly sweet, he loves people and wants to play with other dogs.  When exposed to cats, he's the scardy cat!

Christian was abandoned at a park in SW Houston prior to being rescued by a Good Samaritan.  Now he's being boarded in a kennel but he would so much like to have a true home of his own.

Christian is learning some basic commands and he loves to chase the tennis ball.  He walks OK on leash and is well behaved in his crate at adoptions.

Cleo

You are here:

This Schnauzer sweetheart is Cleo and she is Texas born and bred! She is a 11 year old Miniature Schnauzer and weighs 18 lbs. Cleo has natural ears and a docked tail and is trusted to roam the house during the day where she lounges on the sofa in her special dog bed. She is easy going, friendly, always happy and has a very lovable nature. Cleo LOVES to cuddle with her foster parents and go on walks around the neighborhood or take rides in the car. With her calm and kind personality, she is a favorite for children at adoption events where she is fond of being fed treats, being led around on the leash and getting lots of hugs and kisses. Like many senior pups, she does have cataracts in both eyes that slightly impair her vision. Her Vet has advised that yearly exams at a Canine Ophthalmologist should be part of her wellness checkups. A retired individual who would enjoy her cute personality and endless cuddles would be ideal for this little gal! Cooper

You are here:

Cooper and his twin Cody were born November 12, 2016 on the streets of Houston.  At 7 weeks, they were taken from their mother into the safety and comfort of a foster home, starting their lives as inside dogs. Since then, Cooper has come to trust humans, feel safe and turn into a full pledged puppy.  Cooper and Cody are fostered in a multi dog - all males -home, where they are learning the ropes of being good dogs.  Thus far, they are crate trained - sleeping there all night 10pm to 6am without soiling.  They now sit for treats.  As for potty training - upon waking up, they head directly to the door to the back yard, but they still have accidents in the house.

Cooper sports a beautiful shiny black coat with two tone socks on long legs.  His nose is two tone colored adding to his cuteness.  He loves to snuggle with his foster mom, especially under covers. Cooper and Cody love to play, play, play with each other and other dogs.   They love stuffed animals, sticks and foster mom's shoes.

Both puppies are eating kibble, preferring the natural, grain free, limited ingredient brands - Natural Balance, Whole Earth Farms and Natural Balance. Cooper and Cody will be approved to puppy experienced homes.

Darcy is working on learning some commands and her crate training.  She is house trained and walks nicely on leash.  She's happy to share her toys with others and she doesn't mind being the "second dog", in fact, she'd be a great little sister to an older brother or sister.

Hallie

You are here:

Estimated date of birth is 1/1/15.  Weight is 46 lbs.

“My name is Hallie (as in Hallie Berry) and I am quite the head turner, or so my foster mom says!   I was living on the street, hanging out at a truck stop before my foster mom swooped me up and got me off the streets.

My favorite form of exercise is running, either to chase the tennis ball or just for the sheer joy of running.    I’m a Catahoula (Louisiana Cattle Dog) mix, so herding and running are in my genes.  I also like going on long walks, splashing in the kiddie wading pool, and chilling out on my cot with a good chewy bone.  I love spending time with my foster mom when she comes to visit me at the boarding kennel where she’s fostering me, she brushes me and takes me out for car rides.

I know how to Sit and Down and I would love to go through obedience class with you to refine my manners!  I like most male dogs but those girl dogs and cats, no thanks!  I know how to use the doggy door to do my business outside and I’m working on my crate training.

I’m very accessible so if you’d like to come out to the kennel and meet me, please do!”

Turtle

You are here:

Turtle is ready to give up her career as a back yard junk dog!  It's time to start something new, and HOPE Rescue in Houston is ready to help her. Turtle has many skills that will make her new career as an adopted pooch a breeze!  For example, she has plenty of playgroup experience, and she excels at zooming around the yard.  However, she also enjoys just sitting in the yard bird watching or watching the squirrels playing in the trees.  She also has wonderful people skills.

Turtle's specialties are snuggling, smiling and making human hearts grow three sizes. Turtle's favorite past time is just lying on the couch with her human & watching TV.  Can you help Turtle start her new career as an adopted member of your loving family?

Venus

You are here:

In her own words:  I was saying to myself just this morning "Venus, you know what you need? You need a person all your own."  So I sat down to write this post for the nice people at HOPE, because apparently that's the kind of thing they do - find nice people for extremely intelligent and lovable furbabies.  I shudder to type this, but I'M LAPLESS! That's right, I have no lap to call my own. Could you be persuaded to volunteer yours?  I can't wait to see my forever home!
